Here's chapter 13 everybody.
Chapter 13: Promise Me You Won't.
At a sports bar in St, Hewlett, Laila is getting ready to punch out while one of her co-workers is watching the news.
"It could only happen in Califia file, here's Wendy Adams with a special report." a news anchor announced.
"Below us, we can see hundreds of UFO fanatics who gathered on rooftops here in downtown St. Hewlett to welcome the new arrivals." the reporter named Wendy Adams said.
"Oh, God! I hope they bring back Elvis!" a woman at the party event said.
Laila shook her head in annoyance upon seeing the news reports while she had to go to work.
"I just came in to get my check tonight, and I got talked into working. Oh, I must have been tripping." Laila said to herself.
"It's being called the party event of the century, and everyone is invited, especially you know who." Wendy Adams reported.
"This is so cool." Laila's co-worker named Brittney said.
"Girl, please." Laila said.
"Oh, hey. I made this before I came in tonight." Brittney said as she held up a sign she made that says 'WELCOME, Make yourselves at home'. "Check it out."
"Now I know you're not thinking about joining those idiots." Laila said.
"Oh, I am going over there as soon as I get off. You want to come?" Brittney said.
"Brittney, listen to me a sec. I have got a really bad feeling about this. I don't want you to go." Laila said.
"Oh, like the really bad feeling you got when I went to November City?" Brittney asked.
"Yeah, and I was right. You didn't get the job, and you lost all your money gambling." Laila said.
"Yeah, but I wasn't in St. Hewlett for the Erusean drone attack last year." Britney said.
"Britt, I really don't want you to go up there. Now promise me you won't." Laila said.
"Oh." Brittney said with hesitation.
"Come on, girl, promise me." Laila said.
"I promise." Brittney said, not too fond of it.
"Okay. Look…I'm going. I'm going out of town for a while. Later." Laila said.
"Bye." Brittney said.
Laila then goes into another room to pick up Darius and Otis to leave.
"Hey, there's my angel. Come on." Laila said as she picks up Darius. "Come on, Otis. Let's go y'all."
As Laila is about to leave, her boss manages to see her with Darius.
"Hey, what the hell is the kid doing here, huh?" Laila's boss said before Otis tries to tackle him.
"You try finding a sitter today." Laila said as she tries to leave.
"Hey, where do you think you're going? You leave, you're fired." the boss said.
"Nice workin' with ya, Ricardo. Come on, Otis." Laila said willing to get fired as she leaves her job to get out of town.
And that's the end of the chapter. Don't got much to say. What happens when the Osean military begins their attempt to contact with the aliens and Henry warns Wilford of the alien's intentions? Find out next time in the next chapter. Please review. :)
