Rewritten
Mina woke up early again, a curse she wished to be rid of. After getting herself cleaned up she went down to the main room and saw a flash of green run past the dormplex. Mina kinda figured he'd go back to training, but that wouldn't deter her from being friendly!
Izuku had been up since 5 am and usually kept running until 7 am. However, he was moving a little slower today, the events of last night were still fresh in his mind. He slept like an infant, it's not often he goes to bed without worrying about the next days events in some way but last night he was just... Calm.
As he finished his run and walked to the dorm steps, he saw Mina waiting for him at the entrance with two cups.
He smiled a bit "G-Good morning, Ashido."
"Mina." She quickly corrected "But anyway, I gotcha some water! Figured you'd need it after what I've seen you do before". She handed him a cup of water.
Izuku was already a blushing mess but accepted it and took a sip "Thank you, M-Mina" they smiled to each other before both going inside and sitting on the couch.
"Ready to continue our hero training at school today?" Mina said enthusiastically
Izuku nodded in agreement, "Yeah! After being under house arrest for so long, I'm ready to put my best foot forward!" He suddenly flinched, realizing he may have been too excited.
Mina was surprised at first but then burst into a laughing fit. Now he felt super ashamed. "Hey! No need to worry, Midori! I'm pumped too! I just thought it was cute seeing you all pumped up!"
A moment of silence passed as Izuku's face heated up at being called cute.
"So louuuud..." Uraraka whined as she came down the stairs.
Izuku noticed her and smiled "Oh! S-Sorry Uraraka! Mina and I were just talking".
Uraraka's interest was suddenly peaked "Oh? About what?" She asked as she made some tea for herself.
Mina smiled and turned to her "Nothing much! Just told him that it's gonna be fun having him back in class!".
Uraraka smiled softly and once she made her drink, sat on the couch next to them. "She's right, Deku. It's not the same without you." Uraraka let out a bright smile.
Izuku smiled wide "Thanks you guys... That... That means a lot. I'm actually gonna go get changed now. See you guys in a bit". He got up and made his way to his room as they said their temporary goodbyes.
Uraraka felt off though and decided to speak up. "H-Hey, Mina? Uh... What did you and Deku do yesterday?"
Mina looked a bit confused "Huh? Nothing much, why?"
Uraraka blushed "I was just wondering how you got him to stop training and hang out with you..."
Mina chuckled "Well to be honest, I didn't exactly make him stop. He was running outside this morning hehe... But I think I see whatcha mean... I know he and I don't talk much but... I could tell everyone was worried about him, so I decided to step in and see if I could make a difference. Thank goodness I did. It was fun hanging out with him yesterday."
Uraraka smiled "Well, thank you. He looks happier" she felt her heart tug a little when she said that.
Mina nodded then got up "No problem! Now come on, we gotta get dressed for school too!" Uraraka nodded and slowly followed Mina up the stairs.
Later at lunch and after a brutal butt kicking at the hands of Mirio Togata
Mina was eating lunch with Kaminari, Kirishima, Bakugo and Sero until a certain spiky redhead spoke up.
Kirishima looked toward Mina and smiled "So Mina. You've been with Midoriya more often lately. Any reason why?"
Mina chuckled "I'm just trying to help him do other things than train all day."
Kaminari smiled "Thanks for doing that Mina, he might just go beyond our entire class if he keeps training like he was!"
Bakugo grunted "Would you guys shut up about that damn nerd! So what if he keeps training, we all should be!" He yelled at the group.
Normally Mina wouldn't think twice about this but... After what Izuku told her, she hasn't been able to look at Bakugo like she used to. She could picture it all too clearly, a defenseless Izuku getting viciously yelled at by Bakugo while everyone watched. Her anger was starting to get far too real so she got up without saying anything and went to Midoriya's table.
Everyone at her table watched her leave in confusion.
Sero was a bit concerned at her sudden quietness "Is Mina okay?"
Kaminari looked to be in deep thought for once "I can't tell... That was pretty weird."
Bakugo just shrugged it off "Whatever, if Raccoon Eyes wants to be with those losers then screw her!"
Kirishima was a bit taken aback by Bakugo's words "Relax bro. She literally just said she's been trying to help Midoriya."
Bakugo stabbed at his lunch with his chop sticks as he grumbled and all his tablemates sighed in exhaustion.
Meanwhile Izuku was scribbling notes down like a mad man. Much to the confusion of his friends.
Iida was a bit concerned "Was there really that much information to be taken from class today? I thought today was quite a simple lesson."
Izuku looked up "Huh? Oh! Sorry, Iida. I just haven't written notes in so long that my intensity is in full effect."
Uraraka giggled "Just don't hurt yourself, Deku."
Asui "Yeah, we wouldn't want you to hurt your hand, ribbit."
Todoroki looked over to Izuku. "It is nice to have you back though."
Izuku smiled "Thanks, Todoroki. It's good to be back."
"Heeeey! Is this seat taken?" The group was surprised to see Mina taking a seat at their table.
Iida was the first to speak "Ashido! What a pleasant surprise!"
Asui put a finger to her mouth. "My thoughts exactly, are you okay?"
Mina chuckled "I'm fine guys! So is it cool if I sit here?"
"I'm okay with it" the group turned to see Izuku with a bashful smile of his face.
Iida smiled "I have no objections with Ashido joining us."
Asui croaked "Yeah, I'm okay with it"
Todoroki looked into his soba "If Midoriya is fine with it. I am too".
Uraraka at first wanted to say no but gave in quickly "Sure! Why not!"
Mina grinned from ear to ear, "Thanks, guys! You won't be disappointed!"
Izuku was happy to have her there especially after all she's done for him in just one day. Izuku had decided... He wanted to pay her back somehow. It was only fair, after all.
Izuku immediately began to brainstorm what he could do to return Mina's kindness.
After a typical day at school though, Mina got up from her desk, ready to leave, only to be stopped by a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see it was Tooru.
"Hey Mina, Wanna head to the mall with us?" All the girls were behind her.
Mina was about to say yes until a thought popped in her head and she looked at Midori from across the room. She immediately remembered that she had made plans to hang with him today. At that moment, her heart was set. "Nah, I'll tag along next time, thanks though!"
Tooru giggled "Your loss! Have fun, Mina!" They all began to leave as Uraraka saw Mina walk to Deku.
Izuku was in the middle of a mumble party with himself until Mina tapped his forehead "Hellooooo~?"
Izuku nearly jumped from his desk "AH?! ... OH M-Mina. Sorry about that"
Mina was instantly smiling "Hey, you remembered!" She giggled cutely
Izuku smiled softly as Mina continued "Anyway, I'm kinda bored, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to fast forward our hangout session to now rather than later."
"I dunno Mina, I really do need to train so I'm not sure if" he was cut off by Mina slamming her hands on his desk.
"Midori... I understand why you push yourself but... There's more to life than training. You work harder than any of us and need to free up some time to just kick back! Oh I know! How about I teach you how to dance?!"
Izuku looked befuddled "I don't think that's kicking back and... I'm not really interested in dancing."
Mina gasped "What?! But dancing is practically a fighting style of its own!" Mina shouted excitedly.
Izuku thought about it for a minute, 'dancing is like fighting? Well... I guess it does require accurate body movement and practice with balance... it also might help me get a better understanding of my body...' "Alright Mina, t-teach me how to dance!" Mina let out a cheer of excitement before dragging Izuku to the dormplex.
This whole scene unfolded before the eyes of one explosive, slightly jealous blonde.
Later at Ashido's dorm. Mina's laughter could be heard in the halls as Izuku *danced* similarly to a malfunctioning robot.
"Midori! That's not dancing!" Her laughter resumed before she got up and calmed down "You gotta let loose, okay?"
"But... I don't know how to dance... I hardly even know what I'm doing." Izuku complained.
Mina blinked twice before blushing slightly and giving him a warm smile "Then allow me." She took his rough hands and placed them at the center of her lower back as she put her hands on his shoulders. "Follow my lead, okay Midori?"
Izuku couldn't believe how close he was to her, this beautiful, young, ball of positivity is now guiding him to dance. Izuku's whole body turned pink in an instant. As they danced, Izuku kept making the mistake of taking a misstep and stepping right onto Mina's poor foot.
Izuku panicked "I-Im so sorry, Mina! I h-hope you can f-forgive me but I-" he was cut off by Ashido
"Shhhh... Practice makes perfect, it's not that bad, but you owe me a foot massage later, Midori~" she smirked and gave a wink at the end of her statement.
Izuku could only respond with a nod, fearing that words might just drop from his mouth without a decipherable meaning.
Izuku however, did learn that after dancing with Mina... He wanted to take it up as a hobby.
After slow dancing for a while Mina couldn't take anymore.
Mina sat on her bed and kicked her feet up. "Okay Midori, I've been patient with you but stepping on my feet 20 times hurts! You gotta help my poor piggies!" She wiggled her toes as she fake pouted.
Izuku immediately took responsiblity and even though he wasn't trained, he put a decent amount of pressure on her soles. Much to Mina's glee.
Mina was extremely thankful that he was willing to help her out but simply couldn't resist this opportunity to tease him. "Ohhh that's the spot, Midori!~" she chuckled as Izuku tried to hide his flustered face blocking it with her feet.
Izuku blushed but tried to stay focused "Thanks for bearing with me and teaching me how to dance."
"No problem!" Mina said enthusiastically "We still have a long ways to go. You're very skilled though, it helps that you know your body's pressure points and limits, you just gotta work on your confidence."
Izuku's mouth opened a bit before shutting "It's... It's hard Mina. I wish it was easier for me."
Mina sighed "Yeah... I wish he treated you better..."
Izuku froze a bit before speaking "Um... When you came to our table during lunch, I noticed at first that you didn't look happy, and all your friends looked confused. Was something wrong? I-If you don't mind me asking. You've been there for me so much I think it's only right that I be there for you too."
Mina smiled at his kindness "Ohhh? Were you spying on me? Hehe" as his face grew a tinge red she thought about his words and frowned. "I... I don't know if I can be friends with Bakugo anymore..."
Izuku was clearly confused "What? Why?"
Mina sighed "The way he talks about you, the way he puts you down. The more I think on it, the more upset I become..." She looked at Izuku "I don't like bullies... When I was in middle school, I used to play peacemaker between classmates who would butt heads. However, I've never known someone as kind, gentle, shy and afraid as you, but in the same respect, you're also courageous, determined and unwaivering! The true essence of a hero!... But Bakugo still bullies you... He still calls me raccoon eyes..." She looked into her mirror on her dresser and looked at her eyes. "Its not fair..."
Izuku knew she had a point but just found himself lost as to what to say.
After a few minutes of silence however. Mina spoke up.
"So uhhh... You like my feet or something? You've been staring at them for a while now hehe" she said with a chuckle.
Izuku snapped back to reality "W-What?! No, I mean yes I" Once again he was cut off
Mina poked his forehead with her big toe "It's okay, it's okay Midori! This just means I get the best foot treatment around!~" she stood up."It is starting to get late, so I guess we can call this a night."
Izuku stood up "Yeah. Hey umm Mina? Thanks for teaching me how to dance, and being there to talk with me."
Mina smiled and pat his back "Anything for my curly haired comrade!"
She then opened the door "Thanks for rubbing my feet by the way hehe sorry if it was gross." She scratched the back of her head.
Izuku chuckled "I don't mind, it's the least I can do for you." Mina smirked, "He says while thinking about feet~" she snickered. "Minaaaa!" Izuku wined "I'm not interested in-" a pink finger was placed on his lips "Shhhh I promise not to tell hehe. Night, Midori!~" "N-Night Mina..." The door to her dorm then closed as he walked back to his room and got ready for bed.
"Thank you so much, Mina." He smiled and soon went to get another peaceful nights rest.
