Kim pulled up to Tommy's house and saw other cars there. She shook her head as she realized that these were likely the rangers vehicles and that no one had called her. They knew something had happened to Tommy. She would go off on them once he was safe, right now she needed to focus on getting to him. She unlocked the front door and then let herself down into the Dino Lab. She heard the room go silent as she jogged down the steps, but she was not prepared for what she saw.
The rangers were scattered around the room, nursing various injuries. It was obvious that they had gone on a rescue mission and failed. Kim looked up at the ceiling and silently counted to ten. She wanted to lose her shit on all of them, but the failed mission was probably enough to make her point. They shouldn't have done this on their own and they should have called her in as soon as they figured out that Tommy was missing.
"Where were you?" Kira broke her out of her counting as she looked around at all of them. There was frustration from the rangers, they all thought that she had ignored their call. "We needed your help and you weren't here."
"Why didn't you call me in?" Kim asked as she locked eyes with Hayley and she gulped. Tommy had warned her that messing with Kimberly would only lead to more problems for her, but she hadn't really believed him. "Why didn't you call me in!"
"You didn't know?" Conner asked as Kim shook her head as she stalked closer to Hayley and Hayley placed a table between the two of them.
"You better have a damn good reason why you didn't tell me." Kim glowed a soft shade of pink as the other rangers stared at her and Hayley backed further away. Hayley had known that Kimberly would eventually find out, she had hoped that they would get Tommy back on their own. She had thought that the rangers were capable without Kimberly. "Hayley- what the fuck were you thinking?"
"That we don't need you. Tommy does not need you. This team can save him on their own," Hayley straightened and Kim just shook her head.
"Apparently they can't and you risked Tommy's life because of some vendetta against me. Did I do something?" Kim asked as she walked over to the console and began hacking away. Hayley grabbed her hands and pulled them away from the console and Kim glared over at her as she snatched them back. "I know what I'm doing, Tommy ran me through it. You better start talking if you want me to help cover this fuck up."
"I don't owe you any explanation," Hayley said as Kim continued clacking away. Fine. If Hayley wasn't going to tell her what was going on, she could focus on getting to Tommy. She would focus on doing her job and getting her son's father back for him. Then she would kick Hayley's ass when she got back here. "You don't deserve him."
"Ollie is his son and I screwed up every way possible when it came to telling him that he was a dad. I broke us up. I decided to not give him a chance to be there from the beginning. You're damn right I don't deserve him, but it's not up to you or me if he decides to give me a second chance. Last chance- why?" Kim said as she located Tommy and began plugging the coordinates into the teleportation grid. She looked over at Hayley and saw that she was terrified at what Kim was about to do, like something had happened before and Tommy had given her one chance at redemption. "Keeping me out isn't how you get your chance, Hayley. I hope you get that."
Kim teleported out in a ray of brilliant pink light and the other rangers stared at where she had been while Hayley quietly put on her headset. Kim had certainly made a point and she was right. She had just blown any second chance that she might have with Tommy.
"Get us back in there," Conner said as Hayley looked over at him and then glanced at the other rangers. They were all in bad shape and she wasn't sure if she should send them in a second time. "She can't do this by herself."
"She probably can," Jason said as he walked into the Command Center and they all looked back at him. They were vaguely aware of who he might be, but Hayley's reaction let them know that it was not good that he was here. "You get her killed and he's never going to forgive you. Get these rangers in there."
Hayley teleported the rangers in and Jason settled down in one of the chairs next to her. She glanced over at him and he just shook his head. He was pissed. He could only imagine how mad Kimberly was at the moment. There were so many things that she was probably putting together now that it was obvious that Hayley disliked her.
"How did you find out?" Hayley asked as Jason gave her a look. "She called all of you."
"Yeah. She thought the entire team had been taken, Hayley. She was coming here to deal with that- that's why I'm here so that she had some back up. You better pray that he's in one piece." Hayley stared over the console and let out a shaky breath. She was seeing how her jealousy had affected her judgment and she didn't know that she'd get a chance to make it right. She also wasn't sure that she cared to make it right.
"I won't…you will not hurt her…" Tommy ground out as Zeltrax shocked him again and he writhed on the table. Zeltrax had been torturing him for hours, but he was not going to tell him where Kimberly was. He was not going to lead him straight to his son. Luckily, Zeltrax had not figured out that they had a child together. He had heard the alarms sound earlier, but the rangers had never come. It terrified him that they had Kimberly in another room and were torturing her as well.
The alarm blared again and Zeltrax stilled. He looked at the monitor and then back over at Tommy. He turned the monitor towards Tommy and he felt the relief shoot through him. Kim was there, with the rangers, and if her body language told him anything- she was pissed. He had a moment as he thought that maybe the first attack had failed because she wasn't there, but that made no sense.
"She's not just a pretty face," Mesogog hissed as Zeltrax sprinted out and he moved out of the shadows. "Zeltrax will have fun with her."
"He won't touch her," Tommy forced out as he strained against the restraints as he tried to escape, yet again. His concern for Kimberly had spiked and he was desperate to break out of his restraints.
"That's her, isn't it?" Mesgogg whispered in Tommy's ear and his panic shot through the roof. Anton Mercer knew about Kimberly Hart, it made sense that Mesogog would know the one person he cared about this much. "It is."
"Hands off, lizard man," Kim said as she blasted him and quickly started pulling away the restraints. As soon as Tommy's hands were free, he started pulling at one of the restraints on his ankle. He glanced at her and saw how damaged her suit was, but knew that she was going to keep up plowing forward until they got out of here. "We have to move- the others were pulled back- they're too hurt. Can you morph?"
"Yeah," Tommy said as he quickly morphed and he stuck with her as they made their way out of the building. His hand found hers and he switched to the point position. He felt her slowing down and he looked back to see a wound in her side that she was clutching with her other hand. How had she made it to him?
He scooped her up and she gave him vague directions on how to get out of there. He crashed through the doors and saw Zeltrax standing between him and a portal. He started to set Kim down and was surprised when she opened fire on Zeltrax and he was able to actually get to the portal. They tumbled through it and landed in a jumbled pile back in the Command Center. He felt her breathing under him and pushed himself up enough to get his weight off of her, but he couldn't really move away. He quickly tossed his helmet to the side before he gently pulled hers off. Staying morphed was something that had saved them in the past and he was not going to unmorph her now.
"How bad is it?" Kim forced out as she shook in his arms and she tried to look down at her side, but he tilted her head back up to look at him. There was a lot of blood, but he was decently sure that seeing the blood would make her feel worse. "To…Tommy."
"Billy's on his way," Jason said as he handed Tommy a wad of bandages and Tommy then pressed them against her side. They exchanged a glance before Tommy closed his eyes and sent up a prayer that it was not as severe as it looked. "Hey Kim, just keep talking to us."
"I'm sorry," Kim croaked as Tommy leaned closer to her and gave her a confused look. "I should have…he should have known you…"
"Hey, hey, hey. None of that- you're going to be fine. It's not that bad," Tommy said as he glanced down at the bandages and saw that they had completely soaked through. "You got to me, you did your job. Just stick with me."
"I…I want…" Kim trailed off as Tommy abandoned the bandage and roughly shook her. He felt himself being hauled away from her as Billy swooped in and started assessing the situation, but he didn't realize what he was seeing. He fought the arms that held him to get back to her and felt more people pile onto him to keep him away from her. He let out a scream and something shot out of his body as everyone else hit the floor.
"Tommy- Billy has got her and is taking care of her. You'll just be in the way," Jason said as he stepped in front of Tommy and forced him to look at him. "You with me?"
"Why was she by herself?" Tommy asked as he wheeled on the rangers and they all looked at the ground. "Someone needs to start talking."
"Because we couldn't get to you the first time," Conner said as Tommy gave him a confused look. "She wasn't with us."
"Hayley," Tommy turned around and Hayley just shook her head as the tears streamed down her face. Seeing the disappointment and rage in Tommy's face terrified her with what it would do to her connection to him. She could not lose him. "What did you do?"
"Tommy- it's not that simple."
"What did you do!" Tommy yelled as Jason wrapped him up and pulled him away from her. The pain tore through him and he let out another scream as Jason kept him moving until he shoved him into the cave. Tommy glared at him as he looked past him, he wanted to force answers out of Hayley, right now. "What did she do?"
"Focus on Kim right now, okay? I'll get her out of here," Jason said as Tommy nodded before he de-moprhed and he gave Jason enough of a lead to get Hayley out of the Command Center. He then headed back towards the impromptu operation bay and went to sit at Kim's head. Billy was frantically stitching her up, but he could tell that her color was better than it had been. He settled down near her head and leaned down next to her. When were they going to stop getting hurt for each other?
