Weeks have passed ever since Amelina's first night sleeping with her father, and she had been doing so since then.

Even though Amelina was still traumatised by her nightmare, she decided to suck it up ever since she bawled into Eduan's chest like a baby she is.

' I can't believe I show my tears to him!', was what Amelina thought, feeling as if her pride was utterly crushed. But truly, every other night when she couldn't sleep or having the nightmare, Eduan's figure beside her became her source of comfort.

Even if she knew it might not be for long.

But Amelina also had other things to worry about, such as learning how to walk and speak. She figured that those were the basic skills she needed to learn if she wanted to survive.

And what she had accomplished by now was a wobbly walk around her room without Eira's and Miru's help (Eduan 'helped' by zapping her while she's walking) and also babblings of understandable words.

'I can understand what the adults are talking about, but it's actually hard to pronounce it on my own.'

So instead of lulling over the fact of her bad pronounces, Amelina tried other ways to soften her tongue, which is humming.

Amelina had always liked it when Eira sang to her lullabies which originate from the maid's hometown. This led to Amelina copying Eira's lullabies especially when she was alone.

"My wives are complaining."

"Pardon, sir?", Miru sceptically responded, on a sunny morning during Amelina's 'playtime' with Eduan.

"They said I've been spending less time with them, if you know what I mean."

"Ahh.."

'Well, that's because you're spending too much time with me, stupid.', Amelina remarked inwardly, as she played around with Eduan's long hair on the man's lap.

"Perhaps you should arrange some time for them? At night especially...", Miru himself was at loss on what he was talking about as he looked away.

In truth, the retainer was especially delighted when Eduan actually cared about Amelina and spent most of his time with the toddler. But of course, he knew Eduan's wives won't be happy. They might feel as if they've lost in the family's political order.

Miru worriedly glanced at Amelina before responding his thoughts on the matter.

"I think it would be better if you spend some time with them. I believe if your wives were to know about the young missus existence and worth, they might try to eliminate her."

Amelina flinched, quickly turning her gaze to Eduan.

'Does that mean that I might die if Eduan continue to ignore his wives?', Amelina pondered, definitely terrified at the thought.

"True."

'And you're not going deny it?!'

Eduan picked Amelina up, staring at her small form before sighing.

"I guess I will take on your suggestions, Han Miru. But I'm not confident to leave this kid alone in the nights.", Eduan looked at Miru, who tilts his head in question.

'Right, Miru didn't know why I started to sleep with Eduan.'

"I'm sure the young miss will be fine, sir!"

"Hmmmm... Fine."

'...nice one, Miru.'

It has been a while since Amelina got to sleep alone, and she was very sure to appreciate this kind of privacy that only comes once in a blue moon.

But after Eira had tucked her in that night, Amelina was unable to sleep. She kept turning around on the large bed (since her cradle were taken away after she started to sleep with Eduan) and finally, the toddler gave up on trying to sleep and decided to stare out the window in the meantime.

'It feels weird without that man by my side when I'm asleep. What do I do when I have that nightmare again?'

Instinctively, Amelina started to hum a lullaby that she heard Eira once sang when the maid was cleaning around the room.

Only when Amelina was alone she can see around her clearly, taking in the serene surroundings.

'I need to be stronger. I can't just stay in this place forever.'

"You sure are singing well for a kid."

As Amelina turned to the source of the voice, she was met by a stunningly tall lady, who was eyeing her suspiciously.

'I didn't even notice her coming in. Wait a minute...'

Blue hair and eyes? Check.

Extravagantly beautiful? Check.

Seemingly arrogant? Check.

With an aura of overconfidence? Check.

'I've never got the chance to meet any of them yet, but... I'm sure this pretty lady is one of my half-siblings. She got the same vibes as Eduan.'

For any normal children, being stared down coldly with a menacing glare, they might have already cried. But for Amelina who have been through worse, she kept staring back straight into another pair of blue eyes without any hint of fear.

'You've got to do better than that, lady.'

"Oh? You're one interesting kid.", the woman smirked. "Why are you in this room anyway?"

'I don't know either.'

"Who?", Amelina tilted her head slightly, with the intent of acting all innocent.

"I guess you've never heard of me before. I'm Khun Maschenny Jahad, one of Jahad's princesses.

'Jahad's princesses? What the heck is that?'

"Tell me, kid. Who are you and why are you in this room?"

'I should be careful with her. She already sounds like a hassle.'

"My nyame ish Amelina! Aryu goin to shleep wit me?"

'This is so embarrassing!! But right now I have to act all innocent 'cause I don't know what she'll do to me!'

"I was going to rest as soon as I got here, but seeing you here woke me up.", Maschenny retorted, her face contorting into an amused one.

'Tch. One more push!'

"You not my big shiss?"

Maschenny stared before chuckling. "Well, I do know that I have lots of half-siblings and you may be one of them, but what I'm actually wondering is, what is the privileges you have for using this room."

'I don't know and I don't want to know.'

"This room is the closest to father's, and naturally many of the wives are fighting over it.", Maschenny explained, sitting on the edge of the bed while still looking at Amelina. "And when one of the children are granted the rights of this room, that means they're favored by father. And I can't exactly comprehend as to how did you earn that privileges seeing you're still a baby."

'Yea, me too. Maybe you'll be favored if you get electrocuted every time Eduan is bored?'

But contrary to her hidden remarks, Amelina kept smiling innocently, not wanting to provoke the beautiful lady.

"Shall I test you a bit?"

'Is this what I'm thinking it is?'

Maschenny tapped a finger on Amelina's forehead, all the while smiling.

'Ah, I see. This one's also as psychotic as Eduan.', Amelina thought, as she brought out her usual 'I-don't-want-to-leave-this-world-with-regret' smile, bracing herself for any pain.

But none came. The 'bzzzt' noise still ensues, but Amelina still felt nothing.

Curious, Amelina opened her eyes, seeing upon a tranced Maschenny, eyes widened.

"Don't you feel anything, kid?", the lady asked, looking around Amelina for any hint of pain or injury.

"No!"

'Damn, I thought I was dying back there!'

"Hmm."

'...I preferred it when she was glaring down at me. That curious expression is the same as Eduan's and I've got a bad feeling about it.'

Maschenny grinned, before walking out of the room with a reminder. "I'll come back later. Enjoy your sleep, kid."

'Please don't. You're not welcomed.'

Amelina wasn't sure when did she fell asleep, but she was woken up by rustling of the sheets beside her, perking up her curiosity.

"Hmm?", Amelina peeked open an eye.

And seeing Eduan in his night robe beside her wasn't what she had expected.

"Oh, you're awake?"

'Hey, what about your wives? My life? My privacy? And it's not even morning yet!', Amelina inwardly protested as she glanced over the window, darkness still illuminating the outside world.

"Waifu?", the toddler managed to croak out.

Eduan stared at the toddler before smirking. "What, are you jealous you didn't get to spend the night with me?"

'Hell no.'

"No."

The man chuckled upon hearing his daughter's straightforward answer. "I've done what they wanted. So I'm doing what I want to do now. Just go back to sleep. I'll be right beside you when you wake up later."

Eduan then covered Amelina's eyes, who tried to pry off the bigger hand, but to no avail. So she gives up struggling with her hands still latched on her father's hand.

'I don't know why, but I'm glad he came back for me.'

Amelina herself didn't realize it, but Eduan definitely noticed the trembling smile the toddler had, before he himself grinned.

'Looks like she really missed me, huh?'

On the next day, the blue-haired man left after his daily dose of 'amusement' from Amelina (meaning their playtime) and was greeted by Maschenny soon after.

After the usual greetings the two had, Maschenny decided to go straight to the point.

"Father, about the kid, Amelina.."

"Oh? You've met her?", Eduan asked, clearly amused.

"Yes. By any chance, is she a jeonsulsa?", the long-haired female questioned, clearly still bothered by last night's event.

"Not sure."

"Pardon?"

"Well, she might be one, and she might not be one. But I'm confident to say that she's resistant enough to survive my shinsoo."

"Yours?"

Maschenny couldn't believe it. She has seen many people having high shinsoo resistance, but surviving her father's electricity? And the survivor's still a toddler on top of that.

The lady grinned as an idea popped up.

"May I train her, father?", Maschenny initiated, after a bit of thoughts.

"Train?"

"Yes. I believe if she were to be trained right, she could be a great warrior and high ranker in the future."

"Hmm.", Eduan pondered before answering. "Well, I give you my permission to train her."

"Thank you, father.", Maschenny slightly bowed, hiding her grin.

"But, you're not to bring her to your place. She will be staying in that room."

Although Maschenny didn't quite understand the reasons for the condition, but nonetheless she agreed with it.

After all, it wouldn't be so bad to raise another female warrior like her within the family.
