Moria was now making his way towards the giant monster's corpse, and everyone was watching with apprehension.

"Shall we begin?" Moria asked as he stopped before the corpse.

'What the heck is that?' said Snotlout stunned. 'A giant's corpse? Even for a giant, that thing is huge.'

Both Fishlegs and Chopper shook with absolute fear.

Guys, they'll hear you, the quiet," Astrid whispered.

Moria then turned his eyes upon Hiccup's shadow, which was desperately trying to get out of his hand. "I see you're just as energetic as your master, little shadow."

He then pulled the shadow towards his mouth. "But now I am your new master. Yet fear not; I shall grant you both voice and body so that you can live on as a zombie. Abandon your memories, abandon your remnants of humanity so that you might serve me as an undying soldier."

As he taught, the shadow no longer struggled, and then it nodded.

"Contrast completed," said Moria.

Astrid had a sneaking suspicion she knew what was going to happen, and slowly, all the pieces will starting to come together.

"Is it works like this, Cindry," said Hogback looking at her. "You're supposed to give up all of your memories, all the times of your past life. That means we should be able to eat on plates, right?"

"If you say that again, I'm going to break the plates in your knees," Cindry threatened.

"You're scary! Please, Cindry, stop!" Hogback cried.

"Cindry is way too harsh on Doctor Hogback," said Absalom. "Doctor Harshback."

"Now awaken!" Moria yelled.

Chopper's eyes widened. 'His shadow…'

"Your 500-year slumber has come to an end!" Moria yelled, placing the shadow against the corpse.

Everyone then watched as the shadow entered the corpse.

"This is weird," said Snotlout as the shadow slowly sunk into the corpse.

Moria then made his way back to rejoin the others.

"His shadow is gone," Astrid gasped.

"It went in," said Absalom.

Perona nodded.

They then stood there and waited, and suddenly everything began to shake as the corpse began to move; they heard the sound of what might have been a heartbeat. As if on instinct, all the birds and bats across the island began to fly away from the island, as if a natural disaster was about to happen.

Chopper was about to cry out, but Astrid quickly placed her hand over his mouth.

"Stop it! Don't scream!" she hissed.

Everyone watched, and then be eyes of the corpse sprung wide open and out of sheer shock, Fishlegs lost his balance causing all of them to fall out of Treacle.

This, of course, meant they were discovered by Moria and his cronies.

"What's this?" said Moria.

"Oh crap, we're screwed! They've found us!" Snotlout panicked.

"Can you blame me for screaming?" Fishlegs wailed.

"We're all going to die!" Chopper cried.

"Will you three point yourself together!" Astrid snapped.

Perona marched up to Treacle. "Treacle, don't tell me you're conspiring with these pirates behind my back!"

Treacle tried to explain the situation, but that wasn't easy, considering she was forbidden to talk.

Absalom smiled the moment he saw Astrid. "My soon-to-be bride, but what are you doing here?"

"You can't escape!" said the three coloured zombies as they suddenly appeared behind them.

But before anyone could do anything else, the entire room shooked as the change that kept the giant zombie in place began to snap. It then began to move as it stretched its arms and legs and slowly but surely rose to its feet. It then removed a giant piece of ice that was trapped inside and tossed it aside.

"Beautiful!" Hogback cried.

Cindry then sidestepped out of the way just before a giant piece of eyes landed on top of Hogback, knocking him to the floor.

"A work of art… a masterpiece… just great," he groaned under the weight of the ice.

Everyone looked up at the giant zombie, which then began to roar like a dragon. His roar was so powerful that everyone had difficulty standing their ground, and even Perona's parasol was pulled back.

The roar could be felt throughout the entire island, and both Eret and Heather lost their footing. Eret sadly was standing on a staircase at the time, so he ended up falling down, and he reached the bottom.

"What the hell?" Eret groaned.

Heather got up, not liking what she had just heard.

"Where is everyone?" Oras roared.

Perona was blown backwards and fell into the arms of Treacle. "Treacle, don't let go!"

Hogback was sent flying into the wall along with the giant chunk of ice, which collided with him once again, followed closely by Cindry.

Astrid and the others then found themselves being blown backwards and collided with the three colourful zombies, who quickly grabbed hold of the door to the fridge. Astrid and the others soon found themselves flying through the corridor, and they quickly used this opportunity to run away.

Absalom had just recovered and noticed that they were missing. "Hey! What happened to my bride? Damnit, where are the pirates?"

"They ran away!" Nep yelled.

"They're super fast!" said Nip.

"They're long gone," said Nap.

"Come back!" Absalom roared as he chased after them.

"Astrid, what is going on here?" Oars roared and then frowned. "Wait, who is Astrid? What is going on?"

Astrid and the others were running through the corridors quickly as they could, trying to figure out what they had just witnessed.

"So, will someone explain this to me?" Snotlout asked.

"When Hiccup's shadow entered that thing, it started moving," said Chopper.

"Guess we now know how the zombies work now," said Astrid.

"I-it really came back to life," said Chopper.

"There's only one explanation for all of this, that big guy must have Devil Fruit powers," Fishlegs concluded.

Astrid nodded. "We heard that giant monster roar like a dragon, exactly like Hiccup. That means it doesn't just have Hiccup's. It has part of his personality with too."

"I guess so," said Snotlout.

"This is starting to make sense now; it's just like with that penguin we ran into that acted like Ragnar," said Astrid, remembering the penguin defending her.

"So you're saying they put Ragnar's shadow inside that thing," said Snotlout.

"There would seem to be what happened," said Astrid.

"Then that samurai that hit us with the back of his sword had to be Skull," Fishlegs concluded.

"So you're saying that all the zombies on the island they're just a bunch of dead bodies with someone else's shadow inside of them, making them move?" said Snotlout.

"All the weird stuff that's happening on this island, it's all his fault, isn't it?" Chopper growled, and everyone looked at him. "This isn't giving people a second chance at life. No one would ask for this; no one would want it. He's just playing God, using humans as puppets."

Everyone knew that he idolised Hogback, and now it came to light that he was not the person he thought he was.

"He's trying to save anyone; he lied to all of us," said Chopper furiously. "He's nothing more than another villain!"

"Chopper…" said Astrid softly.

"Now is not the time to get depressed over something like that," said Snotlout. "The only people we should worry about are our crewmembers. It looks like it's up to us to save them this time."

"For once, I agree, we can't run and hide any more," said Fishlegs. "We have to go to the place where they're taking Hiccup's to."

Astrid nodded. "They said that they were taking a back to the ship; they must mean the Night Fury."

"The same thing happened to Toothless and Ragnar. Then they might be waiting there too; that's most of the crew, at least," said Chopper.

"I still can't believe they were caught," said Fishlegs.

"I get the sneaking suspicion they were taken completely by surprise," said Astrid.

Then suddenly, the three boys burst into flames as something very hard struck them in the back, causing them to roll down the stairs they were currently on.

"Fishlegs! Snotlout! Chopper!" Astrid cried.

The three of them were just flat on the ground, smouldering.

"What happened?" Astrid gasped.

Then suddenly, she felt someone grabbing her, and then appearing directly behind her was Absalom.

"Let me go! Stop it!" Astrid yelled as she struggled to free herself, but he was just too strong, and she didn't have proper leverage. "He's too strong!"

The boys then picked themselves up and looked up directly at Absalom.

"Well, boys, say goodbye…" he said as he looked at his lips. "…because today, I'm going to marry her."

"Not on my watch!" Snotlout growled as he took several steps forward. "If I can't even say one woman, then how can I call myself a man?"

"Snotlout, so cool!" said Chopper in awe.

"We're not going to let you take her from us," said Fishlegs as he raised his gauntlets. "Thunderbolt Tempo!"

He placed his hands together and fired a bolt of lightning, but before it made contact, Absalom began to disappear.

"He's disappearing!" Chopper gasped.

Astrid then noticed that she herself was starting to disappear as well. "I'm disappearing too? What's going on here?"

They disappeared just before the bolt of lightning struck, and it missed Absalom.

"Now Astrid had disappeared?" Fishlegs stared.

"Astrid!" Chopper cried as he galloped up the stairs. "Where—" He tried sniffing the air. "I'm getting another smell. It's really strong!"

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Astrid roared. "If you don't, I'm going to—"

She then fell silent.

"Astrid, where are you?" Fishlegs asked as he looked around. "I can't tell! Answer me, please!"

However, she didn't reply, indicating that Absalom had knocked her out somehow.

Absalom laughed, but he was using echoes to make it impossible for them to determine his location. "The rest is up to you, my loyal zombies! Capture the intruders and deliver them to Master Moria!"

"Damn, I can't tell where he's coming from!" Snotlout cursed.

"Say something, Astrid!" Chopper pleaded.

"He's probably knocked her out cold, and she can't reply to us," said Fishlegs.

Chopper looked back at them, in his eyes widened. "Fishlegs… Snotlout… behind you!"

They quickly spun around and saw a suit of armour jumping at them with its axe raised. Thankfully they were able to jump back in time to avoid getting cut in half.

"Whoa, it's an armoured zombie!" Fishlegs yelled.

It wasn't just one zombie; more zombies began making their way up the staircase.

"Oh crap, it's a whole bunch of them," said Snotlout.

"Oh no, this is bad!" said Chopper as more zombies began making their way down the staircase. "A bunch of zombies are coming from upstairs too!"

"Hey, Pirates!" they said. "Give up your shadows already."

The boys began backing away from the zombies until they backed into one another.

"Guys, it looks like we are the heroes now," said Snotlout. "If we get our shadow is taken away like the others—"

"Right," Chopper nodded.

"Here they calm," said Fishlegs.

They found themselves completely surrounded by zombies.

"Your shadows! Your shadows!"

"Shadows for our master!"

Chopper then felt something grab one of his antlers; he spun around and saw one of the portraits had emerged from its painting and grabbed him.

"Not painting zombies too!" Chopper cried.

The zombies then jumped on them.

"You guys are cheating!" Snotlout yelled. "You can't die at there's too many of you!"

"Yeah, take us on one at a time!" Fishlegs cried.

"We just want your shadows, don't freak out."

"Let me go!" Chopper cried.

Snotlout had managed to crawl his way out from the zombies.

"I'm the hero! I'm the hero!" he said repeatedly as the others followed his lead.

They quickly got to their feet and ran for it, but it didn't take long for the zombies to realise they had snuck away and began to chase after them.

"Calm back!" said the zombies.

They quickly ran up the stairs, but more zombies came down them.

"There's more!" Fishlegs cried.

"Just fork over the shadows already!"

Fishlegs then suddenly tripped, and he began rolling down the stairs colliding with both Snotlout and Chopper, causing them to roll down them as well. As they roll down the stairs, they collide with the zombies knocking them over like bowling pins. However, the zombies quickly recovered and swarmed over them once more.

"Shadows for our master!"

"It's over; we're done for!" Fishlegs cried.

"But I like my shadow!" Chopper cried.

"Somebody save me!" Snotlout pleaded.

Suddenly, the zombies stopped and looked up to see a shadow exiting from one of their own.

"Whoa, hold up! Who is that?"

Standing before them were Eret, Heather and the twins and working together, they managed to purify a bunch of the zombies.

"Oh no, they just purify them!"

Zombies fell before them faster than they could blink.

"Take your rotten hands off, my bros," Eret threatened. "I ain't going to warn you again. Got it?"

"Yes, sir," they said nervously and quickly released the three of them.

"These guys know a secret! Who are they?"

Fishlegs and the others began crawling their way over to Eret, Heather and the twins looking immensely relieved.

"Heather!" Fishlegs cried.

"Eret!" Chopper cried.

"Ruff! Tuff!" Snotlout cried.

Eret looked at the three of them and noticed Astrid was missing. "Damn, we're too late. Last Astrid, huh?"

"It's okay; we'll save her," said Heather confidently. "Right, you guys?"

The three of them didn't answer and instead hugged one another, crying.
