Luna let out a tired sigh as she retreated into her chambers. It had been an exhausting day for her, attending to the many internal affairs of Equestria. But now, Luna raised the moon and now she was free from her responsibilities and the nagging nobles.

The night princess stared at the window and smiled. She could see the moon in the sky, shining brightly on Canterlot. The stars twinkled around it, as though dancing in the night sky.

"A beautiful sight is it not?"

Luna's eyes widen at the voice. It was just a little more than a whisper, but the deep, chilling echo was all too familiar. It was a voice she had not been expecting for some time, nor was it one she wanted to hear in centuries.

Whirling around, Luna saw the owner of the voice, a shadow on the wall. This shadow did not belong to Luna or anything else in the room. It was an essence in of itself without a corporeal form, yet it had an imposing figure, like from a filly's nightmare, with a pair of red glowing eyes stared at Luna.

"Hello Luna. It had been so long," the shadow greeted.

The night princess' eyes narrowed at the shadow. "What do you want?" Luna demanded with an edge in her voice.

The red eyes gleamed from the shadows as it spoke. "It is not obvious. I am here for you."

"You can no longer touch me. I am free of your corruption."

Luna was met with a dark chuckle. "You truly think so? You and I are alike, in more ways than you can imagine."

"We are nothing alike!" Luna growled. "At least I regret going against my sister! At least I am trying to make up for what I have done! But you…" she paused to sneer at the shadow, "… you enjoy it. You love being a creature of shadow. You love ruling with terror and fear!"

"And I see no shame in it," the shadow peered closer and Luna could see claws on its "forelimbs" point to her. "But what about you, I wonder? You once accepted that as well, if I remember correctly. I'm surprised you could return after that."

Her glared darkened. "If you remember correctly, I was under your control. I have done well without you since then. My sister has accepted me back and I rule Equestria once again."

It chuckled again. "You may have returned to your sister's warm embrace, but I am far from over. Your subjects still fear you while they love your sister. One day, you will come back to me. If not you, then another shall."

"That will never happen," Luna declared as she charged her horn. "Be gone and never return!"

The shadow growled in pain from the flash of magic released from Luna's horn. The magic dispersed and Luna saw to see the shadow was no longer in sight. She sighed with relief before she left her chamber.

Unknown to her, the shadow was still in her room, hiding in the corners. It glared at Luna as the doors closed behind the princess. As the shadow retreated into the black void from whence it came, it let one more whisper.

"You may have won, but I will find a way… Makuta Teridax always find a way."

AN: Alright, another excerpt I wrote for my discarded MLP/Bionicle story (I showed one called "Snowdrops and Ice Flakes" which was for the same story). Following the episodic nature, I thought I'd write something related to two characters who are very coincidentally similar in many respects (i.e. the unnoticed one who tried to rebel against their more famous "sibling") yet ultimately went in separate directions. Considering how I was mixing the two stories, I thought to have these two know each other. It's whatever, I guess.

Until next time, take care.

Raika out.
