Nah: Stop where you are, Link!
Link: ...Nah?... What's wrong?
Nah: Now that I've finally got you cornered, it's time for the truth to be revealed. You'll spill all your secrets here today, and don't even think about trying to lie your way out of this. Manaketes can smell dishonesty!
Link: ...What are you talking about? What secrets?
Nah: You think you're better than us, don't you?
Link: ...Huh?
Nah: That's why you keep to yourself, isn't it? Back in your world, you're a hero. You must have a giant ego, and that's why you're so quiet. The Shepherds aren't worth your time.
Link: *sigh*... You're making a crazy assumption based on very little evidence.
Nah: Then you refute my claim?
Link: Yes, I refute it...
Nah: Well, what's with you, then?! When I heard about your heroic pedigree, I pictured someone confident, and charismatic, and uplifting. But you're not that kind of person at all... You hardly ever talk to other people, and when you do, you speak so softly that it's hard to hear you. If you don't hate us then why are you so quiet, hmm?
Link: ...I speak when I have something to say.
Nah: ...That's it?
Link: Mmhmm, that's just how I am... I spoke even less back when I traveled Hyrule... Opening up to others is something I'm still learning, I guess.
Nah: So you don't hate us?
Link: It's the opposite, Nah. The Shepherds are family to me now... I've been risking my life in this war for quite some time, after all. I thought it was obvious that I care for you all.
Nah: ...So... I was wrong about you, then.
Link: Just a word of advice... Asking someone "why are you so quiet?" isn't very polite, in my opinion... Wouldn't it be rude to ask someone why they're so loud and will never shut up?
Nah: Th-That's true... I'm sorry, Link. I take back everything mean I said.
Link: It's all good... I get that question pretty often, so it doesn't bother me much anymore... Next time, though, I'd try a more peaceful approach before resorting to accusations.
Nah: Drat... I care so much about trying to act my age, and then I go and do this. I guess I'm not as mature as I like to think I am.
Link: Don't get down on yourself. It was just a misunderstanding... And, hey... Now it's clear that we don't know each other very well... If you'd like to hear me talk for a change, why don't we get some lunch together, and we can introduce ourselves?
Nah: Oh, okay! Not only do you look strange, you act strange, too. I bet you might be a pretty interesting person!

Nah: Um, Link? What are you doing?
Link: ...Playing hide-and-seek ... I'm the seeker.
Nah: Playing with who?
Link: Just a group of kids hanging around the market. They're here buying ingredients for their parents.
Nah: Okay, but... why?
Link: ...So they can cook dinner tonight?
Nah: No, I mean, why are you wasting your time with this? Shouldn't you be looking for weapons, and vulneraries, and stuff while we're out shopping?
Link: I'm okay. I've got all the supplies I need already on me.
Nah: Fine, but still... playing hide-and-seek with a bunch of brats? You're supposed to be a fearsome warrior, Link. Don't you care about your reputation at all? Everyone's gonna think you're some man-child if you keep this up.
Link: No worries. Strangers can talk all they want... Doesn't make a difference to me... And I'm pretty good with kids, y'know? They seem drawn to my green outfit.
Nah: You really don't mind? I mean, you're an adult. Aren't you supposed to be too old for this kind of stuff?
Link: According to some people, maybe... but, again, I don't care about what they think. Playing along is just another way I can bring smiles to the younger generation... Don't forget that these kids are living through a period of war, right now... Providing them with some positive memories isn't a waste of time at all.
Nah: That's... an outlook I hadn't considered, and a really noble one at that... Hee hee! You're actually a big softie underneath all that stoicism, aren't you?
Link: Hey... Why don't you play too? You can help me find these little scamps.
Nah: No, Link. I told you; I'm trying to act my age.
Link: Aww... Too bad... I wanted you to join in, especially...
Nah: Me?... H-Hey, don't me give those sad, puppy-dog eyes! I'm gonna get sad... *sigh* Is this pointless game really that fun for you?
Link: Sure is... Hide-and-seek is a classic. No matter how old you get, it'll always be one of the best.
Nah: I can't believe you're getting excited over something so childish, but... fine, I'll help you. Your enthusiasm makes it impossible to say no.
Link: Nice! Thanks, Nah.
Nah: Wow. I've never seen your face light up like that before! You've got a really nice smile, too.
Link: ...Playing games like this brings me back to simpler times, I think... Back to when I lived in the forest and had no responsibilities.
Nah: I can't really relate... I never got to experience those simpler times because the world was already falling apart around me from the moment I was born... My parents were gone before I could meet them... A chaotic world of despair was all I knew until coming to this timeline, so I understand your reaction, but... I've always had heavy burdens on my shoulders.
Link: That's why this'll be good for you.
Nah: ...What? Hide-and-seek?
Link: Yeah. You're always trying so hard to keep up this mature image, but I think that's the wrong way to go about it... Everyone knows about your child-like side, Nah. It's no secret, so you shouldn't be afraid to let it out more often... Have some fun. Let your guard down.
Nah: But... I want everyone to take me seriously. They won't do that if I goof around all the time.
Link: Be like my best friend from the forest I grew up in... Despite living alongside a bunch of spirited rascals, she had a calm and loving personality that always earned our respect... When it came time for fun and games, though, she never shied away... You can strike that balance between responsibility and leisure if you try.
Nah: ...You think that'll work?
Link: If anyone gives you a hard time, don't forget that you're a dragon... You can just transform and show them why they need to take you seriously.
Nah: Haha! Hey, you're right! No one can talk down to me when I'm three times their size!
Link: All right, let's get going. We've got some youngsters to catch, and if you're not quick about it, I'll find more of them than you!
Nah: What?! Get back here! I am so gonna beat you!

Link: Phew... That's enough practice for now...
Nah: Great work, Link! Your sword swinging is looking more formidable than ever. Here! Have some water.
Link: ...Oh... Thanks.
Nah: It's almost time for dinner. Can I sit with you again? I think I should so that I can scare Vaike away if he tries to fight you while you're eating. He's always interrupting our time together, that big pest...
Link: Nah... You've been following me around lately... Like... a lot... You sure you don't wanna sit with your parents or your friends once in a while?
Nah: I like spending time with them too! But now that I've got you all to myself, I have to make the most of our-
Link: Wait, what do you mean?... You have me all to yourself?
Nah: Th-That's not what I meant to say! I... I mean-
Link: Now that I'm thinking on it... It almost feels like the rest of the Shepherds have been avoiding me... Nah, you just told me that you scare Vaike away. Is that what you do to everyone else?
Nah: …
Link: Please tell the truth, Nah... This involves me, so I deserve to know.
Nah: ...Okay, yes... I've been chasing people away from you... I tell them that I'm your doting apprentice and that we're going to get married one day. Then I threaten to eat them if they get in the way of our alone time...
Link: Wh-What the heck?... First of all, no more threats, got it?
Nah: Yes, sir...
Link: And you never told me anything about marriage and apprentices...
Nah: That was just a lie!... I mean, I would like being your apprentice, but I only said that stuff so people would leave us alone.
Link: I see... and what do you want from me, then? My attention?
Nah: I need to sate my curiosity!
Link: ...A-About me?
Nah: Yes! You're so weird! First, I thought you were some stuck-up jerk, but you're really just shy and quiet. Then, I figured you must be this no-nonsense hero who only speaks when he has to and never messes around, only to learn that you're a big dork who likes playing kid games, and wearing goofy masks, and dozing off in the middle of nowhere. You're full of surprises, and that makes me want to figure you out!
Link: ...Hmm... Well... Okay, I guess... I feel like I'm not actually all that interesting, but everyone I meet here seems to think otherwise...
Nah: They're right! Like, what even are you anyway? You have ears like me, but you're not a manakete, and you aren't human either. Naga sent you here, so are you some herald of the gods? If you are, I bet you're not allowed to tell us, though, huh? That's definitely some top secret info.
Link: I'm Hylian... but also the reincarnation of the goddess' hero...
Nah: So you are weird.
Link: ...Hah... Sure, I suppose I am.
Nah: Do you want me to go away, then? After lying to everyone about us, that would be justified...
Link: You can't pull any more stunts like that, but I still want to be your friend, Nah... I like having my doting, dragon apprentice around, y'know?
Nah: Oh, thank you, Link! This is great! There's still so much I need to learn about you!

Link: ...Nah... Are piggyback rides necessary?
Nah: What's wrong? Do you not like this? I'm pretty petite, so you can't be that exhausted.
Link: ...I feel like the others might get the wrong idea, is all...
Nah: You're afraid of looking like a big goofball? I thought you didn't care about that?
Link: My concern is that we might come across as... a couple, or something...
Nah: Would that be so bad?
Link: ...If we aren't actually a couple, then yes.
Nah: Oh, all right... I'll get down. Since we need to maintain a formal relationship, it's best we don't get too chummy. Isn't that right, Master?
Link: I told you to stop calling me that...
Nah: But if I'm your apprentice, what else would I call you, Master?
Link: I... I don't know... *sigh* You really enjoy seeing me squirm, don't you?
Nah: Okay, if "Master" isn't your style, how about "Husband"?
Link: ...What? I thought the marriage talk was just a lie to shoe people away?
Nah: Oh, it was. But I'd be more than happy to try it for real! As your official apprentice, I understand your wants and needs better than anyone, Master. You won't find a better wife than me!
Link: S-Stop talking like that... When I told you to let your guard down more, this is not what I had in mind...
Nah: Oh my... Is this what love feels like? I asked mother about it, and she said, "Love is when your heart feels like it's about to balloon and blow up in a big boom of beautiful butterflies!" I'd say that's exactly what I'm feeling!
Link: ...That's not what's going on here... and you can't call me "Husband."
Nah: Tch... How about I call you "Fairy Boy", then? That's pretty cute, right?
Link: No, that's embarrassing... How would you like it if I called you "Dragon Girl"?
Nah: Aw, that'd be adorable, Master! We'd have pet names for each other! It's one step on our way to the perfect romance.
Link: ...Forget it... No nicknames...
Nah: Hmm, suit yourself. Pet names are a no-go, but I'd settle for just marrying you. That's what really matters.
Link: ...Are you being serious about this?... I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not...
Nah: It seems I need to initiate an all-out offensive... Yes, Link! I like you! I want to be your loving, dragon bride, and I'll promise to never desert you!
Link: But... you're still so young, and-
Nah: I may look young, but I'm almost as old as you in human years. Is it my appearance? Does it disgust you?
Link: N-No, you don't disgust me... It's just... A relationship is a big change, and... I don't know if I'm ready for-
Nah: Stop running from yourself, Master! I can smell your innermost feelings, and I know we share the same passion. You can admit it to me. I won't turn you away.
Link: ...What do you mean you "smell" it?
Nah: Don't you remember? Manaketes can smell people's intentions. I can tell when you're lying, and I can even tell that you have feelings for me!
Link: ...Well... Crap... That's kinda scary...
Nah: You're still going to reject me, huh? Oh, poor Nah... She manages to find her one, true love, but the happily-ever-after still slips from her fingers...
Link: C'mon, I'm not rejecting you, okay?... Enough with the lizalfos tears.
Nah: *gasp* Then we can start planning our wedding?!
Link: No! We can start with... dating...
Nah: Well, I guess that's good enough... for now. This means I get hugs and piggyback rides as often as I want, yes? You don't need to worry about giving others the "wrong idea" anymore.
Link: ...Yeah, yeah, climb on up... I need to get back to my tent, lay down, and sleep this headache off...
Nah: You've got it, Fairy Boy. I'll hold you close and sing a tranquil lullaby. With my help, you'll get the most incredible rest!
Link: Pfft... Thank you, Dragon Girl... You know how to make me feel loved, I'll give you that.
A/N:
I think Nah is hilarious, and her supports with Brady and Gerome are some of my favorites in the entire game. I couldn't help but emulate those a bit.
With this, all the children units have been covered. I know some readers were excited for these chapters in particular, so I hope I was able to meet those expectations. Now, only the six DLC characters remain. Still not sure if I'm going to do one for Yen'fay, though...
