End of Chapter 25
Standing before Shun and Kelly was Reiji, his staff behind him, "I'm Reiji, Reiji Akaba." he told the two.
"Leo Corporation's current president." he added, "So its true, he is his son..." Shun thought, "And the fact that you continue to target parties related to Leo Corporation, such as LDS in this city means you wish to meet me, right?" Reiji asked. "Am I mistaken?" he added.
"So you are an Akaba..." Shun smiled briefly, "The son of Leo Akaba." he then prepared to activate his Duel Disk, "Oh you don't know how long I've been waiting for this." he said, "Now come! Duel me!" he declared.
"I will..." Reiji began, making Shun grin, "But before that, answer me this. Why do you wish to fight me?" he asked, "He doesn't need to answer that!" Kelly shouted to him, "It's most likely to rescue your comrade." hearing this, the two were shocked.
"That girl behind you...," Reiji pointed to the unconscious Masumi "Testified that you said this when she first encountered you." and then quoted exactly what Shun had said, "From that, I deduced that this 'Ruri' as you call her, is your comrade, and that she's currently captured by your enemy?" he asked, Shun frowning at this. "And even now, she's yet to escape their grasp."
"And the reason you attack LDS as you do, was to lure me out?" he finished, "He... He figured out our plan so fast" Kelly thought, "You... You set this up! Didn't you!?" she asked. "Yes, however..." Reiji looked back at the unconscious three students. "She changed the plan." he said.
"There's no doubt that Ruri is still in the enemy's clutches now..." Shun began, "But I will save her!" he declared, "And all I need to do that, is just you!"
"And you're right, all this was to lure you out." he said, "So all this was to get me? Simply put, you wish to use me as a hostage for a hostage exchange." Reiji deduced, "That's right, if I have his son then even Leo Akaba will be unable to say no," he explained.
"I wonder about that..." Reiji retorted, confusing them, "What?" Kelly said, "It's just I have a hard time believing that he values me that much." he said, "What do you mean? Of course he would, you're his-" "Nevermind that now..." Reiji cut Kelly off, which she did not enjoy.
"Just to clarify this again, you wish to fight me, right?" he asked, Shun nodded, however with what he had just told them, he was a bit unsure if this plan would work, "I've already said that I would fight you..."
"But I do have one condition." he requested, "A condition?" Shun repeated, wondering what it could be. "If you can fulfil my condition, then I'll gladly be your opponent." he then turned around, "And if you win..." he looked back at the two, "You can do whatever you want then." he said and then walked off, his staff beginning to follow him.
"Hey wait!" Shun shouted, but Reiji didn't respond, "Reiji Akaba, just what are you planning?" Kelly thought, glaring at the back of Akaba's head...
Sakaki Residence, (he next morning)
Just as the first rays of sunlight shone into Yuya's window over his Deck, he picked it up, he then thought back on Nico's words from after his Duel with Mieru. "This is it, these 49 Duels this year have been leading to this Duel, today, my future will be decided." he thought determined.
"Nico knows this, so he must have picked an incredible Duelist for me to go against, one that will push me further then any other Duelist has pushed me before..." he then thought back onto his Duel against Reiji. "By using my old cards again, I should be able to surprise both Nico and my opponent."
"But no matter who my opponent is, the only thing that is truly important is that I'll believe in myself, and make it through with my entertainment Dueling!" he declared with a smile and confidences.
"But first!" he pocketed his Deck, ran out of his room, and leaped onto the firepole, "Time to eat my fill of mom's pancakes!" he declare as he slide down, "Seeing that this will be my 30th win, I think 30 pancakes will-" as Yuya got off the pole, he suddenly noticed something off.
"Wait..." he looked into the kitchen, where he mother would be cooking breakfast at this time, she however was not present. "Huh? That's odd, where is she?" he asked himself looking about, "Maybe she went out, and left a plate for me." he looked in the fridge, sadly there was no plate for him in there. "There goes that idea." he sighed out defeated.
"Wait! Where's Sora?" he then looked around for the pesky young Duelist, but saw no sign of him either. During that, he also noticed that En, Core, and the other animals that his mother had somewhat taken in, were not seen either. "Okay... this is a bit odd, where is everybody?" he asked looked up. Upon not getting an epiphany on the subject, his stomach growled lightly.
"Hmm, guess there's nothing I can do about that, might as well get myself a little snack, and then go to You Show, that's probably where everyone is by now." he told himself and then went to get himself something to eat...
You Show Duel School
Yuya stood in the elevator, eating his chocolate fill bun as he waited to get out, "Hmm, so Sora didn't show here at all." he had talked to a few students that were in today, and they said they hadn't seen him, though they could've just missed him.
When he found out that the Denisu Brothers, Azara, Ronald, Andy, the kids and Yuzu weren't around either, he made his way to the principal's room. Suddenly the elevator dinged, and the doors opened for him.
"Hey Principal, you wouldn't happen to know where everyone is, do y-" he stopped himself when he saw that Shuzo was not in his office, "Okay... getting creepier now." he muttered, "This isn't some kind of surprise party is it?" he asked himself looking around the room, "If it is, I don't think you guys know that the surprise is suppose to happen after something has happened." he said to nobody.
"Okay guys, I'm serious now! Come out now!" he raised his voice, but no response came, "Just what on earth happened?" he asked, just as he said this, the door opened, "I wonder! Just what could have happened?" a voice said, making Yuya look to see Nico Smiley standing by the door, "Nico? What are you doing here?" he asked, "I thought I was going to meet you, not the other way around." he asked.
"Good morning my boy, I hope you got a good night's rest?" Nico asked, "Yeah I did, but that's not important right now." Yuya waved it off, "What's important is where everybody is?" he said. "Oh, is that bothering you?" Nico asked, "Kinda, they said last night that we they would be here." he said.
"Oh look at the time." Nico looked to his watch, avoiding his question, "You should hurry, or you'll be late for your Duel!" he said, "Hey wait-" Nico stopped Yuya from going any further by dragging him into the elevator, "You know something, don't you?" he asked with a glare, "Who me? I haven't the faintest of clues as to what you're on about." Nico said. "Why you-" Yuya began, but the doors closed...
Gongenzaka Dojo (1 hour later)
As Yuya and Nico finally made it up the stair case, "Wait, don't tell me that my opponent is..." Yuya trailed off, not wanting to finish that question, "You can confirm that one yourself, if you want." was all Nico said to that.
The two then walked pass the entrance, when suddenly Gongenzaka appeared out of the building, "I was tired of waiting for you, Yuya!" Gongenzaka shouted from the other side of the courtyard.
"Nico!" Yuya whispered to him, "Why on earth did you go out of your way to make Gongenzaka my opponent?" he asked quietly, "It doesn't make sense, I've already faced him many times before." he added, "Ah, but that was different, right?" Nico said, "Different how?" Yuya asked, "You've never truly faced him before, have you?" Nico asked.
Yuya was about to retort to that, but then realised something, what the difference was, he thought back on Gongenzaka's Duel against Yaiba, "I was never truly his opponent during those matches." he thought.
"You should also know that I'm aware that he's your best friend." Nico added, seeing that he knew that Yuya had figured it out. "But even if you two are best friends, a real match against Duelists is a different matter altogether." he said. "Even more so, if you aiming to be a Pro!" he added.
"He's right Yuya!" Gongenzaka interrupted, "The two of us have fought countless times, but those Duels were not serious whatsoever!" he declared, "Back then, when you were still recovering from the hurt of your father's disappearance, I couldn't fault you for not taking it serious back then, so I didn't go serious either."
"But now I realize that pitying you only served to make not just you weak, but also me!" he shouted, "You... weak?" Yuya asked, "Yes, back in the third match of You Show vs LDS, I wasn't able to win, even though we were tied 1-1!" he said.
"But we didn't lose or win, we drew." Yuya said back, "No! To me, we lost, I couldn't win, because there was weakness in my heart." Gongenzaka said, "I didn't win it then, I should've let Nigel take the third Duel back then, because he wasn't weak, he knew he would've won that Duel." he said.
"By being unable to break away from my own softness, I couldn't win." he then took a pause, "So now I must push myself further in order to purge myself of such weakness." At this Nico cut in.
"And with this is mind, Gongenzaka-kun shockingly went so far as to bet his entry into Junior Youth Division of the Champion on this very fight!" he said, "Wait, you don't mean-" Yuya looked back at Gongenzaka, who nodded.
"That's right! I won match after match, until I was just one win away from meeting the 60% win record requirement." Gongenzaka declared "He then refused any further Duel challenges and waited until you, Yuya were also one win away from meeting the requirement!" Nico said.
"So basically, whoever wins this Duel, gets to enter the championship, while the other can't..." Yuya said, "Correct!" Nico said, "But why? Why go so far?" Yuya asked, "Because Yuya...," Yuya looked back to Gongenzaka, "I thought that if I didn't go so far, then I wouldn't get a serious match from you."
"Someday, I'll eventually inherit this dojo, so this Duel is also a test to hone my Steadfast Dueling!" he said. "So I'll set aside my pity and defeat you with all that I've got!" he declare shouted, "Because you're my best friend, and you deserve it!" he added. Meanwhile all Yuya could do was look torn...
"Have you not steeled your resolve yet, Yuya my boy?" Nico asked, Yuya and Gongenzaka stood before him and Gongenzaka senior, Gongenzaka's father, who were seated before them, the rest of the disciples of the dojo lined the sides of either Yuya or Gongenzaka.
"Well, that is understandable, after all, you have to now cut down the very man who's had your back for these last few years." Nico said, "If you can't, you won't be able to participate in the Junior Youth Division."
Yuya however looked around, but only saw the Dojo's disciples, and not any of his other friends, or Yuzu, or his mother could be seen. "Where is everyone at a time like this?" Yuya asked himself, "I know what you're thinking. "Just where is everyone?" Nico said, "Well, here's my reasoning. In order to become a pro, you first need the strength to fight alone." he said. Yuya was confused at this.
"Up until now, you have been protected by not only by Gongenzaka, but also by others. Who have always cheered you on, and encouraged you. Yuya then thought back on all those that supported him, Yuzu, his mother, the kids, Sora, Matthew, Nigel, Oliver, Azara, Ronald, Andy and many more.
"Being a pro means being able to display your own skills even if the cheer team is away, even if everyone is cheering for the enemy."
"And that is why I asked everyone in your cheer crew to take a leave of absence this time." Nico said
Meanwhile however, said cheer crew was closer than Yuya thought, they were in the adjoining room, watching from a live video display, everyone was there, some seated, others standing around Shuzo and the screen. "This will be their first serious match together." Shuzo said.
Ayu pouted cutely for a moment, "Why do we have to be back here again? Why can't we support Big Bro Yuya?" she asked.
"Because Ayu, Yuya needs to go through this experience." Azara told the young girl, "She's right Ayu." Matthew began, "Yuya needs to learn that we can't always be there for him, just as much as he can't be there for us all the time." he said,
"If we're there for all his matches and then miss one, then he may feel like he's been abandoned." Oliver continued, "So this is a way for Yuya to try and get past on leaning on our support then?" Ronald asked, "Yeah, if Yuya can win this, and not need to be encouraged, then it will help him immensely in the future, he won't get hung up if those important have other things to do." Shuzo explained
"'If'? What do you mean 'if'? Tatsuya asked, "Gongenzaka is no push over, and Yuya knows this, he's also happens to be Yuya's best friend, so there could be a chance that Yuya won't want to fight him. "Nigel said calmly, "Plus, there something Yuya doesn't know about Gongenzaka, like what he's been doing these past few days..." he thought.
Meanwhile Yuzu was being very quiet during all this, holding the Polymerization card that Yuya gave back to her yesterday, "Yuya..." she whispered.
"Well then, shall we begin, Master Gongenzaka?" Nico looked to Gongenzaka Senior, who hummed in agreement and rose to his feet. "Dueling is to polish one's soul! Diligently cultivating each other's character while possessing an immovable spirit no matter the circumstances." he said.
"This is the path our Gongenzaka Dojo travels upon!" he said, "You shall clash with each other fair and square in this fight. And I wish for you to polish each other's souls." he finished.
"Now! Action Field on!" he yelled, causing the ARC System to whirl to life, "The Action Field, Sword's Graveyard activate!" the battlefield materialised, after the process was over, Yuya notice something familiar about it.
"This field, its the one-" "That's right!" Gongenzaka cut Yuya off, "This field is the very same one that I fought Yaiba of LDS on." he said, "Why? Why pick this one!?" Yuya asked, "You'll soon find out why." was all he said on that.
"Let's go!" the two then activated their Duel Disk. "Duelist locked in battle!" Gongenzaka yelled, "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Yuya said, "They storm through the field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" the two said in unison
"ACTION..." the bubble with the action cards then popped, scattering the cards about the Field.
"DUEL!" the two yelled drawing five cards each.

"I'll take the first turn!" Gongenzaka said taking a card from his Hand. "From my Hand I Normal Summon Superheavy Samurai Flutist!" Appearing on his field was a mechanical purple flute player, playing its namesake.
Superheavy Samurai Flutist: EARTH, Level: 3 [Machine/Effect] ATK/500 DEF/1000
"I now activate Flutist's effect! By tributing it..." Flutist was tributed, "I can Special Summon 1 Superheavy Samurai monster from my Hand!" he sent Flutist's card to the Graveyard. "I Special Summon Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei!" at the moment, the colossal steam powered machine warrior appeared with a crash.
Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei: EARTH, Level: 8 [Machine/Effect] ATK/1000 DEF/3500
"And with this I end my turn! Now come at me, Yuya!" he declared to his friend- no, his opponent. All the while Yuya looked on silently as this happened.
Gong's Hand x 3
Turn 2
Watching from behind the scenes, the kids were in awe. "Wow! A Level 8 right off the bat!" Tatsuya said, "Looks like Gong is going all out for this." Sora said licking his treat. Ronald gave him a look as he rolled his eyes, "That's the reason Gongenzaka wanted to be Yuya's opponent you moron!" he said, of course he knew he would get a glare in return... "Worth it!" he thought grinning.
"Both of their entries into the Junior Youth Division are on the line with this Duel." Shuzo began, "Now while I want Gongenzaka to win, seeing that he's done so much for us... But on the other hand..." he began, "We get where you're going with this Principal." Oliver said sweat dropping, due to the fact that right behind Shuzo was Yuzu, about to put her fan away, as she knew her father would start shouting, so he just saved her the time and Shuzo a whacking by cutting him off.
"I wonder if Yuya will respond to Gongenzaka's fighting spirit?" Andy asked, "He's going to have to if he wants to get into the championship." Matthew said, "The only problem is, will he..." Azara asked worried for both Gongenzaka and Yuya.
"Looks like we're about to find out that answer." Nigel quietly said.
"Damn it! Why... Why does my most important match have to be against Gongenzaka?" Yuya asked himself, having yet to make a move, "It's because of him that I can even stand here right now, as most of my matches were against his fellow students."
"And now... now I have to defeat one of the few people that supported me throughout these last few years and make him unable to compete this year." he said this out loud. "How dare you!" Gongenzaka yelled snapping Yuya out of his thoughts.
"Pitying your opponent so much is the same as disrespecting them!" he told Yuya. "I'll say this once again, Yuya, it's because you are my best friend that I will use all of my strength to defeat you!" he shouted, "And I expect the same courtesy from you to me!" he added.
"You need to throw away those meaningless feelings, and face me with all you've got!" he finished. At first, Yuya was quiet, taking all of this in, until he narrowed his eyes, and nodded. "My turn! I draw!" he drew his card.
"I activate the Spell, No Pendulum!" the card appeared, showing the Pendulum rift, but it was somewhat weaker. "If I control no monsters, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Pendulum Monster from my Deck in Attack!" a card was ejecting from his Deck. "I Summon Jungle Claw Magician!" the wild magician appeared with a howl.
Jungle Claw Magician: DARK, Level: 4 [Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect] ATK/ 1800 DEF/700, PS: 6
"Since a Magician was Normal or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon this card! Appear! Magician's Supporter!" a young man dressed like a beginner adventure, wearing minimal leather armour, and carrying a staff appeared.
Magician's Supporter: DARK, Level: 4 [Warrior/Effect] ATK/1200 DEF/1000
"When he's Special Summoned, I can add a Magician monster from my Deck to my Hand!" he added his choice. "Now I tribute Magician's Supporter to Tribute Summon Magician's Leader!" A giant man of a wizard wearing a dark black magician robe and carrying a long tree trunk as a magic staff appeared.
Magician's Leader: DARK, Level: 6 [Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect] ATK/2200 DEF/1000, PS: 7
"Leader gains 100 ATK for every Magician monster I control!" Leader's ATK: 2200 + 100 = 2300 "Let's go!" Yuya took off, with his monsters following after him. Jungle Claw on all fours, and as he drew close to Yuya, he jumped onto him. "There!" as they passed an Action Card on the floor, Yuya swiped it up.
He then looked at it, "Perfect!" he then played the card, "I activate the Action Spell, Extreme Sword!" he shouted, "I select Jungle Claw, who will gain 1000 when battling a monster this turn!" Jungle Claw's ATK: 1800 + 1000 = 2800 He then made Jungle Claw turn to the side, where they eventually found another Action card on the floor, which he then picked up also.
"I can use this as well! I activate the Action Spell, Oversword!" he used his second Action card, "Jungle Claw's ATK increases by 500 when he battles!" 2800 + 500 = 3300 (Jungle Claw) the two then came to a stop, with Yuya jumping off his companion.
"Battle! Jungle Claw attacks Big Benkei!" Jungle Claw howled as he ran on all fours at his target, "At this moment, Jungle Claw's effect activates! Its ATK increases by 400, as does all other Magicians or Spellcaster-Type monsters I control!" 3300 + 400 = 3700 (Jungle Claw) 2300 + 400 = 2700 (Leader) At this, Jungle Claw was surrounded by a blue fiery aura.
"Yay! If this goes through, Jungle Claw can attack again with its effect, and then Leader can attack Gong directly!" Ayu said
"By sending Superheavy Samurai Soul Fire Armour from my Hand to the Graveyard,..." Gong began sending the mentioned card to his Graveyard. "I can use its effect!" Soul Fire Armour appeared before Big Benkei, "I can negate Big Benkei's destruction!" Soul Fire Armour created a huge red forcefield, which fended off Jungle Claw's attack, sending the monster back to Yuya.
"Because its destruction was negated by this effect, Big Benkei loses 800 DEF!" Big Benkei's DEF: 3500 - 800 = 2700
"And at the end of the damage step, Jungle Claw's effect and the effects of the two Action Cards end, returning its ATK and Leader's ATK to normal" Yuya said, 3700 = 1800 (Jungle Claw) 2700 = 2300 (Leader)
"I set three cards and end my turn." three face-downs appeared by Yuya, before fading.

Turn 3
"Hmm, Yuya on the offensive, while Gongenzaka on the defense, that went as I expected." Nico said to Gongenzaka Senior, "Indeed, no matter how the opponent may move about, one must always hold a steadfast stance." he said, "And that is the fundamental fighting style of our Dojo!" he added. "Well done Gongenzaka! As expected of the successor of my dojo!" he congratulated his son, but not for being his son, but as his student who had earned it.
"Now pierce through the Junior Youth Division with your Steadfast Dueling!" he yelled to his son, who smiled back.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, father. The match hasn't been playing for long, and I haven't even broken a sweat or reached my full strength!" Gong told his father.
This had Yuya worried, he knew that Gongenzaka had barely done a thing, which meant he could go even further, "The only problem is... how much further can he go?..." Yuya thought as he watched Gongenzaka, "He's hiding something, something that he really wants to show me..." And it looked like he was going to see what that something was, right now!
"My turn! I draw!" Gong yelled drawing his card, sending a gale at Yuya as he did, he then flipped over his card to see what it was, and it was just what he wanted. "It's here!" he grinned and looked to Yuya who tensed up at this.
"I, the man, Gongenzaka, have cast off my shell and steeled my heart to defeat my friend." he muttered to himself, but everyone could hear him still.
"I think Gongenzaka is about to put on a show for us..." Oliver said nervously as the three brothers knew exactly what Gong meant, "Huh? What do you mean?" Ronald asked.
He never got his answer, "Watch this, father! For this is the new Steadfast Dueling that I aspire to create!" Gong took his drawn card and placed it on his blade, "I Normal Summon the Level 2 Tuner monster, Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" a small red mechanical warrior with a trumpet the shape of a sea shell appeared, blowing its instrument.
Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter: EARTH, Level: 2 [Machine/Tuner/Effect] ATK/ 300 DEF/600
Upon seeing the monster, Gongenzaka Senior, Yuya and the hidden group, minus the three brothers were shocked at what was Summoned. "I-I-Is t-that real-ly a T-Tuner monster!?" Andy sputtered out, "If it is, than that means..." Sora said, "He's going to Synchro Summon!" Shuzo said, shocking the kids.
"And now! I Tune the Level 2 Trumpeter to Level 8 Big Benkei!" Gong yelled out, Trumpeter then took the skies and blew its instrument, before turning into two green rings, which enveloped Big Benkei, making its lose its colours, and reveal eight shining stars. "Raging deity, in unison with the roar of a thousand blades. Come forth in a spiralling sandstorm!" Gong yelled as a beam of light pierced through the rings and stars.

"Synchro Summon!" Gong took his card as it was ejected from his Extra Deck and placed it on his blade, "Come before us! Level 10! Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!" sitting before them now was a huge mechanical steam powered warrior, garbed like that of a warlord, and carrying a giant sword with a long handle, a blue aura surrounded the mighty monster.
Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo: EARTH, Level: 10 [Machine/Synchro/Effect] ATK/2400 DEF/3800
"No way... Gong can Synchro Summon!?" Yuya said to himself shocked, "My word!" Nico said smiley, Gong's father was still in shock, "So this must be the reason Gongenzaka went out of his way to pick this field." Yuya thought "But that's not all!" Gongenzaka said stomping his foot into the ground.
"Its not!?" Yuya asked shocked again, "When a Superheavy Samurai monster is sent to the Graveyard or banished, I can Special Summon this card!" Gong took another card from his Hand. "Appear, Superheavy Samurai Wielder!" a dark purple mechanical warrior appeared, wielding what appeared to be two blowtorches on its wrist, connected to the two gas tanks on its back.
Superheavy Samurai Wielder: EARTH, Level: 3 [Machine/Effect] ATK/1000 DEF/1600
"That's the monster Gong showed us last night!" Oliver said, but then slapped a hand over his mouth as the others looked at him, "Hold on! You three knew about this!?" Yuzu asked as the stared at the brothers, "Yeah, Gongenzaka approached us last night..." Matthew said rubbing the back of his neck. "When was this?" Azara asked accusingly.
"Just after we had dropped you off at your apartment." Nigel answered, remembering what Gongenzaka had requested off them, more specifically his brothers than him.
Back with Gongenzaka, he was getting ready to do more, "Wielder's effect activates! When Special Summoned, I can send it and Superheavy Samurai monsters from my Hand or Field to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon!" he said making Yuya flinch, "F-Fusion!?"
"I now Fuse Wielder and Superheavy Samurai Scales from my Hand!" Scales appeared on the Field, at this Wielder and Scales glowed green and orange. "Impenetrable wall, come before me in my time of need!" the two then swirled together into a vortex. "Fusion Summon! Appear Level 8! Superheavy Samurai Sumo Kazuhiro!"
Appearing from a pillar of steam was a new steam powered mechanical monster, this one more thicker, and looked somewhat like a true sumo, wearing a proper mawashi, but made of metal, and sporting additional armour plating on its legs and shoulders. As it took its stance, steam erupted from its joints. A blue aura enveloped it, meaning it was in Defense Position.
Superheavy Samurai Sumo Kazuhiro: EARTH, Level: 8 [Machine/Fusion/Effect] ATK/1400 DEF/3200
"A Fusion Summon as well!" Andy said shocked, as was Ronald. The lot looked to Oliver, and then Matthew, the two older teens sweating at the staring, "He asked us to teach him the basics of Fusion and Xyz, he had already understood Synchro Summon from another source." Matthew explained to their staring.
"I can't believe it, he can Synchro and Fusion Summon..." Yuya thought nervously at the sight of the two powerful monsters Gongenzaka controlled "Not just that, he may be even able to Xyz Summon too! This just got even worse for me."
"Here we go, Yuya! From here on out, this will be the real match!" Gongenzaka yelled out, about to carry on his turn.
"Now for Susanowo to attack-" "Stop the match!" Gongenzaka was stopped midway, by his own father, the two Duelist looked to where he was rising to his feet, "That's enough!" he added. "My son, Noboru, has lost the match!" he declared, shocking Yuya, and the lot in the viewing room.
"What? Gongenzaka's actual name is Noboru?!" Andy asked, at this the kids gave him flat stares. "What?" he asked honestly confused with their stares.
"Steadfast Dueling means that having an immovable spirit is crucial." Gongenzaka Senior explained, "So from the moment you stole those techniques in order to win, you lost the Duel!" he explained. Hopefully his student would see the error in his way-
"That's where you're wrong, father!" Gongenzaka said, shocking his father, "I didn't steal them, I requested instruction!" he revealed, "Instructions... So that's means..." Yuya looked at Susanowo, "For Synchro Summoning, I sought out, Yaiba, of LDS!" Gong said, hearing this, Yuya was flabbergasted, he thought Gong would've gone to Nigel, an expert, and close friend of theirs. Not someone that he saw as an enemy at some point.
"Why? Why go to someone who caused you to suffer!?" Yuya asked, "If there is a need to learn, I will graciously request instruction, even from the enemy." He then looked down, "Besides, I feel like I failed Nigel, by not winning that Duel back then." Hearing this, Nigel began to listen carefully.
"I demanded that I, the man, Gongenzaka, would take his place, and fight Yaiba to save your school, and he put his faith in me... But I failed, so I decided I had no right to request instructions from someone I let down." he said, Nigel however was upset at hearing Gongenzaka's own thoughts about what occurred.
"So the Fusion was from Oliver?" Yuya looked to Kazuhiro, at which Gongenzaka nodded, "And Xyz from Matthew!" Yuya flinched at hearing his confirmation to Xyz Summoning. "Father, I didn't learn Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Summoning just to win, but to bring forth a new horizon to Steadfast Dueling!" hearing this Gong's father perked up, interested.
"In order to bring forth a new Steadfast Dueling...?" his father repeated, "Dueling evolves everyday. So in order to not be left behind in the old era, even the stationary Steadfast Dueling must evolve in someway." his father seemed to consider his son's words.
"But if you're still not conceived, then save your judgements on my decision until after you witness this match!" Gongenzaka then turned back to Yuya,
"Susanowo can attack while in face-up Defense, using its DEF for damage calculation!" Gong explained, hearing this, Yuya ran onto Jungle Claw, who took off running. "Battle! Susanowo will attack Jungle Claw Magician!" Susanowo then raised its weapon above its head.
with Yuya, he and Jungle Claw ran past an Action Card, which Yuya picked up, "I activate the Action Spell, Evasion! Susanowo's attack is negated!" Yuya used up his card, "Not good enough! I now use Susanowo's effect! During either turn and there are no Spell or Trap cards in my Graveyard, I can pay 500 LP!" Gongenzaka did just that. Gongenzaka's LP: 4000 - 500 = 3500
"I can activate a Spell or Trap from your Graveyard!" he said, shocking everyone with this, "But the only cards in my Graveyard are-" Yuya began, "That's right, I now activate the Action Spell, Oversword from your Graveyard!" Gongenzaka said. At this the crowd was shocked.
"No way! he's actually using an Action Card..." "Without actually using one..." Azara and Matthew said in that order.
"When the monster affected by Oversword is attacking, it gains 500 ATK!" Susanowo's ATK: 2400 + 500 = 2900 "But Susanowo is in Defense? It won't make a difference if its in Attack" Futoshi said, "True, but Oversword has an addition effect, which is what he's actually after." Ronald said.
"The monster affected by Oversword can also not have its attack negated!" Gong said, as Susanowo's attack continued, "At this moment, Kazuhiro's effect activates!" he shouted, "When a Superheavy Samurai monster is attacking, you cannot activate card effects until the end of that attack!" Yuya gasped as he looked down at his face-downs.
With nothing to stop it, Susanowo's attack hit Jungle Claw, destroying it, and sending Yuya backwards a couple metres. Yuya's LP: 4000 - 2000 = 2000
"Yuya!" Yuzu cried out, "Man, that Fusion monster is a difficult card to get by with that effect, you basically can't save yourself with it on the Field." Matthew concluded.
"Now for Kazuhiro to attack Leader!" Kazuhiro raised one of its legs, and slammed it down onto the ground, creating a fissure that headed right for the Leader, who looked down, just in time to see a geyser erupt beneath him, destroying him.
However, Yuya was fine, as one of his face-downs was flipped up. "The Trap, Defense Draw!" he said, "Not only does its make battle damage 0, but I also draw a card!" he drew a card.
"I end my turn!" Gong said, folding his arms, "And with it ending, Kazuhiro's additional effect activates! At the end of the turn that Superheavy Samurai monsters destroy your monsters by battle, I can draw one card per Superheavy Samurai that destroyed a monster. So I draw two cards!" he drew that many cards.

"Well done!" Nico clapped for Gongenzaka, "He made use of his new Synchro and Fusion monsters, as well as his knowledge of Action Cards beautifully!" he looked to Gongenzaka's father, who looked on at the Duel. "Wouldn't you say it's truly the birth of a new Steadfast Dueling?" he asked him, who just hummed in thought.
With Yuya, he was slowly getting back to his feet, "That was..." he began, "Amazing!" he exclaimed "I'm shocked, not only have you mastered Synchro, but also Fusion, and maybe even Xyz, in such a short span of time..." he smiled at his opponent.
"But now that you've shown me this, I can't afford to lose this Duel! My turn! I draw!" he then drew his card, and looked at it, "This will do nicely..." he thought, he then ran off, going for an Action Card.
"Its a shame Yuya can't bring out that monster from yesterday..." Ayu said, "Yeah, that dragon would definitely turn the tides in his favour." Tatsuya said, "Hold on, what are you kids on about?" Shuzo asked, meanwhile Yuzu looked down at the card she was holding.
Back with Yuya, he had just grabbed an Action Card that was sticking out of a crack. "I send this Action Card to the Graveyard to activate the Spell, Pendulum Call! Which lets me add two Magicians from my Deck to my Hand!" he added his two choices.
"Now I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 2 Blazing Touch Magician, and Scale 11 Freezing Touch Magician!" he placed the cards onto his blade, lighting it up.
Two blue pillars then appeared on each side of Yuya, in one of them was a male magician wearing red magical robes, trimmed with gold and amber jewels embedded in the sleeve wrists. He also wore red leather boots, and had some light green cloth around his waist, kept there by a belt with a belt buckle with an emerald gem fitted at the centre of it. Carried in its right hand was a long staff that looked like a torch pot, with a blazing fire floating on it. Underneath it was the number 2, and this was Blazing Touch Magician.
In the other pillar was a female magician, wearing similar robes to Blazing Touch Magician, but the red was replaced with dark blue, the trimming was silver, and gem sleeves purple, and the cloth underneath her robes were yellow, she also had a staff, but resting on top of it was ice blue crystal of a snowflake. Underneath her was the number 11, and this was Freezing Touch Magician.

"A scale of 11!? That's insane!" Andy said shocked.
"I can now simultaneously Summon monsters Levels 3 through 10, all at the same time! Sway, Pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether!" he chanted as the rift opened up between the pillars. "Pendulum Summon! Come forth my monsters!" erupting out of the rift were three lights. "Appear Jungle Claw Magician, Magician's Leader, and Odd-Eyes Punishment Dragon!" the two sent to the Extra Deck appeared on the Field in Defense, as well as Punishment Dragon with a roar.
Odd-Eyes Punishment Dragon: DARK, Level: 7 [Dragon/Pendulum/Effect] ATK/2500 DEF/1800, PS: 1
"Yeah! A Pendulum Summon!" Shuzo cheered out, as if it was still cool to do something like that, after it has been done so many times before. "But why did he summon them all in Defense for?" Tatsuya asked.
"Seeing that Susanowo's DEF is 3800, Yuya doesn't have anything that can overpower it at the moment." Sora said, "Hence why he summoned them all in Defense." Yuzu added.
"But that doesn't mean he can't do anything about it." Matthew added, looking at Punishment Dragon.
"I now activate Punishment Dragon's effect! Once per turn, when you control a monster whose ATK is equal or lower than its ATK, I can destroy that monster, and deal you damage equal to half that destroyed monster's ATK! Punishing Force!" Yuya shouted as Punishment Dragon took aim and charged a yellow ball of energy, "I select Susanowo!" the dragon released its charge, which was sent hurling at the Warlord.
"I won't allow you to do that! Kazuhiro's effect!" Gongenzaka yelled out, "Now what!?" Yuya shouted, not expecting this, "When a Superheavy Samurai monster is targeted for an effect you activate while there are no Spell or Traps in my Graveyard, I can send Kazuhiro to the Graveyard to negate the effect!" Kazuhiro then disappeared into the dark portal, this in turn dissolved Punishment Dragon's effect. "Kazuhiro will then return to the Field at the end of the next turn." he added.
"So he was ready for that as well..." Yuya thought, "I end my turn with a face-down..." he reluctantly said, having nothing else to do, "I could've Summoned my other Fusion monster, but it couldn't have gotten past Susanowo..." he thought.

"So in the end, all he did was make his defense stronger." Matthew sighed out.
"Yuya! Even if you try and build up your defense, it won't matter! You have no time left!" Gongenzaka declared, "My turn! I draw!" he drew his card, sending a gust of wind at Yuya.
"I Normal Summon Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer!" a bulky blue crossbow appeared on the Field.
Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer: EARTH, Level: 4 [Machine/Effect] ATK/1200 DEF/0
"I then use its effect to equip it onto Susanowo!" Soulpiercer then locked itself onto Susanowo's right wrist, which then fused itself to the arm. "With Soulpiercer equipped, Susanowo can now deal piercing battle damage!" he explained at his opponent gasped "Are you serious!?" Yuya yelled.
"Battle! Susanowo attack Jungle Claw!" the bow pulled back its string, "Fire!" Gong yelled as Soulpiercer let loss its shot, Yuya then leaped forward and snatched an Action Card that was right in front of him and roll back to his feet. "I activate the Action Spell, Miracle! Not only is Jungle Claw not destroyed, but battle damage it halved!" the shot hit a barrier that protected Jungle, but the same could not be said for Yuya. 2000 - 1550 = 450 (Yuya)
"I end my turn!" Gongenzaka said. "With it ending, Kazuhiro now returns from my Graveyard." Kazuhiro once again appeared on the Field.
"Man, Gongenzaka literally needs to make a single move, and it could end Yuya instantly." Azara said worried. "Now Yuya has only 450 LP, a huge difference against Gongenzaka's LP of 3500." Oliver said, "That and he only has a single card on him. So the next card he draws will either help or crush his chances of winning." Ronald added.

"Wow Gongenzaka, I must say, you sure are something else." Yuya said smiling, "Does that mean you admit defeat? That you surrender?" Gongenzaka asked sternly, "No, if I am to lose, than you should be the one to deal the finishing blow, I have no right to take that from you..." Yuya said, "But, that's not going to happen! Because right now, I'm going to go all out! My turn! I draw!" he drew his card.
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Pendulum Draw!" the card showed three Pendulum Monsters, each standing atop of a face-down card, with trails showing that they came from the Deck that was in the background. "I tribute any number of Pendulum Monsters on my Field..." he tributed all of his monsters, "To draw cards equal to the number of tributed monsters!" he drew three cards. "Doing this mean that Pendulum Monsters I control cannot declare an attack this turn!"
"Then I activate No Pendulum's effect from the Graveyard! I banish it to add a Pendulum Monster from my Deck to my Hand!" he added another card to his Hand. No Pendulum was banished.
"Sweet! He went from zero cards to four that fast!" Ayu cheered!"
"And now! I once again Pendulum Summon!" the rift opened again, this time four light spilled out of it, "Appear Tri-Strike Magician! Return! Punishment Dragon and the new star of the show! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Appearing was Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, as well as a new Magician. He was of median height, and wore a high-tech set of wizard robes. Across its robes were many different coloured triangle gems. In its hand were two triangle daggers.

Tri-Strike Magician: EARTH, Level: 4 [Spellcaster/Effect] ATK/1600 DEF/800
"He's got Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon out!" Tatsuya cheered, "Still can't get over Susanowo or Kazuhiro though..." Sora said.
"I now activate the effect of Nobledragon Magician from my Hand!" Yuya revealed a card in his Hand, "When I control a Level 7 or higher Odd-Eyes monster, I can target 1 of them, reduce its Level by 3 and to Special Summon it! I select Punishment Dragon!" Punishment Dragon's Level: 7 - 3 = 4
"Now appear! Nobledragon Magician!" Appearing on the Field was a young girl wearing what appeared to be cleric robes, which were mostly white, with purple underneath. She also held a two-prong staff.
Nobledragon Magician: FIRE, Level: 3 [Spellcaster/Pendulum/Tuner/Effect] ATK/700 DEF/1400 PS: 5
"Is that a Tuner!?" Gongenzaka yelled out, shocking everyone but Azara, Andy, and the brothers, "Oh this is getting good!" Oliver grinned out.
"That's right! Just as you wish to improve your Steadfast Dueling, I will also evolve my Pendulum Summoning!" Yuya declared, throwing a hand up "I now Tune the Level 3 Nobledragon Magician to the Level 4 Tri-Strike Magician!" Upon this command, Nobledragon shot into the air, and turned into three green rings, at which Tri-Strike jumped into them, lost its colours and gained 4 stars.

"Dragon of the cosmos, come crashing down before me in a blaze of glory!" the rings and stars then lined up, right before being pierced by a green beam. "Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 7! Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon!" from the sky came a meteor, which landed right behind Yuya, from the smoke appeared was Dragon similar to Pendulum Dragon, but its scale armour was a darker red. It had no wings, but instead it had four spines, which then erupted in fire, creating four blazing wings of fire, two of them on the right side were an emerald green fire, its body was very streamline, and as its name implied, it also has two different coloured eyes, its left eye was a deep blue, and its other was glowing red.
Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon: FIRE, Level: 7 [Dragon/Synchro/Effect] ATK/2500 DEF/2000
"OH MY GOD! YUYA JUST DID A SYN-" Shuzo was cut off by being slapped across the head by Yuzu's fan. "Shut up you, or Yuya will hear us!" Yuzu shouted, just a loud as her father, "Kind of being hypocritical there, aren't we?" Oliver muttered.
"I can't believe Yuya just Synchro Summoned..." Sora gasped out, "Not just that, it was a Pendulum Synchro Summon!" Matthew said, "Oh, kind of like what he did yesterday!" Ayu said, this alerted Shuzo. "Yesterday!? What did he do then!" he asked, quieter this time.
"Meteorburst Dragon's effect activates! When Special Summoned, I can target a card in my Pendulum Zone, and Special Summon it!" He then pointed to Freezing Touch Magician. "I Summon Freezing Touch Magician!" Yuya took the card from the Pendulum Zone and placed it on a monster zone of his blade, this caused Freezing Touch to appeared next to Punishment Dragon.
Freezing Touch Magician: WATER, Level: 2 [Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect] ATK/700 DEF/1300, PS:11
"However, Meteorburst Dragon cannot declare an attack this turn." he said, "And now I place Scale 2 Sand Spear Magician in the Pendulum Zone!" he then placed his last card into the Left Pendulum Zone, completing the Scale once again. Taking Freezing Touch's place was a young man, dressed like a sand bandit appeared, carried in one hand was a spear, the tip on which was a drill piece.

"What is Yuya thinking? Now he can't Pendulum Summon anymore!" Sora said, "That won't do you any good Yuya, not only are your Dragon's not strong enough, but now you're limited!" Gong said.
"Wrong, I'm far from done! I now activate Blazing Touch Magician's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, I can activate one of two effects!" Yuya said as a card was ejected from his Deck, "I choose to add a Polymerization or Fusion card from my Deck to my Hand!" he said taking the card and showing it. "Fusion!?" Gongenzaka shouted, shocking Yuzu and Sora.
"No way! Yuya's gonna Fusion Summon!" Sora cheered out excited, meanwhile Ronald growled to himself, "The card I added was Odd-Eyes Fusion! Which I now activate!" Yuya then placed the card in his Duel Disk, signalling it activation. "I now fuse Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, and Freezing Touch Magician!" this confused Sora.
"Wait, that isn't the Fusion Material for that Dragon..." Sora muttered, "What dragon are you on about?!" Shuzo asked, frustrated at nobody telling him anything, "Am I invisible or something!?" he shouted, "Nope, we can hear you loud and clear..." Oliver said, rubbing his ear to stop the ringing, seeing that he was the closest to Shuzo.
"Dual eyed coloured dragon of power, become one with the being whose very touch freezes all around her to bring about a new power!" Odd-Eyes and Freezing Touch both glowed red and blue respectively and then swirled together into the vortex, creating a bright light. "Fusion Summon! Appear! Dragon as swift as the winds! Level 7! Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon!"
Appearing from a vortex of wind was another Odd-Eyes dragon, this one was dark green in colour, with the outside of its plating scales being white, in place of its horn spikes were four green wing frames, the actual wings were made up of green wind energy. Fitted onto it each was a coloured gem, the top two were red and orange, the bottom two were yellow and purple. Like Odd-Eyes, its eye were different, it right eye was red, and the other was blue. It was also floating above the ground.
Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon: WIND, Level: 7 [Dragon/Fusion/Effect] ATK/2500 DEF/3000
Upon seeing both Dragons, Yuzu gasped, "Those monsters, now I remember, those were Yuya's lost cards!" she said, "Lost?! Are you saying Yuya had these monster all along!?" Shuzo said, "That's right!" Yuko spoke up, "Yuya hide them after his father disappeared..." Yuko said, having heard the conversation Yuya and his friends had in his room last night.
"They must have reminded him that Yusho disappeared, and he didn't want to be reminded of that anymore..." the others looked down, feeling sad for Yuya, "But time heals all wounds..." she then looked the screen, focusing on Yuya, "I think he's alright now. And this will be prove of that." she smiled.
"Well done my boy!" Nico clapped for Yuya, "You've done it again! You've gone past my expectations and beyond!" he said, "Thanks, but hold your applause until after the Duel!" Yuya threw his hand. "Blazing Touch Magician's Pendulum Effect! Fusion Summoned monsters gain 500 ATK until the end of the turn they're Summoned!" Vortex Dragon's ATK: 2500 + 500 = 3000
"Now I activate Vortex Dragon's effect! When Special Summoned, I can target a face-up monster you control, and return it to your Hand!" Vortex Dragon started to create a gale around itself. "I select Susanowo!" Vortex then launched the gale at Susanowo. "I won't let you! Kazuhiro's effect! Since there are no Spell or Traps in my Graveyard, I can send Kazuhiro to the Graveyard to negate that effect!" Kazuhiro was once again sent to the Graveyard, the gale was extinguished.
"Just as I thought you would do!" Yuya said, "What!?" Gongenzaka gasped out, "I activate Tri-Strike Magician's effect from the Graveyard! I target 1 monster I control, banish Tri-Strike..." Tri-Strike was banished, "Now Vortex Dragon can make two more attacks this turn!" he said, "Three attacks!?" Gongenzaka exclaimed, but then calmed down, "But Vortex still isn't strong enough!" he added.
"But it will be soon! Battle! Vortex Dragon, attack Susanowo!" Yuya then jumped onto Vortex Dragon, who roared, "At this moment, I activate Sand Spear Magician's Pendulum Effect! I target Vortex Dragon, who when battling a monster, that monster's DEF is lowered by 800, and let's Vortex Dragon deal piercing battle damage!" this made Gongenzaka flinch slightly. Susanowo's DEF: 3800 - 800 = 3000
"Go! Gale Force Burst!" Yuya yelled as Vortex fired a green beam of energy, mixed with wind at Susanowo, "It's pointless! Even if Vortex Dragon can declare two more attacks, its ATK of 3000 is matched by Susanowo's DEF of now 3000!" Gong said.
"I wonder about that..." Yuya said, "Huh?" Gongenzaka got out confused, "As you know, Tri-Strike Magician has added two more attacks onto Vortex..." Yuya began, "But did you know that Sand Spear's Pendulum Effect is in affect for all its battles, not it first!" he said, shocking Gongenzaka.
"So that means, every time Vortex Dragon attacks, Susanowo will lose 800 DEF, and since it will be lower during the next attack..." Matthew began, "That means Yuya can destroy Susanowo!" Futoshi said, "But Gongenzaka can still do something to stop that." Nigel said.
"The second attack!" Yuya yelled, as Sand Spear's effect took place again, 3000 - 800 = 2200 (Susanowo) "Vortex Dragon, attack Susanowo again!" Vortex then released another beam.
"I pay 500 LP to activate Susanowo's effect to let me activate the effect of the Action Spell, Evasion from your Graveyard!" 3500 - 500 = 3000 (Gongenzaka) "This negates that attack!" 2200 = 3000 (Susanowo) The beam was slashed apart by Susanowo's huge weapon.
"Huh? Why did Susanowo's DEF go up?" Ayu asked, "Since the attack was negated, the Pendulum Effect of Sand Spear was removed for that battle. "Ronald explained.
"Great tactics! Well done Noboru!" Gong's father yelled, "Seems like Gongenzaka's dad is over that little issue." Andy commented.
"This is it! The third attack! Vortex Dragon, attack Susanowo for the last time!" Yuya yelled as Vortex gave a mighty roar, and charged its final attack. Sand Spear's Pendulum Effect! Susanowo loses 800 DEF!" 3000 - 800 = 2200 (Susanowo)
"Fire!" Vortex then released its attack, this time Susanowo was destroyed by the attack, the shock hitting Gongenzaka. 3000 - 800 = 2200 (Gongenzaka)
"Yes!", "He finally...", "Destroyed Susanowo!" Ayu, Tatsuya and Futoshi said in that order, "Well I'll be..." Matthew grinned out.
"That's nothing!" Gongenzaka yelled, taking a card from his Hand, "I send Superheavy Samurai Soulbeads from my Hand to the Graveyard to activate its effect!" he sent the card to the Graveyard. Appearing on the Field was a monster that resembled a soul bead accessory, suddenly Susanowo's hand reach out from a dark portal, grabbed the Soul beads, and pulled itself out. "When a Defense Position monster is destroyed, I can Special Summon it in Attack!" he said. "Soulpiercer's effect! When sent to the Graveyard from the Graveyard, I can add 1 Superheavy Samurai monster from my Deck to my Hand!" he added his choice.
"Brilliant Tactics again! Nice recovery, Noboru!" his father applauded.
"And to think, he did all that, just for Gongenzaka to easily bring it back." Nigel sighed out, "And if Yuya can't end it this turn, Gongenzaka will wipe out the rest of his LP." Sora said. "Oh god, this duel is really intense!" Shuzo rubbed his collar, sweating, profoundly. "I can't stand this! Let's go!" Ayu said to the other two, "Right!" they agreed, and the three ran for the door.
"Hold on you three!" Matthew raced after to stopped them, as did the others, "You three, you can't-" "It's fine!" Yuko cut Yuzu off, the second lot looking at her confused, "Yuya is completely focused on the Duel, he's gotten past the wall of needing support." she told her, "She's got a point, Yuya is totally in the zone." Ronald said getting up and walking after the others, "Hey wait up!" Andy ran after him.
"Well if everyone else is going..." Sora and Shuzo then got up and followed, and so did Yuko, who looked back at Yuzu, "You coming?" she asked, "Oh, yeah..." Yuzu then followed her out.
Back with Yuya, he was frustrated, "No! I've come so close, I can't lose this now!" he thought, "But... This Duel, its amazing! For the first time in my life, I'm having an honest to goodness Duel against Gongenzaka, and I really want to win, not just because my chance at entering the championship is on the line, but because Gongenzaka deserves to experience my full power!" he thought smiling, which Gongenzaka saw.
"You truly are a wall, Gongenzaka!" he said, lifting his goggles up, "A huge wall in front of me that is barring my way." Gong looked on as he talked, "You know what that means right? It means that I won't be able to beat you without going past my current limits!" he then looked down his face-downs. "And in order to do that, I need to use that card..."
"I now activate the Trap, Extra Recall!" one of his face-downs flipped up, "I can only activate this card while I control a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck!" he then jumped off of Vortex, "I activate one of two effect, the first, which lets me return Vortex Dragon to my Extra Deck and Special Summon one of its Material from wherever it was sent to!" Vortex Dragon burst into particles, returning to the Extra Deck, He then took a card out of his Extra Deck. "I Summon back Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!
Odd-Eyes once again took to the Field, "Alright partner, let's do this!" he roared out as Yuya jumped onto his back, "High ho Odd-Eyes!" Yuya shouted as Odd-Eyes took off running.
Just then the kids, followed by the rest had made their way into the room, "Good luck!" the three shouted as the others filled, "You know, Yuya only has Action Cards to rely on now." Sora said, "He's right, he has nothing that can get out Chaos-Eyes at the moment, but the second he ends his turn..." Matthew said, "It's game over!" Azara said.
Gongenzaka continued to watch as Yuya and Odd-Eyes ran about looking for Action Cards, but he knew that Yuya had used up the ones that were near him, but he himself had spotted one, long ago...
The only problem? It was resting in a dead tree... on the other side of a gigantic gorge! "He's not thinking..." Gongenzaka thought nervously, if Yuya spotted it, then- "There!" Yuya declared, spotting the card that Gongenzaka had seen, shocking him, Odd-Eyes then sped up, "No Yuya, don't!" Gongenzaka yelled hoping to stop him.
The others were also shocked, "Is he crazy! Odd-Eyes won't make that jump!" Oliver shouted, "Yuya!" Yuzu cried out, but Yuya didn't hear a thing, other then the pumping of his own heartbeat.
"I'll break through my own limits!" Yuya declared just as Odd-Eyes reached the cliff side and leaped "Here we go!" he roared, "Yuya!" everyone cried out.
"Closer... Closer..." Yuya thought as they got closer to the other side, but he noticed that Odd-Eyes wasn't going to make it. "Sorry about this buddy!" he said, "Wait what?" was all Odd-Eyes said as Yuya then leaped off his back, shocking the dragon, "You crazy b-!?" he roared as he started to fall.
As Yuya got closer, his heart beat got even louder, he was just inches from the card, until- "Got it!" he snatched the card and rolled as he landed on the other side. "Phew..." he then looked back to Odd-Eyes, "Odd-Eyes!" he yelled out panicked.
"Remember me!" Odd-Eyes roared, about to fall into the gorge, but Meteorburst and Punishment Dragon, who had somehow gotten to the other side, grabbed Odd-Eyes by his horns and the two pulled him up.
This relieved his owner, as well as everyone watching, "Oh thank god, I thought my heart was going to give out..." Azara sighed out, "Err, you guys do know Yuya wasn't in that much danger right, he would've just hit the floor." Andy commented nonclantly, this in turn earned him numerous flat stares from most of the group. "What?" he asked, he was serious getting offended with all the flat stares.
Yuya then held up the Action Card he got, which was an Oversword. "Alright! I now send the Action Spell, Oversword to my Graveyard..." he sent the card to his Graveyard, "To activate the Trap, Dangerous Draw!" he then placed his fingers over his Deck.
"This card lets me draw one card from my Deck, however... If that card is a monster..." he began, "Then I will take damage equal to its ATK!" he finished, shocking them all.
Gongenzaka at first was stunned, which then gave way to shock, "Are you serious!?" he shouted, "That means... If Yuya draws a monster with more than 450 ATK..." Sora said worried, "Then it's really game over!" Tatsuya added.
"Yuya!" Yuzu gasped out, this draw would cement Yuya's lost if it was a monster, "This is the biggest risk I've ever heard of." Oliver weakly said, "He's gambling it all on this..." Yuko walked over to them, "On whether he moves forward to the next stage, or stays where he is." she said.
Before Yuya drew his card, he swallowed the lump in his throat, "There's no turning back now..." his drawing hand was shaking, "It's now or never..." he began to sweat, "But, I believe..." his pendant began to sway, "In myself, and in my cards!" and with that, he drew.
"I DRAW!" he yelled drawing his card, holding it aloft and what he saw brought a smile to his face, "Thank you!" he smiled, "The Quick-Play Spell, Big Return!" he shouted as he activated the card, "This card allows me to reuse a "once per turn" card currently on my Field!" he said.
"I'll reuse Blazing Touch's Pendulum Effect again! This time Ill use its other effect, which allows me to Fusion Summon during the Battle Phase!" he declared, Blazing Touch tapped his staff, which released two fireballs, one red, one blue.
"I now Fuse Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Odd-Eyes Punishment Dragon!" the fireballs hit the two dragons, causing them to float into the air, "What!?" Gongenzaka shouted, "Another..." "Fusion!" Yuzu finished for Sora.
"Dual eyed dragon of power, become one with the punishing force of your brethren, and give rise to a chaotic power!" the two dragons glowed their respective colours, red and yellow, before swirling into the vortex, creating a bright light.
"Fusion Summon!" Yuya yelled, "Come forth, wielder of chaos! Level 8! Chaos-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Chaos-Eyes appeared with a roar and a stance, which combined with its staggering aura, intimidated Gongenzaka, who backed up slowly. Meanwhile Gongenzaka's father was shocked, while Nico happily clapped for Yuya.
Chaos-Eyes Pendulum Dragon: DARK, Level: 8 [Dragon/Fusion/Effect] ATK/3000 + 500 = 3500 DEF/2500
Yuya then climbed atop of Chaos-Eyes, "I activate Chaos-Eyes's effect, choosing one effect to activate this turn!" he made his choice as Chaos-Eyes then sprang into the air, "Battle! Chaos-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo! Spiralling Chaos Burst!" Chaos-Eyes releases it energy attack, which then vaporised Susanowo. 2200 - 1100 = 1100 (Gongenzaka)
"And now Chaos-Eyes's effect now activates!" Yuya said as they landed and turned to face Gongenzaka, "When it destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it can deal you damage equal to the original ATK of the DARK monster Fusion Material used to Fusion Summon it!" he said, shocking Gongenzaka, "Punishment Dragon, who was the DARK monster has 2500 ATK!" Yuya grinned out, "This is the end, Gongenzaka!" he declared as Chaos-Eyes was enveloped by a dark fire, which it gathered in its mouth and fired it at Gongenzaka, it took the form of a dragon, right before knocking him off his feet.

With Yuya victorious, he leapt off Chaos-Eyes, who along with Meteorburst disappeared, as did the Action Field. He then took a breather, right before- "Big Bro!" "Huh?" he looked to his right, and saw the kids. "You guys..." he began, "You won!" Tatsuya said, "It was amazing!" Ayu hugged him.
"It gave me the shivers!" Futoshi cried out joyfully. "Wait, you were here the entire time watching?" he asked, "Nico told us we couldn't cheer you on in person..." Ayu explained. Yuya then turned to see his mother walking up to them, followed by the rest. "If you're aiming to be a pro, then you need to able to win when you're by yourself after all." Yuko said.
"But that won't a problem, will it?" Matthew asked rhetorically, at which Yuya smiled and nodded, "Right!" he said, "Yuya!" Shuzo came skidding to his side, "You were on fire in the Duel! Hot blooded!" he yelled, "No kidding, even I got a bit excited watching that Duel!" Sora complimented, at which Ronald scoffed, "Ha! Like that would be hard, what with your short attention span!" Ronald joked, gaining a glare from the Fusion Duelist.
"Yuya, Congratulations!" Yuzu said to him happily with a smile, said smile caused Yuya's heart to flutter, but he kept a good poker face. Just then Gongenzaka walked up to him, looking stern, "Gongenzaka..." he said then looked down, "Since I won, your entry into the Junior Youth Division is-"
"Don't worry about it." Gongenzaka cut him off, "There's still a week left until the championship, I still have a chance." he said, "Speaking of your chances!" Nico said, talking to Matthew, Nigel, Oliver, Andy and Azara, "I've got your next Duels scheduled!" he told the five, they nodded and walked off with him to get their next addresses.
Gongenzaka then turned back to Yuya, "I'm glad that I was able to push you this far." he said, and then held out a hand to Yuya, who took a moment, but then grasped his hand and shook it.
"How moving! True friendship between men-achk!" Shuzo cried out, "Dad, that's enough!" Yuzu proceeded to smack him across the head with her fan.
She then turned to Yuya, who was now caught in a bear hug by the crying giant that was Gongenzaka. "Well Yuya..." she said, "Huh?" Gongenzaka then let him go, "I guess I'll be seeing you later, I've got to get back to my training!" she looked back at the group that was with Nico, who were walking back to them, "Oh yeah... Umm..." he began, but didn't go any further.
"See ya tomorrow then..." he replied, reluctantly, at this the returning group made a mental decision, "Okay that's enough!" Oliver suddenly interrupted, he looked to his brothers, who were both thinking the same thing. The three then waltz up to Yuya, "Intervention!" Oliver shouted as the three grabbed him, "Wait wha-Ahhhhhhhh!" Yuya was suddenly dragged away by the three, with Andy and Ronald tagging along.
The sight confused all that watched it happen, "Huh? That was odd..." Shuzo blinked confused...
"Okay, what's this all about?" Yuya asked the three, having been dragged into the room that the lot were in before, "Yuya... We know about Yuzu..." Matthew said, "What about her?" he asked.
"Duh! We know that you 'like-like' her!" Oliver said to him, at which caused Yuya's cheeks to redden, "I-I-I don't-t know what you're on about!" he stuttered out, "Oh please!" Ronald snapped, "I haven't been around you as long as these guys have, but even I can tell you're crushing on Yuzu!" he said,
"They've got a point..." Andy added on, for a while Yuya didn't say a thing, as he focused on calming his face down, "Alright, say that this is true-" "It is true!" Oliver cut him off.
"Fine it's true! You happy!" Yuya snapped out, "Why are we even talking about it now?!" he asked them serious, "Because Yuya, we think you should ask her out!" Matthew explained, and this caused Yuya to go as red as his hair.
"Wh-a-a-a-tttt! How could you say such a thing!?" he asked panicking, "Because Yuya, we want the two of you to be happy." Matthew explained, "Well, happier than what you are now." Oliver added.
"But what if she doesn't like me like that, I mean have you seen that fan of hers?" Yuya asked, at which the lot all shivered at the mention of that weapon, "Come on, you didn't think we would try and encourage you to do this if we didn't Yuzu liked you like you like her!" Ronald said, shocking Yuya with this news.
"She... she likes me back?" he asked, hoping they were right, "You two aren't exactly that good at hiding your feelings..." Nigel finally said, "Well, besides from each other apparently." he added on. Earning some chuckles from the others. "Come on Yuya, what do you have to lose from this?" Andy asked.
"Our friendship..." Yuya quietly said, "You guys know that me and Yuzu go way back, like around the time that I was adopted by mom and dad..." the five nodded, "Well what if I make some mistake, and it ends up ruining my friendship with her." he said.
"Yuzu... She's been by my side for so long, I don't know how I would cope if she wasn't my friend... I... I just can't risk it!" he looked away from them. "So let me get this straight, you were willing to risk your chances at being a Pro in your Duel against Gongenzaka, yet you can't get past being more than friends with Yuzu?" Matthew said sternly. Yuya slowly Yuya ashamed.
"Coward!" he said, at this Yuya grew frustrated at the older teen. "Hey now that's not..." Yuya began, before sighing in defeat, "You're right..." he said, "Listen Yuya..." Yuya looked up to see Matthew resting his hand on his shoulder, "Yes you may be a coward, but everyone is on the inside, aren't we?" he asked the others, who nodded, while Ronald scoffed, "I'm not..." he mumbled, at which Matthew rolled his eyes.
"Anyways, If you want to get further in life, then you have to break through the walls that you've setup before you, only then can you walk forward in life." Matthew continued, "Besides, you said it yourself, you and Yuzu go way back, I'm sure your friendship would survive, even if things don't work out..." he reassured the young boy.
"But if you don't do anything about, you won't be going anywhere at all." he finally said, for a while Yuya thought about what he said, and he was right, at which point, he looked at them, and nodded...
"So Yuzu, do you want to do some practice matches?" Sora asked, as he, Yuzu, Azara, Shuzo and Yuko were walking down the steps, heading home for the day.
"Sure, I'll just tell dad that-" "Yuzu!" Yuzu was cut off by the yelling, as were Azara and Sora, Shuzo and Yuko, didn't hear as they were further ahead. They looked back to see Yuya, and the rest catch up to them, "Yuya?" Yuzu said confused.
Yuya quickly caught his breath, before looking to Matthew, who nodded at him, he nodded back, and then walked down to Yuzu... Albeit with shaky feet, "This won't end well, will it?" Oliver asked, before being elbowed by Nigel in the arm. "Ow!" he groaned, rubbing his arm. As Yuya walked, Azara and Sora walked up to them, "What's going on?" Azara asked.
"You'll see..." Was all that was said as they watched, the two were confused, but they looked at Yuya and Yuzu, like the others did.
"What's up Yuya?" Yuzu asked, just as Yuya took a moment, before he spoke, "It's been awhile, hasn't it..." he said, confusing her, "Since the last time we hung out..." he explained, "Oh, yeah, I guess it has been, what with all the Dueling and training going on..." she said, "Yeah... So I was thinking..." he stopped, "Yes?" she asked.
"That maybe... we should..." he began rubbing his back calmly. "Hang out again, like tomorrow maybe?" he asked.
"Well at least its something..." Ronald muttered as they watched the scene on fold, "Really!? Yuya's going to ask Yuzu out?" Azara happily asked in a whisper, "It took some encouraging, but yes..." Matthew said back, "Oh, I'm so happy for them!" she clapped her hands gently, not wanting to attract their attention.
"So, what do you say?" Yuya asked her, for a while, Yuzu was quiet, she glanced up at the group, to see them smiling, "Why would they be smiling like that-" she asked, but cut herself off, now knowing the answer. "Is... Is Yuya asking me-"
"Yuzu?" Yuya asked, snapping her out of it, "Huh?" she got out, "What do you say?" Yuya asked, hiding his nervousness greatly, "Sure! I think a day of relaxing would be great!" she said, making Yuya smile at her.
"Great! Let's say 2pm tomorrow!" he said, "That works for me! See ya tomorrow!" she said, fighting down her blush, turned and took off.
When she was out of sight, Yuya sighed, and nearly fell to his knees, but caught himself, "Oh thank god, the hard part is over!" he said relieved, "What makes you think that's the hard part?" Oliver said, as the group joined up with him, "The actual date is the hardest part!" he said smirking, making Yuya blush.
"Yuya, I'm so proud of you!" Azara said giving him a hug, "You finally worked up the courage and asked Yuzu out!" she said, "Hehehe, thanks guys..." Yuya rubbed his back, "I couldn't have asked her out if it weren't for you encouraging me..." the boys smiled at this, "I owe you one! Later!" he waved goodbye, and than ran off, a spring could be seen in his steps.
"And there he goes..." Oliver said, the lot then proceeded to start walking again, but with Azara and Nigel at the back, "Hey Nigel..." she began, with him looking at her, "Can you do me a favour?" she asked, making him look at her confused...
LDS (A little while later)
"It would appear that Yuya Sakaki's entry into the Junior Youth Division has been decided." Nakajima told Reiji, "I see, then that means nearly all the Duelist I've had my eye on are accounted for..." Reiji then brought up info for Matthew Denisu, his Brothers, and Azara. "But I have no doubt that these four, and maybe one more..." Andy's info also showed, "... Will make it as well." he said.
"Right, also concerning the incident with Masumi Koutsu, Yaiba Toudou and Hokuto Shijima..." Nakajima began, "Have you finished the erasing procedure yet?" he asked, "Yes sir, their Duel against Shun Kurosaki, as well as anything related or concerning him has been erased." he told him, "Good work, now the environment for both Kurosaki and Kage's entry into the tournament is prepared." Reiji said back.
"All that left is seeing how much power he displays..." he then turned on his tablet, which showed footage of the harbour theft, the footage showed the same kind of Duel Disk that both Shun and Kelly used, he then touched the screen, to make it zoom out, to reveal the owner of the Duel Disk, a young man, wearing a plague mask. "And to find out if this gentleman is worth recruiting..." he said.
"In fact..." he then changed the footage to show a project, called The Lancer Program "The same question applies to them all..." he kept swiping, until pictures of Sora, Yuzu, Gongenzaka, and Yuya showed up. "Among these few, how many of these Duelist will become the lances that will fight for our world?" he asked himself.

Also as many of you can tell, I modified Vortex and Meteorburst's appearances... Just because... I felt like it! Also they each have an additional effect, as will Absolute and Gravity
