Kagome had smiled at his simple expression, but she said no more on the matter. But her reaction was puzzling and Gaara did not like that he didn't understand it.
"What's so interesting about the sky," Gaara finally grumbled in displeasure as he watched her careless observation of the night.
"You know," began Kagome as she trailed her eyes down from the stars and towards Gaara's waiting visage, "where I…" She had paused and Gaara could see the way she fought to find the correct word, she was being diplomatic, "…where I was born, you couldn't see a single star."
