Earth-95

Tokyo-3, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

2015. Two Weeks After the Snap

Strange was perhaps the most appropriate word for the situation the Avengers of Earth-191208 were now in. As with their counterparts on Earth-199999, the Avengers had fought gods and rogue robots in their five years of existence, which was nothing unusual in their world. What was unusual was being suddenly transported to another world based on a popular mecha franchise from Japan and it was real. The surviving Avengers, consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk (now in his human form), Ant-Man, the Wasp, War Machine, and Goliath, were in something they had never dealt with before in their universe. Moreover, the denizens of this Earth were perpetually stuck in the 1990s with a futuristic flair from their clothing, architecture and technology, which were all the result of the Second Impact disrupting human progress at the beginning of the new millennium, something that the Avengers were unaware of as they were more used to the more advanced and sophisticated back home. The denizens of Tokyo-3 were split on who these people were in the first place. Some were unaware they were the Avengers, while others knew who they were from translated and homemade material featuring them, such as comics and manga. Regardless, neither side knew that these Avengers came from another Earth different from the material some read and were transported to their world through the blue portal after Thanos performed the Snap.

For the Avengers, it was important for them to learn this world's rules and its ins and outs to survive, as it was devoid of costumed superheroes. But learning them was not easy, given that many had little to no understanding of it and it was in the middle of the night.

"Um...This is awkward". Thor said. "We're in Japan and people are awkwardly looking at us like we're strangers."

"I''m feeling really nervous here," Hulk told the others.

However, Ant-Man and the Wasp knew the world they were in and thus understood the situation better than the other Avengers. The Wasp also suggested to the Avengers what should be done next.

"Everyone, I know this situation is strange but I do have a plan for how we should conduct ourselves in this world. I know what it is: Neon Genesis Evangelion, a popular anime and manga franchise from Japan. I've watched all 26 episodes of the original series including The End of Evangelion. This world was ravaged by the Second Impact and the world is under attack by the Angels and it's relying on pilots for machines of war known as the Evangelions under the authority of NERV which is being controlled by a secret society known as SEELE who want to forcibly turn all human beings into a single lifeform" The Wasp explained to the Avengers.

"To survive in this world, we must make ourselves familiar to the denizens to earn their trust especially that of the pilots and the staff of NERV so we can save this world from the Third Impact".

Naturally, the Wasp explained this world to her colleagues in English, while the denizens of Tokyo-3 could not understand them as many spoke only Japanese. The denizens continued to stare in curiosity and nervousness over these costumed individuals. The Wasp turned to the denizens looking at her and the others and knew they must move to find a place to stay while finding a cause for why they ended up here.

"Okay, we better get going and find the nearest hotel to stay since I doubt the pilots and NERV would welcome us at first". The other Avengers followed the Wasp's lead to find a hotel to stay and walked past the denizens looking at them. As the Avengers of Earth-191208 went through the streets of Tokyo-3, they began to notice the posters in the city which said "Where Do We Go, Now That They're Gone" in the native tongue of the people living there which gave a clue for why they came here though none knew it. The Wasp and her husband Ant-Man, were fluent in Japanese and could recognize what the posters said.

"You know those posters in Japanese. They say 'Where Do We Go, Now That They're Gone'. From what I can infer, it seems as though this world suffered a recent cataclysm".

"Really?" asked Iron Man.

"Yeah, it's the most recent one and they've already gone through the Second Impact which took out half of all life on this planet".

"Seems as though this world has undergone another cataclysm like this Second Impact. Maybe it might have involved people turning to dust," said Captain America.

"We don't know what caused this recent cataclysm yet so we must find out for ourselves".

The Avengers then saw a taxi in Tokyo-3 on their trip to a place to stay and the Wasp called out "Taxi!" in Japanese twice enough for the driver of this particular vehicle to notice and stop to let them in. As the driver only spoke Japanese, the Wasp was fluent in his language and thus could communicate with him.

"Kon'nichiwa, unten-sha."

"Watashitachi no namae wa, Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym, Bill Foster, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner and James Rhodes. Dai 3 shintokyoshi no chizu o onegaishimasu"

"Dai 3 shintokyoshi o otozureru kankokyaku no shudan no yodesu ka? Sate, korega kono subarashi toshi no chizudezu". The driver handed the Wasp and the other Avengers maps of Tokyo-3 to familiarize themselves with the city and know where to go next. Apart from Ant-Man, the other Avengers knew little to no Japanese, so they turned to him and the Wasp to point them to a place to stay. They looked carefully at the map's locations and found a place to accommodate them: Anno Hotel. The Wasp then announced to her colleagues that they should go to Anno Hotel to stay for the time being.

"Guys, I think I've found a place to stay. It's called Anno Hotel and we can book there so we can get used to this world and find the source of who or what is behind the disappearance of half of all life on our world".

"Well, I guess a hotel would be a nice place to stay assuming it's decent. Avengers, we must head to Anno Hotel or whatever it is" Iron Man told the Wasp in a snarky manner.

The Wasp turned to the driver and asked him to take them to Anno Hotel. The driver who had handed her and the Avengers maps of Tokyo-3 was more than happy to comply with her request.

"Unten-sha, An'no hoteru made okutte kudasai."

"Wakatta yo. Shikashi, sono zen ni unchin o shiharawanakeraba narimasen".

The Wasp had her wallet inside her nano-armor and took it out to pay the driver in US dollars. Afterwards, the driver stepped on the taxi's pedal to take the Avengers to Anno Hotel as quickly as possible before they gained the notice of the more powerful and notable people in this world. Thor began to ask the Wasp and Ant-Man more about what the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion was and what to know.

"So I wanted to ask you something this Ay-va-gelion world you and Hank are talking about. I'm not too familiar about it and know only a couple of details. As such, I want to know more about it."

"Well, you've come to the masters of information about this world," said the Wasp. "First of all, it's Eee-van-geh-lee-an not Ay-va-gelion. Second, Evangelion is a world where humanity was created by a being known as Lilith as in the one from Jewish mysticism and is associated with Adam's first wife. Well, the Lilith here is not the one you know, she or rather it is the Seed of Life for humanity and all life on this Earth after crashing violently there in the First Impact. And speaking of Adam, it too was a Seed of Life but for Angels and tried to stop Lilith but it couldn't."

"Wait...What do you mean by 'it'?". Thor asked about Lilith and Adam.

"Well, the Angels are essentially cosmic aliens who gave up their humanity and thus have no preset gender". "They come in all shapes and sizes and look very strange kinda like the Angels of the Bible. The Japanese call them shito".

"Their humanity?!"

"The Angels don't have any easily discernable one mind you".

"Interesting..." Iron Man interrupted.

"Hey, let me finish what I and Hank have to say, please."

"Alright, Janet."

Janet then began to explain further about this world. "After the actions of Lilith and Adam, the world went more or less like our own for millennia that is until the year 2000 came. It wasn't the Y2K bug that caused the Second Impact. No, it was the reawakening of Adam in the Katsuragi Expedition and the subsequent destruction of Antarctica that caused the Second Impact resulting in warfare, environmental damage, refugees pouring into other countries and the submerging of this Earth's coastal regions and islands, well most of them anyway. When the nations of this Earth eventually came to their senses and signed the Valentine Cease-Fire, half of all life was gone and things were never the same after this. The Second Impact left an irreparable scar on this world and the denizens simply had to live with the circumstances."

"Human civilization continued to exist in spite of the Second Impact but the United Nations took greater responsibility in the day-to-day affairs of world governments to ensure they would survive. Over the last 15 years, the UN formed the scientific research agency Gehirn and it's successor NERV for the purpose of discovering more about the Second Impact and developing the Evangelions to defend the Earth from the Angels".

"These Evangelions are piloted not by fully-grown, professional soldiers but 14-year-old children whose mothers' souls are powering them. They are not your typical anime mecha robots. They are heavily armored mecha to be sure but they're actually lobotomized and artificially-cloned Angels created by NERV. Yeah, this world was screwed so badly by the Second Impact that they're relying on children to fight giant alien monsters like the Angels". Ant-Man explained to the other Avengers besides the Wasp.

"In Japan, the Evangelion pilots stationed there consist of Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, Rei Ayanami, Toji Suzuhura and Mari Illustrious Makinami. Shinji is the son of the abusive NERV Commander Gendo Ikari who was forced into becoming a pilot by him and lost her mother Yui at the young age of 4 during an experiment with Evangelion Unit-01. Yui is also inside the Evangelion Unit-01. Asuka is a foreign exchange student of German, Japanese and American descent who also saw her mother Kyoko die during an experiment. In this case, Kyoko committed suicide as she wanted herself and her daughter to die who she thought was the doll and not Asuka. Rei is the clone of the aforementioned Yui and Lilith and almost no one but Gendo and others know about it. Mari is a half-British, half-Japanese student who just transferred from abroad to study and continue her work as an Evangelion pilot. She didn't suffer as much tragedy and inner turmoil as Shinji, Asuka and Rei but did lose her mother in an experiment gone wrong and has been living with her father ever since. Lastly, there is one more Evangelion pilot I forgot to mention. His or rather it's name is Tabris who is the human Kaworu Nagisa and would have been Asuka's replacement in the series but we don't know if he's alive or dead after this cataclysm".

With the exceptions of Mari and Kaworu, every pilot is suffering from inner turmoil and not in the best mental health. There are probably more Evangelion pilots across the world and who knows what they're like. Speaking of inner turmoil, Lieutenant Colonel Misato Katsuragi of NERV lost his father Hideaki during the Katsuragi Expedition hence why it's called that and later her mother".

"In fact, Rei, Asuka and Misato are putting on outward personalities like being haughty and brash or cheery and messy to hide their turmoil. They don't have anyone else to turn to for mental help and neither does Shinji".

"Of course, the biggest thing about this world is that a secret organization known as SEELE is manipulating world governments, the United Nations and NERV to achieve their goal of forcibly transforming all human beings into one single lifeform with Rei and Kaworu as a key part of this so there would be no more chaos or disorder as part of what is known as the Human Instrumentality Project which will lead to the Third Impact if we do nothing. Jan and I know this and we must use this knowledge to prevent the Third Impact from coming to pass".

"What!" Iron Man muttered. "So this world is so messed up that they're willing to use children to fight their war against the Angels and there's a secret society trying to transform every human being into one human being".

"Yes," Ant-Man and the Wasp yelled. The driver had heard of what Hank and Janet explained to the other Avengers about this world and thought this was an amusing conversation and nothing more, given the language barrier between them. He and many of the world's denizens were unaware that the Avengers knew the Human Instrumentality Project and the Impacts and were out to save this world from further destruction at the hands of Gendo and SEELE.

"So, concerning this world, I'm guessing we have to fight this SEELE and Gendo, right?" asked War Machine.

"Exactly," said the Wasp.

"Ne, nan'ninka ga eigo de nanika ni tsuite hanashite iru no o kikimashita ka. Sore ga nandatta?" The driver asked in Japanese.

The Wasp was nervous about giving too much away and felt the driver might discuss with someone else, least of all Gendo or anyone affiliated with SEELE. She knew that it was best to tell him something that didn't match what she, Hank and the others said in their native language.

"A, soreha wa dai 3 Tokyo e no ryoko no keikaku ni tsuitedeshita".

"Wa wa, watashi mo so omoimashita. Tomoare, dai 3 tokyoryoko o tanoshinde kudasai".

The Avengers quietly looked on for the rest of the trip as the driver took them to Anno Hotel and did not say another word. The taxi eventually arrived at Anno Hotel.

"Minasan, iyoiyo mokutekichi ni tochakudesu" The driver announced.

"He means we've finally reached our destination".

The Wasp and the other Avengers got out of the taxi to get to Anno Hotel to book their stay there. Inside, the Avengers saw guests coming in and leaving the hotel. The hotel like the rest of Tokyo-3 was a blend of the 1990s and the future or how the denizens see it as such. Iron Man then spoke with the hotel clerk for their stay. Unlike the driver, the hotel clerk was female and spoke enough English.

"Hey, ma'am".

"Yes".

"I would like to book a room for my friends".

"Tourists as usual. You've come to the right place. Welcome to Anno Hotels. How long do you want your stay to be?"

"Eh...I guess two months".

"Alright. You will stay in this hotel for two months. Enjoy your stay," the hotel clerk told Iron Man as she gave him a key to the hotel room.

"Also, you don't seem to have any luggage with you".

"Uh, um...Well...I...Let's just say, we kinda forgot it at the airport". "Anyway, thanks". The Avengers go up the stairs to get to their room and Ant-Man looks at Iron Man regarding their lack of luggage for the stay.

"Well, we're lucky enough to get into this hotel without our stuff. You weren't exactly great in responding to the hotel lady though it could have been much worse"

"Hey, at least I tried my best."

The Avengers continued up the stairs until they finally reached their room. Like the rest of the hotel, it was futuristic even if its technology was firmly in the 1990s. Iron Man used the keys to open the door to let him and the other Avengers in. Here, they could stay for now and find a solution to their current problem as well as provide assistance to this world.

"Well, this is our home for the time being," Iron Man said of the hotel as he sat on the left bed. "We're going to find a solution to what happened and help out the others".

Along with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and War Machine went to the left bed while Goliath and Hulk went to the right to get some good night's sleep. Iron Man sat on the bad with War Machine as Ant-Man and the Wasp looked at the window to catch a glimpse of Tokyo-3. For Earth's Mightiest Heroes from their world, Earth-95 was strange and unusual and a secret organization in SEELE was trying to take away the freedoms of all. Despite this, they would not let SEELE succeed in their plans and eventually help the pilots as much as possible.

Misato's Apartment, Tokyo-3

Morning rose again on Earth-95, including the people of Tokyo-3, and the Children, Misato and Pen-Pen, were no exception. They had rested well with the knowledge that they were not alone and that the Multiverse existed. They intended to do something about it but were unaware that the Avengers from another world had already come and were trying to find a way back home and help them out. The Children, Misato and Pen-Pen, had their breakfast as usual and were ready to start the day by getting properly dressed while Pen-Pen was here to be with them as usual.

For Misato, the day went as usual for her. As she was getting dressed, Misato still had the painful reminder of not just Kaji's death but what happened 15 years ago when her father Hideaki and a group of human scientists discovered Adam, Lilith and the Lance of Longius in the Katsuragi Expedition, only for things to go horribly wrong and claim the lives of everyone involved including her father. Misato herself was the lone survivor ever since Hdeaki sent her in an escape capsule, never to see each other again. She could only stare silently with a tear in her right eye as she was getting dressed with the scar from the failed Katsuragi Expedition in the center of her body and the Christian cross from her father, who was a devout believer and wore it on his neck as a reminder of his faith. Misato then heard ringing at her apartment's door and rushed to open it to see who it was. It was none other than Shinji's classmate Mana Kirishima who was here to meet with him at the behest of her family.

"Oh it's you, Mana".

"Hello, Misato-san. How's Shinji doing?".

"He's doing just fine."

"I came here to check up on him and see if he's okay."

"Well, that's generous of you to come here for Shinji. Come right in". With Misato's permission, Mana went into her apartment to see Shinji again as she had before since the T-RIDEN-T incident. Mana, like the other denizens of Earth-95, experienced the Snap and while she was lucky that the Snap claimed none of her family, she did learn from her superiors within the Japanese Strategic Self-Defense Force that Musashi Lee Strasberg and Keita Asari were claimed by this cataclysm which left a gap in her life as their loss saddened her but didn't want this to deter her will and mission. She had intended to reveal this information to Shinji and the others but their focus was on lunch and thus held off from it. Now, Mana was with Shinji again and could tell him what happened to her friends in the Snap.

In the kitchen room, Shinji was with Asuka, Rei and Mari, fully dressed and ready for what would come next. None expected to see Mana and Asuka was dismayed at her presence when she greeted them.

"Good morning, everyone," Mana said to the Children.

"Mana...Well, nice to see you here," Shinji told her.

"Seriously! Why are you even there!?" Asuka furiously asked.

"I just wanted to drop by and tell Shinji something. Misato allowed me into her home".

"Uhhhh...Okay".

Mana pulled a chair for her and Shinji to sit in. Shinji saw this and decided to sit on this chair. Mana also pulled chairs for Asuka, Rei and Mari as well and Misato noticed this enough to get them to sit.

"Everyone, Mana wants us to sit down. Get into the chairs." Asuka, Rei, and Mari sat down with Misato and Shinji to hear her discuss what Mana had to say, even if the former didn't want to. Pen-Pen was also here to hear what they had to say as well. Mana began to open her mouth.

"I want everyone in this room to know that my family is alive and well and they're providing aid to people devastated by this cataclysm, anyone who lost their loved ones when it occurred. I was lucky enough to avoid turning to dust as was my family but I learned from the JSSDF that Musashi Lee Strasberg and Keita Asari were gone and their loved ones are left grieving. I came here to share this important news so that you can understand what I'm going through and the situation right now".

"You know, I always wanted to see if you were some sort of spy for the JSSDF trying to steal secrets from NERV on the Evangelions for the T-RIDEN-T Land Cruiser project or not. I've pondered this for some time since you came to our school and I still don't know," Asuka asked Mana with full contempt.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I wanted everyone to know what was happening..."

"Hey, you better not be stealing secrets from NERV you traitorous bitch!" Asuka yelled as she put her hands down on the table and pointed her finger at her. The others were uncomfortable with Asuka's behavior, with Misato urging her to calm down.

"Asuka, can you please just calm down? We don't know if she's a spy or not and besides, she has been nothing but nice to us".

Asuka stood down at Misato's behest. The other Children and Misato would then share their thoughts on what Misato said.

"Kirishima-san, thank you for sharing your story to us. We've been through this situation like you and I hope you can preserve after this cataclysm." Shinji said.

"It's not easy after what happened and you seem okay for the most part," Rei told Mana.

"You and your family were lucky to survive this catastrophe. Good for you," Mari said.

"Well, we've all shared our thoughts for what Mana had to say, except you Asuka. Just simply say something related to her situation, please," Misato asked Asuka.

Asuka sighed but wanted to fulfill Misato's wish nonetheless. She came up with a half-hearted response, "Well like Mari said, you were pretty lucky".

"Uhh...Thanks for your thoughts Asuka," Misato awkwardly replied.

The Children, Misato, Pen-Pen and Mana had all been affected by the cataclysm, as were so many others and had something to say about the altered status quo. However, Shinji's thoughts turned to NERV's recent discovery of the Multiverse and he was curious about what his father and Ritsuko were up to now.

"Misato-san".

"Yes, Shinji".

"What about NERV and the Multiverse? Have they found something new or not?" Shinji asked Misato.

"I don't know".

"I think we should go to NERV HQ and ask my father and Ritsuko-san about the Multiverse".

"Perhaps". The other Children agreed with Shinji's proposal to visit the NERV HQ and were curious.

"Shinji is right, we should visit the NERV HQ and find out what is going on behind the scenes," Rei said.

"Of course," Mari told the others.

"Well, I sure want to know what NERV has for us in store regarding this Multiverse," Asuka wondered.

Mana was curious about what the Children and Misato said of the Multiverse and wanted to come with them to NERV HQ.

"Shinji, I'm fascinated about this Multiverse you and the others are talking about. Can I please come to NERV HQ?". Shinji was nervous about bringing Mana along since she was not part of NERV and felt that an outsider learning confidential secrets would cause trouble. As such, he chose not to bring her along.

"Mana, you can't join us for the visit to NERV HQ".

"Why?" asked Mana.

"This is extremely confidential and they don't want you to leak such sensitive secrets".

"Yeah, since you're a spy".

"Asuka!".

"I understand, Shinji. I won't be coming along and I'll just leave to be with my family". Mana was content with Shinji's choice as she knew he wanted her to be safe and left Misato's apartment. Once Mana left, the Children packed their bags with their plugsuits and walked with Misato to get into the Renault Alpine and meet with Gendo and Ritsuko at the NERV Headquarters. Misato started the Alpine and drove from her apartment to NERV HQ. Unbeknownst to them, there were already visitors from another world who came to their world by accident and were about to change the course of history.

NERV Headquarters, Tokyo-3

Ritsuko and Gendo looked at the current draft of the Multiverse document in the control room. Since the Kosmos experiment yesterday, Ritsuko was non-stop writing up this confidential document containing every known detail of the Multiverse to her and the rest of NERV and unknowingly SEELE. The document was not yet finished, missing a few details, but it was close. Ritsuko had some words for Gendo on this document.

"Commander Ikari, this document is almost finished. There are some touches or additional details which need to be made but it will be finished". Ritsuko informed Gendo.

"Good, Dr. Akagi."

"Everything is going smoothly. We'll have this document complete today".

As Gendo silently walked from the hard at work, Ritsuko, Misato and the Children got out of the Alpine and went to the NERV Headquarters for synchronization and knowledge of the Multiverse. As usual, they greeted the NERV staff and took the elevator to the control room. By the time they arrived, Ritsuko was writing the rest of the document and unsurprisingly, she instructed them on synchronization.

"Hello, Ritsuko-san."

"Hello, Misato-san".

"So, regarding this Multiverse stuff, we're curious about what you have in store for us. Are you ready share our findings?"

"No, not yet. And your first priority is to ensure the pilots have the proper synchronization rate for their Evangelions".

In a hustle, the Children got to the control chambers to synchronize with their Evangelions as Misato, Ritsuko, Maya and Makoto watched inside. For the synchronization, the pilots closed their eyes as a blue flare flashed inside the Test Plugs. The monitor on the Evangelion Units displayed the names of the Children and indicated they were okay. The others took note of what was happening.

"He's almost at the contamination zone," Maya told the others about Shinji's synchronization rate.

"And he's still putting out values like these? That's impressive", Ritsuko said.

"His harmonics and synch rates values are closing in on Asuka's".

"I wonder if this is a sort of talent."

Makoto admired Shinji's impressive synchronization rates and suggested, "he was born to pilot an Eva." Conversely, Misato noted that Shinji was good with his Evangelion even if "he doesn't want to" and didn't seem to enjoy this.

The synchronization session for the Children ended as usual, with the Test Plugs opening up. Their eyes opened too before Misato, Ritsuko, Maya, and Makoto. In particular, Misato liked Shinji's synchronization rates.

"Shinji, you did very well"

"What did I do?" asked Shinji.

"Your harmonics levels are up eight points from last time." Conversely, Asuka was impressed by Shinji's synchronization but didn't come quite as close to hers as he was "still 50 below me!". Ritsuko quickly reminded Asuka that Shinji achieved "eight points in ten days," but she still saw herself as above him and mocked his accomplishments.

After the synchronization, the Children returned to Misato's apartment for a simple meal. That meal would be pizza with seafood and sashimi ordered from a restaurant as takeout by Misato herself before they were home.

Misato's Apartment, Tokyo-3

The night had fallen once more on the new capital of Japan as Misato and the Children were in the apartment. They had their pizza with LCL as a refreshment though Misato went with her usual beer, and Pen-Pen was present with them as before. With a table full of pizza, Asuka began to speak about how this meal was different without her best friend Hikari, Toji, or Kensuke present, along with topics about the Multiverse and synchronization.

"Well, this meal sure seems different with Hikari and Kensuke not around any more or in Toji's case not having the time to do so. We also got some information from Ritsuko on this Multiverse thing but couldn't share it with us so we went off to do synchronization. I mean, could you imagine how this day would have gone if half of all life suddenly dissipate from existence".

"Maybe Hikari and Kensuke would be with us and we might not have gone to that pizza restaurant for a meal," Shinji said.

"Shinji, I would have ordered pizza for Hikari if she were alive once we got back from our synchronization."

"There are multiple possibilities of how our lives could have gone had this Snap not hit our world," Rei discussed with the Children. "For what we know, there could have been an Angel attack or a natural disaster two weeks ago and it would affect our lives".

"Had this been the case, we would doing different things than a simple late night meal," Mari noted.

Whatever the case that it might have been for this world, the Children gorged on the pizza, and it filled the rest of their thoughts afterward.

Anno Hotel, Tokyo-3

The Avengers were slowly adjusting to this new and unfamiliar world, with a room in Anno Hotel as their temporary home. The Earth's Mightiest Heroes of Earth-191208 wanted to figure out what suddenly caused them to come here through the blue portal. Ant-Man and the Wasp gazed through the window to see the full moon shining upon this world and the people living there, including them, as they were displaced for now. As the night covered the skies of this world, some of the Avengers were already preparing to go to bed by lying on one of them, but Ant-Man and the Wasp were still gazing through the window and were curious yet afraid of what was to come next.

"Hey lovebirds, you seem to be standing up there looking at that window. You seem to be contemplating your relationship?" Iron Man snarked.

"No, Tony. This world is familiar to us because we've watched Evangelion and know what will happen next if we do nothing: SEELE will launch an attack on NERV, Shinji will have a mental breakdown and choke Asuka and Instrumentality will begin through the Third Impact, leaving behind a world further ravaged than before even with the possibility of survival". The Wasp told Iron Man.

"So if we fail to stop this Instrumentality, we'll be absorbed by this Lilith, right?" Iron Man asked.

"Correct".

"Well, either way: We've checked off step one of trying to survive in this crazy, strange anime world."

As the Avengers went to bed, Ant-Man and the Wasp gazed through the window for a while. The full moon shined through their room at Anno Hotel above as the crime-fighting couple got to bed with them.

The Next Day. NERV Headquarters, Tokyo-3

Ritsuko had ten pages of a document on the Multiverse she compiled as a file, or at least as far as she and the others knew about it. Each page covered a world seen by Kosmos and she had outlined a basic description of what they were based on her knowledge of them. In the case of Marvel and DC, Ritsuko had to go off from not just what she saw on the machine but the movies and TV shows based on the superheroes in her world, which were not the ones found in other worlds as she only watched a couple of said movies with Misato and the Children at the local theatre usually for a double feature for her friend who wanted to watch another movie and fill her stomach as well as the Children themselves. The Children generally enjoyed watching them or at least could tolerate depending on how interested they were. For Shinji, watching a superhero movie was preferrable to seeing another horror flick like The Ring, The Grudge or Audition with the former in particular causing him to wee and run out of the theater, much to Misato's dismay. The Second Impact affected film production so much that entire studios across the world had to rebuild, go bankrupt (especially for the smaller ones) or merge with another studio to survive, not to mention that cities or towns that were not obliterated by nuclear weapons welcomed the surviving staff along with new ones to help them. Marvel only had the rights to the characters which they didn't sell to other studios during it's brief period of bankruptcy and intended to make films about characters such as Iron Man or Captain America under the subsidiary Marvel Studios, but with the Second Impact, the House of Ideas could reclaim the rights to those they had sold like Spider-Man and the X-Men through agreements to share them with Sony and 20th Century Fox for the sake of staying alive in a radically changed world. Marvel was even bought out by Disney alongside most of 20th Century Fox sooner because of the after-effects of the Second Impact. As for DC, their parent company Warner Bros went full steam ahead with plans for not just films based on the Trinity but a shared universe for their superheroes. Since then, Marvel and DC have been putting out films and TV shows set in their ever-expansive cinematic universes to great success.

Yet Ritsuko noticed something was "off" about these Marvel and DC superheroes. They looked rather different in appearance and had other aspects that distinguished them from the movies and shows of her world, such as Supergirl coming from the fictitious National City or the absence of Wolverine and Mr. Fantastic among the surviving Avengers. Was this some reality where Marvel and DC turned out differently, she thought?

But what was more shocking to Ritsuko was the sudden appearance of another reality identical to theirs, save that Shinji knew a blonde woman with an American accent who told him that her daughter was gone in this Snap. To her and the others, the thought of them existing elsewhere in this Multiverse was strange and shocking and Ritsuko thought they might even meet their alternate selves someday.

As Ritsuko reviewed the Multiverse file, Gendo entered the control room after inspecting the NERV Headquarters. He went over to Ritsuko and asked her about the document.

"Dr. Akagi."

"Yes, Commander Ikari".

"What is the status of the document?"

"The document is finished and we will make copies of it for the rest of NERV to read".

"Good. We will be able to assess the worlds of this Multiverse and see what we can do about it in the near-future". What Ritsuko and much of NERV didn't know was that Gendo intended to use the information on the Multiverse to aid SEELE in detecting any outside threats to their plans. Conversely, Gendo was unaware of the Earth-191208 Avengers' presence in his reality, where they stayed at Anno Hotel as a temporary residence with plans to prevent the Third Impact from coming to pass and help his son Shinji as well as the other Children. For now at least, Gendo was confident that his plans to be with his deceased wife Yui, through the Human Instrumentality Project, were safe and secure despite the after-effects of the Snap.

Misato's Apartment, Tokyo-3

The morning went as usual for Shinji, the Children, Misato, and Pen-Pen: They got up from their beds and went to the living room to eat breakfast with discussions of the relevant topics of the day. This time, Toji was here after he called Shinji last night to ask if he could come to Misato's apartment to fill in for the deceased Kensuke. Shinji subsequently handed Misato the phone to inform her to allow him in. Like Shinji, Toji was an Evangelion pilot working for NERV and was selected as such after his younger sister Sakura was injured during Shinji's battle with Sachiel. Toji volunteered to become a pilot on the condition that Sakura would receive medical assistance. Things were now different for Toji with Sakura gone, and now being an Evangelion pilot meant doing this for her. The Children (Toji included) were waiting for their day at school when Misato spoke with Shinji's teacher on the phone.

"Hello, sensei. Yes, this is Katsuragi Misato speaking. I just wanted to inform you that some of your students won't be here as they'll be at NERV for something special. I'm bringing Ikari Shinji, Soryu Langley Asuka, Ayanami Rei, Suzuhura Toji and Makinami Illustrious Mari to NERV HQ for the purpose of this visit". The Children overheard Misato speaking to the old teacher in another room, with Toji even whispering why Misato was bringing them to NERV.

"Hey, why's Misato bringing us to NERV HQ again."

"I don't know," Shinji told Toji.

The Children's plans were changed by Misato and they wondered if this would be yet another synchronization session. Toji, in particular, hoped for something big to happen with his position as an Evangelion pilot for this visit to NERV HQ.

"Anyway, I'm glad we can come to an understanding. Goodbye". Those were the last words Misato said to the old teacher before he hung up the phone and went over to see the Children. To her surprise, they had been watching her all the time.

"Well, you were here watching me all the time," Misato noted.

"Uh, Misato-san. We just wanted to learn what your plans are for us".

"You'll learn what it is when we get there." The Children would then pack their bags with plugsuits and Misato took them with her to the Renault Alpine to drive to the NERV HQ to speak with Ritsuko on the Multiverse though they were not aware of it yet.

Anno Hotel, Tokyo-3

It was the second day for the Avengers in Tokyo-3 since their arrival on Earth-95 through the blue portal. They had gotten up from their beds to shower and get ready to save an entire universe from the machinations of Gendo and NERV. But first, they had gone down in their hero guises to eat breakfast. Their breakfast was a mix of Western and Japanese, not exactly what the Avengers are used to, but it was tasty and filled their stomachs. Inside Anno Hotel, some of the denizens took notice of the Avengers, thinking they were a bunch of cosplayers who looked great and wanted to take a picture or sign an autograph. The Avengers treated this newfound publicity with ease and nervousness, given that Gendo and SEELE would find them out eventually.

"You know, all of this newfound publicity and attention from the people of Tokyo-3 seems a bit...distracting. Who knows, this Gendo might be here at any minute", Thor said.

The Wasp sighed at Thor's comment since the others were unaware of their true status and thought they were cosplayers, a notion she and the other Avengers decided to play along with. "Minasan, issho ni shashin o tottari sain o shi tari shi ni kite kudasai". The Avengers, for now, were stuck taking photos or signing the autographs of those around them.

Tokyo-3, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

As usual, Misato arrived at NERV HQ with the Children and went into the building to meet with Ritsuko in the control room.

"Good morning, Ritsuko!".

"Misato. You came here for something special haven't you?".

"Yes. I want to know about the Multiverse doc you're working on".

"It's fully finished. I will be sharing this doc with the rest of NERV very soon and you are lucky to be one of the first people to see it". Ritsuko then promptly handed the document on the Multiverse from the desk marked "CONFIDENTIAL." This document, officially titled "The NERV Multiverse Files," was handed over to Misato, who went over it to look at the most interesting details, such as the Marvel and DC worlds, as she had watched some movies based on these characters with the Children at the local theatre or that another world like theirs existed. Afterward, Misato handed the doc back to Ritsuko for safekeeping.

Amidst all this, Toji was becoming rather impatient as he wanted to fight an Angel and asked Misato when it would happen.

"Hey, when do I get to fight an Angel?".

"Whoah, whoah, whoah. We don't know if there is an Angel coming to Tokyo-3 so just wait, please".

Since the other Children had their synchronization yesterday, Toji couldn't do it with his Evangelion and was unhappy that his first day was more or less nothing to him.

Misato took the Children to sit near the vending machine of NERV HQ to take a break for now.

At the Anno Hotel, the Avengers of Earth-191208 felt exhausted from taking photos or signing autographs of curious civilians. They simply wanted to go out and buy something and stay in their rooms to rest. "Sate, kore de shashin to sain wa owaridesu. Ichinichiju wa dekinainode sayonara," The Wasp announced to the people inside the hotel as she and the other Avengers retired to their room. The Avengers were glad to have some peace and quiet to organize their plans for saving Earth-95 from Gendo and SEELE.

"We're finally back at our rooms to figure out what to do next against SEELE and Instrumentality," Ant-Man said.

"Those people sure were passionate about their heroes", Goliath remarked.

"Yeah, the crowd was really into us," Iron Man said.

"Still, we should not let this attention from the crowd to stop us in our mission to save this world.", said the Wasp.

The Avengers were familiar with the Angels through the Wasp's knowledge of Evangelion and understood that one of them would attack Tokyo-3. However, an Angel was coming into the city much sooner than they had anticipated.

Back at NERV Headquarters, Misato and the Children were sitting near the vending machine unsure of what was going to happen. Toji, in particular, was bored and wanted to see some action.

"Man, when do we get to see some action against the Angels?", Toji asked.

"We don't know yet so be patient please", Misato told Toji.

"You have to understand that I'm doing this for my sister. She's in the hospital because of what happened ago and I want to make her proud here."

"I know. I just hope you don't die or get injured on your first day of piloting an Evangelion before your sister finds out".

Misato and the Children continued to sit near the vending machine, waiting for what to do next since they didn't have their scheduled Synchronization. A voice then boomed from one of the loudspeakers, recognized as Ritsuko's.

"Angel detected in orbit over the Indian Ocean," Ritsuko announced. "All NERV staff must take urgent action against the Angel immediately".

With Ritsuko's words, Misato and the Children rushed to meet with Ritsuko in the computer room. When they arrived, Misato asked what this Angel was.

"What is the Angel in orbit over the Indian Ocean?"

"The Angel is Sahaquiel. It is an Angel resembling an amoeba with an orange hue and two yellow-green eyes. Sahaquiel has already entered the hemisphere and is headed to Tokyo-3. It took out our satellites when we made first contact with it".

"Don't worry Ritsuko. We will get ourselves ready to face this Angel threat".

"Yes! Finally some action!" Toji yelled. The other Children looked at him due to the tone of his voice upon learning that an Angel would attack Tokyo-3.

"Uh, sorry. I just wanted to express my excitement at fighting an Angel and saving Tokyo-3".

"Regardless, we must stop this Angel before it inflicts further damage upon the rest of the world."

Misato and the Children exited the computer room to prepare for battle against Sahaquiel. The Children, as usual, changed from their casual clothes to their Plugsuits with Shinji even peeking at Mari as he did with Asuka once, much to the former's displeasure.

In Anno Hotel and the rest of Tokyo-3, the Avengers heard an announcement in Japanese similar to the one made by Ritsuko in NERV Headquarters. This announcement mentioned Special Declaration D-17, in which all civilians of Tokyo-3 were to evacuate to ensure their safety while the city raised it's defenses as it did before against Matarel. The Avengers knew it was time to step in and help the Children in the fight against Angels, starting with Sahaquiel.

"Sahaquiel is here. We must make our stand against it to assist Shinji and the Children," The Wasp noted to her colleagues.

"Well, if it means saving the world, then I'm all for it", Iron Man said.

"Agreed," the Hulk told Iron Man and the Wasp.

Iron Man suited up in his nano armor and rushed outside the room alongside the other Avengers to fight Sahaquiel to the interest of the civilian onlookers.

Misato was with the Children at the control cages of their respective Evangelions, ready to face Sahaquiel. For Toji, the time was finally here for him to "kick Angel ass" as he put it to Misato's curiosity.

"Everyone. We are now facing the latest Angel threat in Sahaquiel. It's the first in two weeks since Matarel and we're counting on all of you to stop it," Misato outlined to the Children. "You are to catch this Angel with your hands through the A.T. Field at maximum power".

"Ehhh...You mean we're supposed to capture this Angel with our hands? But what if we can't maintain impact with it?" Asuka asked.

"Then it's game over."

"What are the odds?" Shinji asked.

"Who knows for sure but either way I hope you can catch that Angel".

"It would be a miracle for all of us," Asuka said.

"Miracles are only worth a damn when you make them happen," Misato explained to the Children.

"Whatever the challenge, we must work efficiently to stop this Angel," Mari told the others.

"May I gain your attention?" Gendo asked through a public speaker. "This is our most important mission since the cataclysm claimed half of all life on this planet and it rests on your shoulders to stop it in it's tracks. That includes you Shinji."

Shinji felt a little nervous hearing his rather distant if not abusive father's words on the recent Angel threat but inside his mind, he reminded himself that he mustn't run away and step up to the challenge.

Afterwards, the Children took the elevator to pilot their Evangelions with Misato in another room alongside Ritsuko, Gendo, Makoto and Maya. "T minus 70 minutes to estimated time of impact," Misato announced on the public speaker. The Children were prepared for the next mission.

"For this mission, you will have units from NERV to assist you against the Angel. We do not want you to face this threat alone so we have brought some of our best soldiers to help you in the fight," Misato told the Children.

Shinji and the Children were glad to receive assistance from the rest of NERV in combating Sahaquiel in the wake of the cataclysm claiming half of all life on the planet. For Shinji, he knew his father expected much from him despite being rather distant and thought about him for a few minutes. Then Maya confirmed that the Angel itself was close.

"Visual confirmation at max magnification. Distance, roughly 25,000".

"Our guest has arrived. All Evas to your start positions," Misato told the Children. The Children were prepared to fight the Angel Sahaquiel and they would not face it alone as they received additional help from NERV in not just the Magi but soldiers and tanks, which were primarily drawn from the Japanese branch, while others came from international ones. These branches came together in the wake of the cataclysm to encourage greater cooperation and provide aid.

"In addition to the Magi supercomputers, you will be assisted by our military from the Japanese and international branches of NERV." Misato informed the Children. "We are here for all of you after this cataclysm."

"Nonetheless, we're counting on you."

"Angel closing in! Distance, roughly 20,000!" Makoto told Misato.

"All right, commence operation!" Misato told the Children.

"Let's do it" Shinji said to the Children. With his' and Misato's words, the Children nodded and sprung into action against Sahaquiel, jumping and running across Tokyo-3 along with NERV soldiers and tanks. When they came across Sahaquiel, NERV began firing upon the Angel to weaken it while Shinji activated the A.T. Field to maximum and grab it by its eye. Just as Shinji was holding back the Angel, he heard a strange cry.

"Creature, have at thee!" That cry came from none other than Thor of Earth-191208, who alongside the other Avengers, heard the public announcement and rushed to intervene on behalf of Tokyo-3 and Earth-95, unbeknownst to him and the others. Thor threw his hammer Mjolnir at Sahaquiel to weaken it, knocking it from the Children to allow them to take it out, while Iron Man blasted his shot from the chest of his nano armor directly at the Angel's eye though it had little effect. The Wasp advised the other Avengers on how to take on Sahaquiel.

"Just remember that this is an Angel and the only things that it can be harmed by are Evangelions and godly weapons like Mjolnir".

The Children were shocked at what they saw: Marvel superheroes from the big screen coming to life as they saw it.

"What!?" Shinji looked in confusion. "Superheroes from Marvel!?".

"Okay, I hope I'm not being deceived here. So the Avengers of all people showed up to fight the Angels!" Asuka told the others.

"This is a strange development. Who knows if any of this is real or not?" said Rei.

"Holy shit! The Avengers are here!" Toji yelled.

"Either way, we must stop Sahaquiel," Mari reminded the others.

Shinji charged first at Sahaquiel first and used the A.T. Field to contain it, but he was repulsed by one of its pieces, causing him to fall and remain unconscious.

"Shinji!" Asuka screamed. "Oh no, he's knocked out and the Angel is about to close in on us!".

Thankfully for the Children, Thor was here to conjure a thunderbolt from Mjolnir to knock out it's left marking, weakening it".

"Wow, that was pretty awesome," Toji said. "Do it again, Thor."

However, Thor looked at Toji and flew to him to tell the pilot something important.

"Hello, Mr. Toji Suzuhara. We're the Avengers and we came here to defend your world from these Angels. Anyway, you and your Children need to take that Angel out before it destroys this world".

"Okay." Thor flew off from Toji's Evangelion after the conversation.

"Hey everyone! I just spoke with Thor as in The Mighty Thor!" The other Children (barring Shinji) looked in curiosity and disbelief that actual Marvel superheroes were here, Thor included.

"Anyway, let's stop this Angel before it kills us!" Asuka said.

Meanwhile, Iron Man went to Shinji's Evangelion unit alongside Ant-Man. They shrunk down to get into the unit and found an unconscious Shinji. Ant-Man used a blue Pym disc to shrink Shinji to his size and grab him to get the boy to safety before using the red disc to grow him back to his normal size with Iron Man taking him to a nearby hospital.

Asuka charged at the weakened Sahaquiel and used the Progressive Knife to finish it off. Sahaquiel surrounded Asuka and exploded, creating a crater at Tokyo-3 though she and her Evangelion unit were fine. The city of Tokyo-3 was safe, but the biggest revelation was the appearance of the Avengers, which made the populace amazed and confused, especially as they had powers never before seen in this universe though some thought this was pyrotechnics and clever technology.

After the battle, Toji asked Thor and the other Avengers in Japanese, "Issho no kite moraemasu ka? Misetai mono ga takusan arimasu?" The Wasp, fluent in Toji's native tongue, responded simply with "Hai" or Yes as part of their plan to save the world.

The Avengers came with Toji and the other Children to meet with Misato inside the NERV HQ, who was incredibly surprised to see costumed crimefighters that sort of resembled the ones found in the movies yet at the same time didn't.

"So you're the Avengers..." Misato awkwardly told them in English.

"Wow...You actually speak the same tongue as us," Iron Man told her.

"Yeah".

"Anyway, we are the Avengers and we're here to protect this world. I'm Janet Van Dyne otherwise known as the Wasp," Janet introduced herself.

"But I thought you existed only in manga and movies?" Misato asked.

"It's complicated and we got a lot to tell you so just be patient here."

"Where's Shinji?" Misato asked.

"Oh, he's in the hospital after falling unconscious and we hope he makes a quick recovery," Iron Man told her.

Gendo's voice was heard on a public speaker asking Misato what happened.

"What caused this explosion near Tokyo-3?" Gendo asked.

"We fought an Angel known as Sahaquiel, which was coming here to destroy all of us until we had to destroy it with the help of manga superheroes."

"The Evas' mission is to destroy all Angels but this detail of manga superheroes seems strange and I suspect they must be ordinary people acting like them."

Gendo's voice warranted suspicion for the Avengers as they knew that he could find out their true nature at some point and they needed to apprehend him and prove he was planning the Human Instrumentality Project before they could get arrested. For now, the Avengers were glad that he was unaware of where they came from or who they truly were.

"So, what were you doing out there against Sahaquiel?" Misato asked the Avengers.

"We were out there to protect the Children against Sahaquiel. I threw my hammer Mjolnir at one of it's left markings to weaken it so that one of your pilots could kill it with a knife," Thor explained to Misato. "We came here through unknown circumstances but we share the same goal of protecting this world from evil."

Toji then butted in and told Misato, "Yeah, the Avengers kicked ass and helped up fight the Angel," confirming what Thor said.

Misato was so surprised to see the Avengers in her world that she offered them to work for NERV.

"Hey, do you want to work for NERV?".

The other Avengers looked nervous, given that SEELE was infiltrating NERV and someone like Gendo could find them out. For the Wasp, she knew that accepting Misato's offer could help them work to take down Gendo and stop Instrumentality.

"So concerning your offer, we just came here from a hotel with only the clothes on our backs and we need a place to stay".

"Well, you've come to the right place then. If you join NERV, we'll provide you and your friends a place to stay."

"It's a deal, then." The Wasp shook hands with Misato and, in her mind, gave the Avengers a home even as they temporarily joined NERV. The other Avengers were content that they had found a more suitable home for now but still wary of Gendo himself. Still, they got the attention of the Children and it was a crucial but fragile step in saving Earth-95 from the clutches of Gendo and NERV.

The Avengers were inside their new home in Tokyo-3, an apartment building with all the modern trappings a normal person could have. Well, modern by Earth-95 standards, anyway. The apartment and its amenities were provided by Misato and NERV as soon after they joined with the latter two covering the costs for them. Much of NERV, including Misato herself, accepted they were the real deal but were unsure of where they came from. The public, already aware of the Avengers through the movies and manga, were fascinated by their presence and wondered if they were particularly good cosplayers or not. It was 8 p.m. here and night already came to the city. The Avengers changed into their casual clothes and sat at a table with some pondering about their journey to this world so far.

"We've ended up in this universe based on a Japanese anime and stayed at a hotel until we came to fight this Angel named Sahaquiel and now we're part of this organization known as NERV, which is being infiltrated by this secret society SEELE" War Machine counted of his experience on Earth-95. "What's next, do we get to join SEELE?."

"I suspect not." Captain America told War Machine. "We've seen this before with HYDRA and SHIELD and the Human Instrumentality Project reminds me of Project Insight in taking away the freedom of all living beings on Earth. We stopped this before and we can stop Gendo and SEELE here. We just got to be careful who to trust."

"Indeed," said Goliath.

"As Steve said, we've stopped secret societies like HYDRA and their conspiracies before and we'll do it again with Gendo, SEELE and Instrumentality as long as we are careful who to trust and play our cards right," The Wasp said.

The Avengers on Earth-95 were not just set on returning to their home but saving another world from Instrumentality and helping the Children, unbeknownst to many, including the latter.

NERV HQ, Tokyo-3

Inside, Gendo was curious about these visitors. Although he was vaguely aware of the Avengers by the movies, he was not aware they came from another Earth ready to stop his and SEELE's plans once and for all. Still, he was aware that they might pose a threat to them just in case. Gendo was ready to report the information of the Avengers to his superiors and decide what to do next.

"We shall know more about these Avengers," Gendo remarked.

Hayashibara Hospital, Tokyo-3

Misato went to the Hayashibara Hospital to see how Shinji was doing at the Hayashibara Hospital. She was directed to a room where he was being kept for his safety. Shinji was lying on his bed still unconscious as he was after Sahaquiel knocked him out. Misato then inquired the nurse to know more about his conditions.

"Nurse, how is Shinji doing?"

"Currently, Shinji Ikari is unconscious and in a coma".

"How long will this coma last?" Misato asked.

"It may take up as little as three days or as much as two to three weeks".

"Well if Shinji doesn't recover in time for the Angel, we'll only have Asuka, Rei, Mari and Toji then. I just hope that Shinji makes a speedy recovery then."

With those words, Misato left the hospital hopeful for Shinji's recovery. Moreover, she had help from the Avengers and the course of history on Earth-95 was about to change for not just her but the denizens of this world.

And that was Chapter 3 of Infinity Crisis: Neon Genesis Evangelion. To be honest, this was the longest chapter I've ever written for this story or any published story so far at 10,795 words. This, coupled with some Writer's Block, personal stuff and admitted laziness on my part, is why it took a month and a half to publish it. I'm glad that I haven't abandoned this story and more will come soon.

As usual, I am here to provide the usual author's commentary:

The reason why the Avengers of Earth-191208 were transported to the time on Earth-95 two weeks after the Snap is that the cosmic barriers broke down, allowing for people to go between them sometimes to different points in time.

As curious readers like yourself know, the Avengers and other Marvel Comics characters are simply fictional stories in this universe just like our own and thus the inhabitants are unaware of their true nature yet. Moreover, the Avengers are what TV Tropes calls an Outside Context Problem in which a character or an organization came out of nowhere and people aren't sure what to make of them. This is common in crossover stories like this one and you'll see why.

As you can imagine, Anno Hotel and Hayashibara Hospital are named after series creator Hideaki Anno and voice actress Megumi Hayashibara respectively. In the latter's case, Hayashibara was a registered nurse who became a voice actress, so what better way than to name a hospital after her?

Speaking of Outside Context Problem, the Avengers in the in-universe Marvel movies are not played by their MCU actors. Instead, they're played by actors considered for these characters or might have fit them such as Tom Cruise as Iron Man and John Krasinski as Captain America hence why bystanders in Tokyo-3 thought of them as cosplayers and not the real deal.

Regarding Gendo's thoughts on the Earth-191208 Avengers, he'll soon find out that they will stop him and SEELE from enacting the Human Instrumentality Project.

On the usage of untranslated Japanese, it applies when the Wasp or another foreign character fluent in the language is speaking to a Japanese individual. It does not apply when the Japanese characters of Neon Genesis Evangelion speak with each other and not all of them are fluent in English either, like Toji Suzuhura.

For the voice cast, I imagine that it would be a mix of the original Japanese version and dub actors sharing a Japanese background such as Tiffany Grant as Asuka Langley Soryu and Janice Kawaye as Misato Katsuragi. Other examples include Hiro Kanagawa as Gendo Ikari and Trina Nishimura as Ritsuko Akagi.

As always, constructive feedback is welcome in improving this story.
