Thanks to everyone reading and following along so far! I appreciate you!
I practically sprinted all the way back to Jiraiya's apartment, the way I just fell on Kakashi like that? My entire body was on top of him and he was holding onto me and...
"Ugghh..."
I collapse onto the sofa, my face buried in my hands as I lay on my back - Kit joining me as he jumps up onto my stomach, curling up cozily as I try to deal with this weird feeling I was experiencing. Being alone with just Kit sometimes made it hard for me to understand the emotions I felt, I know what love is as I love Kit and I know what hate is because I've experienced that on pretty much a daily basis because of who we are... What we are. But this? I feel strange, my face feels as if I shoved it directly into the stove - my skin feels hot and my cheeks are red?
"I'm not sure I'm ever going to understand people..."
I sigh before I relax into the couch, Kit sleeping soundly on my stomach as his tail gently twitches. My eyes suddenly feeling incredibly heavy as the events of the last few days catch up to me. Now, you would think that because I passed out and was put into a sleep at the hospital that I would feel as fresh as a daisy on a bright summers day. Wrong, I still hurt a little from my prior injuries and I am exhausted! I've seen more drama in these past three days or so, than I have in my entire life. It's insane!
"Alright… I give in."
I mutter to my fox as I softly scratch his ears, my hand reaching to grab the pillow behind me as I dragged it beneath my head.
"Just an hour… Then I'll be good."
I whisper, Kit making a soft purr like sound as I close my eyes. I just need a little Power Nap and I'll be set for the rest of the day. I let out a breath before my mind was swiftly covered in a deep blanket of sleep, napping soundly as I let out quiet little snores.
Bang.
I immediately sit up, my heart racing in my chest as I look around the now dark room. Kit already searching the place as I reach over to switch on the lamp.
"Hello…?"
I call out as the dark room gets covered in the warm yellow glow from the bulb, my eyes adjusting to the light as I scan my surroundings. Why do I do that? Why do I call out as if the intruder is going to respond? So dumb.
"Maybe it was just a bird flying into the window?"
I ask, my eyes glancing at Kit as he turns to growl in my direction.
"Oh…I see…"
I move swiftly, my hands grabbing the intruder before I twist their arm behind their back - pressing them hard onto the edge of the couch as my eyes glow orange.
"Start. Talking."
I gaze down at a young male, studying who this man was. I look at him as Kit jumps onto the sofa, his fangs in full view as he continues to growl. My eyes narrowing as the male lets out a deep chuckle.
"That was impressive. I wasn't expecting you to move so fast."
I twist his arm back harder and he winces in response.
"That's because you don't know me. Who are you and what do you want?"
I growl at him, my tone sharp as he smirks. Who the hell does this guy thinks he is? Coming in here like this? As I look at him I start to note his appearance.
He has light grey hair which he wears tied back. The round glasses he's gazing at me through is reflecting the light of the lamp so I can't fully see his eyes and just his general demeanor, I can smell a bad egg and he is definitely rotten. Rotten to the very core… Or yolk. Whatever the saying is.
"My name is Kabuto Yakushi."
I look at Kit, my shoulders shrugging as I keep him pinned.
"Okay Kabuto. Why are you here? Knocking on the door too boring for you?"
I ask as he chuckles again, what the hell is with this guy? I'm almost ready to break his arm and he's barely breaking a sweat.
"You caught my eye. Not many people around here can do what you did at the training field today."
So this little freak was watching me. How long has this been going on?
"I could've told you that. You still didn't answer my question and I'm getting really inpatient."
Kabuto sighs before he speaks again.
"I wanted to gather more information on you, so I did."
"By breaking in and watching me sleep?"
Kit barks loudly at him and Kabuto flinches a little before I pull him back, forcing him to walk toward the door. I'm not entirely sure if what he is saying is true or not but either way, I'm not letting him stick around to find out.
"Well, whoever it is that wants that information. Tell them to come ask me myself!"
My eyes gaze at the door leading to the hallway and it opens on its own, Kabuto chuckling as I start pushing him out of the apartment.
"You are truly a mystery aren't you? He will be pleased."
He? Who is this guy talking about? Is he referring himself in the third person? You know what, I don't even care. I just want him out.
"Let this be a warning, creep. If I see you hanging around me or breaking into places that isn't your own, I won't be so gentle next time."
I flip him around to face me, my eyes gazing up into his almost black ones looking down at me before he smirks. I do not like the feeling he is giving me, it is the complete opposite of the one Kakashi made me feel earlier. Are there lessons in emotions because I think I need one.
"I look forward to it."
Oh that's it, I'm done playing. I push him a step backward before spinning a kick hard into his chest, his body flying backwards down the hallway before I hear him clatter down the steps and onto the street. Kit already slamming the door shut after him as I try to calm down, my teeth nibbling my lip nervously as I look down at my fox.
"Something wasn't right about him…"
Kit barks at me and I nod. We could both sense the darkness in him, the hatred, that man smelt like Chaos and something else. I'm not sure what.
"Maybe we should find Kakashi? Or Jiraiya… Guy?"
I ask him and he nods as I look back toward the door.
"Maybe we should go out the window?"
My fox had already thought about that as when I went to look down at him, he was already on the windowsill, pulling it open with his paw.
"Can you smell him?"
I ask as I walk over, looking out into the night. I really didn't mean to sleep as long as I did and thankfully it looks like the sun just went down so hopefully that means one of the three Jonin will still be awake. Although I imagine the Pervy Sage is in some tavern flirting with woman who don't know any better. Poor things.
"Clear?"
Kit barks and I rub his head before jumping out of the window, our search for the three ninjas beginning.
