Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Gaming Galore. Enjoy the 1500-word chapter. I don't own Overwatch; Blizzard and a few others do.
"Do you know him?" Winston asked as the Overwatch ship slowly slinked back to base.
"Yeah…" Hannah put in, shaking her head. "He's from… Well, it's near where I live. Just didn't expect them to get Radley." Hannah put in, looking at the wounded pilot.
Winston made sure that Radley was stable. The Overwatch agent didn't have to look hard to see that Talon had tried to make him a weapon, not willingly from what he saw.
"From you know where close to Sol?" Winston asked and got a nod. "If it's any consolation? He's not willingly working for them; these implants are remote. Talon probably wanted you to find him… Which is why we're headed to a smaller base." Winston added to which Hannah hummed.
Radley wasn't the best gamer, but he had heart. Hannah questioned just what had brought Talon after him. The two hadn't spoken in over a year. She drummed her fingers on her arms.
"I heard Widowmaker was involved in an attack on Sol, but that was it." McCree added, frowning as Hannah hummed and sat cross-legged next to her friend.
"You know we cannot simply take him back to the main base." Winston said, questioning what depths Talon had sank to. "I'll make sure you can see him, I'm sure you both have many questions." Winston put in and shook his head.
Hannah said nothing. She had a duty to her home and Overwatch… And now that she realized Talon was back in full force? She had to question just how much she could afford to take when it came down to it, there were plenty of thoughts running through her head, none of them were the most reassuring when it came down to it… Still? She had her work to do, and even her friends came secondary to said work at the moment.
"Will he be, ok?" Hannah asked, no expert on machines outside of her own mech.
"He'll live, but they took enough from him to where even that might be next to impossible." Winston added while cracking his knuckles.
Winston looked at his friend, seeing the sheer confusion on the matter. He knew this person was close to the overwatch agent and Talon would go to ANY lengths to hurt them. The majority of the terrorist organization was dedicated to trying to take them apart.
"I suppose you wish to talk with him when we determine how much of his cybernetics are him?" Winston asked and got a nod. "You're be the first to know, Hannah… I am still curious as to HOW they managed to locate one of your friends and such." Winston stated to which Hannah ran her fingers across his face.
She knew more then anything when it comes down to it that Talon had let him get beaten. It wasn't as hard to defeat Radley when it came down to it. But either they had a plan, or it was simply an attempt at mental mind games.
Hannah didn't care, Radley was one of her friends. She'd be DAMNED if he was thrown in the trash without a second thought. Radley didn't deserve that, and she would make SURE that he wasn't simply thrown in the trash and forgotten.
"Did they mess with his brain?" Hannah asked, nodding at the helmet which seemed to some sort of connection to his head.
"No, but he appears to have been placed under similar brainwashing to…" Winston started to say before pausing for a moment.
Hannah nodded, knowing who he meant. Talon had already taken one of their own for their own organization. Now they went after someone she cared about? They wouldn't stop, Talon had to be brought down before they cut someone too deep to be healed.
"He didn't recognize me when I talked to him." Hannah put in which caused Winston to shake his head and turn to her.
"You know how dangerous Talon brainwashing is when it comes to a single mind." Winston added, disgust coating his words. "Still? There has to be some trace of him in there. I've been tinkering with a formula that might undo the mind control Talon employs…" Winston said, looking up at the ceiling.
He knew there could be side effects. So did Hannah, you couldn't simply test something without data or failures to be expected.
"Overwatch…" Radley stated as he took a deep breath through his mask. "You will burn. Talon demands it, and Rez answers it." Radley stated while Hannah looked at him.
"Radley?" Hannah asked, slowly moving his head to look at her.
"DVA…" Radley hissed through his mask at the mech pilot. "You should have killed me." Radley added, his eyes narrowing.
"And why would she resort to killing her friend, Radley?" Winston asked, raising a eyebrow. "You've been corrupted, Talon doesn't care about its agents." Winston added which got a snort from the Talon agent.
"And Overwatch does?" Radley questioned, his voice far colder and darker. "I don't remember who Radley is… But I know Overwatch will die sooner or later. Reaper said so, and Talon will ensure it… One soldier doesn't mean Overwatch has won the war." Radley said, staring the Overwatch leader dead in the eye as he did so.
"Radley…" Hannah said as sparks flew from Radley's chest.
He passed out, but Winston knew better. If Reaper wanted him dead? He'd have done the deed himself. There was a plan in place with Radley as its bait… But he would not allow it.
"He's never been that cold…" Hannah pointed out, her hands shaking as she looked at her friend.
"Talon wanted a killing machine no matter what, Hannah." Winston pointed out as he shook his head. "If they managed to him into this? We're turn him back. There will ALWAYS be a piece of Radley inside, no matter how much Talon tries to bury him." Winston added and slowly marched to the other side of the craft with McCree.
Hannah turned to Radley with concern. The optimistic smile he always had seemed to vanish under a scowl Talon seemed to have implanted. It seemed like all the warmth and joy from him had been slowly drained out of him and replaced with nothing but red-hot murder and hate. This was NOT her friend that she had played dozens of video games with years ago.
Whatever they had done with her friend? Hannah promised to undo, maybe it was too late for her to undo all these mutations, but she would NOT let them have her friend.
"I didn't know that they had hit your town, they timed it during a Omnic invasion." Hannah said, folding her legs under her as she sighed and shook her head. "By the time we found out? They had already destroyed the entire city. I didn't think they got you, you were always inventing new tech when it comes down to it." Hannah added while she sighed and looked around once more.
She could only question what hell they had put her friend through. There was plenty of things that her friend had gone through… Plenty that she had been put through herself, she had thought when Overwatch reformed those things would come back to normal.
"We're going to get you back to normal…" Hannah stated, tapping his helmeted head. "I'll make sure that they don't get their hands back on you." Hannah added which caused her to hum as she shook her fingers.
Radley gave no indication he heard her, no indication he cared about what she had to tell him. Hannah knew Winston would break through the brainwashing they had placed on him… But it would take time, and as long as he wasn't watched? He'd be a security risk, one which would contribute nothing to helping him to trust them.
Radley grunted as his slow breaths slowly turned into yawns as his body seized up. He curled up into a ball with his body slowly going into sleeping rather then being knocked out. She could only hope that Overwatch's doctors made sure that he was better.
Their scientists would be happy to slowly look after him to make sure he was good when it came down to it… Among other things.
hummed and slowly walked towards the rest of the ship, eager to keep her mind off things when she thought about it.
"Get better, Rad." stated to her wounded friend currently.
