Chapter 9
Later that night…
Tiamat noticed it… she felt it… something… was resonating within the confines of the egg. She has kept a careful watch over Toji for the past three days, and today, there was something. "Toji… are you ready?" she asked gently.
Then, it shook.
The egg began to agitate back and forth, not only that, but there was roaring, someone sounded upset or frustrated.
Until…
There was an explosion!
She didn't flinch from it, but her smile grew the moment he emerged.
#
"Ugh…."
Toji woke with the mother of all headaches.
As his vision returned, he took in the surroundings. At first, nothing was familiar to him, until his vision cleared. Yet, as it did, he knew something wasn't right. Everything around him appeared sharper, crisper in a sense. Matters were not helped as he realized it was the dead of night. How could he see everything with such clarity as if it were the daytime?
"Huh… What the hell happened?" he muttered to himself.
Slowly, he stood, yet was even more puzzled. "How did I get naked? I swear if this is Satoru's idea of a joke…" yet the more he looked about, the more his senses woke. He could hear things far from where he stood. He was within the domain still, his eyes suddenly focused as he found the village not too far from where he was. Second, he began to feel something strange resonate from the village… "Huh… that's some strong aura… almost like killing intend and yet… it's not" he muttered to himself once more.
He tried to walk, yet as he took the first step, his mind felt as if it saw everything within the domain. He knew where everyone was! "What the fuck…"
"Toji?"
He paused as he slowly turned and saw lady Tiamat looking to him with worry. "Toji, are you okay?" she asked gently.
"I… think so… I don't even know what happened to me…" he said as he scratched the back of his head in confusion. "Not to mention I'm naked."
She giggled to that. "It's not like I haven't seen this sight before," she teased, but her smile grew. "Do you… remember what happened?"
He paused once more. "Something happened to me?"
"Perhaps it's best that I explain…" with a wave of her hand, black smoke came over his body. He was fully clothed once more and yet, he wasn't startled by it. But the more he began to look at Lady Tiamat, the more he began to feel something odd… something… powerful emit from her.
"What's going on? My senses are in overdrive right now, I'm starting to pick up something off of you, but…" he shook his head to it all. "What the hell is wrong with me?"
"Nothing is wrong!" she insisted. "In fact… this worked out better than I could have hoped for."
"Huh?"
"Toji… I… tested something on you, to see if it would work. I knew it would for you since you and I are together, but at the same time, I didn't know if it would… but it did!" she said with great excitement. "Toji, you have become a dragon now."
He confused look on his face must have been something, she laughed at it rather hard the moment he made it. "Me… a dragon? Yeah, right!" he said with a smirk of his own. "How the hell could you have pulled that off? I know that rule you spoke of. One can't be a dragon unless born a dragon, that shit won't fly otherwise right?"
She nodded to him. "Actually, Yuuji and Sukuna inspired me to create something like this. When Yuuji turned his son, he came out perfect. Better than what I could have imagined. Sukuna mentioned before, hatching is a form of birth,"
He paused once more. "Hatching…" suddenly, he had the urge to turn around. Not too far from where he stood was a black looking gemstone like egg, with a massive hole in it. He then felt it, around his neck was a platinum chain with a fang on it. "What the hell…" he whispered. "Wait, how could this have happened?!"
"It's a new jujutsu I made."
"You made a jujutsu to turn people INTO a dragon? WHY?!"
Lady Tiamat became serious. "Because, the dragons need to start over." She said gently. "Toji, where I am from, my kind are going to make themselves extinct in the next hundred years… more than likely far sooner than that with the way things are going and what my Uncle intends on doing. I cannot let that happen, so I have decided to return them to the world, but… under better conditions and protection. That necklace you wear now, that hides your energy that is growing by the minute. No one will sense you are a dragon when you wear that or live in this domain. But at the moment, you are but one I have been able to turn."
"Huh…"
"Also, there is a little snag that I have encountered. If I turn the males who have children, I cannot turn the children. The fathers must do that themselves. It's better that way as well it will guarantee success. I don't know if this technique will work on everyone here as of yet. I have to be careful and do this in stages…"
"Seriously, what the hell is going on…" he muttered once more. Yet as he tried to wrap his head around it, something in his mind… pinged in a sense.
He paused as he began to stare at the village, his eyes sharpened as they focused on one of the homes. The one his son Megumi lives in.
His skin began to crawl at the thought, his mind began to go a mile a minute, whispering to him. 'He's vulnerable, he needs to be stronger, the child must become stronger. For he is my son, my flesh and blood,' his stomach lurched at the thought as well.
"Megumi…" he whispered. He shook his head once more, but it throbbed from doing so. "What the hell…"
"Toji? What thought just entered your mind?" Lady Tiamat asked with worry.
"My son, Megumi… I could see him… my mind… whispered. He's vulnerable and he needs to be stronger. My child must become stronger… why… why am I thinking this? He's already a powerful sorcerer!" he protested.
When he turned to face Lady Tiamat, she appeared to be on the brink of tears. "You… want to help him get stronger?" she whispered.
"I feel the urge I have to do something… gah! My gut lurched at the thought of it all!" he said and held his stomach. For that matter, he swore he felt something squirming inside his body in anticipation of it. "What the hell is this?"
She was smiling proudly now. "It's what I have always hoped for…" she whispered. "Toji, don't ignore this sensation. Act upon it!" she insisted of him, she inched herself closer. Tiamat's hand went down the side of his leg, but he felt her put something within his pocket. "Just… for the time being, don't tell anyone what has happened to you. At the moment, your aura has been covered and not even my sons will notice the difference. But, if you have the urge to help your son, do so. After all, to me, nothing is a greater turn on than a male who takes care of his young…"
He turned to confront her as to what she meant, but she was gone. He felt her presence leave this world, but still. What she said… was that all true? Is he really like her now?
"Maybe I've eaten something I shouldn't have…" Toji thought. For the time being, it would best if he returned home. He would sleep this off and think over what to do tomorrow…
