Flavia: Good day, Link! I'm happy to have finally tracked you down.
Link: ...Khan Flavia... Anything I can help you with?
Flavia: Indeed, there is. Since joining up with you Shepherds, I've been very impressed with you all. The trust that each soldier shows their peers is truly something special.
Link: Yeah... You and Basilio fit right in, too... When I have experienced fighters like you by my side, it's difficult to shake my confidence.
Flavia: Likewise! While I could speak at length about Chrom's inspiring leadership or Robin's unparalleled tactics, you are the one who has caught my eye most of all.
Link: ...Really?
Flavia: Of course. When it comes to sheer combat prowess, you are among the most skilled I've seen. And as the ruling Khan of Regna Ferox? Challenging an opponent like you will never fail to excite me. I think it's about time I had a crack at you myself!
Link: ...Are you sure? I don't know if that's-
Flavia: What's the matter? Do you think friendly sparring is below someone of my station? If so, you couldn't be further from the truth. Perhaps you think that I am no match for you, is that it?
Link: N-No, it's the opposite... I'm worried I won't be able to live up to your expectations... I'm good, sure, but it's like you said... You're the ruling Khan, so-
Flavia: I meant what I said, Link. I would never give empty praise so frivolously, so I ask that you accept it. Have more confidence in your strength. Do your deeds not reflect my opinion of you?
Link: ...Sometimes it's just hard to believe how far I've come... How much I've accomplished... Some days, I wake up feeling like I did when I picked up a sword for the first time... Lost, full of doubt, over my head... Like a child pretending that he's an adult.
Flavia: Everyone goes through periods of doubt, but with time, that doubt will lessen... At any rate, now is not the time for talk. I've come here for a fight, and I'd have your answer.
Link: ...*sigh*... Yeah, let's go. I'll give you my best, I promise.
Flavia: Excellent! I won't be satisfied with anything less!
-Scene Fade Out/In-
Flavia: *pant* Damn... Now that was an exhilarating match! Haha!
Link: I'll say... *pant*... It was close, but... seems like you've got me beat.
Flavia: If we're only discussing swordplay, perhaps. In a real fight, you rely on much more than just a blade, though. You aren't concerned with 'honor', and you don't confine yourself to the limits of one particular weapon. If our lives were on the line, I'd not be optimistic of my chances!
Link: ...I'm fine with not knowing... The two of us on opposing sides isn't the most pleasant thought.
Flavia: I'm curious, Link... You spoke of picking up a sword for the first time as a child. Were you taught by a mentor? Is there a style or discipline you imitated and expanded upon?
Link: ...Nothing like that... I learned to fight out of necessity, so I'm self-taught, I guess... Just found out what worked as I went along.
Flavia: Hmm, how interesting!... Though, for someone so gifted, you can be terribly modest.
Link: Y-Yeah... I realize... I'll work on that.
Flavia: Oh, do not take it so hard. What I view as docility, others may interpret as humility. Despite all that, you have thoroughly captured my attention.
Link: Uh... I'm glad... I think?
Flavia: Haha! Oh yes, I quite like you! I will take my leave for now, but I ask that you keep honing your abilities for our next bout. If I am there to bring out your best, I know that you will reach even greater heights.
Link: ...Looks like I've got another training partner.

Link: I've got you, Flavia... Do you give?
Flavia: *sigh* Damn it all... All right, I concede... You win again.
Link: ...You sure you wanna keep sparring like this? I still don't feel like this is fair to you.
Flavia: How many times must I say it? Yes, I am certain, Link. I insist that I face you at your best. If I limit you to only your sword, then any victory I claim over you will feel meaningless.
Link: If you're sure that's what you want... You are getting a lot better, though. You get more comfortable with my habits every time... I don't think it'll take much longer for you to close the gap between us.
Flavia: So you say. Until I am able to literally close the gap between us, however, you will always have the edge over me... loath as I am to admit it.
Link: You're getting there. Dodging my boomerang and arrows is much easier for you than it used to be.
Flavia: But that is not enough. By the time I reach you and we begin our clashing of steel, I've already taken a few hits and fatigue has begun to build. I must say; facing a swordsman that also fights effectively from long-range is quite the uphill battle.
Link: That's true... I suppose others who fight like I do aren't that common.
Flavia: Certainly not. You only see a skill set like that among highly experienced fighters. Assassins may wield a bow alongside their primary weapon, and a warrior like Basilio carries one as well. Typically, they do not come close to the proficiency that you have, though. Even Robin, who is skilled with a sword and magic, is easier to approach than you. It's simply not possible for a mage to launch spells as quickly as you shoot your arrows.
Link: ...I never really thought about how unusual my fighting style is... In Hyrule, I fought all sorts of different monsters... Spiders that clung to walls, flaming skulls, creatures that attacked from the water... To defeat them, I had no choice but use ranged weapons.
Flavia: And you're stronger for it! I may seem frustrated at times, but I do enjoy our bouts, Link. It is rare to find someone who can best me so often and is also so willing to give me their time.
Link: ...You've met people who won't fight you?
Flavia: Oh, yes. I've come across individuals whose skill exceeded my own, but many of them felt it would be a waste of time to spar against someone weaker than themselves. Great strength often goes to one's head, I'm afraid.
Link: ...That's a shame... I'm always learning new things... Doesn't matter who I fight.
Flavia: You do me a great honor, my friend. I believe I've grown a considerable amount in just the small amount of time that we've known each other. The fact that you are so willing to accept my challenge has been a refreshing change of pace from what I'm used to.
Link: ...Of course. It's just... I get a little overwhelmed by your... spirit at times. You take our sparring very seriously... I didn't expect you to be so competitive.
Flavia: Does that side of me discourage you?
Link: ...No, I wouldn't say that... I just think that you're being too hard on yourself... You're at a disadvantage when we fight, I hope you realize. Someone like me who can attack from afar and up close? The odds are stacked against you from the start... Just because I'm able to win against you doesn't mean you're any less skilled.
Flavia: I simply do not feel the same, Link. I've claimed Ferox's throne only because I've continually pushed myself, and I will keep on pushing myself until I defeat you. I want to prove beyond reasonable doubt that I am your equal.
Link: You already are my equal, if you ask me... but fine... I doubt I'll change your mind.

Flavia: Link.
Link: ...Hey, Flavia... Here for another match?
Flavia: While the thought is tempting, I've sought you out for a different reason. Please, would you hear me out for a moment?
Link: ...Uh, yeah... Sure.
Flavia: ...
Link: You seem out of it today... You don't have your... usual energy.
Flavia: *ahem* Link, I come to you with an offer.
Link: ...An offer.
Flavia: It is a simple one. As the East Khan of Regna Ferox, I wish to hire you as my champion.
Link: ...'Champion', huh?
Flavia: As you know, Ferox holds a fighting tournament to decide which Khan will rule the nation. In the last tourney, I chose Chrom as my champion, and you fought alongside him with other members of this army.
Link: I know what you're asking of me, but-
Flavia: Please let me finish... I, Khan Flavia, formally extend an invitation to you, Link. I would like you to represent me in all future tournaments as my chosen champion. Should you accept, I promise that any and all expenses will be paid for during your stay in Regna Ferox. Giving your very best to ensure that I remain upon the throne is all that will be required of you.
Link: ...
Flavia: That is all I have to say. Of course, if you need time to consider your options, I am more than willing to wait.
Link: ...I'm sorry, Flavia, but I can't see myself accepting something like this... I have people back home that I haven't seen in years... I don't want to keep them waiting any longer.
Flavia: I see... To be honest, I knew I had little chance of securing your help, but it still stings to see my fears realized.
Link: ...I can't keep getting pulled around anymore... At first, I was Farore's champion, tasked with stopping the King of Evil, then I accepted Naga's request to travel here and fight... It's not that I don't want to help... I'm just tired of giving years of my life away for other people's causes.
Flavia: I do not hold this against you. It was a request, not a demand, and you are within your right to decline. Your response is perfectly understandable, and is exactly as I imagined it would be. That was why I was looking rather dejected earlier, you see. I had little confidence that things would go my way.
Link: ...Sorry.
Flavia: All right, enough apologies. How about that match, then?
Link: ...Of course.
Flavia: You know, I had actually intended on saving this proposal for when I had finally managed to best you. I simply could not wait, however. I grew too impatient, I'm ashamed to say.
Link: Wait... Was this why you were so determined to fight me?
Flavia: Hah! Exactly right! 'If I cannot claim to be his equal in battle, how can I ask for him to champion me?' That was my honest line of thought. Even still, I do not feel as though I had earned the right to even make you such an offer... But what if I never did? There was no guarantee that I would secure a win against you before this war ended, and you departed from this world.
Link: ...So you acted earlier than you would have liked.
Flavia: Yes. I know that your answer would have remained the same, but I value that sort of thing... The desire to prove your worth... It is part of who I am.
Link: ...Flavia, I have a counter-offer for you.
Flavia: Hmm?
Link: Defeat me in a match before we stop Grima, and I'll stay in Ferox long enough to fight in one tournament for you.
Flavia: You're serious, aren't you?
Link: I probably shouldn't have opened my mouth, but... you've inspired me to give you a chance, I guess... Just don't think you'll get your win easily. I've got something on the line now too, so I'll be giving you one-hundred and ten percent.
Flavia: Hmph! Very bold of you, Link... I only hope you won't come to regret this!

Flavia: At last! That was the opening I'd needed for so long!
Link: Nnngh...
Flavia: Don't bother struggling, hero! You're pinned to the ground, and you've a sword against your throat. There's no escaping this.
Link: ...Heh... Wow, you really got me... Well played, Flavia.
Flavia: Same to you, Link. Ahh, it feels as if a burden has been lifted!
Link: You earned it... You fought tooth and nail for that win.
Flavia: Now I have an even more difficult task ahead of me... We have things we must discuss, friend.
Link: If it's about representing you, don't worry... I'll keep my word.
Flavia: I... haven't been entirely honest with you, I'm afraid.
Link: ...Honest about what?
Flavia: The truth is that I am no longer interested in acquiring you as my champion.
Link: You worked so hard for this victory, though... What changed?
Flavia: My feelings for you have changed.
Link: ...In what way?
Flavia: I retract my previous offer. Instead, I have a new proposal for you. This does not involve taking you on as my champion. Rather, I wish to take you as my husband. It is a marriage proposal.
Link: ...
Flavia: If you would rather keep to our earlier promise, I apologize, but I cannot allow that. To have you as my champion, but not as my lover? I don't think I could bear to be around you. If you do not feel the same for me, I think it best that we go our separate ways.
Link: ...
Flavia: Haha! Are you still breathing over there, Link? Or have I merely stunned you into silence?
Link: You... really caught me off guard with this.
Flavia: Matters of the heart cannot wait, my dear! I very much desire your answer, but if you need more time to mull it over, I can grant you this.
Link: ...I don't need time. I've had my mind made up about this for a long time, actually.
Flavia: Oh? But I've only just asked you...
Link: What I'm saying is that... this feeling is mutual... I've fancied you for months, but I was too scared to say anything.
Flavia: For all this time? You should have spoken up!
Link: ...That was another reason why I didn't want to be your champion. If I was going to spend so much time around you, I wanted our relationship to be something more... Seems we both felt that way.
Flavia: You're truly committed to me, then? Accepting this means leaving Hyrule for good. You know this, yes?
Link: ...I do. If Naga can make it happen, I'd like to head back for a few days to say my goodbyes at least... but either way, I'm here to stay.
Flavia: Wonderful, my love! I cannot wait to show you the beautiful country of Regna Ferox! It is a cold land, as you know, but one that is rich with life despite it all. Are you used to such weather in your home world?
Link: Not at all... The only time I've ever experienced a place that cold was... You remember that 'King of Evil' I mentioned before? The big threat to Hyrule?... Well, he used his magic to bring a crippling frost across one of the domains of our land... It was brutal.
Flavia: Goddess above, that sounds terrible. I can assure you, though, that Ferox will treat you much better. For the man of my dreams, I'll make sure you are as comfortable as possible within my home's borders!
