It wasn't until moments later when grey smoke wisped out of nowhere at the bureau. This time, instead of the hallway, Maizie managed to land them in the Professor's library. The smoke disappeared and Liz stumbled, dizzy.
"Sorry! Sorry, it takes a moment to get used to this kind of traveling," Maizie said as she grabbed Liz's other arm and led her to the couch. "The dizziness will go away in a minute."
Liz bent over, putting her head down between her legs. Maizie gave her an apologetic look from above and went over to the Professor's desk. She set the files down on the table and the bag on the floor. She turned back in time to see Liz sit back up.
"That was…quite a ride," Liz said.
"Yeah, imagine trying to teleport Hellboy. That one was rough," Maizie said with a grin as she went back to Liz and sat next to her.
Liz let out a laugh, "That's a little funny actually."
Maizie smiled again. She looked at Liz.
"I really hope that this time will be better for you," she said.
Liz nodded her thanks. Maizie's phone rang and she unclipped it from her belt.
"Agent Myers."
She listened to the other voice then paled. Liz watched her expression change from concern to anger. Maizie hung up and stood from the couch.
"What's wrong?"
"Hellboy's an idiot is what he is," Maizie said as she headed to the double doors, passing Abe's large tank. Liz got up and followed her. "He, Abe, and some agents went on a mission. Something went wrong and Abe's hurt."
"No. Where are they?"
"They're coming in right now, come on."
Both women walked out into the hallway, followed the pathway until they got to the sickbay. They met the other agents who brought in Abe on a stretcher and Hellboy behind them. The bureau's doctors quickly began work on Abe. Liz and Maizie were blocked from the sickbay entrance. Manning entered the room. Hellboy hadn't notice them arrive. Hellboy stood in the room as the glass partitions clouded up automatically for privacy. The Professor's cane clinked on the floor, catching the women's attention.
"Welcome back," Professor Broom said with a small smile. "Granted, you arrived at a bad time."
Liz gave him a smile back, "It's only for a short time, then I'll be on my way."
He gave her a nod in reply and said, "Come and go as you please. Find your way back. You'll see we've made quite a few changes—"
A large crash cut the professor off. Liz ducked with a yell. Maizie stepped in front of them. The glass shattered as a locker flew. It landed a few feet away from the three, screeching alongside the floor. They looked back to see Manning stepping through the broken hole, terrified.
"I want that thing locked up, starting now…Now!" Manning screeched before he ran off.
Liz looked at Broom, "Changes? What changes?"
Broom shook his head and followed the sounds of Manning raging. The sound of glass crunching caught their attention and Hellboy stepped through, shirtless and bandaged up. He spotted Liz. His eyes widened in shock.
"Liz? Liz! You're back!" Hellboy grinned in glee.
Liz rolled her eyes and walked off. Hellboy, too excited, looked at Maizie.
"You actually did it!"
Maizie shook her head, muttering under her breath. She followed Liz and Hellboy, completely oblivious, raised his arms and shouted with glee.
"Woo hoo!"
