Gaara kept a tight rein on his emotions, so when that boy had made numerous escapes from his deadly sands, it was a surprise to everyone, including himself, when his frustration started to show. It was in the way his frown would lengthen with every escape, the way his feet drew further and further apart, the way his fists clenched at his side. This boy was like a cockroach in the Desert.

Gaara was going to destroy him.

Gaara let out an audible growl when the boy had managed to land a blow. Of course the blow had been absorbed by the sand that encased his body but Gaara had felt the pressure of the blow through his sands. Gaara was displeased. He did not need Mother's whispering to prompt his sands to encase half of the boy's body. His enemy was close and there was no time for him to escape from Gaara this time.

Gaara smirked, as he looked towards his trapped enemy. Gaara was excited to see the defeat that would slacken his enemy's resolve, curious to see how his boy would wear his defeat.

All Gaara saw when he looked at the boy was fiery determination.
