Chapter 16: Firestorm.
In St. Hewlett, a bright bluest-greenest light starts appearing in the middle of the open spaceship while eight triangle tip structures start moving towards the light, as if it was charging the light as it gets brighter and brighter. The people that were on the rooftops stared in amazement, Brittney among them. The eight moving structures move closer to the light until it finally stops. Suddenly, the light got brighter and brighter until a laser beam fell on the roof, but nothing happened, except making the people there flinch. Suddenly a big pulse of light traveled down the laser until it hit the roof. As soon as it hit the roof, the building exploded and collapsed, destroying the skyscraper and exploding into a massive fireball. Panic and chaos ensued on the streets below and the citizens of St. Hewlett started screaming and running for their lives as the fireball expanded.
"Oh my God!" a man said.
"RUN!" another man said.
"Get down!" another man said.
"Get out of the car!" another panic man said.
The wall of fire continued to expand, and destroyed everything in its path. Buildings, signs, and even killing people in the process, as well as setting fires everywhere. Debris from the destroyed buildings are thrown and vehicles have been lifted into the air due to the surging air from the explosion, but not before crashing down into other vehicles on the ground.
In Bana City, the same process has occurred over the city's tallest Skyscraper. As the citizens of Bana City were looking up, there was a bright light before a laser beam hit the building, followed by a pulse of bright light traveling down the laser. The light hits the skyscraper and destroys it in a massive explosion, causing panic in the streets below. People start screaming and running for their lives as the fireball is expanding. The same process follows: the wall of fire continues to expand, and destroys everything in its path; buildings, signs, and even killing people in the process, as well as setting fires everywhere. Debris from the destroyed buildings are thrown and vehicles have been lifted into the air due to the surging air from the explosion, but not before crashing down into other vehicles on the ground. As that was happening, Marvin noticed the destruction and fireball that was heading towards him.
"Oh crap…" Marvin said before a flying car came crashing into his vehicle, killing him.
In Bright Hill, a retreating helicopter was carrying the rest of the Bright Hill staff when a laser beam hit the building before a pulse of light destroyed it. It also destroyed the helicopter in the process, killing those that were inside.
At Redmill, the alien spaceship also shot a laser beam at the city's largest skyscraper before destroying it and started the firestorm.
In Bana City, the wall of fire continues to destroy the city and people are either trying to run for their lives or take shelter as the fire approaches them. The fire destroyed buildings, bridges, etc. It also destroyed the Marvin Bridge.
In St. Hewlett, the firestorm is expanding in a huge circle. The fire destroyed the harbor where an Osean naval fleet was stationed.
In Oured, the firestorm continues to expand and destroy the city, destroying the large skyscrapers in downtown Oured, including the Willis Tower and government buildings. At the Oured International Airport, Air Force One began its takeoff roll as the firestorm was approaching quickly. Inside the aircraft, there was nothing but silence as Wilford, Hurley, Edwards, Shepherd, Jennifer, Jakob, Henry and the remaining Bright Hill staff hoped the aircraft would get off the ground in time. Air Force One barely makes it off the ground before the firestorm can consume and destroy it. Air Force managed to climb to a safe altitude before heading west.
At the air base, All of the base has been evacuated and have taken of f into the air. Only Trigger, Talisman and Mobius 1 are the only pilots left to takeoff. As they began their takeoff roll, they all noticed the firestorm coming towards them.
"Strider 1 here, Preparing takeoff roll!" Trigger said.
"Come on! Come on! Take off! Move it!" Talisman said.
"Mobius 1, taking off!" Mobius 1 said.
The three ace pilots begin their takeoff roll putting their engines at full throttle, with the firestorm getting closer to them while some of their wingmen look on from the air.
"Come on, guys! Get up! Get up! CLIMB!" Count yelled.
Trigger, Talisman and Mobius 1 managed to get airborne in a nick of time before the firestorm could have engulfed their aircraft and killed them in the process. Afterwards, all pilots managed to climb to a safe altitude and clear the alien spaceship before starting to head for the rendezvous point.
Back in St. Hewlett, people are running towards the tunnel screaming. Laila, who is still in her car, has no idea what is happening. It wasn't until she looked at her rear view mirror and eventually looked back to see her answer. A wall of fire is approaching her car.
"Oh, my God. Come on, Darius. We gotta go. Come on, Otis." Laila said as she got out of her car.
After grabbing Darius and Otis' lease, Laila and Otis started running for their lives. Realizing that the fire is coming closer and faster, Laila decides to find shelter. She finds a door that leads to some boiler room in the tunnel. Laila has managed to bust the door open and take shelter before the firestorm could engulf her along with Darius and Otis.
The firestorms continued for the rest of the night, mostly in capital cities and cultural landmark cities around the world.
