When the needles rained down, Kankuro and Temari were prepared to dive into the cover of the trees. Their muscles bunched, and chakra pumped through their muscle fibers before the sky was overshadowed, darkness encasing them.
Both of them panicked within their separate cocoons, and for one shameful moment all they knew was absolute terror. They had seen this sand too often as a weapon to be comfortable encased in it. Both knew that all it would take was the slightest amount of will on Gaara's part and they'd be turned to mush.
The sand fell away and they breathed.
