They had attacked his team, and if they died… if they died… the silent promise he had made to Kagome would have been broken. Gaara could not live his life on broken promises.

Gaara couldn't breathe, not until theirs had stopped. Mother cheered, and Gaara had to blink as the image before him blurred for the slightest moments, Mother had taken control without his express permission.

"They have the scroll we need, let's get out of here," grumbled Temari.
