Chapter 2: Bell's Decision

Bell Cranel walked home briskly through the familiar streets of Orario, on his way to the Hearth Mansion former mansion of Apollo famila, his mind awash with a storm of emotions. Tonight had been a special night for him. He had taken Ryu Lion, a fellow adventurer and ally of the Hestia Familia, out on their first date.

Walking her home had been an innocent gesture, a way to ensure her safety, and yet, it had ignited a spark within Bell's heart. In the short span of time they had spent together, Ryu had become more than just a companion. She had become a true friend, a comrade in arms during war games and many dungeon adventures.

But it was in the depths of the dungeon that their bond had truly formed. Holding her trembling naked body close for warmth in the chilling darkness had brought them closer than ever before. Bell had seen the vulnerability in Ryu's eyes, the way her deep blue longing eyes searched for comfort and solace. And in those moments, it felt as though their souls intertwined, creating a bond that could never be broken.

Bell knew he had to be patient. He couldn't rush their relationship or force Ryu into something she wasn't ready for. But the desire to express his emotions, to tell her how he truly felt, grew stronger with each passing day. He knew that the labyrinth of emotions within him could not be contained forever.

Bell questioned himself at this moment. He had to admit he was still young and foolish. Why had he fell in love with Ais Wallenstein at first sight? He had to admit to himself it was naivety and foolishness. His grandfather had always told him he would meet a girl in the dungeon and he did, but it was Ryu whom he had deeply bonded with in the dungeon when he held her naked and afraid, when he faced life and death with Ryu numerous times.

Bell Cranel though young finally realized one thing for sure at this moment, that tomorrow is not promised, he could have died his love for Ais unrequited. However though he could have died recently in the dungeon his feelings were not unrequited but was shared with Ryu. Bell and Ryu could have both died but the tender emotions they shared in that short time alone in the dungeon was a lifetime of connection. This feeling was more than some adventurers could ever hope for because they perished too soon deep within the dungeon's cruel clutches.

Bell's mind drifted to Ryu's golden hair, shimmering under the dungeon's dim light, akin to the finest treasure one could find. It would dance around her shoulder as she moved, an ethereal golden halo that highlighted her exquisite beauty. Every single detail about Ryu was etched into his mind. He remembered her longing blue eyes, they held the depth of the midnight sky and shined with unspoken emotions, a mystery he longed to unravel.

But what struck Bell most was Ryu's ears. Elegant and pointy, so characteristic of her elfin lineage. He recalled how they perked up when he'd said something interesting, how they drooped when the evening turned serious. The memory of their crimson hue when blushing brought an involuntary grin on his face, a memory that felt like a charm—one he'd carry secretly in the corners of his heart.

The sweet sound of Ryu's laughter echoed in his head, interlaced with the loud moan when he'd dared—blinded by affection, and maybe a half glass too much of spirit—to caress her ear on their date at the tavern that evening. The unexpected gesture had sparked a flare in her eyes. However, the sheer vulnerability, the primal moan that escaped her lips, told a different story, a story that he wanted to read, a happy ending swirled through Bell's imagination .

Her adorable elfin charm, her courage, and wisdom, her shared enthusiasm for their adventures, and those shared deep kisses - everything was a testament to how far they had come, how tight their bond had grown.

Bell sighed, his heart a tumble of emotions. They were overwhelmingly tender and soft. He felt an array of affection, attachment, yearning, and a deep-rooted respect for Ryu. And beneath these feelings, there was a sense of assurance and peace that he had not felt before. It was like walking into the warm comforts of home after a long day of adventuring, soothing and secure.

He realized he was not just physically attracted to Ryu, but mentally, emotionally connected to her as well. Bell couldn't ignore it anymore - he had developed feelings for Ryu, feelings that went beyond mere friendship or camaraderie. With the enchanting memory of their kisses still fresh, he couldn't suppress a smile.

It felt right, it felt timely. All the times spent together, all the trials faced together had led up to this sweet moment. Walking home alone staring at the twinkling cosmos, his mind drifted. Somehow, the stars shone brighter that night, mirroring the unusual effervescence within his heart.

Like the whispers of his beating heart echoed in the tranquil night, Bell Cranel's feelings for Ryu blossomed under the star-lit sky. And by the end of that night, he came to a heartfelt realization - he was falling in love with Ryu Lion.
