Chapter 2

Kiyoshi wondered about.

The world looked… a lot more different than before. Everything had a crisper and a clear look. Yet every so often, he would catch something just fleeting by his eyes. "What happened to me…" he whispered to himself. He stared at his hands but could feel his power surging through him.

"Cousin?"

He froze as a gentle voice called to him. Kiyoshi slowly turned and saw a young woman lingering near by. She bore a rather calm look on her face, it reminded him of his uncle Choso. "I'm sorry, I don't know who you are…"

She smiled warmly to him. "Calypso, daughter of Choso." She explained.

"I thought so, you do have his 'I would like to talk to you,' look," he laughed. But then paused. "Are you a dragon too?"

She nodded to him. "Do you mind if I walk with you? The others won't be bothering us since we know you are trying to figure this out. Also, I think the bombardment you got in the dinning hall was a little excessive…"

He snickered to her and nodded. "That was like a tidal wave of cousins…"

"Which is why I came alone, I saw how startled you were and opted it would be best for a slow introduction…" she stood just shorter than himself, however she was very kind and spoke softly like his uncle.

"I… don't even know what had happened to me… When I woke up, I was in my father's arms. Then went I got something to eat, dad came back and just about smothered me…"

She merely listened as he spoke, when he finished, Calypso smiled to him. "I can understand that is frustrating for you, but you need to see it from your father's perspective as well. He sees you as an infant at the moment… not that you are, but you need to remember, he held you within himself as you were turning, that was as long as your mother carrying her baby."

He froze. "Nine months?!" he demanded. Yet, when he looked about and saw his breath linger in the air, he nearly forgot it was spring time when this all happened. He was helping Sukuna with his elemental power… But now, it's becoming winter once more. "Dad… did that for me?"

"Of course!" she decreed. "My father said that your dad would do anything to help another in need, and when this happened to you… he made sure you were always protected. I had to limit his mobility for a while until the egg formed around you. Had it not and it cracked in his stomach, it wouldn't have gone well for you in the end. You would have been crushed as he was releasing you from his stomach."

Kiyoshi froze a little. "I don't think I really needed to know that…"

"Understood," she said bluntly. "But, Kiyoshi, realize what your father did… is amazing… and had you been born in the heavenly realm, they would have left you to die… unless they ate you first."

"Again, don't really need to know that…"

They fell silent to one another. Kiyoshi found it strange that the cold didn't bother him the least bit. He wore merely shirt, pants and was walking barefoot. There was a chill in the air but he wasn't the least bit cold.

He suddenly paused and sighed aloud. "I don't know what to do…"

Turning to Calypso, she said nothing, but listened.

"I… I don't know HOW to be a dragon, and I don't know what KIND of dragon I am going to be… if I end up being like my dad… does this mean I can EAT other dragons for the hell of it?! Also, my hair?! Why is it blue? It was only blue when Raynn took over!"

When he finished his rant, Calypso smiled.

"If you end up being like your father, your female cousins and I could only be grateful and blessed that you are." She said gently.

"Even now despite the law in place of dragons coming to earth. More and more are sneaking out of the heavenly realm to not just hunt my brothers down, but to take away my female cousins and I, for we are young and… available. Two in fact came to try and kill your father as he tended to you, but we made quick work of them. At the same time, the more diverse the dragons we have here, the better our chances are at survival. I am in the same situation you are. I don't know what kind of dragon I will be, and my mother only recently revealed to my father the kind she is."

Kiyoshi paused. "Really?" he asked.

She nodded to him. "We would be far more at ease to know if you are a demon dragon, but, even if you are not. You are still going to be greatly formidable to the other dragons."

He nodded to her. "What if I am not a demon dragon? What if I am some weak dragon compared to everyone else?"

"Impossible," she decreed.

"What do you mean?"

She giggled to his question. "I am but a young dragon, only born a few months ago myself, but already I have seen the dragons of the heavenly realm and then, I have seen and met you. Cousin Kiyoshi, you are a powerful dragon. And I decree this even before you understand what kind you are. Already you have an advantage over those of the heavenly realm."

"That's a little hard to believe…"

"It will be shown sooner than later, but for the interests of all of us, here is hoping it happens far later!" she laughed. "Cousin… I am glad to know you, and I am thrilled to see you have joined us as a dragon. If you need help… we're here for you. Okay?"

He nodded to her.

"I'll leave you be, when you are ready to properly meet the rest of the cousins and my brothers, I will be more than happy to introduce you."

"Thank you," he said gently.

Calypso went on her way, as Kiyoshi continued to wonder about. That was until he felt his presence.

"So this is how you come across?" he asked.

Turning his head, he saw Sukuna lingering. He bore a small smirk yet peered over Kiyoshi. "Huh… I thought you would have gotten at least a little bigger… you're rather small for a dragon."

He snickered to his words, Kiyoshi was grateful he was still himself. But it appears Sukuna had high expectation of him.

"If I didn't know any better, you almost sound disappointed…" he teased back.

The king of curses smirked. "How do you feel?"

Kiyoshi shrugged his shoulders to it all. "Before my dad trying to smother me, I don't think I could complain…"

"what…"

"Don't ask."

Sukuna merely nodded to him. "So, what now? I don't think we can spar anymore… unless you want to nearly kill me…"

"What? I wouldn't dare!"

"Do you have any idea as to how strong you are now?" he asked bluntly.

Kiyoshi shook his head. "I don't even know what kind of dragon I am!" he protested.

"Perhaps that is one thing I can assist with, tomorrow, let's test your strength… just not on me. I know better."

Kiyoshi snickered and agreed, yet, as Sukuna left, he paused and turned. "Believe it or not… I'm glad this worked out for you, child." He took his leave shortly after.

That was strange. He sounded sincere about it!

There is still much to figure out, however, at the moment, Kiyoshi is grateful to be alive… and now, it's time he meets this new sister of his…
