From the plane Abigail looked dreamily out the window. A beautiful clear blue sky free from any clouds.
Her stomach was fluttering. She was nervous and excited to see The Commissioner.
She had missed him something terrible.
When two people worked together in sync for so long it just felt like life was out of whack being apart.
Her thoughts drifted back to her and her mother's conversation about what were the Commissioner's intentions with her?
She wondered if he had thought that far ahead.
If he would ever want to walk down the aisle again one day…
She took a deep breath and told herself
I'm just going to enjoy being home. Seeing him again. And getting all dressed up for the Policeman's Ball tonight.
That's where she would see him first as she had just enough time once her plane landed to get home to her apartment, dress, and meet him at the ball.
