The day after Midori-ko left the lookout...
" Mr Popo didn't Kami say Midori-ko would be back by now?" Goku walks up to Mr Popo as he watered his flowers
The sun was setting on the lookout casting a range of beautiful colors before nighttime fell.
" I believe so." Mr Popo nods
" I hope she comes back soon." Goku looks up at the sky "I miss her."
" I'm sure she'll be back soon." Mr Popo says focusing on what he was doing
Mr Popo continued to water his plants as Goku waited for Midori-ko to show up.
Goku sat with his legs stretched out looking up at the sky as it slowly changed.
Goku missed training with Midori-ko, even though Midori-ko held back her strength every day Goku could feel himself growing stronger each time they sparred.
Midori-ko was his best partner in every way. She was his perfect sparring partner and Midori-ko was his better half.
" Goku I'm going inside." Mr Popo calls to him from the entrance " I'll leave the light on for you."
" Thanks." Goku calls back
The stars at this point had come out and still no Midori-ko.
Goku knew she wouldn't be long sometimes things could come up where she couldn't leave her dad's house right away.
Goku laid back and stared up at the stars hoping Midori-ko would show up before Goku had to go to sleep.
More time passed and Goku's back started to ache a little from laying on the tile floor outside Kami's castle.
Sitting up Goku yawns his eyes growing sleepy. Through sleepy tears Goku could see Midori-ko's slender dragon body not descend from the sky but rise up from the lip of the Lookout.
Midori-ko paused when she saw him.
Goku jumped to his feet as Midori-ko reverted back to her human form.
Midori-ko didn't move from where she was standing.
Goku ran up to her and scooped Midori-ko up and lifted her up before holding Midori-ko close so he could kiss her.
" Ohh I missed you." Goku smiles still holding her up.
Goku's smile falls seeing that Midori-ko's face was all screwed up with tears.
" What's wrong?" Goku sat her down
" Goku." Midori-ko kept her head down pressing her forehead into Goku's chest.
" I need to talk to you." Midori-ko grips his gi shirt
" What happened? Did your dad make you cry." Goku asks holding on to her shoulders
" No." Midori-ko shook
" Okay what's going on talk to me." Goku says still holding her shoulders.
"Goku I love you more than anything." Midori-ko's whole body shook as tears streamed down her face
"I love you more than anything too... what's wrong." Goku asks
"And I'd do anything for you no questions asked." Midori-ko kept looking down she couldn't look at Goku.
"Midori-ko what's going on?" Goku's face growing pale
"I want you to know that you're everything I could have ever dreamed of..." "Midori-ko." Goku lifted her chin so she would look at him "Actually talk to me."
"I... what would you say if you could never see me again?" Midori-ko asks feeling her entire body temperature go up and then completely numb
"What?" Goku asks
"I'd say... thank you for loving me." Midori-ko pushed away from Goku
"Wait hang on." Goku reached for her but he wasn't fast enough as Midori-ko turned back into her dragon form and used just enough of her energy to push Goku back even more.
" This is goodbye Goku." Midori-ko managed to say before lifting up towards the sky
" Midori-ko! Don't do this!" Goku tried to run up to her but she'd already started to fly up through the portal between Earth Realm and Dragon Realm.
Midori-ko could see Goku running trying to keep up with her.
" Wait! You can't just... Midori-ko come back!" Goku called to her.
And just like that Midori-ko was gone.
Goku fell to his knees not believing what just happened but that didn't stop the tears.
"This this can't be happening no no NO!" Goku's entire body shook as he slammed his fists on the stone tiles of the lookout
" Goku." Mr Popo ran outside to him with Kami not far behind "Why are you screaming?" Mr Popo asks
" She she's..." Goku shook hunched over
"Son Goku?" Kami stood next to him
" Midori-ko's gone." Goku could feel himself growing weak
" Mr Popo we need to get Goku inside." Kami instructs him
" Yes Kami." Mr Popo nods "Come Goku I'll help ease your pain." Mr Popo helped Goku to his feet
" She's gone." Goku leaned into Mr Popo
" I'm sorry Goku." Mr Popo held Goku
Mr Popo made Goku a mild belladonna and valerian tea to make Goku have a dreamless sleep.
Mr Popo and Kami were hopeful that Goku would feel better in the morning but were still doubtful, they had backseats to Goku and Midori-ko's blossoming romance.
" Kami." Mr Popo walked into Kami's office
" Yes?" Kami turns away from his window
" What should we do?" Mr Popo asks
" Nothing." Kami holds his hands together
" Oh." Mr Popo sighs
" We can only help Goku through this and get him training again." Kami tells Mr Popo
" Do you know why Lady Midori-ko left?" Mr Popo asks
" I can only guess at what happened." Kami looks down
" What do you mean Kami?" Mr Popo asks
" Lady Midori-ko went to see fortuneteller Baba." Kami explains
" Oh no." Mr Popo says
" I feel Lady Midori-ko is protecting our Son Goku from something the only way she knows how." Kami tells Mr Popo
" I'll never see my friend again." Mr Popo sniffs feeling tears himself
" It's likely you won't." Kami nods
Midori-ko landed just outside her childhood home and she flew up the stairs in her dragon form but turned back to her human form before she made it inside.
" Lady Midori-ko what are you doing home?" Jodi the head maid asks seeing Midori-ko running inside.
Midori-ko ignored everything and ran to her father's office.
" Dad!" Midori-ko ran into the office where her father was sitting
" Midori-ko?" Grand Duke Toga looks up from his paperwork to her Midori-ko hug him and for her to explode with tears
" What's going on?" Grand Duke Toga asks
Midori-ko didn't answer she couldn't stop crying and shaking.
The crying didn't stop until the next morning, Midori-ko's father stayed up with her only guessing what happened.
Grand Duke Toga managed to get Midori-ko to her room and made Midori-ko at least sit in her chair.
" I had Jodi make you some tea." Grand Duke Toga set the tray on the table next to Midori-ko's chair
Midori-ko kept her eyes down feeling completely drained and numb.
" Do you want to talk about it?" Grand Duke Toga asks
Midori-ko sat motionless in her chair
" It's okay pumpkin." Grand Duke Toga sighs before kissing his daughters forehead "I... you know where I am if you want to talk."
Her father exited the room.
