Amelina didn't know what tricks did Miru used, but Maschenny didn't seemed to be bothered at all by her one-day truancy. In fact, her smile looked even more more sinist-charming for the day.

Now, Ran had officially started to train with her. Although it was obvious they were on a completely different level, the girl felt assured with Ran beside her.

And currently, there was one thing that bothered her the most.

That was she couldn't use any shinsoo.

Not one bit.

Maschenny always mentioned about her being a jeonsulsa, but Amelina doubted it.

Just because she was literally electrocuted by Eduan almost every day, that doesn't mean she can use lightning too.

Now that she has a clear goal in her mind, she can't be holding back when there was all kinds of assets (Maschenny and Ran) surrounding her.

And if what Aguero told her was true (most probably is true), she needs to get stronger in order to climb the tower and leave the family once for all.

Besides, doing things with half-assed feelings only tires her out.

So during break time when Maschenny had sauntered off to somewhere, Amelina rambled on her current concern to Ran after they sat down under a tree, as a change of pace from the hellish training ground.

Both Eira and Miru (who had thankfully made up) were some distance away, respecting their young missus privacy.

"Hmm.. Does this means you're not a jeonsulsa?" Ran concluded, confused as to why Amelina was suddenly frantic about levelling up. Usually she would complain to him about how hard the training for the day.

"I told you, that's what Maschenny's wrong about!" Amelina pouted. "I can't even use any lightnings like you guys..."

"But you can withstand them?" Ran cut her off.

Amelina thought deeply, a hand on her chin. "I don't even know how that works. I mean, am I normal?"

Ran kept silent as the girl rambled on, before something crossed his mind.

"There is a simple way."

"Oh?"

Amelina knew she could trust Ran on the matter, seeing the boy was a jeonsulsa himself. Maybe he did something similar along the line to become one.

So she nodded along his offer, innocently swallowing the thing he gave her without much thought.

Only when she heard Miru's shout from the distance did she knew something was wrong.

Deadly wrong.

'That's weird. I can't hear any sound at all. And why do.. my body feel so numb?'

Amelina could feel her visions starting to blur, grey nothings slowly invading her mind. Amidst the confusion, she still could make out the genuinely horrified expression on Ran's face when she turned to him.

"Ran?" Amelina showed him an assuring smile, albeit still confused what was happening to her.

And that was the first time she felt how it's like to be struck by lightning.

Maschenny did not sign up for this.

It was supposed to be the usual, harmless 15-minutes break when she had gone off to take care of some business, only to be met with an unconscious Amelina, a frozen Ran and two annoyingly panicking servants that won't stop fretting over the little girl.

Though the Jahad princess noticed that the two servants kept a certain distance, as if held back by an invisible barrier.

"What is going on here-" Maschenny stopped in her track, face-palming as she assessed the whole situation.

The princess could guess what had happened, noticing a little mark on her little sister's cheek.

A 'trace', as what they would call it.

"You made her ate Lightning Pill?" Maschenny pressed.

It was amusing, to say at least, seeing her usually composed brother looking so lost over Amelina. Well, it's not like she couldn't understand it, though.

'A little more push would probably do it.'

"You could've killed her."

The princess mused as she noticed Ran's hold over the small, fragile body got tighter.

"No-"

"I'm just kidding. She won't die from a little shock," Maschenny snorted. "How do you think she's been living with father all these years?"

'I'm more surprised she didn't die, though. To think her body easily accepted the pills... Living with father for a long time may have it's own perks, after all. As expected, she is a jeonsulsa.'

The older female intended on manifesting Amelina's jeonsulsa skills later on after she got used to the physical training, but to think that Ran had beaten her to it.

It still irked Maschenny even if it was unintentional.

"You two, get her back to her room. She'll wake up later... Ran, why are your arms bleeding?" Maschenny swiftly went to the two kids' side after noticing the red oozing from the boy's arms.

The boy snapped out of his trance, finally noticing the bloods smearing his and Amelina's clothes.

Without waiting for any response, Maschenny reached out to take the girl out of Ran's arms, until a barrier of lightning zapped as she was about to touch her.

But it didn't matter to the Jahad princess, who forcefully took Amelina and hoisted the small body on her shoulder before walking away, lightning wildly zapping Maschenny's arm.

"Take care of the kid's arms," Maschenny ordered Miru, who looked reluctant to leave his mistress' side.

"...understood."

A smirk crept up to Maschenny's face as she turned around. "This kid never fails to surprise me... I didn't make the wrong choice after all."

"Ughhh..."

Amelina's eyes fluttered open, trying to make out everything in front of her.

'Ceiling? Am I inside?'

"You're awake?"

Amelina swallowed a scream as she backed away from the man in shock, until gravity pulled her down when she had unknowingly backed away too far.

'I'm falling!!'

Contrary to her thinking, a big hand pulled her back until she stumbled into his body, saving her from crashing onto the floor.

Amelina kept her gaze down, not daring to meet the electrifying blue eyes her father possessed as the family head stared down his daughter.

'Why is Eduan here?'

Bzzzzztt.

Amelina flickered her eyes towards her arm, where the older man still clutched on firmly.

"What is this..." Amelina mumbled, noticing the static dancing between her skin and Eduan's.

It wasn't there earlier, but it seemed to be alive and active when Eduan... touched her? What exactly is happening here?

As if reading her mind, the blue haired man calmly traced her palm as he explained what had happened to her.

"It's not a big deal. You just manifested your first quality, that's all."

"Quality?" Amelina finally looked up to her father, her big eyes filled with curiosity.

Eduan picked up the awe-stricken girl, who noticed the static became more violent as the man put her onto his lap.

"The Lightning Pill you consumed acted as a key to the quality sealed inside you," Eduan intertwined his hand with Amelina's, with the electricity acting up at the close contact. "It's pretty much the same like our playtime, but it seemed unstable now, that's why it kept attacking anyone blindly in contact."

It didn't took long for Amelina to understand as she openly gaped at the luminous, aqua-colored electricity dancing on her little hands.

True enough, it definitely felt like hers with the clearly different shades that doesn't belong to either Eduan nor Maschenny.

Hers.

Giggling to herself, Amelina playfully tested the shinsoo by putting her hands onto Eduan's chest and pulling it back, and keep repeating the cycle without noticing her father's gaze on her.

Eduan smirked at the girl's antics, slightly adjusting Amelina on his lap for a more comfortable position.

To think that Amelina could make such an expression... It seems there's still a lot of things he didn't know about his daughter.

A sudden knock cut through the bubbly atmosphere and Eduan scowled at the interruption. And much to his irritation, Amelina had snapped out of her childish attitude, sitting completely still on his lap.

"Come in," Eduan sharply ordered.

'I pity anyone who comes in after this...'

A timid looking maid hesitantly came in with a tray of foods in hands (mostly grapes), fearful eyes trained solely on the ground.

"I-I've brought your food, Sir Eduan.."

"Just leave it there," Eduan coldly stated, not bothering to cast his eyes on the fidgety maid as he twirled Amelina's hair.

Without a word, the maid left in hurry.

'Well, if I were to be the maid, I would probably do the same thing,' Amelina guiltily glanced at the closed door. 'Still, there was no need for him to do that, isn't it.'

"How long was I out?" Amelina randomly asked, trying to lighten the very tense mood.

Or a displeased Eduan, in this case.

Nothing good comes out of an Eduan in a bad mood, after all.

"Hmm.. two days?"

Amelina once again stopped playing with the shinsoo, dumbly looking up the man.

"Pardon?"

"Two days," Eduan answered again, more firmly this time.

There was a lot of things Amelina wanted to ask, but nothing came out as she gaped her mouth like a fish.

"Where's Ran?" Amelina managed out. "Or Eira and Miru?"

'Those two are my personal maid and retainer. They must have been near me all the time I was unconscious.'

Eduan narrowed his eyes at the mention of the names. Why is Amelina so concerned about them when he's right in front of her?

"No one could attend to you since the pills are still in effect. I was the only one who could withstand your intense shinsoo. A lower level jeonsulsa can never handle you properly."

Amelina flexed at the explanation.

Does that mean Eduan was the only person beside her in the span of two days? What about bathing her and all? Wait, what about Ran? Was he affected by her shinsoo?

The main question is, why would her shinsoo goes berserk when anyone touched her?

Amelina thought deeply with a hand tucked under her chin, various questions running through her mind.

Meanwhile, Eduan had wordlessly took something out from his drawer just beside the bed.

Wait, since when there was a drawer there?

"It's actually a good thing your quality manifested. I was planning to give this to you soon," Eduan turned Amelina around, her back now facing him.

'What is he doing?' Amelina suspiciously thought, as a cold line of metal brushed against her neck, making her shiver.

'What's this? A new type of child murder?'

"There, I had it made for you recently," Eduan huffed, as if proud of what he'd just done.

The girl warily glanced up to her father then to her neck.

To her surprise, a clear blue locket shaped like a raindrop dangled down, with this weird, swirling pattern inside the locket.

"Don't ever take it off."

Amelina inwardly protested at the order, not daring to talk back to the family head.

'Now I'm scared...'

Amelina couldn't sleep.

No matter how many times she closed her eyes, her mind kept flickering back to other things.

Like, Ran and Aguero.

Or her 'manifested' quality.

Also the still-active Lightning Pill.

And the locket.

Having enough of just uselessly laying down, Amelina quietly slid off the bed (after having a hard time removing Eduan's arm around her) and quietly headed back to her room.

Entering the serene room, Amelina was surprised to see the windows wide open, curtains flapping and the room was dimly lit by the moonlight.

A sense of déjà vu hit her when she noticed a figure curled up on her bed without any blanket covering him.

"Ran... were you waiting for me?..." Amelina sadly whispered.

To think she'd left the boy alone again for two days... No amount of apologizes can suffice how guilty she felt now.

'But why do he seemed battered than before?'

Reaching out to stroke the sleeping figure, a tiny flicker of aqua had reminded her that none other than Eduan could touch her in her current state.

The unstable shinsoo, as Eduan had worded it.

Amelina decided to return back later in the morning and hesitantly walked to the door, until a pair of arms snaked around her waist from behind.

"Wha- no!" Amelina tried to pry off the hands, fearing her statics might hurt the culprit.

As in, her half-brother, Ran.

"You'll get hurt if you touch me!" the girl frantically warned.

But to no avail, Ran stubbornly kept his hold.

"It's fine," Ran sighed, resting his chin onto Amelina's shoulder. "I can handle it now..."

Amelina noticed there was a thin layer of luminous blue electricity coating Ran's arms and possibly, his whole figure. Perhaps, it'd served as a protective barrier against her own whizzing shinsoo.

"I'm sorry."

Amelina widened her eyes at the sentiment. Never would she imagined the impassive boy to apologize to her, or to anyone else.

But what was he apologizing for?

"Ran? There's nothing for you to apologize..."

"I just thought that... giving you the Lightning Pill might help you with your trouble since Maschenny was so sure that you're a jeonsulsa.."

'So it's partly big sis Maschenny's fault here then?'

"... then you fell unconscious for two days..."

"It was just two days, Ran," Amelina sweat-dropped.

If Ran was already acting like this, she can't imagine how paranoid Eira and Miru must have been. They can't even stay by her side in those times.

The girl relaxed into Ran's hug, gently stroking his arms to calm him down until she brushed against something fairly rough.

Bandages.

"W-what happened to you arms, Ran?!" Amelina fretted over, now fully-turned to face Ran properly.

"It's nothing. Just some grazes," the boy averted his gaze.

The girl stared at her brother in doubt, before mumbling out, "It's me, isn't it?"

"No."

"It is."

"It's not."

"It is."

"It's not."

"...Ran."

"It's not."

"..."

It wasn't long before Amelina burst into fits of laughter while Ran smiled seeing his Ame cheered up.

After that, the two continued their conversation on the bed, lying while facing each other.

"Why do you look so tired?" Amelina had questioned, tracing her fingers on Ran's tired eyelids. "You look more battered up too."

"Nothing important. I just increased my trainings, that's all," Ran stroked Amelina's trace mark on her cheek in return. 'So I can touch you like this...'

Even if he had to throw away his pride, asking assistance from Maschenny for his 'trainings'.

The boy sighed out in relief, feeling content now that his hard work had paid off.

A flicker of a light caught Ran's eyes, as his gaze went to the clear blue locket.

"Ah this?" Amelina brought up the small object after noticing Ran's stare. "He... gave me earlier, but I don't think I really need it."

"...you should treasure it."

"Oh?" Amelina looked at Ran in surprise. "Well, if you say so, maybe I should.."

'That locket... it has the family symbol embedded in it.'

Bonus:

"How many times more do I have to cover up the two of you together?" Maschenny grumbled, a stoic look on her face as she towered down the two children.

"It's not my fault that I fell asleep in my own room," Amelina emphasized the word 'own', slightly clenching her hold on Ran's hand who squeezed back.

Needless to say, Eduan did cause a fuss in the morning when he didn't found his small daughter anywhere near him nor in his room. And no one wants to deal with a pissed off Eduan.

Even Maschenny.

But she still did it.

"You of all people knew how much of a self-centered person your father is."

"Our father, you mean," Ran corrected, throwing Maschenny a pointed look that said 'like you'.

"Why are you scolding us as if me and Ran had some kind of fling?" Amelina whined and both Eira and Miru choked at the choice of words.

"We just slept together, that's all," Ran finished for Amelina.

"Oh dear," Eira sweat-dropped. Looks like she needs to teach these children manners of words.

Author's note:

YESSS, FINALLY I CAN UPDATE!!

I can't even remember how many times this draft disappeared due to the lack of connection *sobs uncontrollably*.

I have to say, interacting with dear readers have been my favourite thing after finishing my drafts, since you all are so supportive and honestly, some of your comments are even used to further widen the plotline!!

And to answer your question, Tribble Chan-san (sorry if that doesn't make sense), Amelina is around Ran's age, slightly younger than Aguero. Though I can't say the definite numbers since I'm also confused about ToG's sense of age.

I'm also sorry for my poor writing and all, since I'm also practicing for my narrative essay (lol), very sorry if some of you are confused about the place and all, I'm just stating the places in general since like, the Khun residence must be very big with the family (Eduan's fault).

I'm also still on my business course work that thankfully had lessened with me ignoring this fic for a while... *sobs again*

Anyway, thank you for reading this lowly fic and have a great day!!

P.S: Me an my co-author were flabbergasted at the theories about Ame's future, since wow... you readers think too deeply for this fic..

QAQ

P.S.S: I have a certain reason why there are more of Ran's scenes that will be revealed in the... well a lot more chapters? (once again, sorry for always being late on updating)

Sayonara!! Love chu guys!
