The tension in Baki's living room that night was so thick Kankuro could have cut through it with a dull kunai. He could read his teacher and sister's tension in the stiffness of their spine, their downturned gaze, and their shifting postures. No one was comfortable with their newest mission, except possibly Gaara, who appeared to be all anticipation.
"Infiltration… of Konoha," Temari whispered, a question in her tone.
"Yes," answered Baki and Kankuro was infinitely glad that Kagome wasn't anywhere within hearing range of this discussion. Kankuro didn't know how their empathic friend would react to talk of War.
