"You're leaving? So soon?" asked Kagome, sorrow souring her face. Gaara watched this display in morbid curiosity; he had never seen such a look directed to the knowledge of his siblings' and his inevitable departures.
"Yes, in a week," said Baki, his tone curt and precise. If Kagome wasn't feeling the stirrings of loneliness settling in her chest, she might have smiled; Baki was always so straightforward when delivering such news.
"But Temari…" she began.
"Is perfectly healthy, thanks to you," answered the blonde. Kagome was silent for a long moment.
"How long?" she wondered.
"Maybe two weeks, probably longer."
