"You're an embarrassment to Suna," declared Gaara as he sent a spiteful look over at Kankuro, making his siblings freeze.
Gaara glared at his older sister, she should have been the one to intercede. Gaara did not like to do anything out of character, and he wasn't intervening now for the sake of the Kazekage and his ally's idiotic plan either.
He was intervening solely because he knew Kagome would not approve of such hostile behavior, and if she was displeased she could surely take Kankuro's chakra as easily as she did his own, and he needed his brother, sadly.
