Owain

Link: Yikes... This Master Sword isn't looking too great...

Owain: Sorry you have to see it in this state, Dad. After you fell in battle, this was the only thing we managed to recover... "The blade of evil's bane"... but it's been decayed from Grima's power.

Link: I'm just glad that it's not completely destroyed... Maybe we can find some way to repair it.

Owain: Even if it's impossible, I'll treasure it always. My father, The Hero of Time, left me his most trusted blade. I couldn't be more honored to wield it today for the future of... Grah! Nnnnghhh!

Link: ...Owain, you okay?... Is this another "sword hand" episode of yours, or-

Owain: I... can feel... the power!

Link: ...And here we go...

Owain: Pure, unbridled energy courses through my veins! The blood of both the exalted royal family and of Hylia's chosen hero... It is almost too much to bear!... Rrrrgh... I must find a random civilian in need and cure their troubles. If my side quest quota is not met, the results could be disastrous!

Link: Hey... if you wanna help someone out so bad, help me. I need someone to spar with... Show your dad what kinda special moves you've been working on, yeah?

Owain: *gasp*... Yes! A mission given to me by Father! Completing this is a sure-fire method for suppressing my evil side... Dark Owain...

Link: I don't mind you goofing around, but... make sure your mother doesn't see you... You know how she gets when you scream like that.

Owain: Oh, gods! Where is she? Was she watching that?... Quick, we need to focus! Uh... Special moves! Yes, we need to practice the Father-Son Spin Attack! It will be our magnum opus!

Inigo

Inigo: Ah, Father! Just the man I wanted to see!

Link: ...Need something, Inigo?

Inigo: I'm looking for advice, actually. I have this date with a lovely girl coming up, you see.

Link *sigh* Typical... Makes me wonder where you picked up this habit... I was never the type to pursue love, and Olivia's the same... We're both too shy for that.

Inigo: Speaking of Mother, she's the one I need to ask you about! How did you win her affections, Father? What was the ace in your sleeve that had her clamoring for you?

Link: We just played the Ocarina together a bunch... Bonded through music and teaching... The Sun's Song probably impressed her, too. It's not every day you meet someone who can cause the sun to set on command... Anyway, performing is a great way to draw people in, I think.

Inigo: But... I can't play an instrument... What kind of performance am I even capable of? Just dancing?

Link: Yes... Literally do that, Inigo... Dance for her... I bet you're too embarrassed to say anything, though. Do I need to intervene and leak the info to this girl?

Inigo: N-No! No way, no how! Father, you had better stay far, far away! Do not crash my date! If you tell her anything of my hidden passion, I will never forgive you! Do you hear me?!

Link: You're really gonna keep it a secret? Tch... That won't do... You're my son... As your parent, I'm supposed to set you up for success, and that's exactly what I'll do... even if you hate me for it.

Inigo: F-Father, no! She cannot know about this! You will ruin everything! Don't do this to meee!

Brady

Brady: Hey, Pops. Got a question for ya.

Link: ...Yes, Brady?

Brady: Why the hell do I talk like this?

Link: ...What do you mean?

Brady: Like... Like a thug! Or a "delinquent" as Ma so kindly puts it.

Link: You don't know why you talk that way?

Brady: Nah, I don't. Never really thought about it 'til jus' now.

Link: I mean... If you don't, I'm not sure how I would.

Brady: Ma grew up all proper-like. She was taught how to talk like the high-society cats do. Goes without sayin' that she ain't responsible, but what about you, Pops? You lived in a forest, yeah? That's basically like growin' up in the boonies. Any of them Kokiri use to talk like me?

Link: ...No, we didn't sound anything like you.

Brady: Tch... Well, what the hell? I ain't got a damn clue where I picked up this uncultured way a' speakin'.

Link: Why worry about it? It's a unique part of who you are... I find it to be...interesting and endearing.

Brady: Y-Ya think so?

Link: I do... It was worse when I was younger, but I've always had trouble speaking up... I worry about what to say and how to say it... I don't want you to deal with those doubts either, Brady... Mom might give you a hard time, but we both love everything about you, strange speech and all.

Brady: Aw, shucks... Thanks, old man. Ya really know how to pull me outta the dumps when I'm feelin' low.

Kjelle

Link: You wanna learn how to ride on horseback?

Kjelle: That's right, Father, and I want you to teach me.

Link: Would that skill benefit you? You excel in heavy armor and fighting on the front lines, so this seems like an odd decision... There are great knights, sure... but I don't know if that's a good fit for you.

Kjelle: I realize that it's a waste of time... Even if I knew how, I'd still probably fight my battles on foot, but... I want to learn!

Link: ...Can I ask why?

Kjelle: Because when I was younger, Mother shut me down... Said that I wasn't cut out for it...

Link: In battle, you should always be fighting at your best... Encouraging you to pursue a skill that you failed to show promise in could be dangerous... She was probably worried about you.

Kjelle: I know that! But you always made riding look so... gallant... Before I lost my dad, he told me that he'd teach me, even if it was just for fun... Even if I was no good at it... You shared stories of your loyal steed "Epona" and how she helped you save Hyrule... Maybe I'd enjoy having a companion like that.

Link: Mmm, I get it now... Sorry for almost turning you down. I know that I'm not your true father, but I need to be better than this. It's just... this parenthood thing is so... new and crazy... I suppose I'm still figuring out how to best support my child.

Kjelle: You're not turning me down, then?

Link: No, not anymore... I realized that this isn't just some fleeting curiosity. You've wanted this for a long time, and it wouldn't be right to deny you this chance... So c'mon, let's find you a horse and get started.

Kjelle: Heh... Thank you, Dad. I'm sure I'll remember these lessons for the rest of my life.

Severa

Link: Severa?... You in here?... We've got dinner ready in the mess tent... Are you-

Severa: ...*sob*... *sniffle*...

Link: H-Hey, what's wrong?! You're not hurt, are you?

Severa: D-Daddy?! Why are in my tent?

Link: Severa, what's the matter?... I know you don't like to share your troubles with me, but... I'd feel much better if you did... You can confide in me.

Severa: It's nothing! Just... Just my regularly scheduled time for self-loathing...

Link: Why would you be-

Severa: I feel like crap, Dad! I always do! I have Ms. Perfect for a mother, and the Hero of Time for a father? How could I ever live up to you guys?! I'm constantly stuck in your shadow... A disappointment... That's all I am...

Link: Quit talking like that... I've heard enough.

Severa: You wanted to know how I felt? Well, this is the ugly truth that you wanted so- H-Hey! Why are you hugging me?!

Link: You're perfect the way you are, Severa.

Severa: I am not!

Link: ...Are too.

Severa: Am not!

Link: Are too!

Severa: Rrgh... You are so annoying... Would you let go of me already?!

Link: Nope... Not until you realize how amazing you are... You're my daughter, Severa. You're not a disappointment, and you never will be... You know that I love you, right?

Severa: Gawds! You're so embarrassing, Dad! *sniff*... All right, I'll stop beating myself up, okay?... and yeah, I know... *sigh* I love you too, Daddy.

Cynthia

Cynthia: *gasp* That's it! Father, that's the one!

Link: ...Huh? What's "the one"?

Cynthia: The song you just played! When I was growing up, you used to play it for me when I had trouble sleeping. It's been so long, I'd forgotten all about it!

Link: Oh, really?... It's called "The Ballad of the Goddess"... I was told that it originates from an ancient time in Hyrule's history, and has been passed down through the royal family for centuries.

Cynthia: Wow! So much history! Just imagine how many people must have heard this song in the past. Now, you get to keep spreading it to new ears!

Link: ...If you want... I could teach it to you... The ocarina's pretty easy to learn.

Cynthia: Thanks for offering, Father, but... I don't wanna cramp your style, you know? Playing cute songs on the ocarina is your thing. If I'm gonna learn this ballad, I need to do it my way.

Link: ...You mean, you wanna learn it yourself?... Or play it on a different instrument?

Cynthia: That's right! Yes to both. Maybe I can pick up the harp or the flute... Oh! And maybe I can learn my own heroic songs that do crazy stuff, too! If you can summon rain clouds, then I bet I could... change the direction of the wind! I could point it any way I want, and then my pegasus and I will have true dominion over the sky! That'd be a handy power, wouldn't it?

Link: ...Command of the wind, huh?... Seems a little far-fetched, but... You are my daughter... A true descendant of the hero's lineage... Legendary artifacts have a habit of finding me, so... who knows?

A/N:

I couldn't see myself thinking up enough material to write full C through A supports for each character. So I hope these mini supports are enjoyable enough! This is an idea that I was excited to try for a long time now. The other child units will be in the next one.

As mentioned above, none of these are "canon" for this fic, so to speak. I honestly have no idea how this would work in regards to the plot. (Outrealm time travel/Link being present in the apocalyptic timeline/etc) Maybe it makes sense, maybe it doesn't, I don't know, and I'm not gonna bother thinking about it.
