Anna: One bottle of 'Valmese Milk'... All right... Next?
Link: ...That's all.
Anna: But I've got all kinds of wares from all over the world... This is all you want? A beverage?
Link: ...Yeah.
Anna: Seriously?
Link: Mmhmm... I like milk... I thought I'd try some from this world, too... See how it compares to what I'm used to.
Anna: Okay, whatever. That'll be two gold coins.
Link: Oh, that's right... You guys use a different currency here...
Anna: Do you have nothing to pay with, or...?
Link: Uh... I don't have any gold coins... but what about one of these? Will this cover it?
Anna: What the... Holy smokes! You'll give me that for a single bottle of milk?!
Link: Not good enough, then? That's okay... I'll just put it back where I found it.
Anna H-Hold your horses! I didn't say that! I'm just... a little shocked right now...
Link: About what?
Anna: Are you messing with me, blondie? You're really offering me that green jewel?
Link: ...Will it pay for the milk?
Anna: Of course it will! You could buy my whole supply of milk ten times over with that thing!
Link: ...Oh... Good... Here, then.
Anna: I can't believe you handed it over like it was nothing...
Link: It's fine. I've got plenty of these... Hey, thanks for the milk... If I like it, maybe I'll come back and buy some more.
Anna: Wait, wait, wait! You've got more of these gemstones?
Link: ...Yeah... A couple hundred probably.
Anna: I... I, uh... You... Money... I mean... I meant to say, I...
Link: You okay? You're... drooling...
Anna: G-Get it together, Anna... Hold up, cutie! It's Link, right? Are you suuuure that's all you wanna buy? 'Cause I've got plenty of great stuff here for a travelling warrior like you! Weapons, armor, potions, you name it!
Link: ...I guess I've got time to hear you out.
Anna: You're a swordsman, huh? Why not ditch that old thing you're carrying and try this out... A brave sword! It's extremely lightweight so it won't slow you down, and it still manages to pack a serious punch!
Link: I'm sure it's a good blade... but I'm not looking for a new one. The sword I've got is one of a kind... When I'm fully rested, it shoots beams of light when I swing it, so... I don't think anything you have here will come close to comparing... No offense.
Anna: Not even a levin sword? It doesn't shoot beams of light, but it shoots lightning!
Link: ...No, Anna. I don't need a new sword... I'm certain
Anna: *sigh* Okay, okay, how about this? I'll get in contact with some of my sisters and get a hold of some truly impressive gear. The kind of stuff that'll have you begging to trade those precious gems to me!
Link: ...All right... Let me know when you're ready.

Anna: Step right this way, handsome!
Link: It took you longer to prepare your wares than I was expecting.
Anna: Oh, I know! It took some restraint on my end to wait this long, but it was for good reason. As you may know, I have many, many sisters... All of them named Anna, all saleswomen like me. Some of them are scattered across the world, but most of them? Most of them traveled to the outrealms and found new homes in completely different worlds.
Link: ...One of your sisters could have visited my world, then?
Anna: Maybe! So, I met up with some of my fellow Annas, and I told them what I was looking for; epic gear that would satisfy the most legendary of heroes! Believe it or not, came through for me.
Link: ...That so?
Anna: Ever heard of Lorule?
Link: 'Lo-Rule'?... No, I haven't, but it sounds a lot like Hyrule.
Anna: I thought the same! Perhaps it's a world closely tied to yours? Anyway, that's not important... What is important is that one of my sisters met with a merchant from this land, an odd fellow named Ravio.
Link: ...Never heard of him.
Anna: He was renting out some weapons and tools that would undoubtedly benefit a guy like you. I paid my sister to buy them all, and I've got them here for you today!
Link: Huh... Okay, I'll take a look.
Anna: Feast your eyes on this... The Tornado Rod! Using one's magic power, this rod can carry you up into the air and over danger! Quite the item, no?
Link: ...Yeah, it could be useful... but I've already got my hookshot and hover boots for getting across chasms or reaching an area that's higher up... I don't think that rod will do me any good, really.
Anna: Tch... Get a load of this one, then... The Sand Wand! With this instrument, you can bend sand to your will! Create pathways, use it as a limitless weapon, turn a desert into your personal playground! It can do all of this and more!
Link: It's... different, that's for sure. Seems like more of a novelty than anything... If it only works with sand, then it'll be useless in most scenarios... I don't think I'd pay much for something so situational.
Anna: Grrr... The Hammer! Simple, yes, but oh-so effective! Is there an obstacle in your way? Boulders, trees, even foes? Smash 'em into pieces with this bad boy!
Link: ...Nah, I've already got a hammer... Mine looks way stronger, too... The Gorons made it out of an extremely durable metal.
Anna: If you're gonna be so stingy, then I have no choice but to make you an offer you can't refuse! A two-for-one deal! The Fire Rod and the Ice Rod! Complete control over two of nature's fiercest elements, all for one modest purchase! What do you say to that?!
Link: ...That's a good deal, but... I don't have a need for those rods... I can already shoot fire and ice arrows with my bow and a little magic power... Buying those things would just be redundant.
Anna: Come on, blondie! Would you give me a break?! I went through all the trouble of meeting with my sisters, sending them out to find something that might catch your attention for even a second, bought out another merchant's entire selection, and you barely even give me a chance!
Link: ...Actually... You're right, I am being stingy... and you're only trying to help me out... How about I buy all of these items for one rupee a piece? That means you get five gemstones... That's good for you, right?
Anna: ...Only five? You told me before that you've got hundreds on you...
Link: Hey... I don't need any of this stuff... Would you rather I just walk away?
Anna: N-No, no! Five gemstones is plenty! Thank you so much for your patronage, handsome! I'll do my best to bring you even more hot deals in the future!

Anna: So lemme get this straight... These jewels are called rupees. A green one counts for a single unit of currency. Larger amounts are the same size, but come in different colors. You've got around five-hundred rupees worth of jewels on you right now, and you were able to collect so many because you... chopped away at grass?
Link: ...Yeah... Sounds right.
Anna: But that makes no sense! How'd you get all that from cutting grass? Are the people in Hyrule so desperate to have their front lawns trimmed that they'll dump precious gemstones on anyone who helps out?
Link: You've got it wrong... I didn't cut grass as some sort of errand, I just chopped away at tall grass and bushes that I found across the land... You'll often find a rupee or two hidden in the overgrowth.
Anna: You're telling me that these things are just lying out in the wilderness for anyone to take? Finders keepers? No strings attached?
Link: ...Pretty much.
Anna: Hyrule's looking like a great vacation spot right about now... Anyway, I've got another question for you; if finding rupees in Hyrule is so simple, why aren't you carrying more on you?
Link: Because five-hundred is all I can fit in my wallet.
Anna: ...Your wallet?
Link: Yeah... This sack I have here... If I try to carry more than that, the rupees won't fit.
Anna: Don't you use some sort of magic that lets you carry, like, a million different weapons on you? Like your bow, for example. I can't see any spot on your clothing where you could conceal it.
Link: It's... It's not magic, I just... put the stuff in my pockets.
Anna: Riiight... My point still stands, though. Why can't you just cram more gemstones in your limitless pockets, hmm?
Link: Because, uh... it just has to go in my wallet, I guess... In the past, I've come across treasure chests with gold rupees in them that are worth two-hundred just by themselves, but I had to leave them behind... because I was already carrying the maximum amount that my wallet could handle.
Anna: Link, that's beyond stupid... Why couldn't you just throw one of the green ones away and take the gold one? They take up the same amount of space, right?
Link: ...I... Look, you're asking too many questions, Anna... When I get back to Hyrule, I'll look into buying a bigger wallet.
Anna: Well... back to our original topic... Is there nothing I can do to pry more of these beautiful gems from you? No matter how hard I try to sell my products, you won't buy anything from me... How am I supposed to do business with you, Mr. Cheapskate?
Link: Sorry, Anna... I don't think there's anything else you're selling that I'd be interested in.
Anna: ...You suuure about that, cutie? I can think of something that might get you excited! A tantalizing service that I only offer to my most precious of customers!
Link: Really?... Like what?
Anna: Gods, you're clueless... Forget it, I wasn't being serious. I just wanted to see you squirm a little...
Link: How about this... I'll give you a rupee every time we meet up for a... fun activity or something.
Anna: Fun activity? What exactly would that entail?
Link: Y'know, like... Eating at a restaurant... going shopping... sharing stories... That kind of thing.
Anna: You'll pay me just for spending time with you? That's all you want?
Link: ...Yeah, sure... Every time we talk, it's always about money and sales pitches... I thought it'd be nice to hang out as friends for once, instead of as a customer and a saleswoman.
Anna: Oh my! Are you hitting on me, Link? Paying a beautiful woman to join you for a romantic dinner? I didn't know you could be so bold!
Link: Oh, no... It's nothing like that, don't worry. I just meant as friends, that's all.
Anna: *sigh* You're not one for playing along, are you?... All right, blondie, you've got yourself a deal! For a gorgeous gemstone? I'll gladly be your date! Naga knows I've worked much harder for much less... And who knows? Maybe you'll show me a good time.

Link: Thanks again for coming along, Anna... I've heard this restaurant is highly-rated, so... I'm hoping you'll like it.
Anna: Would you stop thanking me? As usual, you're paying for the meal, and you're paying me to accompany you. I've never met a man as generous as you.
Link: You sure about that?... You used to call me 'stingy'... ' ', I believe it was.
Anna: Weeell... Yeah, you did frustrate me to no end back when we first met. But look at how things have changed! It's not that you were stingy, I just hadn't figured you out yet.
Link: ...'Figured me out'?
Anna: Yep! You weren't interested in buying weapons or armor, you just wanted a pretty girl to talk to. You're a sly dog, Link!
Link: That's not...
Anna: I know, I know... You just wanted to be friends, right?
Link: R-Right...
Anna: But I've gotta know... Why me?
Link: Hmm?
Anna: You've been a part of the Shepherds longer than I have. You've been surrounded by interesting people for years now. Why is it that you want to spend time with me so bad?
Link: ...It's no secret that I'm a quiet person... but during my journey in Hyrule, I was even more closed off than I am now... Looking back on my travels, I wish I had taken the time to talk more with the people I met.
Anna: I can understand that, but isn't what you're doing a bit excessive? This army's full of kind souls that'd love to learn more about a legendary hero. I'm sure none of them will ask you for a payment, either.
Link: That's true...
Anna: So, I'll ask again; why me instead of the others? Were you just taken in by my womanly charms?
Link: ...I like how vibrant you are... You're smart, quick-witted, and always so driven... and yeah... truthfully, I was stunned at how pretty you are... I felt like I'd regret not getting to know more about you.
Anna: Aw! Were you crushing on me this whole time? You didn't need to be so shy, cutie! Working in sales, I get hit on by guys all the time. I'm plenty used to it!
Link: ...I wasn't trying to... win your affections, though... I really did just want to talk with you more.
Anna: Well, you certainly got what you wanted. How many outings have we been on now? Eight? Maybe nine?... Now that you've had time to see the real me, what do you think? You still charmed?
Link: ...Yeah, I am... but I don't want my feelings to get in the way... Something platonic was all I expected to get out of this, and I'd understand if you... would rather not keep this arrangement going... now that you know how I feel.
Anna: Psh! You think I'm gonna let you off the hook that easy? Sorry babe, but you're stuck with me now!
Link: ...What are you saying?
Anna: Enough with this 'payment' crap, Link. You have the hots for me. I have the hots for you. Let's make this thing official!
Link: ...You're serious?... Just like that?
Anna: Sure am! Like I said, I'm used to men falling head over heels for me, but you're the first I've met that sees beyond my good looks and personal savings. Also doesn't hurt that you're a hunk... My heart's telling me that you're worth holding onto, and that's that!
Link: ...Are you really sure about this?
Anna: Yes, already! Maybe this is a sudden for you, but I'm a fickle girl, Link. It took me 'til now to realize what I want, but I'm more than ready to take the leap now. So, what's it gonna be? Do you want me or not?
Link: ...Uh... Wow, okay... I... Yes, It'd be an honor to date you, Anna.
Anna: That's what I want to hear! C'mere you!
Link: A-Anna! Can we save the... intimacy... for when we aren't in public?
Anna: Oh? Why don't we ditch this place and find somewhere a little more private, then?
Link: But I... I got us reservations... And I heard they serve good milk here...
Anna: *sigh* All right, we can have dinner first... but you better make it up to me later tonight, okay? I won't take no for an answer!
Link: ...This is a dream come true, but... I wonder if I can keep up with a woman like her...
