Chapter 40: The Mysterious Fugitive

"Last time on Buddyfight X...!" Chibi Panda said after pulling out his sword, "Kanata and Keisetsu faced off in a Buddyfight match! And with his Buddy, Demonic Descent Sword of the King, Laevateinn, Keisetsu has tons of swords! Kanata and Athora fought hard! But Keisetsu's a Nine-Sword Style Sword Master! And... he beat him easily!" Chibi Panda explained as he starts to watch the TV, "And then monsters all over Cho-Tokyo start suffering from some mysterious pain. Weird, huh? We're gonna get to the bottom of this! On the double!"

At the Cho-Tokyo, the monsters are starting are rampaging.

"Monsters are behaving erratically all across Cho-Tokyo today. They started terrorizing the public." The news reporter said.

At the Mikado Residence. Gao and his family are watching the news.

"The Buddy Police are investigating it, but as of yet, no one seems to know what's causing it." The news reporter explained.

"That's so scary!" Chibi Panda said as he got scared a little, "What would happen if I became violent and started attacking one of you?"

"What did happen is... I'd slap you silly until you became normal again." Batzz suggested a solution.

"Yeah?" Chibi Panda got nervous after hearing the solution as he imagined himself getting hit by Batzz.

"But to avoid that, you'd better train hard and toughen up!" He advised as he laughed.

"Thanks for the tip, Big Boss." He thanked as Batzz play punch him, "But come on, seriously."

"Batzz and Chibi Panda seems to be fine so far. But there's definitely something weird going on."

At the unknown room, the mysterious person watched the news.

He snickered and then laughed, "Who knew this could happened? Maybe it's time for me to come out of the shadows." He said as he turned to the room with the light shining above a glass panel. He walked to it and opened it, "And for me to join with Wisdom..." He turn the light blue card, "I'm going to cooperate with that guy since he has something that I want."

At Aibo Academy, at the soccer field, Kanata was sitting at the tree as he was in a slump after his defeat against Keisetsu.

"Kanata. I'm sorry." His Buddy, Athora apologized.

"For what?" He asked.

"It's my fault you lost the match against Keisetsu. I'm afraid I wasn't strong enough to protect you. Now I feel as though I let you down again." Athora felt bad now.

"I don't blame you at all. Thing is, I'm just really worried about Keisetsu." Kanata said as he stands up, "He's obviously been brainwashed by Wisdom, just like what he did with Minako's sister. And I pushed him towards that."

"You can't blame yourself for beating him in a Buddyfight. He's responsible for his own choices. Okay?" Athora explained.

"He did it to get back at me, Athora. There's no denying that."

"Well that's on him." Athora argued as Kanata walks to the ball.

"I wanna get Keisetsu away from the CHAOS Company. Away from Wisdom. But I don't know how." He said as he picks up the ball, "I wish there was something that I could do." He asked himself as Athora watches him with a concerned look on his face.

"He's got a big heart." Athora said.

"Sorry guys. But we couldn't help but overhearing." Athora heard Gao's voice as Gao and his Buddies came around, "What exactly happened you and Keisetsu."

"Yeah, it was way before we knew you guys." Chibi Panda said.

Athora then began telling the story about Kanata and Keisetsu...

"Not long after Kanata met me. He began playing Buddyfight." Athora explained as he recalled the time.

'He soon realized that the dexterity and skill of anticipation that he developed playing soccer. Transferred well to the game of Buddyfight.'

At the Shop Tournament.

'He was curious to see how he measures up so he decides to enter a Buddyfight Shop Tournament. He's surprised himself by getting to the final. And his opponent was Keisetsu. Keisetsu was reigning champion of the Card Shop. And apparently had won every other tournament he'd been in. And here comes Kanata, a newbie playing in his first competition. Everybody thought Keisetsu was a shoo-in. But Kanata surprised them all, defeating him easily without taking even a single point of damage.'

Outside, at sunset...

"Great match!" Kanata said as he offered a handshake to Keisetsu, "Can you believe this was my first ever tournament?" He asked, "I hope we can play again."

"Nah." Keisetsu answered as Kanata got confused, "You're not the one who beat me. Athora did. You're just a lame-o who relies on his monsters to fight for him." He complained the explanation.

"Take that back!" Athora argued, "Kanata used his skill to defeat you."

"Don't talk back to me, you lonely monster! That's why I hate all of your kind! That was the only place where I belong. And then a luckster like you comes around and ruins it all! I'll never forgive you!" Keisetsu yelled as he ran off.

"Hey wait! Come back!" Kanata said but Keisetsu didn't bother to listen.

'Keisetsu never came back to that Card Shop again.' Athora said as the flashback ended.

"There was a rumor floating around that he even quit Buddyfighting altogether." Athora explained.

"No way..." Gao was a bit shocked to hear the story.

"I guess that losing to Kanata hit him pretty hard, huh?" Chibi Panda said as he has to admit.

"Hmph. Talk about a sore loser." Batzz believed.

"It upset Kanata to think that he hurt him so bad." Athora said as he recalled the time.

Kanata clenched his fist, "I'm the one who drove Keisetsu to this. I took Buddyfight, the thing he loved the most away from him." He felt a bit disappointed, "The only fair thing to do... is quit as well." He made his decision.

"That explains it..." Gao said as he felt sad after hearing the truth.

"Then he joined the CHAOS Company. And met Wisdom, who gave him the Demonic Descent Sword of the King, Laevateinn." Athora said.

"He became our most powerful enemy! And found Kanata to get revenge." Chibi Panda explained.

"Most powerful? Hah! He just swings around that metal stick he got from Wisdom." Batzz bragged.

"None of this would even happened if I was stronger." Athora blamed himself for not be able to beat Keisetsu. Gao then thinks about it.

"Kanata..." He said quietly.

At the riverbank, near the soccer field. Kanata is practicing his soccer moves. He kicked the ball to the goal but it missed as it knocked off the rail. It got him frustrated as it got him in a slump. He noticed someone is coming as it was Gao, picking up the ball.

"Yup! Looks like you need a keeper." Gao recommended himself to play with Kanata.

"What are you doing here?" Kanata asked but Gao dodged the question as he set his position as the Goalkeeper.

"Now, try and get what by me!" He said as Kanata smiled and kicks the ball with all his might. Gao managed to grab the ball with his might. Then he throws the ball back at Kanata, "Come on! That was brutal! Even I can put more heat on it. Did losing that match to Keisetsu makes you bad at soccer now too?! The shock from our showdown was way more powerful!" He recalled the time when he challenged Kanata for a soccer match.

Chibi Panda whistled.

"Think fast, Gao!" He kicked the soccer ball as Gao was scared after seeing a huge ball in his view, he evaded as the ball was hit to the goal.

Kanata grunted as he prepares himself.

"Okay!" He said as he swings a kick at the ball as the ball hits the corner of the goal and Gao couldn't get it but he got disappointed.

"At this rate, you'll never beat Keisetsu. Now, give me your best!" Gao said with confidence as the ball went back to Kanata. Then Kanata got a serious look on his face.

"Fine. Don't whine if it hurts." He started to get serious as the fiery passion as he was prepared to kick, "Come on! You can do this!" With all of his might, he kicked the ball strongly as Gao grabbed the ball towards him, he held with his might. But with the strong pressure of the ball, it pushed him at the net of the goal.

"Now that's what I'm talking about, man... I knew you can do it." He got a bit dazed after the ball hit him even when grabbing it.

"Sorry! You okay?!" Kanata asked if his friend is okay.

"Athora told me everything." Gao said as it got Kanata's attention, "It's not your fault Keisetsu works for CHAOS, he thought Wisdom could help him get stronger and make sure he never lose again."

"Maybe, but..."

"Don't worry about the past. We should be thinking about the future."

"Yeah, okay. What are you thinking?" Kanata asked.

Gao smiled, "I think you should fight him again." He advised a solution as Kanata got confused, "As many times as it takes, if you Buddyfight him the way you just kicked that ball, he'll see the error of his ways." Kanata then smiled.

"Maybe you're right. Thanks for being a friend, Gao." Kanata thanked him. Meanwhile, Batzz and Chibi Panda, including Athora were watching from above the field

"You said only after meeting you, Kanata started Buddyfighting, right?" Batzz asked.

"Correct." Athora answered.

"So his life was changed by your encounter. You set him on a new path. Perhaps now it's time that you changed." Batzz advised.

"I must changed?" Athora asked as he started to realize it.

"See you around." Batzz said as he turns and leaves, "I'm looking forward to the new you." He said as Chibi Panda follows.

"Uh, hey. Where are we off to now?" He asked while following Batzz.

Later, at sunset... Kanata talked to his Buddy.

"It's just like Gao said. I'm sure that Keisetsu will understand. Just as I learned how much fun Buddyfighting is from you." Kanata said. Athora look at the field.

"If I recall, this is the place we first met." He said as he recalled the time.

At the soccer field, during winter, Kanata is practicing. Then all of the sudden, a flash of light appeared above him as Kanata looked up and see a Buddy card, slowly descending. As Kanata raised his hand and the card slowly landed on his hand, it revealed Athora when it flipped.

"I'll protect you this time, Kanata. I shall overcome my own limits!" Athora believed as Kanata nodded.

"No, pal. We'll do it together." Kanata said as Athora nodded in agreement as he began to shine and Kanata was amazed as Athora evolved, "Athora...!" Kanata witnessed Athora's newly evolved form, "I don't believe it! You finally evolved!"

"Now I can definitely protect you!"

The next day, at Grimoire Park. Keisetsu was at the office with Grimoire along with Tenko, informing the news.

"You caused quite a problem." Grimoire said.

"Oh? Do tell." Keisetsu asked.

"You didn't hold back in a Buddyfight with our guest and obliterated him. You've now handed all of us a public relations nightmare." Grimoire explained the problem.

"In other words. You. Caused a. Troublesome manner." Tenko said.

"I told you. I do whatever I want. So you two better get used to it." Keisetsu said as Tenko was about to pull out her item but Grimoire stopped her.

"Aha. I thought you'd say that. So from now on, we'll have someone new handling all of our Buddyfights." Grimoire recommended a solution.

"Who? Tenko?" Keisetsu asked as he looked at her.

"No. Tenko is my secretary. There's no need for her to Buddyfight unless she was ordered to. I have someone else in mind." He said as the door opens. Keisetsu turn as he saw a man, wearing a martial chinese uniform, his hair is a bit light purple hair with braided ponytail, his skin is tanned and his eye are hazel-colored.

"Daiakuji!" Keisetsu recognized him, "Not you!"

"Oh. You've heard of me?" Daiakuji asked.

"A criminal Buddyfighter who will do anything for the right price. I heard that you were defeated by Daisuke Masamune, who used to be Masked Dragon." Keisetsu explained.

"But I managed to escape, and he didn't manage to steal my Buddy."

"Yeah, unfortunately. What gives?" Keisetsu asked.

"I just signed a contract with Wisdom. So now I worked for the CHAOS Company."

"Master Wisdom." Keisetsu corrected him, "And don't you forget it." He turned to Grimoire, "Did you do this?!" He complained, "Why would you bring such a lowlife to work here?"

"I'm but a simple secretary. Oh, but that would make Tenko, assistant secretary to be exacted. The point is that I'm guilty of is following orders, just like Tenko." Grimoire explained.

"Orders?! Master Wisdom ordered this?!" Keisetsu asked as he got surprised.

"Master Wisdom's. Orders are. Absolute. His orders. Are not. Fabricated." Tenko said.

"But he has me and you! Two of the CHAOS Four!" He yelled as Daiakuji chuckled, "Huh?"

"That's such a joke. One lost to Gao Mikado and another to Gaito Kurozu. Tenko didn't lose any match but you should be the Incompetent Four." Daiakuji insulted as it got Keisetsu irritated but then he smiled.

"Maybe the others. But I've never lost." Keisetsu said.

"Are you. Saying that. I lost a match?" Tenko asked as she got into her stance.

"I don't need to answer your question." He said as he turns and leaves.

"Keisetsu. Where are you going?" Grimoire asked as Keisetsu stopped.

"To get some answers by speaking with Master Wisdom, face-to-face." Keisetsu said as he leaves.

"Shall I. Go after him?" Tenko asked.

"No. That won't be necessary."

At the shopping district, Gao and his friends are waiting for Kanata as he and his Buddy arrived.

"Guess what, you guys?!" Kanata said.

"That you're running late?" Gao assumed.

"Because you got distracted from soccer?" Minako asked.

"That does make a point. We're almost left without you."

"Gao told us everything, Kanata." Kuguru said.

"For a new destiny. One must walk the path himself." Gaito quoted, "It seems the time has come."

"We'll be cheering you on." Minako said.

"We'll help you prepare your rematch however we can." Noboru said.

"We can fight too!" Haruka said.

"You can count on all of us, bro!" Baku said. Kanata nodded.

"It means a lot. You ready, Athora?" He turned to his Buddy.

"Yeah."

At the Grimoire Park, they arrived but as they went to the gate, it shows a closed sign on it.

"Huh? That's so weird." Chibi Panda said after seeing the problem, "How come the park is closed." He asked.

"Hmm..." Abygale thinks, "The gate should've opened hours ago."

"Doesn't that mean that this park is closed for maintenance or something?" Minako asked.

"But that's strange, it seems to be closed until further notice. Maybe you're right, Minako. This place could have been closed for maintenance." Kuguru said after looking at her phone for sources.

"Unfortunately we had no choice." They heard a voice as it was Grimoire behind the gate with Tenko, "I'm sorry you came all this way just to be disappointed."

"So why's the park been closed? What is the real reason?" Baku asked.

"Because of all the abnormal monster behavior." Grimoire explained.

"You mean the ones from the news?" Minako asked.

"The ones with the mysterious pain that's affecting monster all over Cho-Tokyo?" Noboru asked.

"Yes, in the interest of public safety, we decided to close the park."

"We've come here to seek Keisetsu." Athora requested.

"And I want my sister to be free!" Minako demanded.

"Hold on, Minako. Let us handle this one." Kanata said.

"Oh. Sorry."

"So? Why would that be?" Grimoire asked.

"To challenge him, to a Buddyfight." Athora explained as it surprised Grimoire a bit and then he smiled.

"I understand. Please enter." Grimoire approved with a smirk on his face.

At the Fighting Stage under Grimoire Park... The lights shine as they arrived as the stage was set up with Kanata and Athora in position.

"Sorry for the wait." Kanata and Athora heard a voice as a dragon appeared with Daiakuji there. The dragon is pure white with a light blue hood with a golden tiara with a blue jewel in the center. It has two wings, the first pair was dragon scale wings and the second was feathered wings, it also has a jewel necklace.

"Hey, you're..." Kanata doesn't believe that man was Keisetsu.

"Long Daiakuji." Daiakuji introduced himself.

"Long Daiakuji?" Athora asked, "We came here to Buddyfight Keisetsu." Then he heard something transporting.

"Wherever there's a Buddyfight, you'll find Paruko Nanana! Today's exciting matchup features Long Daiakuji against Kanata Oozora! And a little birdie told me one of these fighters has a big surprise." Paruko announced.

"Who is this Daiakuji guy, huh?" Noboru asked after hearing him for the first time.

"I never heard of this dude." Baku said.

"I can't find anything about him online." Kuguru said.

"Do you think he's a criminal?" Haruka asked.

"Maybe. But we have to wait and see." Kuguru said.

"But does that mean he's a mystery Buddyfighter whose identify is unknown?" Chibi Panda asked.

"Tell us where Keisetsu is." Gao demanded.

"Keisetsu's been reassigned. If you want details, you'll have to defeat me and ask Grimoire." Daiakuji recommended the solution. Kanata gave it some thought.

"Got this?" He asked his Buddy.

Athora nodded, "Let's beat this guy."

"Finishing kick with an azure field! Long shot! Luminize! Dragon's Fielder!"

"Wipe out everything on Earth and eradicate all hope! Luminize! Guardian Dragon! Imperial Wrath!"

"Buddyfight!"

"Time to Raise the Flag!"

"Star Dragon World!

"I'm with Dungeon World!"

"First move is mine." Daiakuji said, "Charge and Draw! I Buddycall Guardian Dragon of the Nativity, Mother Dragon to the center!" He paid 3 gauge as he Buddycalled and gained one life, "I cast! Reset Button! I return the gauge to my deck and boost my gauge!" He cast as he returned the first gauge and gained 4 more, "I call Monster Egg to the left!" He called out a dragon egg on the nest, the egg has green double triangle shape and light green triangle shape in the center.

"A Monster Egg?" Minako asked as she got confused after seeing it.

"But why call it? It only has like 0 power." Noboru said as he got a bit disappointed.

"Mother Dragon! Attack the fighter!" Daiakuji commanded as Kanata prepares to defend himself and the Mother Dragon used light rays as it shoots at Kanata, inflicting 2 damage.

"Oh right! Kanata's taking massive damage!" Paruko announced.

"Hang in there!" Gao said.

"My turn is now over. With Mother Dragon's effect, I call Silver Monster Egg from the Drop Zone to the right position." He called out a silver egg that has double triangle shape all over it.

"It's silver this time." Minako said as her eyes gleaming after seeing the egg.

"Why does he keep calling monsters with 0 power?!" Chibi Panda asked as he wondered from seeing it.

"I don't know. But he must have a reason." Noboru said as his eyebrow twitches.

"Blue Crystal Dragon, Kalvados to the center!" Kanata paid 3 gauge as he called out Kalvados to the center, "I call Jade Crystal Dragon, Chartreuse to the right! And Red Crystal Dragon, Almarone." He called out two crystals into those areas, "I equip! Crystal Spikes!" He equipped his item, "It's kickoff time!"

"Kanata has set up his usual attack formation!" Paruko announced.

"Kalvados! Go attack Mother Dragon!" Kalvados launched his attack as it hits Mother Dragon and destroys it but then it got revived due to Soulguard.

"I revive her with Soulguard!" Daiakuji said.

"Almarone! Chartreuse! Do a Link Attack!" Chartreuse launched a laser attack at Mother Dragon and destroys her again. But came by due to Soulguard.

"Long's monster stays on the field. Kanata's attacks has 0 effects!" Paruko announced as she knows that attacks failed.

"Boy, she's really one tough mama!" Chibi Panda said.

"Let me at her! I bet I could destroy her in one blow!" Batzz considered himself to do it.

"Once again, it's Long's turn!" Paruko announced.

"I activate the Monster Egg on the left's ability! I call Gummy Slime as a size 0 monster!" Long recommended.

"Yeah? Size 0?" Kanata asked as Monster Egg hatched out Gummy Slime. It got both Kanata and his Buddy confused.

"What's this?" Athora asked as the other got surprised too.

"How'd he hatched a monster out from an egg?" Kuguru asked.

"I'm able to call new monsters from my deck. That's the true ability of the zero powered monster." Daiakuji said as he posed his karate pose, "Guardian of the Sanctuary, Lumiere! Be born from the Silver Monster Egg on the right!" He pose a kung fu as the Silver Monster Egg slowly starting to hatch as Lumiere appears from the egg. Lumiere's appearance is like a dragon with blue devil horns and has light blue hair and two blue ribbon earrings, its wings are blue, "Due to Lumiere's ability, I destroy Chartreuse." Lumiere's lightning shocks at Chartreuse. It surprised Kanata.

"New monsters are hatching at a rapid rate! Long's fighting style is forced to be reckoned with!" Paruko announced.

"I cast! Blessing of Nereus!" He cast as he gave his Buddy a boost, "This will increase Lumiere's power! Mother Dragon! Show them your power! Attack Kalvados!" With Mother Dragon's power, her light shines and hits Kalvados, destroying it in an instant.

"Revive with Soulguard!" Kanata said as Kalvados has been revived due to Soulguard, "Activate Crystal Spike's ability!" His item glowed for the effect activation. He gave a kick and shoots at Long, inflicting one effect damage.

"Nice shot, Kanata!" Athora complimented his skill.

"In that case, I'll get Kalvados with Lumiere!" Lumiere attacks Kalvados with his claw as he destroys it.

"I add my strength to your gauge!" Kalvados said his last words and got destroyed. But in his place, a gauge was added.

"Thank you for your bravery." Kanata thanked him.

"That gauge is gonna come in handy." Athora said in consideration.

"Double Attack on the fighter! Then a Link Attack with Gummy Slime!" He posed a fighting pose as Kanata got frustrated for taking the attacks. Lumiere and Gummy Slime attacked together, inflicting 4 damage at Kanata. It surprised everyone with how much damage he took.

"With Kanata's center wide open, Lumiere's attack hits his target!" Paruko announced as it got everyone gasped.

"He's lost a lot of life." Gaito said.

"If this keeps up. He'll lose with two attacks." Minako said.

"My turn's over. With Mother Dragon's effect, I call Gold Monster Egg to the left." He called out a golden version of the Monster Egg that is shiny.

"This time, it's a gold monster egg! I wonder what monster will hatch out of that!" Paruko announced, "First, it's Kanata's turn!"

"Athora, I believe that you can do this. I Draw! Charge and... I Draw!" Kanata prepared his next move, "Go get him, Buddy." He believed Athora.

"You can count on me!" Athora said.

"Buddycall Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora to the center!" He paid 3 gauge as he Buddycalled and regained one life.

"Observe my evolved form!" Athora jumped as he transforms to his newly evolved form. His wings have multiple crystals that has various colors. His crown expanded and his body shines with more quartz and crystals in light pink colors, "No matter what comes, there's no need to fear. I'll protect Kanata til the end!" Long got irritated as Paruko was amazed.

"This is the fighter's surprised that I've spoke of, Athora's evolve!" Paruko announced.

"Wow! Athora finally evolved! He's so shiny!" Minako said as she was amazed.

"I knew that sooner or later he do it." Abygale said as he expected this to happen.

"Oh yeah. Destiny has guided him." Gaito said.

"Hmph. Now this makes things interesting." Batzz said as he was amused for seeing it.

"Let him have it, you guys!" Gao cheered.

"I cast! Enhancement! Gauge boost by one and I draw a card!" Kanata cast as he gained a gauge and drew a card, "Athora! Attack Mother Dragon!" It got Long irritated.

"Prismatic Maser Ray!" Athora used his wings as it shines brightly and shoots out rainbow-colored maser beam. It hits at Mother Dragon as it destroys her. It got everyone amazed.

"Check it out!" Gao said.

"It's so... beautiful." Kuguru said after witnessing.

"With Mother Dragon's Lifelink, Long Daiakuji's life points dropped down to 8!" Paruko announced as Long loses 2 life due to Lifelink. It made him angry.

"Athora! Double Attack!"

"Prismatic Maser Ray!" Athora shines his attack at Long, inflicting 2 damage.

"Long still has that Gold Monster Egg, and that doesn't look good, right?" Haruka asked.

"That's right. Who knows what would hatch out of that." Kuguru said.

"I'm not letting anything come out of that egg!" Kanata swear to destroy that egg at all cost, "Go! Almarone!" Almarone then flies as it prepares to strike at the Gold Monster Egg.

"I cast! Hidden Crossbow!" Long cast as the arrow shoots at Almarone before it comes near the egg as it got destroyed.

"It's an exciting back-and-forth battle! Long defends against the attack and now his turn begins!" Paruko announced.

"I activate Gold Egg's ability!" He activates it as the Gold Egg hatches, revealing Lumiere, "Calling Guardian of the Sanctuary, Lumiere! I cast! Reset Button! I return one card to the deck and increase my gauge!" He cast as he returned one gauge to the deck and gained 4 more, "And now, I call to the center, Mother Dragon!" He called his Buddy again to the center. It got Kanata surprised but Athora sighed.

"This is absolutely amazing! The left, center, and right positions are all occupied by size 3 monsters!" Paruko announced.

"Aldo Athora has 10000 defense, but there's no way he could shield all those attacks." Baku explained the circumstances.

"You're wrong!" Batzz said as he believed., "He's been reborn! He's stronger than he was before."

"That's right. Kanata's gonna win!" Gao said as he believed too.

"I'll finish him on this turn." Long said to himself, "Lumiere! Attack Aldo Athora!" Lumiere then comes to strike at Athora.

"Kanata! Use that power! Now!" Athora advised it to his Buddy.

"Let's do it!" Kanata made the sign for Over, "Aldo Athora!" Then he made the sign for Turn, "Overturn! Aldo Athora's Overturn cost one hand card and one gauge! And also, he can't destroyed no matter what!" He paid one gauge and one hand card to activate the effect.

"Basically, Athora's unbeatable!" Chibi Panda said as Lumiere attacked but failed to destroy Athora. Then Daiakuji takes one damage due to the effect of Athora's Overturn.

"Impossible! Why am I taking damage?" Long asked as he got confused.

"Not only can Aldo Athora not be destroyed by any attacks, but when he is attacked, he deals one damage to the opponent." Kanata explained his Buddy's effect.

"Sp he deals effect damage when his Buddy's attacked?" Minako asked as she got surprised.

"Athora's Overturn power in his evolved form is impressed." Gaito said as he admits.

"I activate Crystal Spike's ability!" He activate it as he shoots his attack at Daiakuji, inflicting 1 damage.

"Why you-!" Long said as he got angry, "My turn is over." But just when he was about to declared his end of turn. Lumiere started to attack without given a command. He attacked Athora as he got blocked off for a failed attack.

"What's going on?! Lumiere just did a Double Attack all on his own!" Paruko announced.

"What?!" Long got surprised as he takes another damage

"You see, this is another ability of Aldo Athora's Overturn. Every one of your cards will be forced to attack Aldo Athora and only one at a time." Kanata explains the effect.

"But, that's not fair!" Long complained.

"Boy, since when he became such a sore loser?" Minako asked.

"You don't have to be rude, Minako." Gaito said.

"Sorry."

"But Athora's strategy defends at all cost. This ability is just perfect for him." Gaito said.

"It is perfect for him. As a counterattack strategy."

"Yes. It's a very aggressive defense though." Abygale said.

"I sure am glad that I'm not fighting that man." Gao said as he was relived.

"He said it like it's good thing." Haruka said as she sweatdropped. Then the second Lumiere from the right makes his attack at Aldo Athora and attacked again. Daiakuji takes 2 damage due to the effect.

"No! Stop it! I did not order you to attack!" Long said desperately as Mother Dragon rises up and makes her attack. Long screamed as he desperately tried to convince his Buddy to stop, "Don't do it! Don't attack the dragon!" He gave a warning but it was too late. As Mother Dragon attack but has failed, Daiakuji lost in a sudden end.

"This should be the end of you!" Athora said.

"This can't be happening!" Long said as he lost the match.

"Long." Kanata interrupted him as Long looked at Kanata, "Let's have another Buddyfight some time." He considered.

"Heh. Maybe if I do some serious training." Long said as he thinks about it.

"Great match, you guys!" Chibi Panda congratulated then, "You totally rocked it!"

"Way to go, Kanata!" Gao congratulated them.

"Probably I could've fought better." Batzz somewhat commented.

"It's all thanks to you, Gao." Kanata thanked him.

"Now we can go fight against Keisetsu. I know that now we're strong enough." Athora said. But then the group heard the doors opened as the media and press came through.

"Mr. Grimoire?" One of the reporters asked to see if he's around the arena.

"Is he here? Where's Mr. Grimoire?" Another one of the reporters asked. It got everyone surprised.

"What's this all about?" Noboru asked.

"Yes. The Buddy Police just made an official statement."

"They discovered that the cause of the monster's erratic behavior all over town has to do with the Buddy Checker app! Given out here at Grimoire Park!" It got Gao and his friends shockingly surprised after hearing the news.

"Unreal." Athora said, "How can an app caused so much misery?"

"That explains why none of us were affected as we refuse to receive the free app." Abygale said his theory.

"Hey, you're right!" Chibi Panda agreed as they remembered the time when they came to Grimoire Park.

'And we can all owe Big Boss for saving us from getting hurt.'

"We Thunder Empire Monsters always fight at a big level! So we have no need of your new-fangled app!" Batzz complained.

"I didn't think that app can be so dangerous for monsters." Minako said.

"This is unforgivable. How dare they." Gaito said.

"How dare I what?" He heard a voice as Gao and Batzz saw Wisdom in his business suit.

"You?!" Batzz said angrily after seeing him.

"Wisdom!" Gao said.

"Mr. Grmoire's no longer employed here. As the CEO of the CHAOS Company, I have an important announcement to make, so please listen carefully." Wisdom said as he is going to make an announcement.

Spotlight have shown as Daisuke and Ryuusei appeared on stage.

"Man, it's been a long time since we had our Corner Time, huh Ryuusei?"

"Yeah, it has. Anyways, the next chapter will be about the resolve with the App but also another surprise will be along the way."
