Link: Woah... The stone of agony is going off? I haven't had it react even once since I've been in this world... I wonder why... Is there some sort of secret here? In the middle of camp?
Tharja: ...
Link: Is... Is that...?
Tharja: ...
Link: Uh... Hey, Tharja... are you following me, maybe?
Tharja: ...
Link: If there's something you need from me... why don't you come closer-
Tharja: Hnnnggg! Get back, you divine freak!
Link: W-What's wrong?!
Tharja: Tch! 'What's wrong?' he asks... It seems you're dull and a freak.
Link: Could you just... explain what the problem is instead of insulting me?... I'm not trying to create trouble for you.
Tharja: The problem is the proximity between us, you fool. Do you not realize why I'm standing so far away?
Link: ...Don't you follow Robin around like that? I thought that was just... a thing you did... Y'know, stalking people from a distance, or something.
Tharja: Do not even insinuate that you and Robin, of all people, are on equal footing, you arrogant buffoon. My reasons for keeping tabs on the two of you are completely different.
Link: ...Do you mind telling what that difference is, then?
Tharja: Gods... If you weren't so slow-witted, you'd already understand... I am maintaining this distance so that I avoid getting too close to your wretched aura.
Link: My... aura?
Tharja: Yes... It is obnoxiously bright... Clearly divine in nature... I can't bear to stand in your presence lest I pass out on the spot. It is utterly revolting.
Link: You're really telling the truth?... I didn't even know that I had an 'aura'.
Tharja: I'm a dark mage. Perceiving one's aura is second nature for one as well-practiced as I. Unfortunately, your aura is so nauseatingly bright that I cannot ignore it. It makes itself known without any effort on my part. What a pain...
Link: Huh... I had no idea.
Tharja: Of course you didn't, you simpleton... Given your impressive show of intelligent thought thus far, I'm guessing you also have no idea why you possess such a bright aura, do you?
Link: Why I'd have a 'bright aura'?... The only thing that comes to mind is the Triforce of Courage.
Tharja: The artifact on the back of your hand? It is definitely strongest at that location.
Link: It's part of a sacred relic created by the goddesses of my world... It was bestowed upon me as their chosen hero.
Tharja: Psh! Heroic prophecies and divine artifacts? After what I've seen... it's believable, I guess.
Link: ...I'm sorry about this, Tharja... I wish I knew about this sooner.
Tharja: Your apology is meaningless. If you wish to atone, simply stay away from me.
Link: ...*sigh* That could have gone better...

Link: The stone of agony... again? Does that mean...?
Tharja: ...
Link: ...I see you behind that crate, Tharja. I thought you wanted to stay away from me, but... here you are... following me again.
Tharja: As always, I have my reasons.
Link: ...Well, I think I deserve to know why. This does involve me, after all.
Tharja: Fine. My first reason... is for knowledge.
Link: ...You want to study my unique aura, I'm guessing?
Tharja: Because your brightness is so suffocating, I took steps to limit its effect.
Link: You can do that, huh?
Tharja: With a specific hex, I can. I've never had a reason to use it before, but you've actually provided me with a practical scenario. Normally, auras are weak and need to be actively sought out to observe. You, however, are clearly an exception.
Link: ...Wait... That means you put a hex on me, then?
Tharja: Yes, last night while you were sleeping.
Link: H-Hold on... While I was... *groan* Tharja... Please promise you won't sneak into my tent at night anymore.
Tharja: Settle down, would you? All I did was place a hex. Nothing worth freaking out over.
Link: ...Whatever... So, did it work? Can you stand near me without being... affected?
Tharja: As far as I can tell, it had no effect at all. I wonder if your aura is just too significant to be dampened. Or maybe the holy blessing from your goddess nullifies hexes entirely. You've given me many interesting experiments to try, I must say.
Link: Just to be clear... I'm not consenting to any of this.
Tharja: Hmhmhm! Oh, I'm well aware...
Link: *sigh* So... you said that was your first reason? That means you have another, yeah?
Tharja: ...It disgusts me to admit this, but there is something about this oppressive aura of yours that... draws me toward you.
Link: ...I don't get it... I thought being near me made you pass out?
Tharja: It baffles me just the same. Over time, I seem to be growing a tolerance for it... No, more than that... A desire has grown within me to witness this aura, to be near it... It's like a terrible joke, yes, but it's the truth nevertheless.
Link: That's good, though... isn't it? Eventually, you might not have to avoid me at all.
Tharja: Yes... At the end of the day, this will benefit me... However, knowing you, you'll now start asking me to join you in the wonderful throes of friendship, I'm sure. You'll pester me to pick flowers in a meadow, or draw pictures of ugly, little rabbits with you, hmm?
Link: No... You can do whatever you want, Tharja. It does sound like you want to spend more time around me, though... Isn't that what you're saying?
Tharja: ...
Link: If we're gonna spend time with each other... don't you think we should spend it doing something fun?
Tharja: Grrraaahhh! This is precisely what I meant! Your heart is so dreadfully pure that it makes me want to vomit!
Link: ...But it's also the quality of mine that draws you toward me... right?
Tharja: Ugh! Why must I feel this way?... If it wasn't painfully obvious what an idiot you are, I'd have assumed that you put a hex on me!

Tharja: ...
Link: Y'know, Tharja... I've noticed that you've been following me around a lot more than usual lately... Do you even have time to keep tabs on Robin, anymore?
Tharja: Robin had me captivated from the moment I saw them. I was so certain that no one else could command my attention they way they had... but I have been proven wrong... Though I will always hold a deep affection for them, my interest now belongs to another.
Link: ...Me...
Tharja: Is it not obvious?
Link: ...I'm... honored, I guess... that you'd find me so fascinating, but... I feel like people will get the wrong idea when they see you trailing me all the time.
Tharja: I couldn't care less. If those fools could feel what I feel, they would understand. If they can't... then their concerns mean nothing.
Link: Uh... Right...
Tharja: Now then, carry on as you were.
Link: ...You sure you don't wanna try... interacting more? I can't get to know you very well when you're standing a dozen feet away.
Tharja: As alluring as your luminance is, you can be frustratingly clueless because of it... Listen well, Link... Yes, I do desire to grow closer to you, but I know my place. You are the wielder of a light that must not be tainted, and I am a sorceress of the shadows... We are not meant to stand side-by-side! I will observe you from afar, as I always have.
Link: ...I'm no mage, but... it seems to me like you're just making stuff up... You say that my 'light will be tainted'? How do you know that, though?
Tharja: Because it only makes sense.
Link: ...What about all those hexes you tried placing on me? You said that my aura was so strong that they didn't even work... So I doubt that me being around you would change anything.
Tharja: ...I suppose you have a point...
Link: ...Tharja... are you just nervous to be around me?... Maybe you're scared that I'm going turn you away... so you make up reasons for why you need to keep your distance from me.
Tharja: N-No! That's absurd! I'm only interested in your blinding light and nothing else.
Link: ...If you say so... but still, If you ever do want to hang out, I won't reject you... I find you to be really interesting as well. You've put a lot of walls up around you. and you give off these dangerous vibes that push others away... I can tell you're a caring person underneath all of that, though.
Tharja: Ugh... And there's that light of yours... So sickeningly sweet, but I can't deny its pull... Fine! I will attempt to befriend you, but we're doing this my way.
Link: Okay, sure... What do you have in mind?
Tharja: I've learned of some sinister, new curses that I'd like to try out, but I lack fresh ingredients. If you're so desperate for my company, then assist me in collecting a pile of bat wings.
Link: Bat wings, huh? Oh, right... Those Keese look-alikes... I've got experience exploring caves. With my help, I think you'll have those spoils in no time.
Tharja: How about sea urchins and venomous spiders? That's more trouble than it's worth, wouldn't you say?
Link: Well, I'm pretty good with my bug-catching net... If I have no trouble catching fairies, I'm sure I can catch those, too.
Tharja: Confident, aren't you? And what if I asked you capture Risen and bring them back here? How far are you willing to go for me, hmm?
Link: Would you be able to learn more about them and their weaknesses if I did?
Tharja: ...I believe so.
Link: Then I'm your guy.
Tharja: Hmph... Perhaps this arrangement won't be as bad as I anticipated.

Tharja: Behind you, my dearest.
Link: W-Woah!... Oh... Sorry, Tharja... You gave me a start.
Tharja: I require your complete and undivided attention.
Link: ...Are you all right? You usually don't stand so close...
Tharja: The sheer potency of your aura does cause me to keep my distance, yes. At this very moment, however, I'll endure this closeness and prove my resolve to you.
Link: Hmm? What do you have to prove to-
Tharja: I present this to you, my beloved.
Link: ...What is it?
Tharja: An amulet. It matches the one around my neck.
Link: ...Oh... Well, thank you... It's beautiful.
Tharja: My desire is that you will accept this offering, and by extension, myself. It will serve as proof that we belong to each other and no one else.
Link: ...Belong to?... Tharja, is this, like... a marriage proposal?
Tharja: Sure, you could view it as such. But I need no ceremony or priest to make our union 'official'... All I need is your acceptance.
Link: ...This is really what you want? I remember you saying that you had a... desire to be near me... but you still have difficulty doing so... Does marriage really make sense if you can't even bear to touch me?
Tharja: Doesn't matter. Even if it's progressing slowly, I am building a tolerance to your light. And even if I was destined to cherish you from afar for all my days, my decision remains. I want your shining radiance all for myself... Ahhh... It is a blight upon my skin, yet so alluring, so stimulating... mmhmhm! No other is deserving of it!
Link: ...I'm glad you're so passionate about my... light... but what about me?
Tharja: ...What about you?
Link: Do you actually have feelings for me?... I wouldn't want to be married to someone who wants me only for my... aura, or whatever...
Tharja: *sigh*... If pouring my heart out like some head-over-heels schoolgirl will ease your worries, then fine... Yes, I do harbor some slight affection for you, Link... You're helpful, kind, accepting... I admit that those qualities are probably what started as the base for such a strong aura in the first place.
Link: Heh... I like you too, Tharja. You always try so hard to hide it, but... I think you're sweet.
Tharja: Sweet?... Sweet?! I'm a dark mage, you dolt... I curse and hex friends and foes alike. I am anything but sweet!
Link: Yeah, that's what you say, at least... I know you well enough, though, to see that you care about everyone here... You put hexes on some of us, but it's always harmless stuff, and sometimes even beneficial... You're more pleasant than most realize.
Tharja: Tch!... You find good in others even when there is none to be found.
Link: All right, Tharja... I accept your offering, and I'll wear it always... This feels a bit sudden, but... it feels right.
Tharja: Heeheehee! To finally claim this unrestrained light as mine and mine alone... This is true bliss!
Link: Let me know if there's any way I can help you get acclimated to being closer to me... I know it's probably too much right now, but... Maybe we could try holding hands? That'd be fun... don't you think?
Tharja: ...Really? Hand-holding? That's what you're fixated on?... *sigh* This embarrassment will be the end of me...
A/N:
As far as Link's 'aura' goes, I don't know. I'm just making stuff up that leads to some fun scenarios. One of Tharja's defining traits is her obsessive liking of Robin, and in her supports with other characters, she doesn't get to show that trait off much. With this chapter, I wanted to show her disliking Link at first (her more annoyed, disgusted side), and then she gradually develops that crazy obsession for him that is similar to what she has for Robin. The idea of Link's 'aura' being the cause of this seemed to make for a passable excuse.
