Here's chapter 28 everybody.

Chapter 28: The First Lady's Death.

Back at the ruins of McKimson Air Force Base, Laila is taking care of Mrs. Wilford, who was sleeping, until she hears the sound of an approaching helicopter. Suddenly, the searchlight from it shines on her and the other survivors. Laila slowly approaches the helicopter, which was landing in front of the ruin hanger. Then, she hears a voice she thought she'll never hear again.

"Laila? Darius?" Michael called.

Laila smiles with joy. Michael is alive. Darius has also woken up upon hearing his father's voice.

"Yes. Yes!" Laila said, running towards her husband.

"Daddy!" Darius cheered.

Laila and Darius run to Michael and hugs him. Mrs. Wilford looks at the happy family smiling.

"You're late." Laila said.

"Well, you know I like to make an entrance." Michael said before kissing his wife.

Hours later, Michael arrives back at Area 95 with Laila, Darius, Mrs. Wilford and the other St. Hewlett survivors. Wilford and his staff have been notified of the First Lady's rescue.

"Right this way." a secret service agent said.

"Where are we going?" Wilford asked.

"Right through here sir." the agent said.

"Mr. President, your wife is resting and sleeping comfortably at the moment." Baker said.

"Great." Wilford said.

"Perhaps if we had gotten to her earlier-." Baker said.

"There she is." Wilford said, interrupting Baker. "She doesn't look too good."

"Mr. President, your wife is bleeding internally. Perhaps if we'd gotten to her earlier-." Baker said.

"Wait a minute. What are you saying?" Wilford asked in concern.

"We can't stop the bleeding. If we'd...There's nothing we can do for her." Baker said.

Wilford couldn't believe what he heard. His wife is gonna die. He didn't want to believe it but unfortunately, it's real. He then goes to his wife, who has woken up.

"I'm so sorry that I didn't come home when you asked me to." Mrs. Wilford said.

"Ohh...It's okay...The doctors...think that you're...gonna be just fine." Wilford lied.

"Liar." Mrs. Wilford said with a laugh, knowing her fate.

The two smiled before they started hugging, kissing and crying knowing the truth is.

Meanwhile, the doctors were talking to each other about stuff until Wilford came out with his hands on his hips. They looked at him carefully. He then went to the nearest seats and sat in silence. After a couple of seconds, he buried his face in his hands and started to sob. Trigger was close by when he saw the scene. He then puts his hand on Wilford's shoulder to comfort him. He then looked up with sadness and anger on his face. He knew what it was like to lose someone that he cared about. He lost many friends back in the war; Brownie, High Roller, Champ, Full Band and Wiseman. Trigger also hopes his family and other relatives are okay and not killed by the invaders. Trigger is now hoping that there's a strategy to stop these ruthless alien invaders once and for all, before all of mankind becomes wiped out from the face of the Earth.

And that's the end of the chapter. Well, Michael is reunited with his family and the First Lady has unfortunately died. Somehting has to be doen about the aliens. What will happen when Henry accidently discover a way to get pass the alien's defensive shields thanks to Jakob? Find out next time in the next chapter. Please review. :)
