NOTE: Welcome back! I'm here with the next chapter.

If you want the DB cast watching anything abridged related, then go read MythMather258's story which is exactly that. It's very good and a fun read. Making another story where characters react to DB abridged would be repetitive and would make me pull each one of my hairs out. It's also more predictable, because a bunch of people have done it and I hate being too repetitive.

Nobody has really done a fic of characters watching non-parody DB material, so here I am.

DBGT is a part of official DB material, so they will eventually be seeing things from it. OG DB movies are also in that category and I already pointed out games will be shown. Please read these notes, PLEASE.

We are just jumping around the timeline in this story. No order in which they'll be watching things.

Funny moments will happen too, so yes, expect the driving lesson filler.

DB Heroes anime/Manga will be shown. I love SDBH so I plan to get into that pretty soon.

Enjoy and Review!

Chapter 2: An Important Lesson

"So, what exactly are we looking at? Some kind of tournament?" Cheelai asked, unfamiliar with the World Tournaments.

Videl turned to the green alien. "The Tenkaichi Budokai or the Strongest Under the Heavens. A place where martial artists all over the world gather to test their strength against one another. In fact you're looking at someone who was a junior champion of the tournament." Videl couldn't help but brag.

"Only because Gohan didn't participate. If he did you would've lost." Trunks mocked. That was until a knife was thrown dangerously close to his face, scaring the half-breed. The heir gazed back at Videl, who hadn't even turned to face him after throwing the knife.

"Did you pee your pants?" Goten and Marron giggled.

"Shut up!" Trunks hissed.

Lemo looked back at the screen, slightly confused. "If there's a junior division, then why is Goku fighting that old man?"

"That's because when we were younger the tournament didn't have rules like that." Krillin answered. "It didn't matter what your age or gender was, if you practiced martial arts and wished to test your skills then the tournament was the place to go."

Goku nodded his head. "Yeah! It would've been boring if we were just forced to fight a bunch of kids!"

"You were a kid…" Chi-Chi sighed.

"How old were they during this?" 18 asked.

"12 years old." Bulma answered.

"Then why is there a rule separating ages now?" Cheelai asked.

Hercule spoke up this time. "There was no way I was gonna let my little Videl fight a bunch of grown men! She'd get hurt!"

"He's the reason." Yamcha said to Cheelai.

"And I told you I could handle myself, dad!" Videl exclaimed, blushing. "Besides, aren't you considering getting rid of the age rule, now?"

"You are?" Tien asked.

Hercule nodded. "I figured that after everything that's happened, especially after those two dominated the junior division." The champion pointed at Goten and Trunks. "It might be better to avoid another situation like that when it comes to all of you." He then picked up Pan, who squirmed in his grasp, not enjoying the prickly feeling of his beard. "And I want my Pan to show the world just how strong she is!"

"Grandpa Hercule, your beard is itchy!" Pan cried.

Beerus yawned. "If you're all done talking, can we get back to it all now?"

"Yeah, yeah! Hold your horses." Bulma unpaused the viewing.

Jackie Chun stared down the small monkey boy as he walked onto the stage as the tournament Announcer hyped up the crowd.

"Wow, I kinda forgot how small the arena used to be." Oolong said.

"The audience was also much closer to the ring, really making the spectacle of the tournament feel real." Puar added.

Goku tilted his head. "Y'know, I wonder what happened to Jackie Chun. We never saw him again."

"He might've died from old age, Goku." Yamcha sighed.

"If so, I wish we could've fought him again so he could see how strong we are now." Krillin said.

Tien had forgotten that the old turtle students never found out Jackie Chun's real identity, making him wonder if they'll find out through this viewing.

Roshi, however, was slightly fuming. "I ain't dead, dammit! And of course I'm proud of you three!"

"It is now time for the final match in the Tenkaichi Budokai to begin!" The Announcer declared to the roaring audience.

"I won't hold back." Jackie Chun said.

"Me neither!" Goku responded, confidently.

Bulma, Oolong, Puar, Yamcha, Krillin, and the rest of the audience watched with bated breath. Wondering just how the final battle would end.

Marron and 18 eyed the younger Krillin, noticing that he always didn't have a nose. The younger blonde was thankful that she inherited her mother's nose.

"BEGIN!"

"HYAH!" Jackie Chun attacked first, forcing Goku to jump in the air. The old master followed him, striking the monkey in the back. Goku screamed in panic as he descended out of the arena.

"Really?" Vegeta eyed his rival.

"Hehe…jumping probably wasn't my best move." Goku laughed.

"Th-this is bad! He's out of bounds!" Yamcha panicked.

"And he's banned from using the Nimbus!" Krillin cried.

"Using the Nimbus? What happened?" Gohan asked.

"During Goku's first match, there was this guy who used this weird substance to trap him. He tossed Goku out of the ring very easily. Your dad would've lost if he hadn't used the Nimbus to catch himself. The announcer let it go since it was Goku's first tournament and didn't know the rules too well, but if he used it again then he'd be disqualified." Bulma explained.

"That idiot, thinking he was safe just because he dodged my first attack. Letting down one's guard is any fighter's greatest enemy. I didn't expect to win this easily, though. I guess I was worrying too much." Jackie Chun said.

Whis hummed, agreeing with the old man. "Seems this is a lesson that you still struggle with, Son Goku."

"I don't let my guard down that much." Goku defended himself.

"Yes, you do." All of his rivals said.

The Announcer was about to declare Jackie Chun as the winner until the audience started getting wild. Looking up, everyone saw Goku using his tail like a helicopter to keep himself in the air. Jackie Chun was absolutely stunned at the creative solution Goku managed to find.

Vegeta had to resist the urge to face palm. "You have to be the first Saiyan in history to use their tail in such a stupid way."

"Hehe…! Guess, I'm pretty smart, huh Vegeta?" Goku grinned.

"I wouldn't go that far ever."

Gohan hummed at his father's solution. "I'm guessing you didn't know how to fly yet, Dad?"

"Nope, hadn't learned that yet. That's why I used the Nimbus to get around." Goku answered.

"Maybe I should've done something similar." Gohan thought back to his training.

"You lost your tail too early for you to ever reach that conclusion." Piccolo thought. Perhaps if he hadn't torn the boy's tail off that first night, he could've figured that out. But it didn't matter since he was going to teach Gohan how to fly.

"I thought about flying like you did with the Kamehameha, but I decided to save it for later." Goku explained.

"You cocky little punk!" Jackie Chun growled. "There's no way you would be able to do as great a Kamehameha as me!"

"But I can!" Goku yelled.

"What's that!? How dare you underestimate my Kamehameha!" Jackie Chun argued. He adopted the stance to use the legendary technique. "Fine… Maybe you should experience it for yourself. The power of the Kamehameha I've spent years perfecting!"

Goku glared at the old man, also preparing to use the Kamehameha.

"Oh! They're gonna clash!" Goten bounced in his seat.

"Beat that old geezer, Grandpa!" Pan cheered.

"Geezer!?" Roshi choked on his beer.

"KA…!"

"ME…!"

"HA…!"

"ME…!"

"HAAAAAA!"

The two beams clashed together, enveloping the area in a bright flash of blue light. Everyone was forced to turn away to avoid getting blinded by the epic clash of power. Such a clash was unfortunately brief due to both users' inability to withstand the force.

"Aw… it was so short." Pan whined.

Jackie Chun stared at the small boy in shock. "Th…that's impossible…"

"A Kamehameha counter! Hehehehe! I did it!" Goku laughed.

"I… I don't believe this…! He…he canceled out my Kamehameha with his own!" Jackie Chun exclaimed, sweating a bit.

"I never really asked, but when did you learn the Kamehameha, Goku?" Krillin asked.

"Oh, when I saw Master Roshi use it to put out the fire on Ox-King's castle. It was so cool, Krillin! You should've seen it!"

"He did destroy our home though…" Chi-Chi muttered, her father laughing next to her.

"It's fine, Chi-Chi, the fire still would've been going if it wasn't for Master Roshi." Ox-King said.

"True."

"This is exciting! What kind of attack will you do next!?" Goku asked, ready to continue the fight.

"You really aren't cute, you know! Try and say that again after taking this! HAAA!" Jackie Chun vanished, appearing behind Goku.

"That attack again!? You're really a one-pattern fighter, old man!" Goku attempted to telegraph the old master's next move, but ended up missing.

"Too bad for you." Jackie Chun kicked Goku into the ring's wall, causing it to collapse on top of him.

"Wow… I was really weak back then, huh?" Goku noticed. Nowadays something like that wouldn't take him by surprise nor would he underestimate someone else in such a way.

Roshi shook his head. "I wouldn't say weak, Goku. It was more that you were too overconfident in your own abilities. Up to this point you really haven't fought someone who could practically match you blow for blow."

"True." Goku grinned. "I learned a lot from this tournament, Master Roshi!"

The old master grinned. "I'm glad that you did. Maybe, you can still learn more from it."

Goku got up from the rubble with no injuries, shocking the old master again. The little monkey then declared that he was going to copy the after image technique. Doing it perfectly, even managing to trick Jackie Chun and land a surprise attack on him.

"I will give you this, Goku. When it comes to adapting to a situation you are exceptional at it. More than anyone else." Whis complimented Goku.

"Thanks, Whis!"

"How dare you strike the head of your own master!?" Jackie Chun yelled.

"Huh? You aren't my master. Master Roshi is."

Anyone with a brain cell suddenly made a connection at that moment. Bulma especially wanted to slap herself in the face for not realizing it at all after all these years, it was so obvious that she really should've noticed.

"I still don't get why he said that." Goku crossed his arms, confused.

"It's because-OW!" Oolong screamed as a wooden stick smashed him on the head. "What's your deal, old man!?" He yelled at Roshi.

The old master leaned into Oolong's ear. "Keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you, pig! Unless you want to be Lord Beerus' next meal!" The threat made the pig keep his mouth shut.

Suddenly, Jackie Chun began moving around like a drunk, confusing Goku. The monkey boy didn't know what was going on until the old man punched him on the head. "Hey! That hurt!" Goku gripped his head.

"You're in a fight, of course it hurts." Hedo said, confused by Goku's outcry.

Yamcha noticed what was going on first. "That's…"

"Hic…!" Jackie Chun kicked Goku in the chin.

"Goku!" Yamcha called out to his friend. "Don't let him trick you! He's acting drunk and attacking you with the Drunken Fist!"

"Drunken Fist?" Goku repeated. "My dead Grandpa was good at that move! That's pretty dirty to try and do it all of a sudden!"

"Yeah, at least tell me you're going to use it all of a sudden." Goku agreed with his younger self.

"You do realize you're in the middle of a fight, right?" Piccolo asked.

"I mean, yeah, but he was still playing dirty by using that without warning." Goku replied.

Goku tried to attack, but no matter what he did none of his attacks were landing. The drunken master was beating the boy senseless, confident that he had beaten the boy. Until Goku scurried off to the corner of the ring, growling like an animal.

"EEEKKK!" Jackie Chun squealed as Goku charged him like a raging beast. His flinching allowed Goku to flip over and strike him from behind. The old master went flying into the wall like how he did Goku before.

Roshi blushed in humiliation, still hating how Goku managed to trick him like that. Especially, when everyone else was laughing at his reaction to the trick.

"Wh-what was that move just now!?" Jackie Chun asked.

"The Dog Fist!" Goku replied.

"You were nothing but a mad dog just now! There was nothing martial arts-like about it!"

"Reminds me of that time Goten tried biting me when we were younger. We were playing tag and he decided he didn't like getting found so fast." Gohan winced at the memory.

"Weird, I don't remember that at all." Goten scratched his head.

The next few moments of their fight were almost a game of cat and mouse. Goku scurried around Jackie Chun like a monkey, making it difficult for the old man to land a hit. The furry tail wrapped itself around his leg, tripping him up. Goku jumped on the old master's face, scratching him like a monkey would.

"You're moving around like a crazed monkey!"

"Cuz it's the Monkey Fist!"

"Oh, the monkey fist!" Broly added such a technique as something to remember.

"Please, don't try to remember that, Broly." Cheelai shook her head.

"You're really getting full of yourself!" The old master raised his hands in a strange manner. "Now you will lose, rather quickly I might add." Moving his hands in a particular pattern, Jackie Chun started uttering a hypnotic lullaby and put Goku right to sleep.

"HUH!?" Almost everyone exclaimed at the rather easy way Goku went down. That was until loud snoring could be heard in the theater. Looking over, everyone saw that their Goku had also fallen asleep. "HE FELL FOR IT AGAIN!?"

"He's not the only one…" Mai muttered, staring at Shu and Pilaf.

"I agree…" Trunks and Marron were giving the sleeping Goten deadpan stares.

"Put Pan right to sleep too." Videl and Gohan looked down at their daughter.

Vegeta held a sleeping Bulla in his arms. "Stupid technique if you ask me."

Whis giggled, staring at the sleeping God of Destruction. "Lord Beerus will not be pleased."

Jackie Chun turned to the Announcer. "Start the count!"

"But if you really end this with such a pathetic move, the crowd will lose all their excitement."

"You think I care about something like that!? It's his fault for getting caught by such a pathetic move!"

"True." Everyone who was still awake had to agree.

The Announcer began the countdown to the match's end. All of Goku's friends began to panic, shouting at Goku to wake up or else he'd lose. That was when Bulma realized something that would wake Goku up without a doubt. "GOKU! IT'S TIME TO EAT!"

"EH!?"

"EH!?" Goku, Goten, Pan, Bulla, and Beerus all shot up at the same time. "FOOD!?"

"Of course, that woke them all up…" Chi-Chi and Bulma sighed. The two then pointed at the buffet table, causing them all to rush for it.

Goku scurried all over the ring to find the food, much to the delight of his friends, and to the displeasure of Jackie Chun. Goku ran over to the Announcer and asked for food, who answered saying that he would have to finish the match first.

Now re-energized with the prize of food, Goku was ready to finish the match. He rushed in, attacking with his Janken technique, which Jackie Chun blocked. "What!? My Janken isn't working!?"

"Heh, I've already seen that Janken of yours!"

"What!? How do you know about my Janken!? It's the move my Grandpa thought up. In that case…!" Goku rushed in once more. "JANKEN… PAPER!" Switching it up, Jackie Chun was unprepared for the fist to his nose.

Goku looked down at his fist. "Maybe, I should use it again. Nobody ever sees it coming, hehe!"

"Alright! Time to hurry up and finish this so I can go eat some food!"

"Finish my ass! You're not cute at all!" Jackie Chun huffed.

Over to the side, Yamcha and Krillin were assured of Goku's victory. "This is good, Jackie Chun's looking tired!" Yamcha noticed.

"We've got this one!" Krillin agreed.

Jackie Chun seemed to have come to a decision, rolling up his sleeves. "Unfortunately, you will lose this match."

"Eh? Why will I lose? It isn't over yet!" Goku disagreed.

"The move I am about to use now… I have only met one person in my life so far who I was able to use it upon…you are the second. The first was Son Gohan…in other words, your Grandfather." Jackie Chun revealed.

"Man… that really shocked me, huh?" Goku remembered hearing about that.

"Yes, shock is the appropriate word to say at this moment." Krillin said, rolling his eyes at Goku's unintentional pun.

"How come, Dad?" Marron asked.

"You're about to find out, sweetheart." Krillin said. The rest of the original gang also knew what was soon coming up, and they still wondered if Goku knew the truth of the whole thing.

"EH!? G-Grandpa!? You've fought my Grandpa before!?" Goku was more than shocked.

"HUUUNNNN!" Jackie Chun clapped his hands together. Concentrating power into the palms of his hands. Electrical power surged in his palms, shocking everyone at the tournament. "BANKOKU BIKKU RISHOU!"

All Goku could do was stare at the attack as it struck him, levitating him into the air as his body was filled with countless electrical shocks of voltage. "GYAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Even though she knew this was a tournament match and that Goku was just fine, Chi-Chi still covered her ears. She hated hearing him scream in pain, especially after the whole thing with the heart virus.

"GOKU!" His friends cried out his name.

"SAY "I GIVE!" IF YOU DON'T DO IT SOON, YOU WILL DIE!" Jackie Chun warned him.

"NO… I DON'T WANNA! I-I DON'T WANNA LOSE!"

"Just give up!" Chi-Chi hissed. "There's nothing wrong with admitting defeat!"

Goku stared at his wife, a bit surprised at her outburst. But he understood why she was getting upset. He knew he was incredibly stubborn when he wanted to be and at that age he was at his most stubborn. The idea of losing meant admitting that he wasn't strong enough, and he had always been the strongest of his friends back then.

But there are limits and Goku knows that now.

His friends were all agreeing with Jackie Chun. "E-enough already, Goku!" Yamcha cried.

"Just give up! You did enough!" Krillin shouted.

Goku didn't want to, but he knew there was nothing he could do. "I…really…don't…wanna…but…!"

"Wow…you were really gonna give up, Dad?" Goten asked.

"Yup!" Goku wasn't ashamed to admit it. "I was completely trapped with no way to counter his technique. The only thing I could do was give up…but something happened." He didn't notice how some of his friends tensed up.

"Something happened?" Lemo asked.

"Yeah, I kind of blacked out here and woke up butt naked."

"The hell happened?" Everyone who didn't know asked.

"G-Good…you did well making it this far! Son Gohan couldn't withstand this much…!" Jackie Chun complimented him.

Goku opened his eyes. "I…GI-"

He saw the full moon.

BA-DUM!

Vegeta's eyes widened when he realized just what was about to happen. "You have got to be kidding me."

With his heart beating loudly, Goku's body began transforming into that of a Great Ape. Everyone at the tournament was horrified by the monstrous transformation, with only Goku's friends understanding what was happening.

The Pilaf gang trembled at the sight, with only Mai being brave enough to stare at the large monkey.

"A MONKEY!?" Hercule's eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. He remembered hearing the tall tales of a boy turning into a monkey at one of the old tournaments, but he never thought that it would be Goku. He had dismissed it all as one tall tale back then.

Cheelai noticed the way Broly was staring at the full moon. "Broly? Are you okay?"

The large Saiyan felt her touch and snapped out of it. "H-huh? Y-yes, I'm fine." He answered.

"Oh yeah! I forgot we could do that!" Goten exclaimed.

"We can't, Goten. We don't have tails, remember?" Trunks reminded him.

"I know that, but still, we haven't seen it before." Goten responded.

"So, when your Dad said that he blacked out…" Marron realized what it all meant. "He was talking about this!"

Hedo was a bit excited. "It's like one of the Tokusatsu anime where someone will grow into a giant monster for the hero to beat!"

Piccolo was reminded of when Gohan transformed during that first night of training. "I'm still not used to this transformation."

"I'm guessing this has happened to me before?" Gohan turned to his teacher, surprising him. "Back when I first lost my tail, you must've ripped it off, right Piccolo?"

"You guessed it." Piccolo responded.

Beerus yawnked. "Oh right, Saiyans could do that."

"It's no good to be forgetful, Lord Beerus." Whis reminded him.

"Shut up, Whis!"

Bulma, and the rest of the gang nervously turned to Goku to see how he was taking the news. After having kept the secret from him for so long and the truth about his grandfather's death. When they saw how nonchalaunt Goku was about the whole thing, they fell over comically. "GOKU!"

"Huh?" He turned to them.

"W-why aren't you shocked!?" Bulma asked. "Y-you just turned into a giant ape!"

"Yeah, I know. I realized that a long time ago." Goku revealed, shocking them.

"W-what…?" Yamcha muttered.

"Back when I fought Vegeta he transformed into a Great Ape, that's when I realized it." Goku answered.

Thinking about it now, Krillin realized that it should've been obvious that Goku figured it all out back then. "S-so you know that-"

"That I killed Grandpa? Yeah, it's fine though. We talked about it for a while back when I was dead after the Cell Games." Goku explained.

"Are you mad at us?" Bulma asked.

"Nah!" Goku grinned. "I understood why you guys kept it from me, but I would've liked to have known at some point."

They couldn't disagree with him there, finding out about it while fighting Vegeta was NOT the best way to realize you killed your own grandpa.

"O-OH NO! THE MOON CAME OUT!" Yamcha panicked. Krillin was confused by his best friend's transformation. Bulma and the others stared in fear, remembering the rampage Goku committed back at Pilaf's castle.

The giant ape broke out of Jackie Chun's technique with ease, terrifying him. "My Bankoku bikku rishou was dissipated!?"

Roaring with his chest, Goku began destroying the tournament grounds like a rampaging beast.

"Why are you wrecking everything, Grandpa!?" Pan asked, shocked.

Gohan patted his daughter's head. "Your Grandpa just didn't have control over that form of his, Pan. He's not doing it by choice."

"Oh, but what'll happen to Grandpa?"

"We'll just have to watch and see."

"UWAH! T-this is dangerous! But as the Announcer, I cannot flee!"

"I-I'm the one in the greatest danger here! I-If I run out of bounds, I'll lose!"

Videl pinched the bridge of her nose. "I think you both have more important things to worry about. Like staying alive for example!"

Krillin ran up to the rampaging Goku. "Goku, turn back to normal! T-that technique is too dangerous!" He was almost crushed by a large piece of rubble.

"It's no use, Krillin! Goku's out of control in that state! That isn't a technique either! He turns into a monster whenever he looks at the full moon!" Yamcha informed them.

"It's a good thing that we used to go to bed early when Gohan still had his tail. Otherwise, he would've turned into that." Chi-Chi said.

Goku thought about it and he honestly wasn't sure what he would've done if Gohan had transformed into a Great Ape. He's certain that he eventually would've figured out to cut off the tail…but if he didn't…

Jackie Chun realized what he needed to do. "Which means there's only one way to solve this problem!" The martial arts master quickly avoided getting stepped on. "I've got no choice!" Taking off his top, the old man prepared to attack. His body bulging and muscle mass increased. "KAMEHAMEHA FULL POWER!"

"Woah! Just like Master Roshi!" Goku grinned.

"H-He's gonna kill Goku! Wait, just go for his tail!" Yamcha tried to stop Jackie Chun but he was too late.

"KAMEHAMEHAAAAAA!" The massive beam rocketed towards Goku, covering the entire city in its bright glow. When the dust settled there was no longer any giant monkey.

"There was nothing else I could do…" Jackie Chun said.

Tien leaned over to Roshi. "Why did you have to say that as if you killed him!?"

"I didn't think they'd hear me!"

Krillin started crying out, thinking that his best friend was dead. "You murderer! Give us back Goku!"

"He's not dead." 18 said.

"I know that now!" Krillin huffed.

Jackie Chun pointed over to the side. "He's not dead. Look closely." Everyone looked to the ring floor and saw a passed out naked Goku.

Quickly Pan's and Bulla's eyes were covered to avoid looking at the naked Goku. Marron covered her own eyes, so that she wouldn't see it either.

"The thing I destroyed with that Kamehameha wasn't Goku. It was the moon!" Everyone looked up and realized that the moon was now missing. "Now Goku will never transform into a monster after looking at the full moon again."

"Well…that's one creative solution, I guess." Dende said.

"Kami wasn't happy about it at first if you wanted to know." Piccolo informed the younger Namekian.

"So, it was the old man who got rid of the moon!" Vegeta exclaimed.

"No, that was me." Piccolo revealed.

"What!?"

"Kami restored the moon after starting Goku's training. I destroyed the moon to insure that you and Nappa couldn't use it to transform. Seems it didn't really matter in the end." Piccolo explained.

People started complaining about the tides and holidays that would be changed without the moon. Jackie Chun didn't care and told the Announcer to start the countdown, but Goku woke up. With Goku now back to normal and awake, they were about to start the match back up until everyone realized Goku was butt naked.

"I'm happy that you stopped walking about completely naked. It took forever to convince you to wear swim trunks whenever you wanted to go fishing." Chi-Chi said. Goku just laughed at the memory of spooking Chi-Chi early in their marriage whenever he'd enter the house completely nude.

After switching clothes with Krillin, Goku walked back into the ring. "Why is the place wrecked like this? It's like a typhoon came though."

"I'm shocked you just didn't remember that." Cheelai said.

"It takes training for a Saiyan to gain control over their Great Ape form." Vegeta explains. "Young ones are especially wild with them, which is why Kakarot doesn't remember transforming."

"Oh…I didn't actually expect an answer but thanks." Cheelai responded.

Goku was pretty hungry, which left him wide open. "You're wide open! Time to finish off with a Kamehameha!"

POOF!

Jackie Chun had no gas left in the tank for another one. "D-dammit… I really am out of energy…"

Goku realized something upon hearing this. "He can't use the Kamehameha anymore! Which means that he can't fly anymore either! ALRIGHT! I'VE WON!"

Goku fired his own Kamehameha, forcing the old man to jump into the air. Leaving him open for Goku to kick him out of the ring. From everyone's point of view it truly looked as if Jackie Chun had landed out of bounds, Goku's friend's celebrating his victory. However, the old man had stuck his foot into the ring's side to prevent a ring out.

"You're really persistent, Master." Turtle whispered.

"I had to be. There was no way I could lose to those kids like that." Roshi responded.

"You're one tenacious old man." Goku said.

"I'm not gonna lose to some kid…!" Jackie Chun huffed, getting back into the ring. "That last Kamehameha of yours had no power behind it, though. Seems like your empty stomach and fatigue has really drained your energy."

Goku agreed. "True, I never fight good on an empty stomach."

"True martial artists should really clash with their bodies alone. The stronger one will win in the end… It's as simple as that."

"Yeah! I definitely won't lose!" Goku exclaimed.

"This is it…" Yamcha said.

"The ending to this fight!" Krillin agreed.

"HERE I COME!" Jackie Chun charged in.

"TAAAAHHHHH!" Goku charged him as well.

Both fighters jumped into the air, extending their legs out for one final kick. Unfortunately for Goku his legs were too short, Jackie Chun's foot struck home. The two fell back down to the arena floor. The Announcer began the countdown to see if it would be a double K.O. Neither managed to get up, thus, the Announder decided that whoever gets up with a smile on their face and says they won will win.

"Really? It was that simple?" Videl was on the edge of her seat the entire time. To see one of the old Tenkaichi Budokais like this was a dream come true for her, but she kinda felt that this added rule felt a bit silly. "I guess, they can't just not have a winner."

The first one to struggle to their feet was Goku, who gave a wide smile. "Yep… I…wo…" His body gave out before he could finish, and the boy dropped back to the floor.

"So close!" Goten groaned.

Jackie Chun stood up and with a happy grin, he declared. "YEP, I WON!"

"THE WINNER IS THE CHALLENGER JACKIE CHUN!"

"The reason I won was the length of my legs… since my legs are much longer than yours, the kick struck deeper. But you did immensely well… you're the first person to ever make Master Roshi go this far…"

"EHHHH!?" Goku, Yamcha, and Krillin gasped.

Roshi groaned. "Welp, the secret is out."

"Y-you're really Jackie Chun, Master Roshi!?" Goku turned to the old man.

"Yes, I am…" Roshi answered.

"I knew I was right!" Yamcha exclaimed proudly.

"But why, Master?" Krillin asked.

Roshi sighed, leaning onto his cane. "I thought that if you two were to go into this tournament and win, then it would go to your heads. You'd forget the lessons that I had taught you, that you'd grow lazy, and get overconfident. As a master I didn't want to see the potential of yours go to waste, I've seen much of that in my lifetime and didn't want to see it anymore. By losing the tournament the two of you would become much more driven to improve yourselves."

"I wanted you to know that the world is much more vast than you could imagine and that there is always someone stronger than you."

Goku's eyes widened, realizing just how important that fight between him and Jackie Chun was. There was no way he ever would've stopped training had he won, but his drive to improve himself wouldn't be anywhere as strong. The idea of there always being someone stronger has constantly pushed him to new heights, because whenever you least expect it someone stronger always arrives.

When he thought that Majin Buu was the pinnacle of power in the universe, Lord Beerus had arrived and shook his whole world. That lesson had been thrown back at him in a much different way, and he couldn't have been happier.

He wouldn't be the person he is today if it wasn't for that lesson.

Smiling with his widest smile, Goku looked at his old teacher. "Thanks for everything, Master Roshi!"

The old man found himself lost in that bright smile of Goku's once again. "No problem, Goku."

Chapter End

NOTE: I love OG Dragon Ball so much. I recommend that everyone goes back and re-read it, because it's such a fun story.

I do plan to expand a bit more on Goku's thoughts at the end of this chapter when we get to Goku vs Beerus (Movie version), I love Battle of Gods and the message told in that movie.

Next Chapter - Goku meets Yajirobe and gets his shit stomped by King Piccolo

I hope you all enjoyed and have a great day!
