Amelina's eyelids softly fluttered open, welcoming a (probably) bright new fay ahead.
Only to be pressured down by someone's weight, rendering her difficult to breath.
'H-heavy...'
The girl quietly slipped out under Eduan's grasp, sighing out in relief after doing so.
'This man really has no sense of privacy,' Amelina thought as dread filled her gut, thinking back of how it has been for the past two days.
It wasn't that bad before, but after she had gone 'missing' for a night, Eduan had insisted that he has to make sure she doesn't 'disappear', much to her irritation.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Amelina swung her short legs in the air, slightly leaning backwards as she pondered on how much longer did she has to stay there.
As in, Eduan's bedroom.
Even though she was able to meet with Ran and the others two days prior, it wasn't exactly a joyful reunion.
In fact, it almost turned into a nightmare when her shinsoo suddenly went berserk and attacked anyone blindly. If not for Maschenny controlling the situation, it could've turned into an absolute chaos.
In the end, the Jahad princess had decided it was best for her to stay put in their father's room for the time being, seeing the girl still can't control the capacity of her electricity as long as the Lightning Pill was still in effect, much to her dismay.
'Just when I wanted to train more seriously, why did it have to be like this? When will the pill- wait...'
Realizing something crucial for her, Amelina turned to the sleeping man with a hopeful look, her palm reaching out to the family head whose features were hidden by his long bangs until-
"What are you doing?" another hand stopped her from reaching her target, firmly holding Amelina's wrist in place.
For the nth times, Amelina forced her shocked scream down her throat, instinctively shaking her head vigorously.
'Wait-'
"Ah!" Amelina snapped out from her inner crisis, her electric blue iris lighting up in excitement as she pointed to the linked hands of hers and Eduan's. "There's no more of it!"
"Of what?" Eduan indifferently asked, yawning while sitting up.
"The shinsoo! That thing that goes brrrr!"
'This means... the Lightning Pill finally died out!'
Eduan chuckled at Amelina's sudden enthusiasm, deciding not to comment about her choice of words. It really surprises him no matter how many times he'd observed his daughter's contradicting demeanor.
One time she was completely silent, and the next thing he knew she would be excited like right now.
Well, he don't really need to know that it's actually because of him, right?
"Can I.. go to training now?" Amelina asked, looking away so her intention of escaping the pithole won't be so obvious. Though there was a hint of hope in her voice that definitely doesn't escape Eduan's attention.
"Sure."
'Yes!!' Amelina inwardly cheered.
"After lunch, that is."
As if robbed of her happiness, Amelina's smile faltered as she held the urge to protest out loud and just run away from the room, or the family head.
"..why?" she managed out, looking away to hide her expression of disappointment.
What she didn't realize was Eduan suppressing his chuckle with how obviously down Amelina was.
"I'm bored now, so keep me entertained until then," Eduan smirked, twirling his long, untied hair.
'Old man, aren't you supposed to say that to your wives?'
"So what do I have to do today?"
Maschenny was taken aback to see her younger sister looking so relieved to start a training session. Even Ran's not here to join them.
Then again, she was with her 'beloved' father for four days straight. She may have (definitely) gotten sick of seeing Eduan's face every single second after waking up (Maschenny's not wrong).
'Oh well, this is better.'
"You may have awoken your jeonsulsa ability, but it's pretty much meaningless if you can't even control it," Maschenny taunted.
Cue for Amelina to look away and pout.
"So for today, let's see how much you can-" the princess fabricated a lightning spear, as Amelina gulped at the sight, "-maximize your limit over shinsoo-control."
'Uh oh.'
"I hope you're ready?"
Lying face-first on the cold cement, Amelina internally cursed her half-sister who had (happily) sauntered away minutes ago, leaving her completely alone and vulnerable.
'I bet she wasn't considering this session as a training for me, but an entertainment for her.'
There was no Eira nor Miru, and especially Ran to help her exhausted self up, but the girl actually found comfort on the hard ground rather than facing reality.
The reality of being so weak.
'Will Aguero be disappointed if he saw me like this?'
She can't lie if the rarely met boy was her secret source of motivation during her grueling session, one who shone a light of hope on her.
"Ugh... I swear when I get stronger one day, I'll pay back twice of what big sis Maschenny's done to me."
What made her so hateful towards the Jahad princess, anyway?
After being told to manifest her electricity without taking the Lightning Pill (which took her approximately thirty minutes), she was continuously bombarded with attacks from Maschenny without mercy.
Sure, she could withstand the attacks better, but trying to implement her own shinsoo was harder than she'd thought, causing herself to lose focus a lot of times.
Scratch that, all of the times.
And also resulting her being beaten into a pulp by Maschenny.
"It's no fun with you being this weak, so why don't you try to make a lightning spear first?" Maschenny had left her with an assignment without any leads nor hints about it.
"Why don't you actually teach me about the most basic things first?" Amelina groaned, slightly wincing as her hands supported her weight up from the ground. "Ahh, now I have even more bruises."
Patting her skirt to get rid of the dusts, Amelina wondered if she should get back to her room (and completely ignore the assignment) or continue to train by herself without any guide.
"Maybe I should get Ran to help me? Edu- wait no. Definitely not him. Miru? Hmm..."
Staring at her small hands in doubt, the ticked off Amelina once again tried to conjure electricity to her palms while pacing around impatiently.
How can she make a lightning spear when even summoning the shinsoo took a long time?
It wasn't long until she (dumbly) tripped on her own feet and once more met the oh-so-loving cold cement.
"Ugh... big sis Maschenny!!"
Too downhearted to even get up, Amelina continued to whine about and hitting the poor ground in protest, not realizing another passerby nearing her small figure.
It's probably worth mentioning that the anonymous figure already had their gaze locked onto the training ground from the shadows, hiding his presence.
Of course, even witnessing the harsh beating Amelina got from the beginning till the end.
"Are you okay down there?"Amelina stiffened at the unfamiliar male voice, reflexively ceasing every of her actions.
Who would it be when there's not a lot of people visiting the main estate nowadays?
'Don't look up. Don't look up. Don't look up-'
Alas, after noticing the shadow of the person towering over her body, Amelina couldn't exactly contain her curiosity and over to the mysterious silhouette.
'Is he a... Khun?'
"Do you want me to give you some tips?" the male offered, obviously overheard what Maschenny had instructed her, and also witnessing her childish tantrum. "Though it might not be as useful compared to that of a Jahad princess," he continued, wearing a hesitant smile while awkwardly scratching the back of his head.
"Eh?..."
It was already past midnight when Amelina returned to her room, looking fairly exhausted. It was no wonder if she'd fell asleep instantly the moment her body plopped on the fluffy bed. She didn't even thought of changing out of her still-sweaty attire.
And she didn't bother to think about a certain person waiting for her in the next room ("He'll rudely let himself in this room later anyway. Why bothering going to his room?").
Unconciously nuzzling into her pillow, Amelina wore a small smile, one that contradicts her tired feature.
Perhaps it was the man that offered her assistance in her self-training that made her that way?
Or maybe the fact that she'd learnt a lot about her quality?
'Looks like... I'll be having a sweet dream tonight.'
Author's note:
I'm not even surprised I published this later than I'd planned (like always •́ ‿ ,•̀)
I'm warning the audience, this fic might be a little fast-paced, so I'll apologize for the very little moments of Amelina with her family. (I might compensate it with bonus chapters, who knows?)
As for publishing this fic to another site... I'm still reconsidering, since me and my co-author are currently tortured with the tremendous amount of school work, so yea if I have a lot of time, I'll try doing it (UwU,)
Someone PM-ed me asking how did I visual Amelina in this fic, due to Asensio's bonus chapter. So I may post the sketch of her in my twitter (not digital, I suck at that).
Once again, thank you for supporting this fic, I'm really crying on how attentive you readers are through the comments *sobs*.
Sayonara!! Love chu guys!
