Kagome hoped that if she didn't make any sudden movements she might be able to blend into the background and be entirely forgotten by the Kage before her. But her hopes came crashing down when the Kage looked up from his paperwork, to send the girl a cruel smile that sent a shiver down her spine.
"Kagome," began the man, and Kagome wanted to gag at the way the man seemed to roll her name around his tongue, like it was a delicacy. Kagome wanted to show the man a true delicacy, maybe a fully charged arrow to the thigh.
