The 6 Hopes of the units grow stronger. Junko finally calls the 6 Despairs to do something about it and Maho suggests luring everyone together for a D4DJ BATTLE TIME wherein the winner would be crowned as the Ult. DJ. The contest is advertised as a break from the horrors of war, Hope within Despair, but before the Battle can conclude, everyone is kidnapped.

The next time they wake up, they're in Hope's Pinnacle, although their modified memories make it so that they don't recognize it. They remember each other and schools like Yoba and Arisugawa, but they don't remember Hope's Peak or Pinnacle. The school is run by the "headcatster" Monochio/Monyochio (it/its pronouns).

Like a cat with 9 lives, it has six different personalities (one for each mastermind) and each personality stars in one of the six "chapters" of the Killing Game, which itself is titled the Killing School Transfer (since the D4 students were meant to transfer from Peak to Pinnacle until Junko's Tragedy interfered).

Each personality is a reference to one of the Despairs as well.

Rika's Monochio personality acts exactly like Monokuma as a reference to her being Junko's favorite successor.

Hiiro's is the sexy teacher personality.

Haruna's is an angry disciplinarian.

Maho's is flat and depressed.

Saki had the cute child voice (I combined the gesture Depressed Junko did with this personality by having Saki!Monochio do the "Photon Pose").

-Also, this version of Monochio insists upon being called Monyochio because it "sounds cuter" and on a meta-level allows me to use both spellings of its name.

Then Esora was Queen!Junko.

The beauty of the Killing School Transfer is that because it has a cast of 24 rather than 16, I could've done more than the standard 6 chapters, but it's also possible to complete a DR story in 6 chapters so that's what I ultimately did (pun unintended).

SPOILER

And the reason it cuts off at 6 is because Monochio is killed during the 5th execution, so the surviving masterminds are forced to jump to the last trial in the next chapter. The Despairs also have one specific task, and that is to kill Rinku ASAP, since her Ult. Hope status is a threat to Junko, but whether it's bad luck or incompetency for the masterminds, she survives way longer than she's supposed to.
