"Just now… what did you say?"

The Jahad Princess whom Amelina never wanted to admit as her blood-related sister only hummed in response, Asensio rigidly stood behind her when Amelina glanced at him, looking for any evidence of possible lies. "You're losing your focus lately, so I'll bring you to a quiet place where we can train all day long. "

The fear that struck Amelina's heart wasn't visible, only confusion and shock did. It wasn't that she fears Maschenny, no, Amelina knows she doesn't fear this person called her half-sister. But the only thing she feared as of now is 'letting go' another person she held dear.

'She didn't find out about Aguero, did she?'

"Don't worry. Since father insisted, you have three days to spend your time with him or whatsoever. Just be ready when Asensio comes to get you."

Her tone didn't have any ulterior motive behind it, Amelina noticed, but none of her words comforted the girl one bit. This three-days gap was a chance too good to be true, but also too wasteful to let go.

'I can meet up with Aguero…'

Her mind was clouded with Aguero and only him, considering they hadn't meet for a few days since Miru wasn't present by her side. Until now, she was troubled over ways she could use to reach or contact Aguero.

'Even a day- a single day would suffice… so please…'

Unknown to Amelina, a pair of electric blue eyes eyed her carefully.

There were several ways she managed to list out after an hour of internal contemplation and debate with herself, but both of the best options have their own risks and downsides. Just thinking about it make her head hurts, how did Miru even manage to sneak her out so frequently before this?

Okay, she should lay out her ideas first.

First, use the map to the Agnis residence Miru drew for her and use the retainer's method of climbing over the tall tree right beside Aguero's room and knock on the window three times. She didn't know those two had some sort of secret codes but using this way is very risky because her disappearance from the main estate itself will raise suspicions and she's not very confident about her sneaking skills. It doesn't help how Maschenny and Asensio would drop in without prior notice, even if they promised to let her spend her free time by herself for the rest of the promised three days.

Second is an obviously fake visit to the school grounds-which she could probably convince Asensio to take her there despite the suspicion she will arouse because she has never even taken an interest about that institution as far as her siblings knew. But the real problem is escaping the man himself and there isn't any confirmation that Aguero will be attending school when there was no use for him to be there.

It was at that moment did Amelina realize how truly useful Miru's role was. She only ever saw him doing his normal retainer tasks, but for those underground and shady ones… no wonder he hid about those before Amelina found out about it from Aguero.

If only there was a third person, a completely unrelated person which can conveniently send over her words so she didn't have to physically go over there herself and risking Maschenny finding out about Aguero and 'eliminating' him because 'he's disturbing your focus'.

No, she's not going to let the same history repeat.

As if on cue, a couple of knocks resonated through her room, and it brought back Amelina to reality that she called a maid to help her pack her things. Whatever kind of things she needed to pack, Amelina herself wasn't so sure, and that's precisely why she called this servant in the first place. But on another thought, her presence matched the timing she's pondering over her lament.

'Right, I could use her just for a bit…' the girl gulped, and she rushed to make preparations.

After neatly folding her note, Amelina welcomed the maid in before giving her a set of instructions she never knew would've lead to the very situation she'd loathe.

The dark grey clouds hanging over the floor where the Khun family's land situated thickened, a familiar rumbling booming in the distance. The winds howled, blowing a sign of heavy downpour incoming but a figure stood ever so straight under the shade of a tree, never budging from the minute she arrived there.

One drop.

Two drops.

A few more drops of rain descended from the sky before it turned into a horde of water bullets, completely drenching the girl who waited and waited but the person she expected never came.

'Don't worry, Aguero will come.'

'He's probably running a little late.'

'The rain probably dragged him back a little.

'The letter probably didn't reach him.'

'The maid probably forgot to send it to Aguero.'

'Maybe I should've personally went there regardless of Maschenny.'

Countless thoughts continued to speculate through Amelina's mind as she relieved in the feeling of raindrops hitting her face as a way to calm herself, but the worry and fear gnawing at her mind couldn't fade no matter how much more she's soaked to the bones. It truly feels like there's no one else in the world aside from her grieving in her cage of loneliness.

It was only when the unbelievably fake sky turned dark and when the rain completely stopped did Amelina decided to finally move from her spot; the memorable-turned-sorrowful spot where she and Aguero first interacted on that one fateful day. To her, a mere eight hours of waiting won't compare to how much Aguero meant to her.

Because now, she only had him. He was everything to her.

"It's fine… I still have two days… to set things right…" somehow her voice sounded hoarse and her legs felt heavy moving forward even though she was sure she hadn't done any exhausting training. Her heavy steps weren't once fazed into moving forward, the girl internally convincing herself that nothing was wrong.

Her wobbly legs barely managed to walk her drenched figure back to the estate, where her hazy mind couldn't push away nor comprehend how the servants are shouting in panic as those adults surrounded her. It left a contradicting feeling in her heart considering they used to look at her in contempt before.

Though the last thing she could hear through the multiple voices during that fleeting consciousness was: "Amelina!"

How very unfortunate Amelina couldn't see Asensio's fear-stricken expression when he caught her collapsed form.

The first thing Amelina noticed when she woke up was how her body (or maybe it's her head?) felt heavier and hotter than usual. The ache in her muscle seemed to be tripled and her vision looked blurry and unfocused. It felt pretty weird since she never experienced this kind of pain that spreads internally, but the only thing currently overwhelming her mind was her next mean of reaching her beloved half-big brother.

'Maybe I should find that maid first… or perhaps I should go straight to where Aguero is…'

As of now, there's a different nosy maid who insisted that Amelina should lie back down, in her hand was what Amelina recognized as a damp cloth but the young Khun had no time for that. Not when she hasn't yet to achieve what she has set her heart on, on what her desire urged her.

That is, until another maid came into the room with an unexpected message.

"Young miss, you have a visitor."

Author's note:

Since the climax is nearing, I am slightly worried as how you guys would think how I developed the plot. Then again, everything I did was for the sake of dear Ame, so yea- I'll just bulldoze my way through.
