Cherche: Minerva, what do you have there? A piece of clothing? A scarf, perhaps?

Link: *pant* Finally caught up...

Cherche: Why, hello, Link! How are you today?

Link: Hey, Cherche... I'm... fine... Just a little outta breath trying to catch your wyvern...

Cherche: Hmm? You have business with her?

Link: She, uh... She took my hat, so I've been chasing her down for the last few minutes... I've learned that it's not easy catching something that can fly.

Cherche: Minerva! You should know better! Drop it now, please... Thank you.

Link: ...I wish she listened to me that well...

Cherche: Oh, goodness... It was your adorable, green hat that she snatched!

Link: ...Adorable?

Cherche: Oh, of course. It reminds me of the cute sleeping caps I wore as a child. Though I found your clothing strange at first, I must say; your silly hat never fails to get a smile out of me.

Link: That's not the type of reaction that I'm used to...

*Minerva roars*

Cherche: Seems Minerva agrees! She says she's never seen such captivating headwear before. Apparently, that's why she stole it in the first place.

Link: That's nice and all... but maybe you could convince her to ask next time.

Cherche: Dear me... There's a few tears in it thanks to Minerva's rough handling. Not to mention all the wyvern saliva that it's drenched in...

Link: It's... It's okay... I've worn it for a long time. It's already pretty beat up as is.

Cherche: Now, now. I can't allow you to wear this ragged thing. To make up for my partner's misbehavior, I insist that I give your hat a small repair job.

Link: ...A repair job?

Cherche: I'll give it a thorough washing, and I'll mend all those rips and holes as well.

Link: Oh... I didn't know you could sew.

Cherche: I'm no professional seamstress, but I fix up clothing for the other shepherds in my spare time. I'd wager your hat will look good as new!

Link: Thank you... You sure you have time for that, though? You always seem pretty busy, so I don't want to-

Cherche: Oh, shush. This naughty girl over here is responsible, so I owe it to you. Besides, it's essential that you have the centerpiece of your outfit. Your cute look would suffer without that hat, I'm certain.

Link: ...Are you trying to embarrass me? If you are... then it's working.

Cherche: Heehee! I'm sorry, sweetie, but you fluster so easily. I'm afraid I can't help myself.

Link: ...Ah...

Cherche: I'm not merely teasing, though. You're very sweet, Link. A dashing, young man like you? I'm sure you have plenty of secret admirers among the army. Surely you're used to this sort of thing?

Link: ...I don't think I'll ever get used to it...

Cherche: Back again so soon, Link? Your hat needs another patch-up, does it?

Link: Y-Yeah, sorry... It wasn't Minerva this time, actually. I just got a bit reckless in the last battle.

Cherche: That's surprising given how many times your hat's been stolen by her. She's taken a real shine to you, you know.

Link: ...Do you know why?

Cherche: Well, I'll just say that I'm not the only one who finds you adorable. Truth be told... she might even have developed feelings for you.

Link: H-Hold on ...A wyvern is in love with me?

Cherche: Oh, yes. As I said, she's certainly fond of you, so it's not so surprising. You won't go breaking her heart now, will you? I'll have a bone to pick with you if you don't treat her right...

Link: I... uh... Wait, I need to think for a second...

Cherche: Hmhm! Don't stress yourself out, sweetie. I was only joking.

Link: ...R-Right... I'll pretend like I knew that.

Cherche: On a serious note, Link, there's something I'm curious about... Do you not trust Minerva?

Link: ...Why do you ask?

Cherche: You seem fearful of her. To be fair, most people are, but I hadn't noticed that type of reaction from you before. Around other people and even a taguel like Panne, you can be shy or nervous, but this seems different. I've never seen you show hesitance like you do with Minerva.

Link: ...Normally, I don't think I would... but I've had a past experience that leads to my fear.

Cherche: You've had a run-in with a wyvern before?

Link: Not a wyvern... A dragon from my home world called Volvagia... The King of Evil revived it, and used it as a warning to anyone who would revolt against him... He would feed people to the dragon.

Cherche: Goodness...

Link: I struggled against it in a brutal fight... It was frightening, to say the least... I know dragons and wyverns aren't the same, but Minerva evokes some of those rough memories, I guess. I hope you understand that it's nothing personal.

Cherche: I do understand. I won't pressure you into addressing your fear, but Minerva might. I'm sure she'll try her best to win you over.

*Minerva roars*

Link: Heh... Well, that's okay. She's already started to, I think.

Cherche: That's quite some tale, though. You were really locked in life-and-death combat with a man-eating dragon?

Link: ...Yeah... Might be hard to believe, but... I'm used to fighting battles where the odds seem completely stacked against me... Facing off against Gangrel doesn't even compare to some of the hellish creatures I went up against in Hyrule.

Cherche: To have these burdens forced upon you... You poor thing...

Link: It never did feel fair to me, it's true. When it came time to put my life on the line, I barely had any help... It always felt like it was me against the world... but I wasn't going to let the people of Hyrule just die.

Cherche: Did you feel obligated to help your people despite the circumstances?

Link: It's funny now that I think about it... I didn't even know I was a Hylian for a long time, but... yeah, it was something like that... It wouldn't feel right to let innocent people suffer a cruel fate if there's something I could do about it.

Cherche: I can very much relate. For my people of Rosanne, I willingly fight for their safety, and I will do so until they are out of harm's way. As a vassal of House Virion, that's what I expect of myself.

Link: ...Seems we've got something in common, huh?

Cherche: *ahem*...

Link: Oh... There you are, Cherche... You doing okay? Did you take any hits in the field?

Cherche: ...

Link: What's with the glare?... Are you mad or some-

Cherche: I am not simply mad, Link, I am rather furious.

Link: ...W-What happened?

Cherche: To answer you previous question... No, I did not receive any injuries, but I'm not sure that I would have even noticed if I had. You were so reckless and intrusive that I could hardly focus on what I was doing!

Link: M-Me?... What did I-

Cherche: Do not even attempt to play the fool, mister. It is painfully obvious that you were trying to protect me.

Link: ...What's wrong with that? I always protect my allies.

Cherche: Not to such a fervorous degree, however. Today, Minerva and I were not able to fell a single foe. This is because you would use that wind magic of yours to warp nearby, close the gap, and engage any opponent that so much as took a glance in my direction.

Link: Was I that bad?... I honestly don't remember it like that.

Cherche: You were so concerned for my well-being, but there was no need for that. My life was never in danger, thanks to your hovering around me. I could have forgotten my axe at camp as Vaike does, and nothing would have changed.

Link: ...But still... what's the problem?... Everyone in this army should do their best to keep each other safe, right?

Cherche: Within reason. Tell me, Link... Do you think me an amateur? Do you think me unable to defend myself?

Link: N-No... Not at all.

Cherche: Then what is it? Have you fallen hopelessly in love with me? You cannot bear to leave my side even when your own life is at risk? Please, explain to me why you're acting so carelessly.

Link: ...I want to keep you safe because you're one of the closest friends I have... You've always been so kind and pleasant towards me... You talk with me, you teach me, you help me... I'm not in love with you, but I really do care about you... and I don't want to see you or Minerva get hurt.

Cherche: *sigh* Oh, Link... I care about you too, and I sympathize with what you say. I'd throw myself into harm's way to spare you from pain all the same, but you need to be smarter about this. If you got hurt trying to protect me from something that I could have handled my own, how do you think I'd feel?

Link: ...Okay, I get it... Sorry, then... I'll do better, I promise.

Cherche: I accept your apology, sweetie. And I don't mean to put extra pressure on you, but if you don't keep that promise, Minerva and I will be very cross with you.

Link: ...Could you not smile when you threaten me? You're making my skin crawl...

Cherche: Oh, hush now. Look, you have cuts all over your arms and face from trying to be my hero. Will you sit down and let me disinfect those, or will I have to drag you over here?

Link: A-All right, I'm coming... You don't have to be so smothering, y'know...

Cherche: Who's smothering who now? If I recall, you were the one fighting my battles for me, isn't that right?

Link: ...All right... Point taken...

Cherche: Excellent work today, Link! All those hours we spent training are starting to bear fruit!

Link: ...Yeah... For sure...

Cherche: The synergy between me, you, and Minerva... It's really something, isn't it? Even when I'm lost in the heat of battle, she always has her eye on you, keeping you out of trouble. Between the three of us, the enemy can't seem to mount any meaningful offense.

Link: ...I agree...

Cherche: And I must be candid with you... Your idea of riding with Minerva and I while dropping bombs on the enemy forces from high above? Simply put, I thought the plan was dangerous at best and completely absurd at worst... but you proved me wrong! It worked splendidly!

Link: ...Mmhmm...

Cherche: Link... What's the matter? Is something on your mind? You stay focused in battle, but when we get back to camp... I didn't want to pry, but you've been so distant lately.

Link: ...I...uh... *sigh* I don't know, Cherche... I'm not trying to hide stuff from you, but... I also can't talk with you about this either...

Cherche: You once called me one of your closest friends, if you remember. Who better to discuss your problems with than a close friend?

Link: It's... The problem isn't you, it's... Well, I guess you kind of are... but I don't mean that in a bad way!... What I mean is...

Cherche: Sweetie, you're not making any sense.

Link: ...Maybe I should just tell you, then.

Cherche: Whatever this is, you can trust me with it, Link.

Link: ...That conversation you mentioned before? When I called you my friend?... Well, you were wondering why I was trying to protect you so much... and you asked me if I had fallen in love with you... I said that wasn't it, but-

Cherche: You mean...?

Link: Y-Yeah... I kinda like you... a lot... Even back then, I did... Now that feeling's grown even stronger, and I wasn't sure if I should even say anything...

Cherche: Hmhm! So that's what this is all about. You really know how to keep a woman waiting, sweetie.

Link: ...Waiting?... Did you already know about this?

Cherche: Oh yes, I've known for some time. Seeing you try your hardest to act innocent around me... You were simply adorable, Link.

Link: ...I see... Even now you're still toying with me... I'm guessing you don't see me that way, then? You're always calling me cute and sweet, but... that's a far cry from being in love, I'm sure...

Cherche: Are you trying to decide for me, now? That's not very considerate of you.

Link: ...Then... you do like me?

Cherche: You really couldn't tell? I've fancied you from the moment we started talking! You and that charming hat of yours. If you'd decided not to confide in me, I would have taken charge myself.

Link: Oh... Well, now I feel stupid...

Cherche: You sure you know what you're getting into, love? I can be one mischievous girl, as you must already know. And you aren't just accepting me, but Minerva as well. We're a package deal, of course. You sure you can handle us?

Link: ...Probably not... but I'd like to try.

Cherche: Hah! Not the most confident answer, but I suppose that's part of your charm! So, may I see the ring?

Link: ...Ring?... Was I supposed to get one of those?... Oh, duh... It's just like the Zora Sapphire, I should have known...

Cherche: Relax, love. I'm just teasing you again. We can think about marriage down the line, if you'd prefer.

Link: ...I'll never learn...
