The morning came far too quickly for Kagome's comfort and when she woke with a start that morning she had nearly fallen off the side of the building if Gaara hadn't been there to catch her. Or rather if he hadn't been there to reflexively stretch out his sand the very moment she nearly lost her balance and tumbled down to the street below.
"Thanks Gaara," Kagome yawned as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. Gaara grunted indistinctly in return and nodded down to the busy street below.
"It's time to go," stated Gaara and Kagome frowned sadly.
"Already?"
