Back in the beginning, just a few years after Crisis, and a few years before the Next Generation would take control, the families were trying to make do with the new situation. While in the early days, Kara constantly needed to rush off to work and leave Anjelica off with Peter. Not that he minded in any respect, as he loved having the day with his daughter. This would be the early days before Anjelica ever shined her first light as a hero, but just a few days after showing that she had signs of powers.
Kara was walking around their home as she tried to get ready to leave. She grabbed her purse and picked up her glasses from the counter. She walked over and gave Peter a quick kiss on the head as he sat on the couch. Anjelica quickly jumped onto her mother, who carried her daughter around for the fun of it.
"Thanks again for agreeing to watch Angel today," Kara said as she practically squeezed her daughter in a hug.
"No problem," Peter said as he relaxed. This was his first day to truly relax in recent days. "We'll just be enjoying ice cream and watching Mario."
Kara rolled her eyes as she saw Peter was just making another dad joke. "I am going to let that joke slide because I know you're joking," she said before pecking Anjelica and placing her down on the ground once they reached the door. "Don't let your dad eat ice cream for breakfast."
Anjelica promised and crossed her heart, "I won't."
"Okay, I love you both," Kara said as she opened the door and left.
Anjelica stood by the door for a few seconds before spinning around to run to her dad. "She's gone!"
Peter smiled as he then reached down and opened a drawer where he had hidden a bag full of his and Anjelica's favorite doughnuts. He had hidden them within a container that was specifically designed to keep out Kara's enhanced senses. If he hadn't used it, she would have torn through them until there was nothing left.
"Doughnut?" Peter asked as he held one out to her, holding it by the hole.
Anjelica ran over and leaped onto the couch beside her father and grabbed the doughnut. "Technically not ice cream," she said.
Peter chuckled and dragged her close so she was leaning against him. He then reached over and grabbed a doughnut for himself and the remote. "I love this movie," he said.
"Please don't sing during any of the songs," Anjelica begged her father.
"I will not make promises I can't keep," Peter stated, lovingly messing with his daughter by doing so. But then his phone began to buzz and he saw it was the DEO. "Work?" He was confused about why they were calling since he had the day off. He reached over and hit the button to hear them. "Hey, Alex. Is something wrong?"
Alex sighed. "Well, we could use your help on something. I know it's your day off, but Brainy is currently in Central City helping Spider-Flash with something. We could use some technical assistance with a problem. In and out. Three minutes tops."
Peter sighed as he looked at Angelica and then shrugged. "Alright, I'll be there in five. Just do me a favor and don't tell Kara." He hung up and sighed again before looking at Angelica. "You mind if we go out?"
"Ooh!" Anjelica exclaimed, getting so excited she began floating off the ground.
Peter took Anjelica on the back of his Iron-Spider and started to fly through the city as Anjelica cheered. Peter also made sure to hack any cameras or surveillance that would be recording or shooting them flying past. As far as anyone was concerned, the kid was not even related and it was just something the heroes would do.
But while Peter was flying through the city, he felt his senses go off and Anjelica picked up on it. "Hey, Dad, isn't that the Sand guy?"
Peter stopped flying and looked down at the ground where there was indeed Sandman who was attacking the streets. "Ugh, got bored with Spider-Man, so he had to come to my city?"
"Can we play with him?" Anjelica asked a little curiously.
Peter looked down at his daughter and then up, before letting out a shrug. "I don't see why not," he said. "Just for a second."
Sandman was causing mayhem and caused everyone to run, meaning that the streets were cleared for the two to confront each other. Peter landed, his thrusters shutting down and his arms making a soft landing for the father-daughter flight.
"Hey, Marko!" Peter cried as Anjelica held onto his shoulders. Sandman turned to face him and let out a growl as Peter approached him. But the second they were face to face with one another, Peter grabbed Anjelica and held her out to him. "Do you mind watching this little girl for a second? I've got to run an errand really quickly."
Flint was confused and looked at Anjelica, who had a giant smile on her face. "Uh...sure?" he said hesitantly, unsure if this was some sort of trap or not.
"Thanks!" Peter thanked him and placed Anjelica into the Sandman's enlarged hand. "I'll be back when I can!"
Peter then activated his thrusters and took off back into the air to make his way to the DEO. While he did that, Flint looked down at the little girl who squealed in delight.
"Do a castle!"
Peter made it back to the DEO quickly where he got right to work and managed to get the job done quickly. Once he got the job done, he quickly made his way back out and made his way to find Anjelica and Sandman. Luckily, he also left a small tracker on Anjelica just in case Flint tried to run off with his kid.
When Peter arrived at the scene, he saw that the police had set up a barricade and were present, but he was also surprised by what he saw. Anjelica had somehow convinced Sandman to create an entire castle similar to Rapunzel's from the Tangled movie.
Marko was also creating a long rope attached to the castle for Anjelica who was hanging out of the window. "Like this?"
"No! More like a braid!" Anjelica was always picky when it came to her hair.
Peter chuckled and couldn't help but let out a small laugh as he approached them. He even noticed how stressed Marko looked, seeming he didn't know the stress of having a kid like Peter had learned to live with.
"Hey!" Peter greeted, and Marko seemed relieved to see him. "Hope she wasn't too much trouble for you," he said as he walked up and even crawled up the side of the tower to grab his kid. "Come here, Angel, it's time to go."
Anjelica cheered, "He made a castle!" and then leaped into her father's arms.
Peter chuckled as he held his daughter close. "I can see that. But it looks like he didn't do the hairstyle right."
"Exactly," Anjelica agreed as she spun and held his neck.
Peter then activated his thrusters and flew over to Flint. "Thanks again!" He then dropped a small canister at Flint's feet, catching his attention before he left. "Gotta go now!"
When the device then went off, it caused a coating of glass to surround Flint, stopping him from escaping. He was able to survive, but he couldn't escape until the police decided to let him out once he was back in his cell.
Since they were planning to spend the day out, Peter decided to take his daughter to the park and leave his suit behind. He watched as she played on the swings, even going around and playing with other kids her age. Peter tried to talk to a few of the other parents there, but it was difficult since he had to keep the fact that his daughter was different because of her powers.
Then for lunch, Peter took Anjelica to a hot dog cart and just got them both a hotdog to eat. They then took a stroll through the park and walked past the fountain before seeing that it was getting late. Deciding it was time to head home, Peter and Anjelica went home where they went back and sat down on the couch. Just as they did, they heard the sound barrier being broken, meaning that Kara was arriving in a moment.
And just as they had expected, Kara opened the door and dropped her bag off at the entrance. "Hey, where is everyone?"
Angelica jumped when she saw her mother. "Mommy's home!"
Peter watched as she became increasingly excited to see Kara and scoffed, "Traitor."
Kara walked over and noticed they were still on the couch. "You're both in exactly the same spot as when I left. Did either of you move at all?"
Peter joked, "Only for the bathroom."
"That's not true, Mommy," Anjelica exclaimed excitedly as she talked about her day. "We moved around a lot today. We only just sat down to watch Mario."
"Well, mind if I join you?" Kara asked as she scooted over and sat beside Peter. "Just as long as your dad doesn't sing."
"As I warned our daughter, I make no promises," Peter stated. "I just think you relate to Peach too much."
"Think of it this way, you can now tell Peter you have a comparison better than Frozen," Kara mocked as she snuggled up and got comfortable. Then Peter played the movie and Kara got a little hungry for a snack. "Anyone else want some popcorn?"
Peter reached down and showed the few doughnuts that were left. "How about these instead?"
"Ah! Yes!" Kara squealed as she had a craving for doughnuts. She took the bag and took one out, then kissed Peter on the cheek before resting on his shoulder. "You do love me," she said with a smile.
"I would be crazy not to," Peter playfully teased as he kissed her head.
"That was but a taste of our fury! Do you yield?" The Penguin king asks Bowser.
Bowser chuckled at that notion. "I do not," he said.
