ABIGAIL'S RELEASE
Abigail was miffed.
She couldn't believe the Commissioner hadn't visited her since she had woken up.
What the hell was his problem?
Sure, he sent me some nice flowers but why wasn't HE here?
At first she had been confused.
Then as the hours passed she felt saddened.
And now she was just downright pissed.
The doctor had just recently come in and told her he was granting her an early release.
Apparently she was healing remarkably fast.
She had dressed in the jeans and sweater that was in her bag of clothes. Sid had kindly brought her an overnight bag.
She was just gathering the last of her things when Sid entered the room.
"Hey Abigail, I'm here to take you home. Well, me and the detail," he nodded behind him to Jim waiting in the hallway.
Abigail's brows furrowed together.
"That's nice of you, Sid, but I'm fine. I can take myself home." She said in a low tone. She was growing increasingly angrier with the Commissioner for avoiding her.
"Ahh sorry, Abby, but I got orders. The Commissioner insisted."
Abigail spun around with fire in her eyes.
Sid noticed and took a step back unawares.
"Did he now?" she said icily.
Sid coughed nervously. He knew full well that the Commissioner was acting strangely and hadn't been to visit Abigail since she had woken up.
"Yea, I'm sorry. Can I help you with anything?"
Baker was seething.
How dare he?
First he disappears the night I'm shot.
Then he doesn't bother to come back and see how I'm doing.
Now he's not asking but DEMANDING I get sent home by his detail?!
Without thinking she flung the oversized teddy bear Sid got her at him.
"Haul him for me."
Sid about fell over trying to catch the bear. "Sure, no problem," he gave a worried look to Jim who just shrugged his shoulders as if to say what can we do?
A/N: It's not my favorite thing to write the Commissioner as acting like a jerk LOL but more reasons will be explained soon. Stay tuned!
And with that Baker stormed out of the hospital room.
