Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY, Assassin's Creed, or The Gamer. The only thing I have even the most tenuous claim to ownership of is my Self Insert/Original Character.
Story recommendation for this chapter is A Gamers Guide To Necromancy by The Dark Wolf Shiro. Great read and Gamer Fic.

I look down at the Boss monster, 'A Named Monster as the boss for a Tutorial Dungeon. Don't you think that's a bit much?' I think to the System. 'Well at least give me some good Boss Music.'
[Playing "Wolf Totem"—The HU feat. Jacoby Shaddix]
'That'll work,' I grin down at Radulph as I prepare to attack. I drop from the tree as silently as I can and land on the alpha's back, my blades burying deep into its neck. The beast howls in pain or anger at my attack, and I'm able to get a few more hits, bringing him down to 450 HP.
However, I wasn't prepared for the Alpha's increased speed and intelligence and was quickly shaken off before being smacked across the clearing. Rolling with the hit that shaved 10 of my HP off instantly, I scrambled up the nearest tree just as Radulph slammed into the trunk.
'OK,' I think, with surprisingly little panic, as I maneuver through the canopy. 'This is REALLY going to be tricky. Thank you, Gamer's Mind. I would definitely be catatonic without you right now. And probably have some cracked ribs from that hit without Gamer's Body.'
The Grimm is still battering away at the tree I first climbed, not having noticed my movement through the shadowy canopy in its angered state. Positioning myself above and behind the beast proved easy enough, and I dove back into the fray once more.
Clamping my legs around its neck and stabbing my right blade into its eye socket to secure my grip this time, I quickly landed several blows along its neck and shoulders before launching myself off its back and back into the trees. My hands, slick with Grimm's black blood, almost slip off the branch, but I catch them just in time. I quickly fire off an 'Observe.' to check my progress.

'Well, I guess it's just rinse and repeat from this point on,' I reason as I prepare for another assault. I leap down towards the side I just blinded, this time jamming my left blade into its remaining eye socket. I cling to its neck with as much strength as I can muster and stab and slash with my right blade deep into its neck, my legs and arms growing slick with the inky discharge of the Grimm's blood. It still manages to knock off an extra third of my HP with wild swings. But this time I don't let up, and the Alpha's cries grow softer and softer until they cease entirely as the grimm fades to ash. Tumbling down from my now-vanished perch, I see a new system message floating in my vision.

Glancing around, I see a small wooden chest by my feet. As I stare at it, I reply to the system message. "Yes," and the chest disintegrates to leave a small pile of loot that I sweep into my Inventory.

"Well at least there's a safeguard put in place in case I get in over my head." I state as I read through the Skill Description.
"Now how do I get out of this place?" I mutter under my breath. A swirling portal of shadows appears in front of me as soon as I say the words. I walk through and find Taiyang Xiao Long standing in my open doorway. My new guardian, even though it wasn't quite on paper yet.
Tai seems unphased at my appearing out of a swirling gray portal. He surveys my clothes, the testament to the carnage I had experienced still dissolving of my clothing in the form of black soot. He says only one word. "Explain," the stern expression on his face undoubtedly belonging to a parent deciding the fate of their charge.
And so I explain. Using the Party System I share my Status with him.

I described the Dungeon and what I had done inside. Every time I tried to downplay what I had done or say it wasn't so bad, he raised his eyebrow and gave me a look until I told him exactly what had happened. When I finished describing the boss fight, I could see a strange expression in his eyes.
"So," I remark upon finishing my, in my ever-humble opinion, awesome tale. "Am I in trouble?"
"Not even 24 hours and you're already giving me a headache." Tai murmurs as he rubs his temples. "No, kid, you're not in trouble." I breathe a sigh of relief before he continues. "This time. If I understand correctly, you must have aura unlocked in order to create your own dungeons?"
I nod tentatively in response to his question, unsure where this is going. "Yeah that's right. So…" I start to ask before he holds up his hand.
"I'm not going to unlock your aura so that you can spend your nights trying to get yourself killed by Grimm." Ignoring my pout he continues. "Do you think there are going to be more of these dungeons, ones that you don't create, I mean?"
I once again nod before going to speak again until he stops me.
"So here's what the rules are going to be for these Dungeons." He says this in probably the most direct tone I've ever heard. "You are going to keep me in your party 24/7 until you enter combat school. If you stumble across a dungeon that you think you can clear on your own, you will send me a scroll message, and only if I approve will you enter the dungeon. I will accompany you on all future 'Dungeon runs' until, at the very least, you reach combat school. If you encounter a dungeon that you think you would need help clearing, you will ignore it. You can write down its location if you want to come back to it later, but you will not enter it under any circumstances, understood?"
I nodded glumly and immediately responded to his raised eyebrow. "Understood Sir."
"It's still just Tai," he says in a much softer tone now. "Ciar, you have to understand that these rules aren't to restrict you. They're to make sure you don't vanish and leave Ruby, Yang, and me wondering what happened to you." My eyes widened at his words, realizing only now that I had no idea what would happen to my body if the worst did happen in a dungeon. "Can you follow those rules, Ciar?" He asks softly. When he sees my emphatic nod, he smiles for the first time that morning and says in his usual slightly playful tone. "Good. Now go wash up and come to breakfast so we can get the difficult parts of your staying with us out of the way."
"Difficult parts?" I inquire tentatively, my face uncertain.
"Well, first we've got to get some paperwork in order for my guardianship of you." It shouldn't take all that long, what with my hunters license and your parents last message. And then we get to the hardest part," he says, chuckling at my confused expression. "Making sure you have all the clothes you're going to need for the next while. Especially with school coming soon." Ignoring my groan of distress at the thought of clothes shopping and school bearing down on me, he urges me towards the bathroom to get cleaned up from my eventful night.
Unequipping my parent's old gear, it goes from form fitting back to well oversized for my slight childs frame. Hanging the robe on the back of the door, I notice the wear that is already showing on it from my night locked in brutal combat. I take off the gauntlets and see the black gunk starting to stain the leather. I place them in my Inventory knowing that I'll need to clean them later.
I take a second to look at myself in the mirror. And I am startled by what I see there. My face, still not entirely familiar to me even with the memory merge, is lit up with an emotion that I can really only describe as adrenaline-filled exhilaration. My pupils are still slit-like, my jaguar ears are out to the sides and flat, and the ghost of a maniacal grin still lingers on my face even after the talk with Tai.
"Did I have that face the entire time I was talking to Tai?" I wonder. "No wonder he brought those rules down on me so hard. Since when was I a battle junkie?"
I turn on the shower and wait for the water to warm up. Sitting on the toilet, I put my head in my hands, trying to sort through my memories for a reason that I would have that reaction to nearly dying. 'I have the body of a seven-year-old kid, the mind of a twenty-year-old nerd, and the battle instincts of a teenage initiate of the Assassin Order. But who am I? The only name I remember is the one belonging to this body; does that mean that is who I am? But I remember most about living the mundane life of the nerd on the Hub World; does that make that who I am? And I took to that battle for my life like it was nothing; does that mean I'm the assassin initiate?'
Noticing that the shower was ready, I stepped into it, once more marveling at the feel of the warm water cascading down my body. 'Does it matter who I am?' I wonder. 'Will it change anything for me in the long run if I'm the Faunus son of members of a hunter parallel to the Assassin's Order, the nerd who spent his life on the Hub World experiencing the lives of others to gain that sense of adventure his own lacked, or if I'm the son of Assassins being trained in snippets by my parents as we tried our best to stay merely one step ahead of the Templars?'
My train of thought comes to an end as I rinse the soap out of my hair before turning off the water and stepping out of the shower. "No," I decide, saying it out loud to ground myself with a firmness I still did not feel in my decision. "I am Ciar Tzefanya Uwzal, a melanistic Jaguar Faunus, and a Remnantean. That is who I am now; who I might have been before doesn't matter anymore." I say, justifying my decision with as much logic as I can muster. "Biologically, I am seven; my body will behave as a seven-year-old's body would biologically, which will affect me mentally as well. The only thing thinking differently is going to get me is confusion and time in a mental hospital."
Toweling off and stepping out of the bathroom, I find my old clothes cleaned and folded on the bed. I quickly put them on and noticed how frayed they were. I guess having parents that were on the run and in hiding means crappy clothes no matter which world you lived in.
Stepping out into the hallway, I am greeted by the heavenly smell of breakfast. Eggs, sausage, and... pancakes?! Doing my best to keep my pace natural, I make my way to the kitchen to find, not Tai, but Yang, at the stove, flipping golden-brown circles of pancakey goodness onto a plate covered with a towel. On the table are containers of slightly steaming eggs, sausage, and syrup. At the table already are Tai, Ruby, and a tall, skinny man with slightly bloodshot eyes. His hair is black and spiky; his irises are red; and he wears a tattered red cloak.
Seeing me come in, Tai waves at me to take a seat. "Come on in and sit down, Ciar." He says before gesturing to the unknown man in the room. "This is Qrow, Ruby, and Yang's uncle and my old teammate and friend. Qrow, this is Ciar; he's Ophis and Ailbhe's son."
A slight shiver goes down his spine at the mention of my mother's name, and I raise my brow questioningly at the two men. Tai seems to be barely containing his laughter at our reactions, and Qrow looks increasingly uncomfortable.
"Nice to meet you, kid," Qrow says, seemingly trying to brush aside his reaction to my mother's name. Ignoring his incredibly poor attempt at deflection, I turn to the shaking blonde at the table and raise my brow higher.
"Hahahaha!" This seems to be the final straw for Tai, as he bursts out laughing. "We met your parents on an exchange program between Shade and Beacon while we were all students. Qrow thought that he might have a little more luck with girls that didn't know him as well, so he made some moves on your mom right before a combat training match. She beat him down so hard that people watching could feel it and at the very end she leans down and whispers something in his ear and…"
"How about we leave that story there," Qrow says, hurriedly cutting Tai off before he can finish the sentence. "I don't think that we need to be bringing up ancient history now, do we? Cause if so I could think of a few stories that thee girls would just love to hear about their old man"
"Ok, ok, calm down," Tai says, placating the other man. "But it did teach you to check for rings before you flirt."
Qrow grumbles darkly at Tai's words but accedes to his point. "That doesn't mean you have to bring it up the first time I meet the kid," he mumbles almost petulantly.
The conversation is put to an end by Yang, who sets the covered plate loaded with pancakes down on the table. "Enough talking," she announces. "Time to eat."
Ruby's cheering is matched in enthusiasm only by Qrow's relief at the conversation being over. And we all dig into the delicious breakfast spread out before us.
AN: I changed how stat points work to make them be gained at a fixed rate of 5 per level. Mainly just to keep myself sane with all the math that I would have to do otherwise but also because I hadn't really realized how many problems the exponential growth of SP per LV could get, so thanks to Tenrai Sakai for pointing it out to me. Constructive criticism is ALWAYS appreciated. Thanks for reading; see you guys next time.
