"I think we took a wrong turn, maybe I should get Rotom and Toucannon up into the air to look around." Ark said, looking at the open planes around them. "What do you think?"
"I think it's impossible for me to help." Pokemon Master Ash said. "I have no flier, no swimmer, and no defensive wall, I just have Pikachu left."
"You took out that Kleavor thing, that has to be powerful, plus you're the only one that can read the text on these plates." Ark said.
"Ahh, so you are the one who cured Lord Kleavor?" A dark haired girl said. "Sorry for interrupting, I am Warden Mai of the Diamond Clan, and the protector of Wyrdeer."
"Wyrdeer? What is that?" Ark asked.
"A big white deer, usually seen galloping around the center of the area." Mai said.
'That might have been the mysterious Pokemon Pinky and Bowite got into a fight with yesterday." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Wyrdeer did show some minor injuries yesterday, but nothing I thought needed to be concern for, he's a strong and noble Pokemon." Mai said. "But pardon if this is out of line, you said you were looking for another plate?"
"Uhh, yes." Ark said. "Not like a dinner plate though, it's a bit hard to explain, there's a set of them, and we're trying to track them down before someone or something else gets them first."
"Well, if you're looking to track something down my partner Munchlax has a mighty powerful nose, he might be able to sniff it out." Mai said, as a Munchlax walked up.
"That would be great, but we don't have any with us." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Yeah we do, remember." Ark commented.
"Seriously, that one, but its color is gone." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"And if we want to figure out where we need to go, maybe that Munchlax can pick up the scent for us." Ark argued.
"Fine." Pokemon Master Ash said, pulling out the drained Zap Plate from his bag.
"Munch." Munchlax said, sniffing the plate. "Lax!" It cheered, running off in a direction.
"It got a hit let's go!" Mai said.
"You heard her." Ark said, chasing after the Munchlax.
"LAX."
"That sounds a lot bigger than Munchlax." Mai commented.
"That's because it isn't, I recognize that cry, it's a Snorlax." Pokemon Master ASh said, as they saw a giant rampaging Snorlax in their path.
"Passimian keep his attention." Ark called out.
Passimian leapt from tree to tree, keeping eyes on the Snorlax.
"Now use Close Combat!"
Passimian launched from the top of a tree, down onto the Snorlax, beating it in rapid succession.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Pokemon Master Ash called out.
Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity, zapping through the normal type, dropping it to the ground.
"That was surprisingly easy." Mai said.
"That Passimian is some strange kind of crazy." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"He's just energetic." Ark said. "Also the leader of a super pack back home."
"A super pack?" Pokemon Master Ash asked in confusion.
"Well it's technically four separate tribes under one ruler, and my Passimian won the fight against the previous ruler, making him the top Passimian." Ark said.
"But he's not there." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Yeah, I don't know how that works for when we return." Ark said.
"You mean if." Pokemon Master Ash whispered.
"No, I mean when, we'll get through this, I'm sure of it." Ark said.
"End of the road." Mai said, looking out to the lake. "Whatever you're looking for is somewhere in there."
"Alright, everyone out!" Ark said, sending out Incineroar, Toucannon, Dhelmise, and Golisopod.
"All of them will help?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"No, Incineroar and Passimian will stay here on land with you and the Pikachu's in case it comes to land. Toucannon will look in the air, while Golisopod, Dhelmise and I will be searching the lake bed." Ark said.
"Do you think you can hold your breath that long?" Mai asked worriedly.
"I grew up on an island, I can do it." Ark said, stripping to just his shorts.
"That was a quick decision." Mai said surprised.
"Alright, let's go guys!" Ark said diving in, once they were underwater, Golisopod let Rotomdex free to help communicate and scan.
"LOOK OUT!" Rotomdex exclaimed, shining a light into the lake to show a purple and black spiny Pokemon.
Ark nodded at Golisopod, giving a spin with his hand to indicate the command. Golisopod rocketed forward, striking the pokemon between its pins with his claws as Dhelmise grabbed it with his anchor, launching the Pokemon up above the water in its dazed state.
Up in the air Toucannon watched as the Pokemon was launched out of the water, firing a barrage of poisonous spikes at her, she countered with a Boomburst, dropping the needles before she knocked it to the shore with a Steel Wing.
"That is impressive efficiency." Mai said, as the Pokemon came towards the shore.
"Do you know what it is?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"Based on the size it's likely an Overqwil, the evolved form of Qwilfish, a dark and poison type." Mai explained.
"Alright, well I don't know if those three will listen to me, but my Pikachu will take my orders. Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pokemon Master Ash's Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity, zapping the Overqwil.
"Roar!" Ark's Incineroar shouted, leaping at the falling Overqwil and tossing it back to shore before it hit the water.
"Simi!" Pasimian exclaimed, slamming his Iron Ball on the Pokemon a few times for good measure.
"I am really glad he's on the same side as me." Ark said in shock.
"What'd I miss?" Ark asked, walking up with a water logged Incineroar.
"Your Pokemon doing 90% of the work on their own." Mai said.
"Yeah, they're used to fighting without commands from me from time to time." Ark admitted. "Alien invasions and all that."
"Aliens?" Pokemon Master Ash asked in confusion.
"Technically Ultra Beasts, from other dimensions but yeah sort of like aliens." Ark said, regretting his first choice of words.
"You two are weird." Mai commented. "Nothing wrong with that, just weird."
"Oh yeah, that reminds me, look what I found at the bottom of the lake." Ark said, showing a plate.
"The rules of time and space change in the opposite world." Pokemon Master Ash said, his eyes glowing a golden hue.
"Any clue what all of these mean?" Ark asked.
"None, but I guess we'll find out in time." Pokemon Master Ash said.
