A month had passed since Goku and company arrived at Midori-ko's castle carefully nestled along Snake Way.
Things were perfect.
During the day while Midori-ko had to go do Dragon Empress stuff in Dragon Realm and Goku helped train Daisuke.
In the evenings the three of them were like a little family.
Having dinner, playing a board game or maybe watching a movie.
And once Daisuke was off to bed it was just Midori-ko and Goku. They didn't waste any moment of their time together.
Goku couldn't have asked for more. He hadn't forgotten his family back on Earth but he knew that they would be okay until he saw them again.
And King Kai didn't seem to mind staying at Midori-ko's castle either considering all he did was lounge by the pool all day.
"This is the life Bubbles." King Kai told his old chimpanzee friend as they both relaxed on floaty chairs in the in ground pool. " Goku should have told us about his old girlfriend a long time ago." King Kai happily sighs before reaching for his long island ice tea
Bubbles floated beside King Kai clearly napping on another floaty chair.
Their relaxation was interrupted by Goku and Daisuke swimming passed them.
And knocking King Kai into the water.
" Damn it Goku!" King Kai shook his fist at Goku as he tried to climb back up on the floating chair.
" You're getting really fast kiddo." Goku laughs clearly ignoring King Kai.
" You're going easy on me Goku." Daisuke shook his hair that was growing longer now, a month ago Daisuke was a skinny little short guy but since he'd been spending time with Goku.
Daisuke had grown in height almost overnight and was growing into his father's son. Daisuke hadn't transformed into a super Saiyan or whatever you would call a half dragon half Saiyan, but he was growing in strength every day. And Daisuke still didn't know his own strength.
" Race you to the other end." Goku smiles
" You're on." Daisuke readies himself to race Goku again.
As the two raced the length of the pool Midori-ko made her way into the pool area.
" Are they behaving themselves King Kai?" Midori-ko smiles seeing her two favorite men having a blast in the pool.
" Absolutely not." King Kai says ringing water out his sleeve.
" Oh goodness." Midori-ko laughs watching Goku and Daisuke race each other.
" Why do I feel like you don't care?" King Kai mumbles
" Hey pretty lady." Goku swims up to the side of the pool.
Per usual Midori-ko was in a beautifully designed purple and black kimono dress perfect for an Empress like herself.
" Hi handsome." Midori-ko smirks admiring how good Goku looked.
" Eww get a room you two." Daisuke sticks out his tongue swimming up to them
" How do you think you got here?" Midori-ko teases
" I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." Daisuke dives back into the water
" So no work today?" Goku leans on the side of the pool
" I blew it off." Midori-ko rolls her eyes taking out her braid " Kaname doesn't want me there anyway."
" Do you want to go for a swim?" Goku wiggles his eyebrows
" No I'm good." Midori-ko says
" Ah you're no fun." Goku pouts
" Sorry big stuff." Midori-ko got down close enough to give Goku a kiss
Which turned out to be a mistake because Goku first played it off like he was kissing her back too but he took the chance and pulled Midori-ko into the pool with him.
"Goku!" Midori-ko jumps up above the waters surface
Goku couldn't stop laughing getting Midori-ko to splash Goku.
" Is that how it is?" Goku laughs before splashing her back
" That's for getting this heavy ass kimono wet." Midori-ko could help but laugh.
" But I got you to smile." Goku says pulling her towards him
" What am I going to do with you?" Midori-ko smiles up at Goku
" Kiss me." Goku smirks
" Goku we're not alone." Midori-ko smirks before getting kissed by Goku
" I don't care." He says before kissing her again
"Your kid acts more mature than you two and he's the teenager." King Kai comments, he'd floated over to them
" Can we help you?" Goku asks holding Midori-ko to him
" Yes you can I just got a call from an old friend of yours." King Kai tells Goku
" Who?" Goku asks
" Fortuneteller Baba." King Kai tells him
" Oh cool." Goku smiles "How's the old crone?"
" You can ask her yourself she's going to be visiting you here tonight." King Kai tells Goku
"I'm going to get changed out this wet kimono." Midori-ko pats Goku's chest before exiting the pool.
" Forgive me your highness Fortuneteller Baba said you were old friends too." King Kai says noticing the change in Midori-ko's expression
" Yeah I guess so." Midori-ko says making her way out of the pool room.
" I'm sorry Goku." King Kai says seeing the stern look Goku was giving him
" I'm sure it's fine." Goku says getting out of the pool too
" Goku? Where are you going ?" Daisuke called to him
Goku doesn't answer because he'd already left the pool room.
Goku found Midori-ko up in what now was their room changing out of her wet kimono.
He could feel her energy from where he was. It was very similar to when she used to have panic attacks.
" Hey you okay?" Goku asks
" Take your shorts off." Midori-ko says not looking his way
" Yes ma'am." Goku chuckles
" No they're getting the carpet wet you goof." Midori-ko rolls her eyes
" Oh yeah sorry." Goku quickly took off his swim trunks and walked over to the dresser he had all his clothes in "Are you mad at Fortuneteller Baba?" Goku asks pulling out a pair of black basketball shorts
" It's not that I'm mad." Midori-ko says slipping on a simple green t-shirt dress
" You sure?" Goku asks making his way to the bathroom to dry off his hair "Your energy is all high strung like how when you used to get panic attacks." He mentions as he dried his hair with a towel
" I haven't had a panic attack in years Goku." Midori-ko sat on the bed
" So tell me what's up." Goku tells her tossing the towel in the hamper after drying off
" The last conversation I had with Baba wasn't a good one." Midori-ko sighs
" When was this?" Goku asks putting on his basketball shorts
" Goku don't take this the wrong way but I'd rather not talk about it." Midori-ko didn't want to tell Goku about when she went to visit fortuneteller Baba 13 years ago.
" Okay so we won't talk about it." Goku sits next to her
" Sorry." Midori-ko gathered her hair to one side, Goku couldn't know why she left the lookout those many years ago
" You can talk to me about it when you're ready, kay?" Goku kisses her forehead

It was just before dinner when Fortuneteller Baba showed up at Midori-ko's castle.
Everyone had settled in the dining room waiting for dinner to be served when Linh the cook walked in.
" Everything okay Linh?" Midori-ko looks up
" Your excellency are we due for another guest?" She asks walking up to her
" I don't know if they're staying." Middle shrugs looking down at the tableware.
" Fortuneteller Baba must be here." King Kai stood "Goku." King Kai motions for him to follow
" Yeah." Goku stood from his spot next to Midori-ko and followed King Kai.
" Mom?" Daisuke looks at her
" Stay here." Midori-ko pats his shoulder before standing "Linh keep dinner warm please." Midori-ko instructs before making her way out into the foyer where she could see Goku and King Kai talking with fortuneteller Baba.
Midori-ko stood just watching them talk for moment the last time she talked to fortuneteller Baba, Midori-ko's life was turned upside down.
She lost the love of her life and ended up in a loveless marriage due to a Fortuneteller Baba's prediction.
Midori-ko was scared for several reasons about why fortuneteller Baba was visiting her home.
" Your Excellency." Fortuneteller Baba bowed her head to Midori-ko seeing her standing close by
" Baba." Midori-ko approached
" I hope you're doing well." Fortuneteller Baba kept her head down
" No thanks to you." Midori-ko sneers
" Forgive me." Fortuneteller Baba says "It seems like it worked out for you though." Baba's eyes darted towards Goku.
" What is your reasoning for visiting?" Midori-ko crossed her arms
" I came to speak with Goku." Fortuneteller Baba motions to him
" What's up Baba?" Goku asks trying to change the subject feeling Midori-ko's irritation
" Your family and friends on earth wanted me to check on you and see if you still didn't want to be revived." Fortuneteller Baba tells Goku
" Baba I was very clear that I was staying in Other World." Goku firmly says
" Well if you ever decide to you get a free day pass." Fortuneteller Baba shares
" Maybe some day I'm happy where I am." Goku smiles at Midori-ko before standing with Midori-ko and holding her hand
" I'm glad my prediction was wrong." Fortuneteller Baba smiles at them
" What prediction?" Goku asks
" You didn't tell him?" Baba looks at Midori-ko
" No I didn't." A cold chill went down Midori-ko's back
"Tell me what?" Goku looks at Midori-ko
"Goku." Midori-ko sighs "Can we talk about this later?" She squeezes his hand
" No I want to talk about it now." Goku states
" Okay fine." Midori-ko exhales "King Kai can you show fortuneteller Baba where the dining room is please." Midori-ko says
" Yes my excellency." King Kai bows
" Excuse us." Midori-ko turned still holding on to Goku's hand taking him to somewhere they could talk privately
