"Why are you telling this girl such foolish stories," complained an ornery voice from behind Kagome. With eyebrows drawn together Kagome glanced behind her towards the kitchen doorway where an older woman stood a headband in her gray hair, dressed in traditional Suna robes.
"Chiyo," wheezed the old man, "sister, you've decided to welcome our guest."
The woman scowled as she gave Kagome a once over.
"I thought that we were going to leave this generation to its own devices?" asked Chiyo, her words loaded with meaning. Ebizō seemed to deflate as he regarded his sister's meaningful glare.
"Yes, but…"
