Here's chapter 29 everybody.

Chapter 29: A Solution.

[July 4, 2020]

Jakob is walking down the ramp at the huge room where the researched alien attacker is sitting in idol. Everything was in silence, except for one scientist that was sleeping. Suddenly, he heard the crash coming from the room. Jakob turns and sees Henry knocking down metal trash cans and throwing them.

"Henry! What the hell are you doing?" Jakob asked.

"I'm making a mess!" Henry said as he threw a trash can lid.

"Yeah, this I can see." Jakob said.

"We gotta burn the rainforest, dump toxic waste, pollute the air, and rip up the ozone, 'cause maybe if we screw this planet up enough..." Henry said as he fell to the floor. "They won't want it anymore."

Jakob then runs to his son hoping to get some sense into him.

"Wait, wait, wait. Henry, Henry! Don't do this to yourself. Listen to me. Everyone loses faith at some point in their life." Jakob said as he grabbed Henry's drink away. "Henry, look at me. I haven't spoken to God since your mother died."

"Huh." Henry said.

"Yes. But see, sometimes, we have to remember what we still have." Jakob said.

"Like what?" Henry asked.

"Well...you still have your health." Jakob said.

Henry chuckles at that remark.

"Come on, Henry, Henry. You need your rest. Come on. Get off this freezing concrete floor before you catch a cold." Jakob said as he helped his son get up.

Henry was about to get up, but paused at something that Jakob just said.

"What did you just say?" Henry asked.

"You mean about faith? Well, you see, a man can live his entire life-." Jakob started.

"No, after that. The other part." Henry asked.

"I don't want you to catch a cold." Jakob replied.

As soon Henry said that, Henry groaned. He has finally found a solution to the alien problem.

"Duh!" Henry said as he mentally slapped himself.

"What is that? What's the matter with you." Jakob asked.

"Genius." Henry muttered.

"Genius?" Jakob asked, all confused.

"My dad, a total genius." Henry said as he ran to the sleeping scientist. "Tommy, wake up. We got work to do. Get everybody down here right away."

The scientist named Tommy wakes up before saying...

"What?"

Hours later, everyone arrives at the alien attacker's room, with scientists working on the ship as Wilford, his staff, the ace pilots and Michael arriving with his family. Michael shows Darius the craft.

"Look at that." Michael said.

"Wow! Does that thing really fly in outer space?" Darius asked in amazement.

"It most certainly does." Michael replied.

"Sure doesn't look like it." Darius said.

Meanwhile, Henry was helping with the scientists when Tommy notified him that everyone had arrived, and Hurley was talking to Jennifer.

"All right, Jennifer, what's this all about?" Hurley asked.

"I have no idea." Jennifer replied.

"Get everybody off of it." Henry ordered.

"All right, everybody, clear the platform. Let's go. Come on, come on." Tommy said as Henry places a soda can on the ship.

"Major Lincoln, do you have a pistol?" Henry asked.

"What?" Lincoln said.

"You got a gun?" Henry asked.

"Sergeant, your sidearm." Lincoln said to an OADF sergeant.

The OADF sergeant hands his gun to Lincoln.

"See that, uh, Coke can on top of the alien craft?" Henry asked as he pointed to the soda can for Lincoln to see. "Think you can shoot that thing off?"

Lincoln looks back at Henry with an 'what?' expression on his face.

"Do it. Shoot it." Henry said.

"Sir?" Lincoln asked for Wilford's permission.

"Go ahead." Wilford said.

Lincoln then aims the gun at the soda can at the ship and fires at it. However, instead of hitting the can, the bullet sets off the craft's shield, protecting it. Everyone had to ducked down since the bullet was ricocheting around the room before it finally stopped.

"Get down!" Trigger said.

"What the heck, man?" Talisman said.

"What the hell are you doing?" Michael asked.

"I'm sorry. My fault. My fault. That Coke can was protected by the craft's shield, and we can't penetrate their defenses." Henry said.

"We know that already. What's your point?" Hurley said.

"Right. My point is, if we can't beat their defenses, then we gotta get around them." Henry said as he types something into the computer. " Major, one more time. Anytime."

Lincoln aims his gun at the can again and fires. This time, the bullet makes a direct hit to the can. Everyone couldn't believe it. The craft's shield didn't activate this time, making the craft vulnerable to fire.

"How did you do that?" Shepherd asked.

"I gave it a cold." Henry said as everyone didn't understand that remark. "I gave it a virus. A computer virus."

"Are you telling us you can send out a signal that will disable all their shields?" Shepherd asked.

"That's right. Just like they used our satellites against us, we can use their own signal against them. If we plant a virus into that mothership, it's gonna then filter down into all the corresponding ships below." Henry said.

"I'm sorry. I don't understand. Just how, exactly, do we infect the mothership with this virus?" Hurley asked.

"Well...we're going to, uh...have to, um, ahem, fly their alien craft out of our atmosphere and dock with it. We can enter here, as shown in these satellite photos. We then upload the virus. We then set off some kind of explosion, which will disable it, and that'll disorient the smaller ships below, and that could buy, I think, at least some time to uh...to take 'em-take 'em out. Take 'em down. Do your...stuff." Henry said.

"This is ridiculous." Hurley said.

"How long would their shields be down?" Shepherd asked.

"Uh...I don't know. A matter of minutes." Henry replied.

"You want us to coordinate a massive worldwide counterstrike with a window of only a few minutes?" Hurley asked.

"With the shields down, that might be possible." Shepherd said.

"Oh, please. We don't have the manpower or the resources to launch that kind of a campaign. Not to mention that this whole cockamamie plan is dependent on a machine that no one in this world is qualified to operate." Hurley said.

"I wouldn't say that sir. I've seen these things in action, and I'm well aware of their maneuvering capabilities." Michael said before facing Shepherd. "With your permission, General, I'd like the opportunity to try."

"That thing is a wreck. Crash-landed back in the eighties. We don't even know if it's capable of flying." Hurley said.

"Tommy, uh, remove the clamps." Henry said.

Tommy presses a button to remove the clamps that are holding the craft in place. As soon as the clams are removed, the craft is activated and it's hovering. It is capable of flying.

"Any questions?" Henry asked.

"No questions, let's do this!" Trigger said.

"Same. Ready to kick some alien ass." Mobius 1 said.

"This time, it's our turn to get it back at them." Talisman said.

"Let's do it." Wilford said.

"All right, you heard the president. Let's get this thing prepped and ready." Lincoln said.

"Good luck, pilot." Wilford said, shaking Michael's hand.

"Thank you, Mr. President." Michael said.

Trigger then approached Michael.

"Good luck up there, Captain." Trigger said.

"Thank you. You're the pilot known as Three Strikes, right? Heard about you. Go kick some alien ass." Michael said.

"You can bet on that." Trigger said with a grin.

"A virus." Jakob said.

"Your idea." Henry said, confusing Jakob. "That's right."

Henry then walks next to Michael.

"You really think you can fly that thing?" Henry asked.

"You really think you can do all that bullshit you just said?" Michael asked.

Meanwhile, Hurley, in a last ditch effort, again tried to make another appeal to Wilford to scuttle Henry's plan.

"I understand you are upset over the death of your wife, but that's no excuse for making another fatal mistake." Hurley said.

Suddenly, Wilford has had enough of Hurley and his obstructive antics. He grabs him by the collar and pushes him to a nearby desk.

"The only mistake I ever made was to appoint a sniveling little weasel like you as secretary of defense." Wilford said.

"I don't think you understand-." Hurley said.

"However, that is one mistake I'm thankful to say that I don't have to deal with." Wilford said.

"Mr. President-." Hurley begged.

"Mr. Hurley...you're fired." Wilford said.

Wilford then looks at Shepherd, Edwards and Jennifer.

"Let's organize every Osean plane we can find and get us some damn pilots to fly 'em." Wilford ordered.

"Yes, sir." Shepherd said.

"He can't do that." Hurley objected.

"Well, he just, uh...did." Jennifer said before leaving Hurley behind.

And that's the end of the chapter. Well, a solution has been found in order to defeat the alien invaders. Now, Osea needs to rely this information to other nations. What will be the reaction from other countries, which also will have the cameo appearances of two certain Ace pilots? Find out next time in the next chapter. Please review. :)
