"Gaara, we need to gather information first," murmured Kankuro, his eyes assessing the Hidden Rain Genin in front of him. Gaara sent a sideways glance in Kankuro's direction before he assented with the smallest of nods. Kankuro let go of the breath he hadn't known he had been holding. Gaara was not the monster he used to be.
For a second Kankuro wondered if perhaps that wasn't for the best. They were going to war, wasn't it just that monster that they needed…
Kankuro quickly shook his head and dismissed the thought. Monsters did not win wars, tactical ninjas did.
