"What did that mean?" asked Kagome when they left the Weapons Store. Normally such a statement wouldn't have caught her attention, but the fear and bitterness in her friend's words had struck a chord with her.
"What did what mean?" the blonde asked absentmindedly. But Kagome did not miss the sideways look the blonde gave her.
"That thing about saving someone's life."
"Oh that," waved off Temari as she stopped to look at the paltry wares in one shop's windows, "A ninja's tools are their life after all."
Kagome didn't believe that for a second, but she dropped the subject.
