I make anonymous donations to our treasury every now and then, so I'm not keeping the wealth all to myself or anything... I just don't want the rest of the Shepherds to start asking for handouts... I'm told that relationships can sour fast when money gets involved...

Link: Not in this world, at least.

Link: N-No... That is definitely not happening.

Gregor: Oh, do not be doubting. He is exalt, you forget? He is having powerful connections all throughout Ylisse! Will be no problem finding you attractive wife.

Link: That's... That's not the issue. Look, I'm not opposed to finding a partner one day... but not like that. It'd be the same as an arranged marriage... I'd be wed to a complete stranger.

Gregor: You would be wed to beautiful stranger!

Link: Doesn't matter how nice she looks... And another thing... If Chrom, the king of Ylisse, asks a woman to marry me, what are the chances she'd say no?... I'd always be wondering whether her feelings for me are genuine or not... It'd be terrible.

Gregor: Seems true love is not option for reward, then... Is good thing, though! When it comes to matters of heart, you must have high standards. Is big, life-changing decision, you see? Link will be knowing love when he finds it.

Link: ...Anything else you got?

Gregor: You are not wanting money or love... You have considered great fame?

Link: Fame, huh? I'd take your last suggestions over more of that...

Gregor: What is matter? Everyone like to be praised for helping others. This is good, no?

Link: It can be good... I get tired of it pretty fast, though. I don't care for all the attention.

Gregor: How is this? Chrom has giant, bronze statue made of you. Is placed in Ylisstol and has inscription that is reading 'Made in honor of Link: heroic time warrior'. This thought is giving great excitement, yes?

Link: Sorry to keep shooting you down, but... nah, that'd just embarrass me. I'm really not one for gaudy things like that.

Gregor: Hmm... Gregor fears he is running out of ideas...

Link: Think of it this way, Gregor... Why does Chrom fight in this war? What reward does he get at the end of all this?

Gregor: What Chrom is getting? He fights for no material goods. He fights to keep people of Ylisse safe, that is all.

Link: Do you think he's content with that?

Gregor: Yes... Gregor is sure of this.

Link: Well... It's the same for me. After all this time, the Shepherds are practically family to me. I don't want money or fame for keeping this world safe... Just knowing that all of you can live peacefully is the only reward I need. Simple enough... right?
