"So why is Professor Laventon wanting us for battle research?" Ark asked.
"He didn't say, but he asked for us specifically by name, at least by the names we gave them for us." Trap Ash said.
"Ahh good to see you three made it, I really hope you'll be able to help me out with some Pokemon I've been working with." Professor Laventon said.
"Sure you want us to train them, see what they can do?" Ark asked.
"Actually I was hoping you could each battle one if that's alright." Professor Laventon said, holding three Pokeballs. "I hope you don't mind but I asked Captain Zisu to oversee these matches to make sure no one gets too hurt."
"That's more than perfect, happy to help." Coordinator Ash said.
"Oh, now this is going to be fun." Ark said. "Me first! Incineroar let's go!"
The fire type landed out of his Pokeball with a mighty roar, ready for battle.
"Incineroar, native to the island region of Alola, well then I see no better option for him to fight than another alolan native. Decidueye come out!" Professor Laventon said, sending out a strange looking Decidueye.
"Ashlynn?" Ark said in shock.
"Nope, never seen one like it." Trap Ash said.
"Decidueye what type is it normally?" Coordinator Ash whispered.
"Grass and Ghost." Trap Ash whispered back.
"Then at least Incineroar has an advantage as a fire type." Coordinator Ash said.
"Yeah, but I don't think this one is a ghost type." Trap Ash said.
"Incineroar use Flare Blitz!" Ark called out with a wicked smirk.
"Decidueye use Brave Bird!" Professor Laventon called out.
The two Pokemon rushed at each other, encased in their energy as they slammed into each other.
"Decidueye use Triple Arrows!"
Incineroar was pinned by his fur to the ground by the arrows.
"Incineroar use Flare Blitz but hold it in!" Ark called out.
"What is he doing?" Coordinator Ash asked.
"I have no idea." Trap Ash said in surprise.
Incineroar's flames grew more and more from his belt, igniting the arrows as he burned them up and freed the fire type.
"Decidueye use Aura Sphere!"
"Incineroar use Darkest Lariat!"
Incineroar spun around as flames erupted above him, launching the Aura Sphere right back at Decidueye out of the air.
"Incineroar use Outrage!"
"Decidueye use Leaf Storm!"
Incineroar launched at the grass type, a rainbow of flames surrounding him as he pinned his opponent to the ground.
"Decidueye is out, the winner is Incineroar." Zisu said.
"Incineroar return." Ark said, returning his Pokemon.
"I did not know Incineroar could do all that." Trap Ash said, impressed.
"Neither did I." Ark admitted, looking at the Pokeball. "I hope he's feeling alright."
"Well who's up next?" Professor Laventon asked.
"I can, I'm curious to see what else you've got." Coordinator Ash said.
"Alright then, Typhlosion come on out!" Professor Laventon exclaimed.
"What is wrong with that thing?!" Coordinator Ash said in disbelief.
"What?" Professor Laventon asked confused.
"This, Typhlosion come on out!" Coordinator Ash called out.
The two Typhlosion side by side looked extremely different from one another.
"Now that is kind of cool." Ark admitted.
"Be interesting to see which one performs better." Trap Ash said.
"Typhlosion use Lava Plume and ride the waves!" Coordinator Ash called out.
"Typhlosion use Infernal Parade!" Professor Laventon called out.
Coordinator Ash's Typhlosion leapt from his lava plume launching down towards Professor Laventon's Typhlosion only to get hit by a barrage of purple flames.
"Typhlosion use Brick Break!" Coordinator Ash called out.
"Typhlosion use Flamethrower!" Professor Laventon commanded.
Coordinator Ash's Typhlosion fell right through the other Typhlosion his attack having done nothing at all.
"Wait, that means this Typhlosion is a Ghost Type?" Trap Ash said in confusion.
"No matter, Typhlosion use Hidden Power!" Coordinator Ash called out.
"Typhlosion use Swift!"
In the distance as he was preparing food, Benji watched with interest.
"It couldn't be, there's no way…". Benji said deep in thought.
"Typhlosion use Eruption!" Coordinator Ash called out.
"Typhlosion use Overheat!" Professor Laventon commanded.
Flames erupted from both Typhlosions' backs, heating up the arena to an increasingly dangerous level.
"Alright, I'm calling this before you two burn the whole village down!" Zisu called out.
"Sorry commander." Coordinator Ash apologized.
"Laventon, you said that these tests would be safe." Commander Zisu said.
"I apologize, I did not predict things would get so heated." Professor Laventon said.
"Well let's see you had Decidueye the Grass type, Typhlosion the fire type, so I'll choose Pikachu!" Trap Ash called out.
"I see you have some logical thinking. Come out Samurott!" Professor Laventon called out. "Use Ceaseless Edge!"
Samurott came swinging towards Pikachu with his jagged and pointy horn.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Trap Ash called out.
Pikachu leapt into the air, striking his tail against Samurott's horn, the two attacks canceling each other out.
"Now spin it around!" Trap Ash called out.
Zisu watched in shock as Pikachu reversed his momentum without loosing any height, knocking the large water type over.
"Told you we had a lot of practice with the move." Trap Ash said.
"Samurott use Hydro Pump!" Professor Laventon called out.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack to dodge it!" Trap Ash exclaimed.
Pikachu outsped the jet of high pressure water, looking for an opening to strike.
"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Trap Ash called as Samurott was catching it's breath.
A bolt of electricity arched out from Pikachu, striking Samurott's horn causing it to fall ever so slightly.
"Samurott get back up and use Slash!"
"Pikachu use Discharge!"
Pikachu sent out a storm of electricity to hide behind as Samurott sliced into the air trying to strike it.
"Now let's end this use Thunderbolt!" Trap Ash called out.
"WAIT!!!!!!" Pokemon Master Ash said rushing into town screaming at the top of his lungs.
"Dick?" Trap Ash asked in confusion. "And Ingo?!"
"We have a problem." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"What is it, and where is Cassidy?" Coordinator Ash asked.
"He, he got captured by well by a giant Sneasel thing." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Sneasler." Ingo reminded.
"Look, we need to go and rescue him but Ingo says it's to dangerous for just two of us." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Captain, permission for all of us to go rescue Cassidy?" Trap Ash asked looking at Zisu.
"If you run into trouble at all, don't feel afraid to come back for more help we can send the rescue corps out too." Zisu said.
"We'll take care of this. Cassidy is one of us." Ark said, lifting his bag up. "Let's go rescue him."
